We had a wonderful time at the resort. The service was 5 stars. The resort needs a renovation and update and the more variety in the food selection. Would return with my family. The daily activities was fun and entertaining.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Un très bon hôtel, tout y est on a eu un séjour magnifique on va y retourner

Malgré tout ce qu'on entend sur la République Dominicaine on s'est sentis en sécurité et tout était excellent à cet hôtel. Je le recommande. Plage aussi très bien avec beaucoup des palapas mais un peut venteux. Du soleil toute la semaine passé mais pas sentie la chaleur il y avait une bonne brise. Et à souligner qu'il y a pas des moustiques très apprécié le soir.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Great resort

Food was good, room was very clean, and hotel staff was very helpful. Had a great time at the beach, it is a small resort but didn't mind since restaurants,pool, and beach were all close to our room!

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Great Resort!

Great value for the price. The rooms are clean and simple ensure to ask for a renovated room. Staff are friendly and willing to help with everything. Food is great at the buffet large selection for all 3 meals. Food highlights - all the chicken, especially at the snack bar. Luis at the bar was wonderful always greeting with a big smile. Private beach near the buffet is the best beach not many people and the guy for the umbrellas and chairs was friendly and went out of his way to hose down  [... read more]the sand when it got too hot. All and all our vacation turned out to be fantastic.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: relax and enjoy

My reviews are all the same if you want value for your dollar can't beat this resort. Its not a 5 star but the foods excellant the rooms clean people very friendly and there is nothing you will need.The beach is clean and always blue water, they now have a Exercise room with bikes weights and instructor when you need him.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Wonderful Time!

We really enjoyed our stay at this resort. The property is huge! Even without VIP wristbands (which you really don't need) you can have a wonderful trip. While you only have access to one beach, there are ten pools for regular guests to visit, including two with swim up bars. We never had trouble finding loungers in the shade. The resort was relatively empty at this time of year, so we ate in the a la carte restaurants every night. The Brazilian restaurant was amazing, and so was the seafood. [... read more] The only one that was just so-so was the Italian. Bring singles to tip the staff in the buffets and they will find you every day and make sure you have everything you need. We got upgraded to a junior suite and the room was amazing! I prefer cruising, but I enjoyed this trip and would definitely return.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Good Resort

The room was clean with a good view, mini fridge was refilled everyday. The pools were clean. The four a la carte restaurants did not need reservations which was convenient. Daily activities and entertainment on the resort. Staff was friendly.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: 3rd time was definitely not lucky

This is my third time visiting this property and I really hate giving it a 3 star because it used to be such a great resort. I am a very fair reviewer but things have changed here and not for the better. 8 girlfriends went down to celebrate turning 60 and I chose this property because most of us had been here before. Pros 1) The staff are so very kind and helpful. They do their very best to get you up and moving so you engage with your fellow travelers. They also do their best to entertain y [... read more]ou. They work so hard cleaning the tired rooms and in the restaurants. 2) The food is good when you can get it. All 3 a la carts were very good. 3) Check in - quick and painless and they did their very best to accommodate all 8 of us. 4) The weather is almost always perfect in Puerto Plata 5) Plenty of shade at the beach between the palapas and the trees. 6) Great air conditioning, hot water and shower power in the rooms. Cons: 1) Shame on you for using those single-use, small 6 ounce plastic cups and straws. We spent the whole week picking them out of the ocean, off the beach and out of the pool. You didn't have enough staff to walk around and clean them up from the pool area so we did it for you. The whole world is eliminating single use plastic and you started using it! What's wrong with the acrylic glasses that get hundreds of uses? What the heck is wrong with you guys!!??! 2) I realize that it's off-season, but you don't have enough staff to serve your customers in the buffet. Every morning for 7 days I had to go find a server to get a cup of tea. In the evening we almost never got asked if we wanted drinks. We always had to hunt for a server. You kept running out of things on the buffet and we either had to wait around or chose something we didn't like in order to eat. 3) Your tired, old chairs at the beach and at the pool are still in use from 3 years ago when I last visited. They are frayed and busted and are quite shameful. I suggested you invest in new loungers in that review but you chose not to. 4) Your rooms, while comfortable enough are old and tired and are in dire need of an upgrade. 5) Your WIFI, while free one hour per day around the pool and in the lobby, did not work even one day. They only way someone can get any useful WIFI is by buying it for $12 or $25 USD. If someone is keeping in contact with their office while on vacation, I suggest going to a different property. As I said, it makes me sad that you're not keeping up with the times. You've become irrelevant. We pay for WIFI at Be Live, we pay for safes at Be LIve, you use low grade liquor at Be Live - yes, everyone noticed that you don't use the real stuff. And you don't care about the environment. I always give good reviews but I just cannot this time. I'm so sorry because Spaghetti, Mosquito, Rafael and all the others deserve more from you.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Beautiful Beach

Grounds were very well kept but the rooms were a bit dated but kept clean. Very nice sandy beach and ocean had a very sandy bottom. The food on the buffet was ok and the services was slow but food and service was much better at the a la carte. The resort need to switch drink glasses to re-useable plastic as the disposable cups and straws produce so much garbage.. No need to use straws as you find a lot of straws on the beach.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Ok

This was my 3rd stay at his resort. I Felt it is really showing its age. The rooms had lots of small problems. No plugs. We had to plug our coffee maker in ian outlet in the bathroom. The shower door did not operate properly nor the closet door and our patio door did not lock. The line ups the first weekend we were there were atrocious. I was disappointed with the liquor selection. We normally enjoyed a crime liquor in the mornings with our coffee but not this time. It was normally late afternoon before housekeeping and fresh towels arrived Certainly not impressed and will not return

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Good value

Lobby nice, 0ne pool for entertainment large pool, one quiet pool medium size. 3 jacuzzi and the beach. restaurant with menu italien excellent, Mexican good and see food unfortunately I did not like my main course. Buffet acceptable. You can eat all day. My room was clean and good the made was excellent. No problem with water. Evening entertainment was good. I recomand this hotel.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Loved our stay

The resort was wonderful, staff are very polite and friendly, food was pretty good. The only bad thing was in the weekend when the locals showed up, it was a bit overwhelming trying to eat at the buffet. They would often butt in front of you or take the last of the food. It was only for the weekend though so it wasn’t too bad. We had a wonderful trip.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Good Resort

This was our second time back to the VH Gran Ventana. We love this resort, food is amazing, workers are great, drinks are good. Always have a good time when we are there. We were a little disappointed this time around though, any time we went to the buffet we would never got water or we would get it once and they wouldn't come back to refill. Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Sub standard service

Staff was terrible, no smiles, never helpful, unfortunately my 9 yr old grandson got sick and the front desk staff was terrible, no compassion, no help, we wanted to call ambulance and they wouldn't let us, can't call out from hotel at all, worst service ever!! there is a dr on site who helped us but big language barrier, could hardly spoke speak English, nurse couldn't speak English at all. Our room was way to small for 3 of us, nowhere to unpack, no room to even walk around, bathroom so tin [... read more]y and moldy, tried to change rooms, offered to pay for upgrade, answer was just no, wouldn't even try, never return to this resort because of the bad customer service.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Amazing resort

This was my first time ever going anywhere. It was an amazing experience the staff were very friendly and helpful no matter what the situation was. There was always so much variety of food available. The place was always kept cleaned. The overall price is a great value. I would definitely recommend this resort and will be back!

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Nice Resort

This was our second time at this resort and we went back because we loved it so much the first time. Second time wasn't as good as the first time. I found that the service was not as good. We had to ask for water and coffee when we were dining in the buffet restaurant, some days we didn't but more often then not we did. The food was very good and they had a lot of variety. The main pool is in need of repair. There are cracks in some areas and the bottom of the pool felt crumbly also the walls were stained. The room was decent and cleaned but our shower did not have much pressure.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: review for Grand Bahia Principe San Juan

went to San Juan Bahia Principe May 14 2019 with 2 other people, resort is beautiful but the buffet food is terrible, (i have never been to a resort that the buffet was open, this attracted birds and bugs) all 3 of us got very sick, other people i met on the resort got sick too. (good thing i brought alot of immodium), It got brought to my attention none of the air conditioner filters got cleaned in the rooms, i checked mine and it was filthy i even have a vidio of cleaning it and clogging the b [... read more]athtub. Once this was cleaned the air conditioner worked great. I will never go back to dominican again i've been to Cuba 5 times and have never gotten sick. Kind of scarry hearing about alot of people getting sick and dying in Dominican, didn't hear about this until after i got back and most of the resorts were the Bahia.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Absolutely Beautiful

This resort is very well maintained. The food was good, the pool was good and the activities were fun. The nightly entertainment want as entertaining as other resorts but that's just an hour of your time. They always have good animals for you to munch on and the staff take care of you. I do find that they are expectant of tops but when you find out how much they make per day/month you become more willing to give. I went during a low season and it wasn't too busy or too packed. I wish the main buffet was closed because it makes things more hygienic that way but it was still good. There was also a lot of wind at the beach so the water want that great to swim in.

We were greeted when we arrived by the super friendly staff. Food was superb with a wide variety of choices. Rooms were nice and kept clean on a daily basis. We absolutely love our holiday and want to go back next year.
