Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Good but not great!

Having to pay for a safe and wifi are huge negatives to this resort. Food and drinks were lacking..seemed to be quantity over quality. Beach isn't great, pools were nice, rooms clean, hard workers, mediocre shows.

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: Great Staff!

Great staff - Cesar (mgr) helped us with our room. Rooms clean. Food good. Hotel/grounds maintained. Location good to OK. Beach club was good but there needed to be more variety with the food....got tired of just hamburgers & fries! Having just one pool wasn't good, needless to say we spent a lot of time at the beach! Bar by the pool open too late - too noisy, especially as most rooms are close to this area. Flying out of Abbotsford was a bonus. Flying with WestJest was disappointing. Not as go [... read more]od as a few years ago. No meals were provided! Flying down our seats did not recline but the seats in front did to within a few inches of us! No leg room, seating was too cramped. Flying back we had more leg room (by exit) but again our seats did not recline.

Secrets The Vine Cancun: Just a fantastic experience

This was the best resort I've ever been too! Great service and the food was 5 stars!! I'd recomend this place to anyone. Always something to do. Resort was also very clean. The room was exactly what I wanted

Riu Santa Fe: Had A Great Time

This resort is kept up beautiful very clean. Great food. Lots to do in the area, downtown is easy to get to.Very safe area and people are very friendly and willing to help you.The only downfall is the beach is a coarse sand not nice soft white sand and you can't swim in the ocean in front of the resort althought some people do

Allegro Cozumel: Very relaxing resort

Very clean and well taken care of will layout and friendly the staff always there to help you the wild life was really relaxing you could eat of the walkway it was so clean lose to some good attractions and good eats

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Charming Resort

The food, the service. the staff were amazing. If you can stay at the main resort it has an adult only pool with a bar and restaurant, it is a quaint little fishing village, if you can handle the hour bus ride it is totally worth the ride. the town has lots of shops only a few minutes walk. If you enjoy a larger venue on Mondays there is a market in town. and on Thursdays there is an even larger market in La Penita very inexpensive cab ride. Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Incredible!

Now I know what to expect at a five star resort. Absolutely wonderful in every aspect. When we arrived we were greeted with, "welcome to your new home" by every staff member we encountered. Little did we know then of the comfort and service we would experience on our vacation.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Sadly not impressed :(

This hotel was rated as a 4 star, but was definitely a 3! This is the first trip I have been on that by the end of 7 days I was actually looking forward to going home. Our first room was terrible (old and dirty)! Luckily they were willing to move us 2 days later. Even then rooms were basic (no fridge, either to hot or too cold, one water bottle a day and only had clean glasses on the first day). The food selection was minimal and not good at all! The activities (pool, beach, theatre, disco) were really good! Beach was beautiful! A lot of beach chairs near the pools and beach, could always find a place to spend the day in the sun or shade. Service was very good and staff was very friendly! Was a much older crowd and a lot of families. This was fine, but not quite what we were expecting. Appeared to be a popular local attraction as well and when there were more local people it seemed that the tourist population was catered to a lot less, which was disappointing. Although we were disappointed we were in MEXICO :) and made the best of it and had some fun and got great tans.

Dreams Huatulco: Dream vacation at the Dreams Huatulco!

Our group of 11 had our second trip to the Dreams Huatulco, Mexico. It was a beautiful week. The resort staff, the service, food, cleanliness, and the atmosphere was amazing. A special shout out to our favourite pool side waitress Primi!! The resort was filled to capacity and yes, there were a few little glitches because of this, but nothing that would change our feelings about this great place. We are planning to return again next March

El Dorado Seaside Palms: INCREDIBLE and FANTASTIC-BEST EVER PROPERTY

The views from the new buildings #6 and #7 were spectacular overlooking the ocean!! Each room has its own infinity pool.The room itself is largerr than most hotels have.The restaurants on site are all gourmet. We did not have one bad meal at all. The food is exceptional. The grounds are immaculate. The staff is friendly. The different beaches, pools and places to lie around are incredible. The hotel by the Karisma brand is a must to stay at

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Beautiful Resort

We had such a great time at the Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal.The food at the Buffet and Al a Carte's was delicious.The staff go out of their way to make sure you are having a great time andt he grounds a beautiful and well managed.The great thing about staying at the Luxury Akumal is you can use all of the facilities at the Coba,Tulum and Sian Ka'an resorts which are also beautiful.You will not be dissapointed if you go.Can't wait to go back!

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: An Exceptional Experience

Secrets Capri is a beautiful Resort and Spa on the beach in beautiful Rivera Maya. The facilities exceeded our expectations in every way including clean and new.. The food and food service was top notch. And resort personnel: there were staff everywhere prepared to do whatever they could to ensure a perfect vacation.

Las Brisas Huatulco: I LOVE this place!

Spectacular staff, beautiful grounds, amazing reef for snorkelling. The buffet was meh this time, but my package included 10 ala carte meals this time so it ended up being ok. Challenge would be hills in the resort but this is circumvented by a shuttle system which runs frequently.

Dreams Aventuras Riviera Maya: Nice, but missing something

There was much that was great about this resort: the food; the adult pool; the family pool; the pool bars; the dive centre (excellent!). The downsides included the a/c odor that seems to prevail in the rooms -- clearly outdated a/c system, as they are LOUD. The last thing I would say is that management took three tries to get our reservations correct (double beds for boys; king bed for my wife and I), even though we had to pay extra with the reservation for this.

Las Hadas by Brisas: Excellent Value

The hotel is extremely well kept, they are constantly cleaning and painting the public areas. Pool and beach are great, food was good, but food service was a little spotty. It is important, especially if you have kids or mobility issues to get a room on the lower levels (200s to 400s). If you are on the higher levels you could climb a 150 stairs to your room or wait for the golf cart service which can be slow. I would go back to this resort any time.

Villa del Palmar Beach Resort: Great time

The hotel was great once we got settled.our reservation was for Monday to Monday but they only had us booked for 4 nights starting Thursday.Our first room had a sewer problem Took us 3 visits to the desk to get a new room. After that we had a great stay

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Not a 5 Star Resort

- Check-in at the 'VIP' lobby was over an hour long with only one staff working. Other guests in line had been waiting for several hours for their rooms and problems to be resolved. - Bath towels were not replenished on a daily basis - they took the used ones, but would not leave new ones. Had to request the towels each time. - Mini fridge and bottled water was not replenished on a daily basis as indicated. Again, had to request for more water and snacks. If you happen to be in the room when sta [... read more]ff were coming around with snacks, they would provide you with one snack size bag of chips (we were a family of 4). Had to ask for extras. - Stayed on the main floor and had beach towels and clothing hanging to dry on the balcony. Few days into our stay, our balcony was drenched with water (not by rain or sprinkler system) but by a gardening staff watering the grass. Approached front desk staff about this and they gave me excuses then said "I don't know....I need to check", no apology or desire to resolve the concern. - Wanted to get our daughter's hair braided at the Spa - took 3 days to find someone to book, each time, we were told to book at incorrect locations. - Morning yoga was advertised at the beach, headed out one morning to the area advertised, asked several staff to confirm. Walked along the entire stretch of the beach and it was no where to be found. When the gym staff was asked later that morning, they contacted the instructor who first said that there was no yoga, then called back to state that it was located by a theatre (no where close to the beach) with 12 participants. - Buffet was hit and miss - sat in the same area for the duration of our stay and half the time, we had to look for a server to take our drink order. Food was not replenished quickly. - Shuttles to different areas and sister hotel was a disaster. No signage or communication indicating which shuttle was going where nor were there set times. When asking staff, they were reluctant to help or give detailed information. - Tried to book the free resort activities, asked front desk staff, public relations staff and tour operators, all who advised of different information on booking process. - Nightly entertainment was not entertaining at all. Definitely not the 5 star resort we were hoping to have stayed at and don't think we would stay at this chain again.

Zel Cozumel: Great food and drinks

Awesome drinks- carried a wide variety of drinks and even had crown royal on the bar! Consistently met our expectations- when you ordered a specific drink it tasted like it should, and the bartenders often suggested something delicious! Food was excellent! We thought we might get bored with the menu after 2 weeks, but they had an outstanding variety of food - even the menu on the a la carte changed. The buffet had additional cooking stations with the ability to have steak, chicken, seafood, and/ [... read more]or fish. We also enjoyed the lunch a la carte, although service was often slow unless Martin was working. Rooms - rooms were very clean and very large, fridge was restocked everyday, and our housekeeping staff was very friendly. The only thing we would say is there isn't enough storage - there is more than enough room for a dresser so you have somewhere to put clothes. Beach was great, lots of space and good length for walking - not many places in Cozumel have a good beach. After the storm and lots of seaweed came ashore, those maintenance guys worked tirelessly to clear the beach so it was walkable again. They did an awesome job! Our only real complaint was the service on the pool bar. We started with Hilario (who was excellent) and then the next day for over a week we had a server (Alberto- I think) who we felt was just never happy. It was difficult to get a drink, and he didn't make any real effort to make your stay enjoyable. To his defence, there was often a ton of people waiting, so a second bartender throughout times in the day would be helpful. However the last 2 days we had Enrique who was amazing! Friendly, smiling all the time, and even offering you a drink without being asked. He was so fast and efficient, there was rarely a lineup. The final thing about this hotel is its proximity to the airport and downtown. Our pickup at the airport was awesome! As you got through customs, there were vans waiting to take you immediately to the hotel - it took 10 minutes to get there, and there was no lineup at check-in as they sent vans of 6-10 people as they arrived off the plane. Brilliant! The downtown core is very safe and we went in to restauants and to see live bands a number of times. Being so close was a huge bonus. It's 80 pesos to anywhere downtown- very reasonable. Overall we would definitely come back to this resort! The location, view, beach, adult pool, and staff (like Martin in the a la carte, Wilbert in buffet, all the front desk staff, the towel guy) made our stay amazing!

Live Aqua Cancun: Good and bad

Good: Staff was amazing, nice hotel and very clean, food was good. View in the bedroom was amazing. Bad: did not sleep at all. lots of noise until 3 am. Very demp so felt we sleep in wet sheet. One incident with the fridge. We took a bottle of water in our bedroom fridge and it was full of tequilla instead. We reported it to the manager who he appologized and says he would investigate and he end up paying for our room upgrade.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Very wide-spread resort.

The hotel is "dated". We had booked two adjoining rooms as we were travelling with a 22 month old baby. Both rooms ran out of hot water a couple of times during our stay. The food at this resort, compared to that during our stay at the Bahia Principe in Runway Bay in Jamaica, was not as good.
