Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach: Great time had by all

The food was great. the hotel area was kept very clean. our rooms were very well-maintained and we had no problems. beach were very good and people were very friendly overall it was a great place to go to. the entertainment staff also were very good.

Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach: Amazing Bahama Vacation!

We do not have anything to compare it to since this was our 1st all inclusive vacation. The beach was amazing & private, you could walk for miles. Loved that there were no other resorts beside us. The food was good, many choices and always plenty of it. The resort was very clean and modern. The staff & activities throughout the week were fantastic! We had a great stay and would recommend this resort! Only downfall was the annoying locals trying to sell you stuff on the beach. Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach: Amazing Resort.

Ben & I was with a party of eight to celebrate an 80th birthday and also a 65th. We would like you to know that this Resort (Viva Wyndham, Freeport) met everyone's expectations. With a variety of ages, everyone was kept busy with the entertainment. Our accommodations were top of the line, the food was great, the staff friendly and al a cartes were very good.

Memories Grand Bahama: could be better

I thought the beach was wonderful and the weather amazing but other than than just average. The rooms were not as clean as I would have wanted, the service was slow. The ala carte restaraunts were not always open due to a shortage of staff I believe.

Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach: It's a nice resort

After reading the reviews I was hesitant to book this resort, but I am glad I did, It is good for the money you pay. We cared more about the beach , swimming and sun than food. It was very clean , a solid three star, plenty of food but tasteless. We had to pick and chose from all the variety that the restaurant offers. One of the chefs was Italian and you would think pasta would be tasty, but it was always overlooked.! Don't bother booking the Pizza restaurant. It's not worth. We liked the Japan [... read more]ese restaurant and their menu. Staff was friendly , the entertainment was good and al, the facilities we used were good. Tennis court was superb. It is nice that they try to keep the restaurant clean, but I couldn t stand the fact that there was always someone with the broom cleaning and picking up among the tables while people eating ! Another thing that I notice is the way the glasses (plastic!) at the bar are being cleaned! Very poorly, so I would suggest bring your own cup. Do not forget like we did !!

food was good all other stuff ok except entertainment really sucked or lack of. People were friendly staff polite and slow but that ok. Entertainment was no more then the half hour of dance or music with the same people

Memories Grand Bahama: Poor maintenance

Rooms need to be renovated deeply... I had to change my room because of water dripping. And I know that I wasn't the first one and definitely not the last one who had to change the room. The best description for the stuff- Lazy. The positive part was the beach...

No major concerns, I certainly would not want anyone to go by my comments...lobby & rooms were clean but dated; the grounds were nice; friendly staff was hit or miss; awesome beach and pool; food was excellent.

We were at the Memories Grand Bahamas from April 15-22. We previously cancelled a trip to Dominican Republic because I'm pregnant. The only place we could go that was Zika free was the Bahamas. We were going there with very little expectations since we read a lot of bad reviews about this place. We were surprised because it was a lot better than we expected. At night we needed a sweater. The hotel is older with carpet in the rooms but it's clean. We upgraded to ocean view with Balcony and we were very happy about that. Other couples with us had an island view room with no balcony and were ok with their rooms too. (you are only in there to shower and sleep). The food was amazing! Steakhouse, Japanese and Italian were all very good. Japanese you reserve in the morning. Steak and Italian you line up at 5:45 to get in. We were a group of 10 and it was never an issue. Buffet was always very good as well. No complaints on food and service. The bars always runs out of straws (it' hard to drink frozen drink with no straw) but we read it on other reviews and brought are own straws. It was all good. We were 5 couples. The guys played golf next door. Free unlimited green fees but mandatory cart fee of $48US per person. They all loved it. They said the golf course was beautiful. Chairs in buffet are stained and could use a nice steam clean wash, but it didn't bother the service and the amazing food. Small resort where everything is closed by. We loved it! All and all, no complaints about this hotel. Nice market across the street for all your shopping need. Great service! Great beach! Great food!

Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach: Overall decent for value priced

When we arrived we were happy it was hot at the viva whyndam in Bahamas. We took a cab from the airport to be the bus of people and were checked in quickly. Our bags aware brought to our room by a nice guy. Our room was not good at all. There was mold in the corners in the bathroom. Bed was squeaky but comfortable. All linens were white and new. They were both just ok. The buffet was really good for us. If you like rice veggies and proteins you can always find it. They have theme nights for food too like bbq night was grilled steak, Chinese night with sweet n sour chicken and spring rolls, Mexican night with tequila and burritos, roast ham like a Hawaiian night. We didn't go to pizza but everyone said it was good. There are no straws on the resort so if you want fancy drinks bring straws. The cappuccinos are amazing and I don't drink coffee. We did not do any excursions we just sat back and enjoyed the beautiful amazing beach. You can snorkel a small area off the beach and gear is free. There is a fair amount of seaweed patches in the water so bring water shoes if you want but there is sandy paths you can go to. Never an issue getting a chair at beach or pool area. We didn't make it to any of the night shows. Night life is not a big thing however there is a disco where animation team joins in every night. If you want quiet relaxing it's great. There is nothing around so if you want to shop you have to pay a cab to take you there. We stayed at memories too down the road. I would stay at viva for the food and beach and memories for amenities and restaurants. Can't say enough about the beach it is beautiful. If that's what you want you will get it here. I'm happy for the price we paid and what we got but I'm not a princess either. It's a 3* and that's what you will get in Bahamas. Same as a 4+ in Dominican or Cuba.

Memories Grand Bahama: Excellent resort

The room was in great shape. The maid was friendly and the daily cleaning was impeccable. The grounds were well kept, the pool was cleaned daily. The buffet was excellent, with lots of choice. The service was a little slow, but that's "Bahamian time": stop and slow. The drinks were strong, the club and casino were great. The marketplace had plenty to choose from as well. Memories Grand Bahama: Bad memories

We were lock out on our balcony,put into a room with a bad view,an air conditioner that was very loud,mini frig was not filled every day,public bathrooms were not fully operational,but the food was good the staff wonderful especially the diamond club bartenders. We were there for two weeks and never did recieve an apology from the maintance manager!!

Memories Grand Bahama: Slightly disappointed

The resorts is older which typically isn't an issue for us, however it is not well maintained. Our room was carpeted and smelled very heavy of smoke. We requested it be vacuumed but it was never done. Maintenance of this resort overall has not been kept up over the years. There are many things that can be improved upon. Service was NOT as good as we hoped. "Service with a smile" is a concept lost over here ... so is timeliness of service. We could only praise 5 servers from the entire trip that deserved it. The evening shows were horrible to put it nicely. We attended for a wedding which was very nice, however most of the pre-wedding work was done by the bride herself. I felt bad as the bride and groom apologized to their 20+ guests on their selection (mostly due to the poor service). Overall we're very disappointed with this resort.

Memories Grand Bahama: Beautiful beach, but filthy hotel

The beach that this resort is on is simply amazing, beautiful and long. The pool on the other hand was nothing to write home about, and the water looked dirty. Unfortunately, the so called 4 star resort was filthy. Yes we knew it was an older resort, and yes we knew the bathrooms would be small, but nobody said anything about the filth. Pelican Bay: Great trip, would reccomend

Rooms were basic but kept clean and staff were pleasant. Grounds were a delight, many trees and flowering bushes made for great ambiance. The pools were all clean with plenty of chairs and lounges with cushions put out every morning. All in all, it was good.

Memories Grand Bahama: Great resort and friendly

Overall, was a great stay, Neg. was carpets in the rooms have to be changed. Musty odor and the same with the couches and chairs. Only minor things. Food ,drinks and people all great. Had a great time with my long time friends.

Very clean everywhere, beach is beautiful, pool is great lots of room to move about. Rooms were very nice and clean, loved the kid park and teenage area...caters to all. The only snag was the bar service... really slow.

good resort for the price we paid...yes there were about 300 spring breakers....but for most they were polite, and the resort had a separate line up at the bar for regular guest and then one for students which was nice....staff at resort very friendly....the ocean and swimming area quite rocky of be aware...did the snorkeling with the shark tour very good....one thing no straws for your drinks and no slurpee drinks..but good food and good drinks...nice small resort...if you forgot something in y [... read more]our room it was no more that 5 min back to your room....

Memories Grand Bahama: Good resort

Food was good throughout and beach is beautiful. The service was hit and miss. Some staff members go out of their way to help and others completely ignore you. Beach bartenders were especially cold and ignorant.

Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach: Beautiful resort!

Loved the resort. The rooms were big and bright. We had a king bed. The food was good. Beach did have some rock but good snorkelling just outside the roped off area. If you like to walk on th beach this is the place to go.
