JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Disappointing

Heard so many positive things about this hotel before we got there. We were disappointed as it has obviously gone down hill and showing it’s age. I wouldn’t say it’s a five star. Maybe 4 1/2. Usually at a five-star hotel there is staff to greet you when you arrive. You feel welcome. That didn’t happen. I did not find the staff to be friendly with the exception of one bartender, and one young lady handing out beach towels. Most appeared disinterested. It appeared to be a bit dirty an [... read more]d dark in some of the hallways and there was a musty smell in hallways and room. Spraying a scent to mask it doesn’t solve the problem. The food was good nothing memorable. The Butler was a nice touch. Room was nice except for the smell. They need to air them out in between bookings and while cleaning. Furniture on the balcony not conducive to conversation. The swing faces out and the couch faces towards the swing. My biggest issue was no hand held in shower just rain head. If you use the hand held in the bathtub water sprays all over. The friend I travelled with had been to the Iberostar in Mexico last year and loved it. This hotel needs an update and staff with enthusiasm. I would not recommend this hotel as there are too many resorts that I’ve been to that are better.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Excellent Resort

Everything was great about this hotel, so many food options, great staff and clean rooms always. The staff live to make you happy and the nightly entertainment was incredible. They always put on an amazing show.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Beautiful beach, terrible food!

I spent 5 nights at Laguna Azul. The staff were extremely friendly, the a/c was icy cold, and the beach was beautiful. The food however was nearly inedible. But I hear par for the course for Cuba...

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Awesome!

this was our first time at this resort. We found at the resort was very pleasing to look at. The staff was very friendly. The food was very good. The rooms were clean and updated. We were with a group of 23 people. I would definitely recommend this resort

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Beautiful resort.

We stayed January 8- 15 at the Coral Level at Iberostar Selection in Holguin. We had a junior suite . The rooms are spacious with a awesome bathroom and outdoor shower! The rooms were cleaned everyday and the maids did their job always with a smile . The food is good , the resort had a shortage of several things that they were not able to get. French fries , mashed potatoes and even the lobster was not available. The butlers did their best to accommodate for the things that were not there. [... read more] We would love to see the breakfast a-la carte returning we missed the Eggs Benedict and the rum and banana pancakes! Junior, Raoul, and Lariza were our butlers and we can not say enough good things about them. Always a smile and a kiss on the cheek for us, they are the main reason we come back to this resort. Not only them but all the people that work at the Coral level are friendly and helpful. We ate at some of the a-la carte restaurants and our favorite was the Japanese, a funny show and good food. The rest of the restaurants we didn't much cared for. The Mediterranean restaurant was a disappointment because we expected more fish selections and lobster on the menu which were both missing. The entertainment is good especially the band that played the Tuesday night was awesome. We had nothing to complain about the resort and will definitely come back. Iberostar Waves Cozumel: One of the prettiest hotels I’ve been too!

The grounds and nature reserve are beautiful and make this hotel worth staying at. The staff were very friendly and took care of all our requests very quickly. I don’t usually go to all inclusive hotels because I don’t like crowded beach and pool areas with not enough lounges and shade. I would highly recommend upgrading to the Prestige Package, it’s worth the extra money. We had a very exclusive experience, no shortage of chairs, shade and great service! Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Amazing resort

Very beautiful hotel clean friendly food was amazing one concern we had it was very very damp wet in our rooms all our clothes are wet bedding was wet the Floors were soaking wet we got back home in we ended up very sick from all the dampness but other than that beautiful beautiful hotel

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: IRHS fantastic resort.

Not a single issue. Rooms outdated but spacious. Beds uncomfortable yet sleep worthy. Rooms cleaned twice a day - nice touch. Drinks, food, service, Iberstar workers 5 star. Beautiful gardens, pools and beach.

Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Wonderful resort

Loved this resort ! Staff was amazing , food great , very clean . Ocean view room was big with a huge balcony . Lots of chairs on the beach and by the pools . Would definitely return! Thank you Jairus Maus for another wonderful recommendation !!

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Coral Level

Stayed in a junior suite on the 2nd floor in the Coral Section (adults only). Room was very spacious and all rooms seemed to have a pool view. Room, grounds, pool and restaurants were all very clean and well kept. On the Coral side of the resort which is very quiet, we received excellent service and staff were very friendly. We only ate in the Coral, Japanese and Mediterranean restaurants which was very good. Ate once at the Buffett for dinner which was ok but make sure you are there when the  [... read more]doors open. Warming dishes didn’t seem to be replenished quickly. There are 2 beaches. The small beach is very nice, small and shallow with an excellent beach bar. The larger beach which you share with another hotel is very nice but busy. There is a section reserved for Iberostar guests but quite small and fills up fast. There is also a makeshift bar with excellent service with the basic drinks. (No slushies). The beach is accessible by a bridge and can walked to very easily or you can hop on the golf carts. There currently is no “adult only” beach sections”. The two Iberostar resorts are on large grounds that are very walkable and well lit at night with a nice path along the ocean. The 2 beaches are nice but not like the Cayos or Varadero. I would return.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great family vacation and kiteboarding

Stayed here Jan 5-12, the temperature dropped to 24 the day before we arrived, and Jan is a windy month, but lucky for us, we were there to kiteboard. And the kiteboarding was amazing! I was charged 30cuc just to get my kiteboard bag from the airport to the resort, a bit of a cash grab considering It didn’t cost anything to fly the gear here all the way from Canada, but it cost $45Cdn to but it on a bus for a 1/2hr drive, maybe it was an AirTransit thing as I’ve never paid this fee the past  [... read more]5 trips, but this was the first time flying with them. After the first night we moved to a room on the east side of the resort, right beside the pool, ground floor. This was a perfect location for us, we used the patio door all week, steps to the pool and close to the beach. The staff was happy and helpful, daily they would come around the pool and take drink orders, they were serving donuts each day, chopping open fresh coconuts. We even had special coffees delivered right to our patio in the morning. We would tip, but we didn’t tip everyone every time, and it certainly didn’t effect the attitude or service of the staff. We ate at all the restaurants and a-la-cartes. The food was really good for a remote area of Cuba. We were comfortable letting our two sons stay up late as the resort is small enough that it feels very cozy and safe. A couple nights they came home at 3-4 in the morning, having met friends their ages (16 & 19). Only complaints were that it was not super hot, but it is January and you can’t control the weather, the there was some bugs, but we were the ground floor and our patio door was open a lot of the time. Kiteboarded 6 out of 7 days, I did pay the 25cuc, which is supposed to pay for the rescue guys, but they never came back the rest of the week. So basically I paid to use the ocean. Cash grab. Although it is a great place to teach, both my sons got up and we’re riding. So happy to see, it was worth the cost of the trip right there. Low tide is a fun time to walk way out on the sandbars, great for photos Over all it was amazing and would return but maybe in April when it’s a little warmer

Iberostar Waves Tucan: Amazing family vacation

Beautiful lush grounds with so many beautiful animals all around. We had such an amazing family vacation. Beautiful beach and tons of chairs at pool area. Friendly staff and close to shopping. Would definitely recommend.

Iberostar Selection Coral Cancun: Fantastic Resort

The food was amazing in all of the restaurants. The coral level buffet in the tower had such fresh seafood every day I almost didn't want to eat anywhere else. The beach is huge and awesome with more than enough of the various type of beach loungers. The staff throughout the resort were friendly and very helpful.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Great vacation

The food was delicious for the most part, particularly the buffet, Italian, and Hibachi. No shortage of food, there are snack bars everywhere and it's all great! The grounds were very well kept. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating, and you can tell they're hard-working. Loved the cappuccinos and lattes. The pool was great - spent a lot of time there. The room was perfectly cleaned every day. Loved their environmental endeavours - shampoo/conditioner/bodywash/handsoap/lotion were all [... read more] refillable containers rather than small throw-away squeeze bottles, and filtered water was available on each floor to put in glass bottles, rather than using lots of plastic bottles. AC worked great in the room. Wifi works everywhere outside, even at the pool - a couple dead zones here and there (eg. by the cafe) but not a concern. Good variety of television channels. Good size safe in the room. I would suggest adding bins outside the hotel rooms for plates/cups to go in. Overall we had a great trip and definitely would like to return to this resort again.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Really Nice Resort

The Coral Level at this hotel was great. Beautiful rooms with a soaker tub and separate shower stall. The pool is right at your door. There is butler service so if you need anything they will help. Daily towel swaps for the pool towels and turn down service. The wait staff are around you all day asking if you would like a drink. They bring it to you poolside which is wonderful. The down side of cuba is they run out of food items on the menu so you are eating a lot of the same things which [... read more]ever restaurant you go to. Every night we were booked into a different restaurant they were out of 2-3 thing always. Appetizers, mains and desserts were always “not available”. It didn’t matter where you went. There is no extra service or special restaurant privileges because you are coral level. The main difference is you have your own smaller buffet restaurant for breakfast and lunch and an afternoon snack menu at the outdoor bar. Otherwise the other restaurants are shared by everyone at the resort. The beach area is also small if you are a beach person. I loved staying at the pool because there you get lounge chairs and a cabana for your use daily.

Hotel Bella Costa: Bad experience

the rooms were very dirty there were cockroaches the air conditioning did not work they had to move from room 2 times, in the corridors we found several water leaks and the cleaning service of the rooms very bad do not change the towels and sheets daily very bad

Beautiful and well maintained resort. Rooms were clean and in good shape. Staff was very hospitable and friendly. Pool/ beach area was cleaned daily. Food was decent. Overall enjoyed our vacation. Would recommend to friends/family!

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: A Beautiful Place for New Years

This is a very beautiful resort situated all on its own on Cayo Ensenachos in the midst of a protected biosphere. Two long sandy beaches are available with one featuring some incredible snorkeling without the need for a boat. We stayed in the Spa section which is limited to adults but toured all the grounds which have amazing vegetation. Whether you eat in the main buffet or any one of the 4 a la carte restaurants you won't be disappointed. Rooms are spacious and only 2 storeys high. Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: We will return! Such a great resort!

From the moment we entered the hotel impressive lobby, to checking into our room everything was AWESOME! I have been to Cuba on 5 other occasions and this by far was one of the best. The food at the main buffet had so many options, and the servers were always wanting to help ensure that drinks were served and tables were cleaned up after use. The beaches we spacious as the resort had two of them, the white sand and lush property was quite impressive.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Great Place for Family Vacation

We were a party of 12 for a friends and family vacation. This was our first trip to Cuba, and it won't be our last. We were very happy with the resort - not too big, and not too small. The grounds were well-kept, pool was sparkling clean, and rooms were clean and comfortable, even though a bit dated. No one in our party had any issues with their rooms - all was in good working order. The'beach' area we actually were very happy with, even though there is only a small portion of actual beach that goes directly into the water. The rest of the beach area is covered with a dock, with steps directly into the water. Our party actually preferred the dock area - this way we weren't getting sand where it didn't belong. The steps from the dock into the water were in need of repair - a couple steps missing and one that was only half attached - but certainly not a deal-breaker! The ocean was gorgeous! The water was so clear and the bottom was soft sand. We could see many different starfish and conch shells in the water. The snorkeling was great too! Just down from our resort was Pilar Beach - it truly is one of the most beautiful beaches! The buffet restaurant was ok..... We were told that the food wasn't great, however we found that there was always something to eat, and never went hungry - even the picky eaters in our group were ok with the food. We will be back to Cuba, and would like to go back to this resort. The staff were so friendly! Thanks for a wonderful vacation!
