Melia Las Dunas: Fantastic staff

A friend and myself spent a week at this resort, Oct. 31 to Nov. 7 2019. The weather was good, mostly sun and cloud with a breeze which kept you from getting too hot. Resort needs some updating, our bathroom could really have used a remodel. A/C worked great, lots of hot water, fridge always had 2 beer and 1 pop and a large bottle of water which was replaced daily. We never went to an ala carte since we didnt want to be on a schedule. We hung out in the lobby at night, entertainment was good and we enjoyed our evenings. Shuttles were plentiful at night to bring you back to your rooms at night, this was great as this is a large resort. Beach was great, lots of waves which we loved playing in, these waves were never hard enough to knock you off your feet. Have to say a thank you to trip central, i really liked that they sent a few emails to us giving us emergency contact info if things were not good at resort, I appreciated this extra step.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort and Great Vacation

The resort is older but extremely well cared for. The grounds and walkways are wonderful! Rooms are older but clean. If you’re going to Cuba for a food experience, then you are going to the wrong country. Fourteen days and I was never hungry. Never tried the dinner restaurants but the buffet has something for everyone. The food at the pool bar, especially the pizza is unbelievable! Beach restaurant amazing BBQ lunches! Front desk staff and the bosses are not much help and beyond lazy but that seems to be a standard for the Cuban resorts I’ve gone to. The other staff, bartenders, wait staff, cleaning staff and gardeners are spectacular! Always willing to help with what is available to them. Really disappointed that I didn’t get my complimentary repeat guest bottle of rum regardless of how many times I said I didn’t get it.... but that’s the bosses/admin staff, lazy and really don’t care.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great Beach and Grounds

Beach was beautiful and so were the grounds. Loved the entertainment , they were exceptionally great. Food was good and the rooms were nice enough.Pools were clean and the Cuban people were very nice and helpful. I liked the layout of the resort.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great Resort

Great beaches, staff always helpful and a smile. pity the buffet was closed for Reno's but thats the way life goes. we will be back next year. Rooms could do with a fresh coat of paint. Grounds are well kept.

Melia Buenavista: This resort was amazing!!!

This hotel was incredible. The rooms were spacious and very clean! The grounds were very well kept and the staff was so friendly and so attentive to all our needs. There are three beaches and two pools at this hotel so plenty of chairs for everyone. The food was good - not amazing but good.The butlers were very helpful and always around looking to do something for you. Danialis and Joel were our butlers and they were awesome. Danialis organized a lovely dinner for my husband's birthday, it sure  [... read more]was something we will always remember! Joel was also very attentive to our needs. Overall, great place to go. We would go back in a snap and I would recommend this hotel to all our friends!

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great honeymoon!

Room was beyond expectations. Very large with 2 bathrooms, l/r, d/r, kitchenette, huge bedrooom and great outdoor space. Loved the hot tub on terrace. Very private. Beach was gorgeous. Service and people were exceptional!

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Everything was horrible

The food in this Resort is not even one star Worthy. When I opened the cloth napkin a cockroach came out. the prices for a la carte items are exorbitant and once ordered it is undercooked the only good thing about this place was the beach itself.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Tranquility at Royalton Cayo Santa Maria

Like what it's says in the title, if you are looking to rest and have tranquility while having fun this is the place for you. This hotel offers a very clean soroundings including your your room. The place is maintain with very nice people all very attentive of your needs. Very clean pool and a 24 hours snack bar which is very close to all apartment or houses where your rooms are. I would recommend this hotel for everyone that are looking for security, tranquility, and a fun vacation. Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: very good resort

very good services and very warm atmosphere at the cafeteria, at the bar in the lobby. Good cleaning services, Not enough information. Sunday may not be a good day to arrive as the main desk seem to be understaffed and the waiting period was long and annoying after a long trip. Great evening shows.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing Beach

This is my third time returning to this hotel. Somethings have improved while others continue to suffer. However, given the fact that this was the low season and that the US sanctions on oil is affecting transportation cost which in turn limits deliveries of supplies and food to the resorts, and mainly the fact that this is Cuba, some luxuries can be foregone; fortunately the internet was free and amazing. The 10 km Beach is breathtaking and can be walked from end to end. All the other resorts c [... read more]an be seen from the beach and although we had a great time at Playa Cayo, the real beauty lies in sand and water of Cayo Santa Maria and I think next time we will definitely give another resort a try; why not.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Paradise!

Loved my time at Sanctuary! The beach is absolutely amazing. The staff are very nice. The food is not amazing but I am not picky, I never went hungry. I loved the pizza at the snack bar. The pool is also paradise. The rooms weren’t the nicest however it was fine for sleeping and showering. I would return just for the beach.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Beautiful Relaxing Resort

We were there for 10 days in mid October 2019. We picked the resort to relax, and we were really pleased with entire experience. The grounds are lush and well maintained; and there are no other resorts next door. The beaches are fantastic. Pools are nice and well maintained. Lobby bar has good entertainment every evening. Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Disappointed

This was my 14th time to Cuba...and unfortunately the worst experience. Let me start by saying that I LOVE Cuba, and typically I can't say enough about the staff, the food and the property but this time was different. My friend and I traveled in October 2019. It was low season so we were aware that a pool, a la carte restaurant and number of buildings would be closed. There were supposedly only 200 guests at the resort. I'll start with the positives...a la carte dining was VERY good. Food wa [... read more]s tasty and well presented. The servers in the a la carte were excellent. My only complaint would be that it was always in the same restaurant with the theme changing each night. I have never experienced that before. The rooms were clean and made up consistently. The mini bar, however was not restocked each day. We were given 2 beer in bottles which we could not open. I have never encountered beer not in easy accessible cans. A staff member delivering beer and pop did open a bottle for us, by using the edge of the dresser, but that beer was never replaced the rest of the week...neither was the pop consumed. We found the staff unfriendly. We had a waitress in the pool snack bar "roll her eyes" at us when we asked if breakfast was still being served 30mins before lunch service started. We then waited and order lunch when she said no. Sandwiches that we were served were on saucers with only a few french fries...when we asked for more fries we again received another eye roll. We wouldn't have minded too much, however the Cuban tourists staying at the hotel were served meals on full size plates. The one pool that was open has very dirty. Murky water. Tons of missing tiles. Debris floating in the water. Not once, all week, was there ever anyone cleaning the pool. As a pool owner I found this troubling. There was also a lid missing from a floor drain, in the shallow end, which was a potential serious accident/ankle turning issue. Lastly, was the Lobby bar staff...Cubans were always served first. Bar staff seldom smiled and nor made eye contact when taking orders, even though we were tipping them. The pool bar staff was very good, however. Sadly, as a travel agent, I would never recommend and Ocean property and will never return to this resort. I have always had good experiences with Melia and Iberostar.

Resort is very nice but you don't get liquor in your room beer was not replenished every day as advertised in your room also resort had no pop at the bars until around 2pm every day staff are amazing I would recommend this resort if they can supply what you pay for

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Good resort

On line the resort has a 4.5 to 5 star review, we have been three many memories resorts including this one, the location is beautiful and grounds are kept clean, beach and ocean very clean , shallow water by the the shore and calm water. We stayed in the Sanctuary section, the rooms are very dated and with some issues and our room had a bid of mold on some walls, bed was very comfortable. Our mini bar at times was not replenished but maids were friendly and did a descent job cleaning the room. F [... read more]ood was very good and service was hit and miss. My main concern was the lack of beach huts in the Sanctuary section, 28 huts for the entire section, this caused major problems as people would leave towels and personal items on chairs over night ( frowned upon ) , I'd would have to go to the beach at 5 30 am to try and get a spot then only find that other guest's would pay the beach person to remove other guest's items to get a spot, this happened to me twice. All around it is an decent resort, if the Memories would up date the rooms and add more beach huts I'd give it a 5 star in the condition it is now I'd give it a 3.5 at best

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Beautiful Vacation

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this Beautiful resort. Everything was great. Service was great, people were lovely and the food was good. I love Cayo Santa Maria the beaches are so beautiful. We look forward to returning again. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who make this resort one of a kind

Paradisus Los Cayos: Review

personally i didn’t find the hotel great. First, the food wasn’t good at all and no variety. Second, i didn’t find that it was maintained\clean very well . On the positive side, the beach was wonderful ! The hotel is modern.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Very good resort

We just came from the vacation at Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria in Cuba. Overall the resort was very good, the beach was amazing, the weather was so good. The service was good, very nice people ready to help every time you asked. The food was good especially fish, lobster and other food they offer in the buffet.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: First visit in Ciba and the resort also hotel

The hotel is not for 4stars. We were missed of drinking water - we asked three times the reception and reception manager. We spent a lot of pesos to buy water. We gave tips every times for every occasion before to be served and even for asking water. The keys did not worked when we entered. We gave 20 can dol to the gay with electric car because it was night and no pesos for change. The driver wanted tip an then get the money and leaves us to resolve the issus with keys. Grand Memories Santa Maria: Resort was ok.

My stay at the Grand Memories will be a memory that I won't forget. For starters the hotel is not a 4 and half star more like a three and a half. The service was alright ,no problems there. The beach was impeccable but could of have more shading . The grounds were nice but too forest look type, the mosquitoes bites reminded you that. They need to up their maintenance such as replace the light bulbs on the paths to and from your room, very dark at night.
