The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Amazing Resort
This resort was one of my favourite resorts that I’ve been to The food was amazing. The alcohol was upgraded. The people were extremely helpful that worked there and everything was very clean. I have nothing bad to say about this resort. I will definitely be going back there.
Bahia Principe Escape Tequila: Bahía Príncipe Tequila
Very nice “adult only” section amongst the Coba section. Entertainment is very loud all day and until almost 1:00am. No poolside service so there’s a line up at the pool bar most of the time. No room service. The buffet was very good. The beach was unswimmable with all the seaweed. Only one spot to get drinks at the beach and was a line up all the time. I would go back to the Sian Ka’an next time. The room was very nice and I had a king bed.
Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Decline in Quality and Value
This resort is just okay. We stayed in the same resort 2 years ago and there has been a material decline in quality and very inconsistent levels of service, which we heard from everyone. Some of the restaurants (higher end) were still excellent. The quality of booze was weak. We were unable to get any alcohol in our room except beer (wine was over $60 USD). It was impossible to get small pesos to provide tips, had to literally make change from the tip jars. Every drink was filled with aspart [... read more]
Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Beautiful Resort
We loved our stay. Amazing service and food. Access to 4 other resorts. Loved that our resort was farther from the others. It was more private and had more of a jungle vibe. We got to see spider monkeys from the pool. Unfortunately, the beaches were full of seaweed and inaccessible.
Moon Palace Cancun: Absolutely love this resort!
This resort ticks all of my boxes. Very clean, great food, grounds are beautiful, staff are wonderful. Didn't want to come back. This was my third time at this resort. Had a spectacular view of the gulf from our balcony.
Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Wonderful Resort!
We absolutely love Akumal Bay Beach & Spa Resort. The service is outstanding-every staff member is so kind and welcoming. (Thank you to Aurora for our wonderful breakfasts each morning!) Oceanfront rooms, a beautiful beach just steps away, and incredible snorkeling right off the shore made this stay unforgettable. The resort has a smaller, intimate feel-you quickly feel connected, like you’re part of it… truly a “welcome home” experience. Great food (especially at Kooben), and the yoga and [... read more]
Bahia Principe Escape Tequila: Very Clean and New
Amazing pool, confusing at first as you get use to where things are. The pool and staff are amazing. Would highly recommend. Nice that it is adult only - but yet close to the next resort over which is family based.
Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Very good resort. Just thought the beach was very disapointing.
Just one down fall. The rooms are far from the main areas. .We went to lay on the beach, very windy lots of seaweed. i wish we could have spent time at the beach. Would go at different time of year. Otherwise overall it was worth it.
Ocean Riviera Paradise: Lovely Family Resort
My family of seven had a lovely week at Ocean Riviera Paradise. Would definitely consider a fourth stay here. Good food and excellent service! I found the kids pool was very busy but the other pools were more quiet.
Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Luxury Beyond Expectation
Thank you Nicole Deforest for organizing the most amazing vacation! Now for the review: this hotel goes above and beyond to ensure a luxurious vacation. The food was incredible, the grounds were spotless and lush and the employees were gracious and incredibly helpful. Antonio and José, the pool’s concierge did an incredible job of ensuring everyone at the main pool had a clean, fresh towel and shade. I loved the fact that there were no “chair wars” at the pool. Dinners were wonderful. T [... read more]
Ocean Riviera Paradise: Disappointing!
The food situation is extremely frustrating. You are not allowed to take food out anywhere. You can only get a few fried items on the takeout menu. We were there with the baby and it was extremely difficult to eat when we wanted to. We had to constantly eat the same thing because babies aren’t always able to go into restaurants. Very frustrating!
El Dorado Seaside Palms: El Dorado Palms
Overall, the stay was conventional. There were moments during the vacation when it was impressive, however most of the time I found the resort and employees lacked the five-star polish. The greenery was outstanding, the entire resort itself was clean and my room was well-kept. The food, service, pleasantries from staff, beverages was hit and miss. I was very disappointed with the culinary selection, the food was definitely a three-star. The one spot where I found the environment to b [... read more]
El Dorado Maroma: Tired in need of multiple repairs
The restaurant staff is what makes this place fabulous, management could use a retraining! This resort does not represent trip central at all! Were Constantly harassed of time sharing to get perks, not memorable! Also did not get the room I expected after paying an upgrade ended up in original room before upgrade Monique was awesome she jumped hoops for us
Barcelo Maya Tropical: Nice resort.
It was a very large resort easy to get turned around. The buffet was well stocked .The staff friendly. A little bit of a language barrier. But with a little persistent things were usually figured out.The rooms were spacious and clean. We requested a ground floor but found it damp.we asked to change rooms and the request was granted on the second day.

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: Would definitely go back
This hotel was well maintained and staffed with very friendly and helpful people. It was not a party hotel and provided for a laid back and relaxing time. The food was very good and the bars were well stocked. My only suggestions are these: they should have a map of the building posted here and there as navigating to and from the elevators was not simple at first. The Lola Beach should be fully accessible ( I have MS and use a walker and was not able to go in and finally , maybe more s [... read more]
El Dorado Seaside Palms: Nearly perfect!
We spent a week here and had a wonderful time. So much so that we didn't feel the need to leave the resort. The food, drinks, activities, ambiance, and the guests were all a pleasure. We stayed in the garden view suites which in hindsight was a good choice because I could imagine the ones that are facing the beach and closer to the amenities could be loud. The food was great, and with the slightest bit of planning you can get everything that you need. The main buffet is smaller than some of the [... read more]
Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing staff!
We have been many times to Sian Ka’an Since Hyatt has taken over now. Some of the à la cartes have changed how they serve you there food. Not liking how the tortouga restaurant has a set menu no buffet. Yes you pick your meat you want, but the appetizers is set is all the same, the dessert is the same. No choices. The chairs around the pool are taken in the early morning, with their towels. And they don’t even show up, so I took them off. Towels has NO cards now so you can take as many as y [... read more]

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Relaxing, Rejuvenating, Restorative
Yoga 2-3 times a day in a beautiful space overlooking the ocean, snorkeling and swimming with turtles and other beautiful ocean life, paddle boarding in the ocean breeze. Excursion left us with a deeper understanding and connection to historic and spiritual sacred spaces within the Mayan civilization and their ancient traditions and ways of life. Wonderful fresh fruits each morning and in the evening music and dance. This resort is located in a very special place and the people who run and m [... read more]
