Ocean Blue and Sand: Great staff and good value

This was our second trip to Ocean Blue and Sand. Staff are exceptional. Very helpful, professional and friendly. Service is very good . The grounds and pool area are very well kept and the rooms are clean and nicely appointed. Beach was in good shape but a bit crowded for us so we stayed at the pool. The pool area could use more umbrellas. Food is generally good but not as consistent as last year. Our favoriates being the Japanese and Italian. Playa Vista Azul: Infinite Pool !!!

Loved: - Our room/location of the hotel (close to the pirate cave for parties, and the city centre) - The grounds were well maintained and the resort was not too big - Beaches (small beach and big beach both beautiful, plenty of chairs, activities mostly on the bigger beach which was a bit of a walk but well worth it cuz of free snorkelling, paddle boating, kayaking etc.) - The infinite pool was honestly breathe taking, and surprisingly not too congested with swimmers (...amazing spot to ta [... read more]ke pictures!) Did not love: - The food both in the buffet and a la carte dinners (no seasoning, cold, over cooked etc.) snack bar food was great though! - Drinks (stuck to my lemonade with vodka cuz the sex on the beach at this resort was too bitter, and the pina coladas tasted like powder mix more than I liked it to) - A la carte experience in general was a headache (no reservations unless you pay for premium package) and the restaurants (especially the good ones) were always full quickly Recommendation: - Catamaran (Cayo Blanco Plus): 8 hours of boating, snorkling in the middle of the ocean, interacting with dolphins, lunch and free time at Cayo Blanco beach and more partying on the boat all the way to shore - Cuevos Los Pirates (Pirate Cave): 10 CUC to get in, party gets going around midnight, reasonably priced drinks, amazing show at 11pm-ish (better than the ones on resort) - Double decker busses: $5 CUC for a day pass, bus travels to the city centre of Varadero where the markets, restaurants, medical centre and banks are located

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Disappointed!

At a glance, the hotel is very pretty. Grounds are very well kept and clean. Service staff are very friendly and work very hard. I feel we paid quite a bit of money ($2,139.00) on the pretense we were to receive luxury service. We paid additional fees for the "Sapphire Club" All inclusive-Ocean view and I'm not sure how it is even categorized. As for ocean view- the only way to view the ocean was to step out to the railing on the terrace and crank your head to the left. When we first checked-in we received a "sales pitch" about upgrading to "Privilege", and we told the cost would range an additional $60-$75 US. per person, per day!! We also discussed meals, since we had paid for all-inclusive, we were told À la carte dinners are unlimited, no reservations required, but when we went to each restaurant, we were told the Privilege had actual reservations, which left us standing, waiting in long line-ups, and or having to go back to our room and order a simple burger & fry! Also, the alcohol provided at this level was less than good, but I was told if I had "Privilege" I would have premium selection or I could purchase it for $5.00 a glass. Our mini-fridge was re-stocked each day with 2 beers and when asked to have 2 each were told, no! So all in all, the weather was great.. and I enjoyed our excursions but I would not return or recommend this resort to anyone.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Not Bad Not Great!!!

its a decent resort, ocean is quite a ways away from the resort but its amazing when you get there, food wasnt too bad, drinks were okay, service was just okay, terrible at the swim up bar, was no one at the bar in the pool and my wife waited 30 mins plus for a drink, needs work but decent price, weather was pretty good also, beds are horrible also, sore backs for 5 out of the 7 days

Ocean Blue and Sand: Awesome Resort!!!

Amazing resort with 3 swimup bars and huge pools, everything flows perfectly The set up for food and drinks and the pool and beach and the rooms works out really well :) The entertainment is fantastic and so much fun at the pool and beach:) The food is delicious and lots of variety. The privilege group wanting you to upgrade will drive you crazy if you let them.. Mostly all rooms have double beds :(

Playa Vista Azul: Very happy with the resort

This was my first time to Cuba. Was a very enjoyable and relaxing vacation Staff were very friendly and all accommodations were satisfactory. I would definitely go back to this resort. Beaches were very good and so was the food. Took a trip to Havana and took about 2 hrs one way which was welll worth the trip

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great Hotel

The hotel was great. This was my second time at this hotel. Grounds were kept in great (clean) condition. The room was very good as was the entire staff.....very friendly. I ate the buffet every day and the food was very good. They had 3 specialty resturants but I did not try them (i was happy with the buffet). Lots of room at the beach. Always got a chair and space.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Excellent Resort

Everything about this resort was amazing. Modern rooms, good food & drinks. The grounds are very well taken care of. The whole resort is very clean! There is always cleaning staff around. It is evident that the resort is well managed!

Playa Vista Azul: Comfortable and well run resort

Beautiful beaches and super clean resort. Rooms had ample room for 3 adults - 2 doubles and a chair pulled out into a super single. Lots of food choices to choose from but limited if dietary restrictions as even the grills are multi use. Staff were all super friendly and bent over backwards to accommodate any requests. Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Amazing week!

Loved mostly everything about this resort. Food was amazing. Had to wait for the blue moon restaurant for about an hour, but we showed up close to 8pm so kind of expected that. The beach had a lot of seaweed but they were out all day trying to clean it up. Losing battle but they did an amazing job. Had no issues getting a lounger near the pool but we were up by 8am. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Very good

Nice hotel, food was pretty impressive for Cuban standards. Rooms were clean. Pool was clean, beach was amazing and clean. Entertainment staff were fun. Some services were not very available, they lacked certain items on the snack bar menu for the whole duration we were there. The pool bar closes too early, around 4 or 5. Lacked theatre entertainment. In general we enjoyed our stay there, although it’s a bit more targeted for 50+ age group and more of a quiet resort.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Beautiful Resort

This hotel was beautiful, extremely nice rooms and facility layout. We were fortunate enough to lick out on rooms that were close to all amenities which made it great to access everything and enjoy the full experience the hotel had to offer. The staff was super friendly and helpful. It was very nice to have multilingual staff oh hand to avoid any communicate barriers. The beach was terrific also lots of room for sun bathers and canopy area for the hubby that can’t be too much in the sun! Drinks were great lots of assortments and tenders were fun and experienced!! We would definitely go back!

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Paradise

Beautiful landscapes and gardens. White sandy beaches with tons of chairs. Wonderful fast service. Clean facilities. Great food. Many great restaurants to choose from. Fabulous vacation for the family with so many options and activities for everyone

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Nice resortbeautiful beach

Just returned from Oceans Casa del Mar. We stayed in building 9 which was close to the main lobby and the buffet. We had a jetted tub but if you prefer showers, ask for a room with a shower instead. You can't really shower in this tub. Food was good and the only criticism I would have was the buffet got a bit repetitive. We always left with full bellies. Pool area was nice. Enough lounge chairs while we were there. Lots of lounge chairs at the beach also. All in All, great holiday!

Playa Vista Azul: Wonderful resort!

We stayed in an Ocean Front Privilege room which overlooked the infinity pool and Caribbean sea and was close to all amenities. Definitely worth the extra money for the Privilege room and the extra service that comes with it. I wouldnt stay unless i had the Privilege room. The staff was friendly, room was clean and the food was very good although salty at times. I didnt enjoy the buffet at all. Beaches were beautiful, no sand fleas!

Playa Vista Azul: Amazing Trip Once Again

This was our second visit to this resort and once again it was awesome! The staff here is incredible and a few remembered us from our previous trip 1 1/2 years ago. They are constantly painting and making upgrades to maintain the property. The bathrooms by the big beach are a great addition. We need to mention Yoelkis, Alejandro, and Nestor at the theatre bar who always remembered what we were drinking and were so friendly and warm. He and the team did their best to keep everyone entertained even when the weather wasn't so great. We would definitely return to this resort just for the staff alone but we really don't have any complaints. This was our 11th trip to Cuba and we will definitely be back!

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great resort

The staff, food and grounds were amazing !!! Best food I have eaten in Mexico My only one complaint they didn’t stock the coffee or face clothes in the room about 2 days in. For a big resort there was never a line up or a crowed pool

Clean, lots to do, great variety in food and restaurants. Loved the pool table, bowling alley, and ice cream! We stayed for two weeks in the Eden building. View of beach, jungle, and pool. Added touches were great, water pressure, slow close toilet seat. Awesome. Lol

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Overall a great resort!!

Beautiful hotel and amazingly nice service at the bars and buffet! Staff were friendly and made you feel welcome. Beach is nice, though not as long of a stretch for walking as I would like. Rooms were clean and good maid service. A la cartes do require reservations even though website says they are not required. One a la Carte bows not require reservations but only 2 different menus. Food was pretty good...standard for Cuba. Overall a great time!
