Loved the service, housekeeping was fantastic, restaurants were are wonderful. Can't say enough good things of all staff. The resort was always spotless, the grounds were kept beautifully, the beach was weed free and the water was crystal clear.

Villa Del Palmar Cancun: Truly a beautiful resort
The Hotel is well layer out . Beautiful grounds , every corner has something to discover , fire pits , hot tubs . Pools , bars , and many more amenities .
95 % of the staff are very good to exceptional . Dinning . La Casona excellent . We ate some wonderful lunches at Zama , the service and food were better than very good .. Hiroshi. Again very good . Caprichos for breakfast. Great tasty assortment . Quick service . Indian food could be better. Davino had some excellent food , our waiter seem to[... read more] lack interest in our table . But a quick thinking busboy was quick to see our need and went out of his way to help us.Bite restaurant , no service for at least 7 minutes. We had to call a waiter over. Drinks were slow . Finally a young lady became our waiter and the service was excellent . We met at lobby bar every evening at 5.00 pm , the bar tender and server , well they were exceptional , we met several wonderful couples there . Meeting people is one of my favourite holiday pastimes and I was not disappointed. Everyone we talked to loved the resort with no complaints even when I asked them if they saw any problems Nope .
I felt no pressure from the time share people and talked with several who purchased and were very happy with what they received for their investment
This is a perfect place to bring children. The kids definitely had a great time .
3804 great view .Our room was very comfortable and well kept , thanks to housekeeping .
Room service was very quick .
Beautiful turquoise waters , took the fast ferry to Isle Mujeres. Fumes from vehicles not very pleasant . Local restaurants and a cool Sol beer . Rented a taxi on the Isle $30 US. Victor gave us a tour for couple hrs . Met some intresting locals on the local bus . Felt safe the whole time .
Biggest problem is that we are walkers And felt that the walking space is limited .
Weddings. wow beautiful place to tie the knot .
Over all would highly recommend this resort . Cheers , try it you will like it !

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Spectacular View
The grounds were well kept & public areas very clean alll the time. The rooms were very spacious We had an
oceanview room and were on the 8th floor; the view was spectacular! The a la carte restaurants were excellent; the staff were very attentive and the food was very enjoyable. The only thing we found difficult at this resort was the stone walkways around the resort; they were uneven and difficult to walk on all the time. My husband and I are in our sixties and found this cumbersome; we const[... read more]antly had to watch our feet to make sure we didn't trip. We talked to a couple of people in their wheel chairs and using walkers and this was a problem for them as well. You can tell this is an older resort just from looking at the first set of stairs we encountered going from the lobby to the main grounds and also the bridge going from the main grounds over to the bikini bar.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Okay
The room I stayed in was not the cleanest. The floors were not scrub every time the maid cleaned the room. This is the first resort where I had to pay for wi-fi for the second device. The time shares personnel are located in the front lobby and throughout the resort and they are very pushy. It did matter how many times we said no we were not interested to stop bugging us they would still bug us.The front lobby never had any small bills to exchange. They would tell you to come back tomorrow every t[... read more]ime. The pool at the back of the resort did not have hand rails to get into the pool, the hand rails were located approximately 3 feet from the edge of the pool. So you would have to step down into the pool without any hand rails. The pool down at the beach only had two locations that had the hand rails right at the edge of the pool. The pool at the beach was huge.We only spent two days at the beach pool because there was an odour that smelt like sewer. The pool side waiters were hit and miss. They did not come around very often. We were there for two weeks. The staff for the restaurants were great.

Tesoro Manzanillo: Relaxing
Overall a good place to,stay. Lots of locals with kids so it gets pretty wild at times but fun. A la cartes were great and Marco is excellent at making the time enjoyable. Hot food in the buffet should be hotter but there's lots of variety. Beach sand gets really hot between 12 and 4 but the staff do provide service on the beach. Tipping always helps.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Baiha PrÃncipe Coba
The resort was lovely. Beautiful grounds and main buildings. Shared spaces and rooms we clean. Pools were clean. Staff were continuously cleaning and maintaining but were friendly and unobtrusive. A la cart and buffets were fantastic. Concerns/problems were dealt with in a timely manner with courteous and helpful staff. Really the only Issues encountered were VERY hard beds (slept poorly-even my husband complained and he can sleep on almost anything) - we heard the same complaints from other gue[... read more]sts - that they could not help us with, we only received one hour of Internet per day free then you had to pay and we were required to pay a daily fee for a room safe which is essential. For an all inclusive stay we were rather surprised at these additional fees.

Riu Flamingos: Great resort for the price!
After reading other reviews we were not sure what to expect but honestly I have no clue what people are complaining about! Great food options, had no problems making reservations for the al a carte. The resort definitely is busy but it was upsetting to see that people save so many beach chairs with their towel yet don't sit there all day! But that says nothing about the resort, it was the guests!

Sunscape Cancun Resort and Spa: Absolutely fantastic!
The food was excellent, the staff were super nice and our room was great.
We never had to wait to eat and if we asked for something not visible at the buffet, they went and got it for us. The pool-side and beach service was fast and frequent. The check in was a slow process but the checkout went much faster. The buses were frequent and cheap to go shopping.
I would not hesitate to go back. Had a great time in the ocean jumping the waves.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Very impressed!
The grounds were immaculate! Food exceeded our expectations. Staff were very friendly! Large resort but lots to do and see! Loved the amount of beach front. Beds were very comfortable compared to other resorts we have stayed at. Would definetly do this one again. Great bang for your buck! This trip was just myself and my wife, however, I would return to this resort with my kids as there was a great set up on site to entertain kids and a long list of daily activitys for them!

Hyatt Zilara Cancun: Very Nice
The staff were wonderful, the hotel was clean and in good repair, any concerns were addressed promptly. It was our first time to the Hyatt Zilara and I asked if we could have a room away from the lobby as they can be loud, we were offered an upgrade to an ocean view room from a standard, the view was perfect and rarely was there any noise to speak of. The hotel never felt crowded but at times the lobby and beach bar were over whelmed which was no fault of the staff, even so a drink was never far[... read more] away. We ate at standard meal times and always found plenty of room in the restaurants. The spice(buffet) never appeared to be picked over or lacking items, it was always kept clean and organized. The restaurants each had very good menu's, the food and service wonderful. Me and my wife enjoyed some excellent meals together which led to conversations and moments that we are normally to busy to have. We made use of the Spa and the gym, the latter being a bit small but I understand this is soon to be addressed with a new larger gym. The evening entertainment was fun, we both enjoyed the variety. The outside pool area and ocean side lounging was very serviced well and comfortable, the one complaint I would make that affected us was when guests would take 4 towels each and reserve themselves 4 separate spots. I know that its a problem where ever you go but with no limits on how many towels you could have there was no limit on how many spots you could reserve. We went to sit out a few times and although we did find a place to sit you couldn't help but notice the abuse by certain individuals. All and all it was a good experience, I'd go again in a heart beat.

All Ritmo Cancun Resort And Waterpark: great resort for the kiddies!
ROOMS WERE VERY CLEAN/COMFORTABLE
The first room we had overlooked the street/parking lot and was located on the 3rd floor of the hotel. As we were travelling with my 74 year old Mother this was not exactly conducive. This room had 2 double beds and was also clean. But needed some updates. This room had an old TV,no balcony, no fridge, no coffee maker, no ironing board….basically NO FRILLS. I immediately went down to the front desk to ask about moving to a “standard room†on the main floor[... read more] as we were travelling with my Mom. They were incredibly accommodating. The front desk staff showed me a standard room on the main floor and offered for us to change immediately. This room was MUCH nicer than the original room. It had 2 queen size beds, a small kitchenette, flat screen TV a nice balcony (albeit it also overlooked the road), and a step down into a small living area with a pullout couch. I made the mistake of asking to see a room with an ocean view…..kiss of death!!! It was SO worth it! It had all the amenities (exact replica of the 2nd room) with a beautiful oceanview!! The upgrade was offered at an additional $25/night. It was steep….but worth it!
Everything inside the room worked well. TV, phone, coffee maker, fridge, water pressure. All good!
SERVICE
Service was impeccable in ALL areas of the hotel. From the front desk staff, the bellhops, the bar service, food service. They even had bar service at the pools and they would bring it to your seat. I didn’t find that “tipping†was expected, but the level of service received if you tipped was top notch. Not like other destinations (like Jamaica and if you don’t have $$ out you don’t get a drink). I would say tipping was expected but it certainly was appreciated. I would recommend asking for things. Ketchup was hard to find outside of the snack bar but if you asked, it was always available. My son struggled finding things to eat outside of the snack bar and a couple of times I asked for peanut butter to make him a sandwich. Never a problem.
GENERAL CLEANLINESS
Overall you could tell the hotel spent considerable resources on maintaining the level of cleanliness in both the inside of the resort as well as the pool areas, washrooms etc. They maintained the beach by raking at least 2-3 times a day. It was VERY windy while we were there so there was some wash up but it was tended to and removed. The landscaping was also immaculate. It was incredibly overgrown in and around they have done an amazing job with the upkeep.
FOOD
This would be one of the only areas they really need to improve upon. I would say the food was “hit and missâ€. Breakfast was always good. Everyone was able to find lots of things to enjoy. Same with lunch….although most days we had lunch at the snack bar so the kids were incredibly happy. Hot dogs, hamburgs (were REALLY good), chicken nuggets, French fries, finger foods. They also always had fruits and veggies. We did eat at the buffet at lunch a few days as well and the food was decent. I usually had no problem finding something to eat. Large selection of salad fixings which was where we usually landed at that time of the day. Dinner…..different story. The buffet was monotonous and the temperature of the food could have been much better. But again. hit and miss. Some nights were really good….some nights it was difficult to find something for everyone. That being said. We never went hungry! The a’la carte restaurants were few and far between. They only had 3 available at the resort and they rotated so each night was a different night. We tried the Mexican. It was a fail….for everyone! We also attended the Italian and it was the best meal we had all week……but that wasn’t saying much!!!
ENTERTAINMENT
Staff was very friendly but there wasn’t much interaction with the guests. They had nightly shows in the theatre across the road which weren’t great…..but the kids enjoyed them. They did have a dinner/show on Saturday night which was Michael Jackson. This was by far the best night of entertainment, but the food was a miss this night.
Overall, we had a great time. I would say the information provided by tripadvisor was on par with this resort. It is a very small resort which made experiences with other travellers intimate. You really got to know who everybody was and so did the kids which was great for them. The pools were shallow enough that you didn’t have to be in the water with them. Although they could have been a tad bit warmer. The waterpark was AMAZING!!! We spent most of our days over there as the kids had a great time!!!
This resort (other than the food) is completely geared towards the kids. I would NOT recommend this resort to those travelling without kids. in my opinion, I would rate this hotel overall at 3.5 stars. The service for me could bump this to a 4 star.

El Cid El Moro Beach: Resort just OK
The El Sid El Moro tower was great in itself. Our room was excellent and the staff always helpful and friendly.
We I didn't like the fact that before we were able to go to our room we were given information re a presentation we were to attend the next day. We explained that we were not going to be able to travel again for health reasons but the individual would not take no for an answer.
We slept in and missed the time for our presentation the next day and told them
it would be wasting our time [... read more]as well as theirs but they insisted we go the next day..We went and explained again our circumstances and finally they capitulated and asked if the $100.00 US could go to the individual who was going to give us the presentation . We said yes..
We were not impressed with most of their meals and they didn't come close to the meals we had enjoyed at the Royal Solaris in Cabo..
We went to the one restaurant one night that you didn't need to make reservation for and found out it was way over in the far corner of the other building.. My husband can not walk far before he is in a great deal of pain so it was very difficult for him to get there and back. We noticed that the restaurants that you needed to make reservations for were half empty but we were told if we hadn't made a reservation we couldn't go in.!! They re playing loud music in this restaurant and before we finished eating the started a bingo game. Not what one wants to hear while eating.
.When enjoying the sun while sitting around the pool but were inundated with loud music followed by bingo. That we did not enjoy! Available lounge chairs are difficult to find unless you are down at the pool early..
We also would recommend that individuals going to El Sid for the first time be given a list of what is included in their all inclusive.as it is very confusing. One night we returned following a night out with friends and my husband needed a snack as he is diabetic. When I ordered from the room service menu I was told we were not entitled to that. We were able to receive our order though when I said we would pay for it when it was delivered.
We spent most of our time visiting with friends we had made while staying in Mar-A Villa RV park over many winters.
We did appreciate that we could get a Canadian as well as a few American channels on the TV.

Secrets Vallarta Bay: Near perfect resort.
The overall of this resort was Excellent. It wasn't 'perfect' so I can't give it 5 stars.
What was perfect was the following:
Service
Cleanliness
Bed
Activities within the resort
French Restaurant - Best meal I have had in a LONG time.
What could be improved(minor quibbles):
In room amenities(HD channels, soaps etc)
Room service food quality - It was very poor. Compared to other resorts I have been to it felt lacking.
VIP perks. I am not sure it was worth the extra money. They need to [... read more]do more to charge the extra money.

I stayed in building 14. It is about a 10 minute walk to the beach. The food was pretty good, but the a-la cartes were always full. We could only get into the a-la-carte's at 9pm. The pool area was quite nice and the beaches were well maintained, but the pools were not heated. The worst part of this resort was the layout of the room. It is really weird. Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Needs some updating but food & service excellent!
The Blue Bay is definitely in need of some TLC. Our room had a musty smell however we didn't spend much time there and it didn't bother us once we ha been there a few days. The staff was wonderful. Efficient, happy, friendly and there is no lack of cleaning going on. Food also very very good both in the buffet and a la carte restaurants. Wifi in the room was almost non-existent which was disappointing. Beach in front of the resort was murky and rocky however just a 10 minute walk down the beach [... read more]brings you to a gorgeous lagoon area with crystal blue water.
