Sol Palmeras: Never Disappointed

Had an amazing time once again. This was my eighth time at Sol Palmeras. The grounds are immaculate, the staff always friendly, the beaches are one of the best in the world. We didn’t do any excursions but enjoyed the warmth of the sun and relaxed. The food never disappoints us, we did mostly ala Carts. Would definitely be going back next year. Y

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Just ok

Staff very friendly tried their best. Not that clean we asked for water never got it. Man in our hotel waited 3 days for them to fix his shower.Linen and towels not clean. Long line ups for food. We understand CubaHas difficulty getting things that is not a problem for us.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Another pleasant visit

We recently returned from our third visit to PRO in six years, and in most respects this lovely resort still delivers a very satisfactory tropical vacation. The beach and it’s healthy coral reef, although altered frequently by tropical storms, remain the main attraction for us along with the beautiful grounds and low-rise architecture that fits well into its national park setting. Staff also continue to be very friendly and approachable. So if food is not a priority, we continue to recommend this resort.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Nice resort

Average hotel. Rooms average, clean. Restaurants very good. The buffet was good but meals were repetitious. Beach and pool were beautiful and clean. The drinks at the outside bars were not very good, but hotel drinks were very tastey. Was good place to stay for the value

Melia Cayo Coco: Wonderful Resort

We were at this resort from Feb 8 to Feb 15th. The resort was awesome, the beach was fantastic and the food delicious. Definitely would recommend this resort to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation. Grounds were very well maintained.

Melia Marina Varadero: Disappointing resort

Hello, just sending an email about the horrible experience we had at our stay at the Melia Marina Varadero. We arrived on Feb 7 late at night due to the flight being delayed. When we woke up the next morning to go for breakfast it was terrible there were a bunch of servers standing around not one individual approached us to ask if we wanted a drink or anything so we left and went out to get our own drink outside. So we attempted the lunch hour and dinner hour in the buffet area the same thing [... read more] no approach by anyone for a drink I think its completely wrong that we pay for an all inclusive resort and get this kind of customer service. Very disappointed with every night with the same kind of experience. The rooms weren't cleaned properly we had no clean towels no water replenished in the room had to go down to the customer service area and ask for clean towels and water in the room. We had issues with the room card went to customer service things weren't handled properly we got sent back to the room and had to wait for someone to come and fix the door for us we waited about 25 minutes for someone to come and open the door. My boyfriend had gone downstairs to complain to the front and asked to speak to a manager because we were both fed up at this point with how things were handled and they literally did nothing for us we even told them we would pack up our stuff and go to a different hotel as how they handle situations. Alot of other people were complaining and the way they spoke and handled situations were disgusting. My boyfriend was offered from them a bottle of rum to the room the next day we had nothing. The room Stuart wasn't on top of the room cleanliness. Over all the WORSE experience definitely not a 5 star hotel. On the night before we were leaving we figured we would enjoy and make the best of what was left, we had gone for dinner no service once again, we had gone to the piano bar for drinks the line up was so long and the wait was long. We sat outside to have drinks and watch the entertainment not a single sever approached us I had to go get my own drinks in which i had to waste half the time just standing at the bar waiting to be served almost half and hour waited for drinks, they screwed up on all the drinks had people in behind the bar that had no clue what they were doing and didn't speak a word of English. The entertainment guy had come outside and sat with a couple ladies and had full service while we were sitting there and not getting any drinks. I want a reimbursement for this terrible experience and I will never go back to this resort ever again and wont recommend it to anyone to go. Very terrible service and not the rating that they say it is. If someone can please email me back with a compromise or something. I hadn't been to cuba since 2009 and this was the worse to the point I don't think I would go back there ever again. Also want to add we went to the buffet where they had made the chicken in front of you and when we took it to the table it was red blood coming out that was so discussing to see it turned us away from it and we wouldn’t touch any meat. As well as they gave us a complementary room to use after we had checked out of the hotel on Feb 14 the room was so dirty piss all over the toilet there were used towels all over the floor I had to go back to the front desk and ask them for fresh towels for the room and not to mention we only had a half an hour to use the room and we had to wait for them to bring us towels as time was wasting. I don’t think I’d ever go back to this resort after all this terrible experience. They may want to reconsider there star rating as well.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Three stars

Thankful for wonderful bars and waitress staff, but customer service staff were not helpful at all. Issues with hot water and balcony door not closing and we were on bottom floor.called customer services but not mush help there. Called about la k of hot water and bathroom flooded and they brought us clean towels at 10 o’clock at night but no one to clean up flood. beach- all varadero beach is exceptional food-because of the embargo the food is not good in regards to variety.example bacon twice in 7 days.you will always find something.oj is rare. service-from poor to very good.example fridge not stocked daily because maid said they do not have it.room is clean. shower-hand held shower only with no hot water or water pressure.not exceptable for a true 5* star resort. grounds-excellent.everything is very close together. nightly entertainment is a 3* at  [... read more]best.no Michael Jackson,no audience participation,no fire shows etc.. no small bottles of water for day trips. bank on resort open 24-7-is a bonus. not enough chairs during night shows a lot of people especially older had to stand up.poorly organized.

Melia Las Dunas: Family vacation at its best.

This was our second time at Meliá las Dunas. Hotel is great. Beach is one of the nicest I’ve been to in the World. Pools are large, clean and fun to be around. Rooms fantastic. Food was above average for our standards. Some times they were out of certain items on the menu but that’s what happens in Cuba. Lastly. The staff were out of this World. Melia Las Dunas: Great family trip!

We travelled with 3 families; 6 adults and 7 kids, and had the best time. This was our second time at this resort. We were able to get our rooms beside each other which was fantastic for the kids. The grounds were so clean, staff so nice, beautiful beach and pool. We have nothing but good things to say about this resort. We hope we can go back again someday, until next time!

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great Resort

Great week! Staff very welcoming! Beach was incredible, that was the best!! Nice entertainment at the lobby at night! Food was ok .....for Cuba!! The only thing that I can complain about is the booking of « Restaurants à la Carte ». You have to go book every morning and never had the time I wanted so it was always late at night. But we had an awesome week and would probably go back!!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Don’t go

Awful food, poor service, no wine is not acceptable at an all inclusive, last day there no vodka ridiculous Will never return to Cuba employees all seemed tip hungry, I expected service. Not changing my bathroom towels the whole trip was another thing that disturbed me... I threw towels on the ground and the maid just hung up the dirty towel. The mini fridge was never stocked after asking 5 times... oh once they put 2 beers in it. Thx

Melia Varadero: Great Vacation

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay this past week at the Amelia Varadaro. Our room was clean and comfortable with a large balcony. All the staff that we encountered whether at our room, in the bars, in the a la cart, or the buffets or the front desk we were treated well and felt very comfortable. The warmth and kindness of the Cuban people keeps bringing us back.

Melia Jardines del Rey: good value and great staff

The food was good and a good selection. There were a couple of pig roasts. Probably the best place ever to book an a la carte meal. Staff was friendly, grounds were well maintained. Really liked the coffee at the lobby bar. Able to get a good selection of coffees. Good entertainment. Rooms were large and cleaning staff did a good job. Had an issue with a clogged drain in the shower and it was taken care of right away. Was able to get a late checkout which in 15+ years of going down south we  [... read more]were never able to before.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Melia Cayo Santa Maria

7 day trip with 8 in our party. 4 adults and 4 children. Resort was easy to get around and not a ton of walking for small children. We loved the small units with minimal stairs. Beach was beautiful and well maintained. Pools clean and great swim up bar. Internet never worked and had to pay 2-3 times over even though we never connected. If you have work to do, dont bother going to this resort as you will be in trouble. Food typical for cuba.

Melia Marina Varadero: Nice resorst great location for us specious 1 bdrm apt

Over all it's a good experience, this is our 2nd time at the same resort, there was little glitch at checking in time where the toilet seat cover was broken, when I asked for to be replaced, surprisingly I was told that isn't possible? no explanation why, then I was offered a room instead of the studio which I paid for, of course I refused. the house keeping manager Lucia after telling her that we are a repeated guest, she offered us complimentary upgrade to a 1 bedroom apartment. Food is bi [... read more]t better than last year, entertainment was very good, the only thing I noticed the cleaning I mean the house keeping last year was bit better as pillow covers were smelly because of the pillows themselves weren't clean. We asked for replacement. One thing we didn't like at all also some other guests we spoke with had similar complain is the mattress, it was awful, broken springs impossible to sleep on, we slept on the couch in the living room which was somehow better. This would be the reason if I don't go to this resort again.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Objective review

This is my 3rd time at this resort and this time we stayed 2 weeks. It is a nice resort but some maintenance is starting to show that is required to maintain the resort rating. The grounds are well maintain. The beach is nice but lack of chairs is becoming an issue. Availability will increase after lunch. Towels availability was fine. Rooms are ok but will need some updates soon as in my case, some stains in wall, couch, covers, were showing. I will recommend the lobster lunch at the Ra [... read more]nch buffet near the beach ($20) they will set up a table for you and include a bottle of sparkling wine and you can select a bottle of wine for around $7. Talk to Eloy (captain) and Elizabetha for an excellent service and great job done by the chef aka as The Mexican. We did it twice. The service provided by Judith and Brandys in the main lobby was excellent. Service en general was great in all areas. Food was good and they keep it coming. The only negative opinion is for the restaurants, menu wasn't the greatest and why trying to make look by 5 * ended up not having the dishes in the menu and portions were so small we ended up going to the buffet for desert or some more food. Be aware of mosquitoes ( they told me they are not mosquitoes but sand flies,which never saw them). They didn't bother us in previous visit but this time they were in abundance. Good time and good weather.

Melia Las Americas: Great resort,fun,sand and golf

All staff very kind and friendly. Totally recommend this place. Food was also great. We had 7 ala cart restaurant settings during our 10 day stay, with the availability to do beach BBQ for lunch and full buffets for breakfast. This was our 3rd trip and plan to go again.

Melia Cayo Coco: Overall good resort

Beach was amazing even with the wind. One dislike was the “reserving” of beds and chairs by the pool. Food in the buffet was plentiful and good; however, the al a cartel could have been better especially the beach bar al a carte. Vegetarian items at the al a cartes were not well noted even though there was apparently a vegetarian menu. When the vegetarian menu was requested, none of the restaurants knew about it.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Relaxing resort

Amazing beach , grounds well kept . Friendly staff , always willing to help . This resort is getting a little old and some rooms need attention . Good variety of food at the buffet . Lacking real fruit juice , compare to last year . Very pleasant stay overall .
