Playa Vista Azul: Super resort

The resort was super. The Ala Carte restaurants they have are just 3 for the size of the hotel they should add another. Everything else was awesome. We had a great time and the staff were all fantastic.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Beautiful resort!

We have visited Varadero four times now and must say that Ocean Varadero El Patriarca was the best! Staff were friendly, rooms were clean and the food was the best we've had in Cuba. I do not have a single complaint and was impressed that the fellow at the front desk ensured that the nine of us travelling together were all in the same bungalow rather than spread out. We will definitely be back!

Playa Vista Azul: AMAZING PLACE

We just came back from our first trip to varadero and I am inlove with Cuba. It was perfectly organized to get to the resort from the airport and back from when we were leaving! The food was sooo good especially the burgers by the pool & I can’t say enough about the entertainment group. Danny, Gustavo, Pedro, Douglas, Mirthaa, Aribyl, Noriel, Felix, Yoeli and Carlos are names I will never forget. Ocean Riviera Paradise: Nice resort, service not up to par

This was a very nice resort, great pools, lots of bars and restaurants. The rooms were great, everything about it was perfect except for the service. The staff there were not very friendly and the service overall was poor. It was consistently poor in every bar and restaurant, though there were a couple that seemed to care less than others. It was felt by many people I spoke to and on several occasions I wondered if I was actually invisible as bar staff literally ignored people waiting at the [... read more] bar while they chose to fuss around wiping down counters etc. At times it was laughable, but actually very annoying.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great Resort, Food not quite up to par

Hotel rooms were clean and adequate, but more of a 2-3 Star standard Nightly shows were awesome, better than other resorts I have been to. Beach was great and had an opportunity to snorkel for an hour for $20 which included boat ride to/from as well as the snorkeling equipment. (Bring your own if you can) Great activities by the pool and at the beach throughout the day. The staff is very good at encouraging participation. The food experience is deficient on many fronts. - Tables are cleane [... read more]d, without cleaning place mat then cutlery is placed on it. When cleaning tables, unused cutlery is left for the next customers - At the buffet, serving spoons are often non-existent. Staff seem to be concentrating on keeping floors clean as opposed to making sure food area is presentable. The food itself seems to be of lower quality and often is not properly cooked. As much as I tried to not be negative about the food, I did struggle to enjoy the eating experience. The restaurants seemed to serve more acceptable food, but nothing close to gourmet. We did ask about food at the other resorts and food was always the only complaint. The resorts are all owned by the Cuban government so you may not find better eateries! Other than the food, I did enjoy my stay at this resort as it had everything else you need for a hot destination. If you want a cheaper Caribbean experience and are not fussy when it comes to food, Cuba is the place to go!

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Resort for everyone

Transpo: confusing pickup at airport. Loaded into taxi vans based on resort. We watched many load while we waited an hour. Given a taxi chit for return trip. Did not realise the chit had details for Transat welcome time. Hotel Reception: fast and welcoming but no info was passed about Transat welcome. Easy check out. Friendly. Room: very clean, well stocked with water, towels etc. Comfortable beds and AC. Quiet. Food: Very good. Excellent selection of a la carte restos. Downside, resto [... read more]s filled quickly so placed on a waitlist. Grounds: well kept, pools were great. Pleasant that there was no food being brought out of restos to mess up the grounds. Beach: Very Unsatisfactory. Do not recommend resort for someone wanting a beach vacation. Very significant swath of weeds line the hotel’s entire beach front. Significant weeds also floating in the water. Most unpleasant. Not used. Vacationeers: Good mix; families, old and young. A few partiers. Party Atmosphere: Pool with bar and swim up bar were hub of activity during the day. Other pools quiet. There were shows in the evening but we did not attend. Smoking: Smoking permitted outdoors, thus at the pool too. Not plesant for non smokers. Thankful no smoking is restos. Airtransat: Good flights. Two reps worked in the reception area during the day. Welcome reception was not attended because it’s time and location was not communicated well. Over all experience and vacation was very good but I would not recommend hotel due to the unplesant state of the beach front.

Playa Vista Azul: Amazing resort

The hotel is amazing. The people at the resort is what makes the trip well worth it. The food was better than anticipated. However, they could work on their drinks. The resort is very modern, and is close to the Varadero market. Highly recommend this resort.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Stunning Resort!

We stayed 2 weeks at this beautiful modern resort. Had our wedding on Valentine's Day along with 12 of our family members in attendance. The wedding turned out perfect for us with no complaints. Everyone had a wonderful time at the resort. The food was beyond our expectations! Thanks to Kassandra and the rest of the entertainment team for doing an amazing job every day, always energetic and fun! The bartenders and staff were very friendly and attentive. Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great place, no regrets

We were there for 10 days From feb 3ard. I really have no complaints. All of the dinning was awesome. Only one that needs a reservation is the sensai and its one of those cook in front of you deals. Very good as well. The beef is very good there and I would recommend the Chateau Briand. its a little extra $ but worth it . Blue moon.. The buffet is also very good but can be a bit noisy timing is important here eat early in the morning they open at 6:30 am so you can grab some grub before you go  [... read more]on your early tours.and around 9 at nite. The pools are fun and they have pool parties as well. The guys at the bar are a fun bunch and no problems getting loads of drinks, and yes they come around and bring drinks as well. Beach is very nice and they try to keep all the sea weed picked up. Great for long walks I think about 4 km to Peorto Moralas , check out the nude beach on your way. Rooms were all clean and comfortable. They also have nightly entertainment it was hit and miss but still fun. Book this place and your in for a good time, CHEERS !

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Beautiful resort!

Resort absolutely beautiful. Friendly staff. The rooms were very spacious and modern. The resort was very clean. Resort upgraded us to a swim out room at the Eden and we were extremely happy. Food very delicious. Loved that the a la cartes dress code for men was casual and relaxed. Plenty of a la cartes and no reservations required. Very safe environment. Nightly entertainment was awesome. Lots of activities and no need to leave the resort. The only downfall was the house wine and the Mexica [... read more]n a la carte. Overall this resort we would highly recommend! And we will be returning in the future.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Nice and clean

The grounds crew take great pride making the area beautiful and accessible. Everything is kept clean, including the rooms. Our friends had a problem with cockroaches so for a new room. Our room was only 2 away but no issues. Coffee shop(Mikes) had excellent staff. Entertainment was really good some evenings and the house band were great. But they need to perform in the lobby or the theatre more regularly where there is more room. WiFi was a hassle. Wish there were sign ups for those who would l [... read more]ike to play tennis or set times so others would come to play as well. More choices at the snack bar and beach restaurant would be appreciated. None of the water equipment(catamaran, etc. )were ever available. How come?

Playa Vista Azul: Great resort

Room was modern and clean. Resort seemed modern and well maintained. Grounds were well maintained. Pool was lovely. Lots of seating at the pool and the two beaches and the infinity pool. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nobody bugged people to buy stuff. The view at the infinity pool is amazing. The colour of the sea is amazing. Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Five star except no toilets near the beach.

New, clean hotel with gorgeous beaches and lots of pools. But very large and spread out so be prepared for lots of walking. Food ok on buffet, but bland in the al la cartels. The entertainment was very good. Nice rooms with great shower. Worst thing was there were no toilet facilities near or on the beach area so you had to walk all the way back to the hotel which was far. Not ideal for women or if you got tummy issues. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great vacation

This was the second time that we have been to the Ocean Varadera El Patriarca. We went for sunshine and relaxation and certainly got that. The resort was clean and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Our maid was amazing and left some kind of blanket or towel animal on our bed every day to surprise and delight us. On the negative side: We only ate in the buffet and although the food was plentiful, it was not as good as the first time that we visited and the food that was supposed  [... read more]to be hot was frequently cold. We also found that the entertainment staff were not as good at engaging people to join into the activities. Overall it was a great vacation.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Love this place!

This was our second time at this hotel and once again we were very pleased! Can't say enough about the great service provided by all staff. We certainly enjoyed the gorgeous beach, we keep going to Cayo Santa Maria ( this was our 10th times) because of the unbelievable beach. Food, drinks and cleanliness all top notch. Don't forget we don't go to Cuba for the food we go to Cuba for the people and the beach. We never been sick because of food in Cuba and never lost a pound either lol.  [... read more] The staff at the lobby bar is the same as in 2016 and most actually recognized us, which was great. Love, love all the staff at the lobby bar and buffet (unfortunately can't remember all the names but I knew all the faces). Thumbs up to Hector and Victor at the buffet and the ladies at the lobby bar. Will certainly be back again.

Playa Vista Azul: AMAZING RESORT AND TRAVEL AGENT

Where do i start? From the time of booking which was with Candice Anger, until we returned home was amazing. We have never had such a wonderful holiday and relaxing time, as we did on this trip. Candice took great care of us as i have mobility issues, and the staff at the ocean vista azul were very amazing. i would rate this agent as a 10+ and the hotel as a 10 + and also sunwing excellent. We will defiantly return to this resort.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Needs some love, but fabulous beaches and amazing people!

My Friends and I truly enjoyed our Cuba experience. The staff were fabulous. Any issues we had were taken care of right away. There were some things that need to be changed about the resort. One thing was the washrooms were not tended to enough, not clean enough and they were never stocked of toilet paper. More garbage bins and cigarette disposals would have helped with the litter. Patrons of the resort did not respect that littering was unacceptable. As a non-smoker, I didn't appreciate  [... read more]that guests through cigarette butts anywhere and everywhere. Cuba is not known for gourmet food, but if you chose wisely you ate ok. The create your own pasta, rice, omelettes and pizza were great. Entertainment was also great. We enjoyed the bands after dinner with the spectacular view of the ocean. The Beaches were positively stunning! We made the best of the beautiful environment and people we travelled with and met in Cuba.

Was very pleased with the service , cleanliness and quality of food ! The only negative was the constant seaweed washing up on the beach but staff did a great job of cleaning up after Mother Nature . Would definitely return to Oceon Corral and Turquesa

Ocean Riviera Paradise: OK Resort

The Hotel was clean. Rooms spacious and clean. Beds comfortable. Beach was awful, and too dangerous for kids. They need more service staff. Service was lacking as the ones working there weren't able to keep up. kids shows are non existent. entertainment didn't start until 9:30pm so if you have kids, you're out of luck. wouldn't call it a family resort. They need to put some thought into entertaining kids. The Privilege club is a joke, don't waste your money. The time share sales people are push [... read more]y and annoying and they follow you everywhere. Food was good, but desserts were awful. Mostly cookies or tasteless desserts. Nice coffee shop and kids loved the icecream shop.

Playa Vista Azul: Better than average

Resort was pretty.... great pools and beaches!.The food was better than the average cuban hotel. The drinks weren’t the best!! The wine was horrible and the lobby bar had no straws!! If your looking for quiet nights then this hotel is for you. I personally like a little more action at night!! The hotel lobby shuts down early and there is no disco.... i will definitely be back to varadero but i will stay in the city where the action and good times are....
