Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Amazing resort!

Absolutely incredible experience! The staff are exceptionally friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and well taken care of. Ocean Maya Royale: Great Resort!

The grounds were well maintained. The resort is not really big so easy access to beach and pool. Dining was amazing at all the restaurants. The food was well presented and delicious. Servers and staff were beyond so friendly! Washrooms were well maintained! Check in/out process was really quick. Loved the ice cream shack and pizza shack right across the pool. Mexican restaurant across the pool had the best fish tacos. Only negatives I have was the continuous loud thumping music in the act [... read more]ivity pool we could hear from the other pool. Also for older people they should consider steps to enter second quieter pool. One ladder had 2 rungs and the other had 3 rungs. The other end of the pool had a step down but still awkward to use. I noticed a few people young and older struggling to get in and out. Overall this place is amazing and definitely would consider coming back. I strongly would recommend this place!

Ocean Maya Royale: Amazing resort

The resort is very well maintained and very clean. The rooms are a really good size. The buffet had a great variety of foods. The quiet pool was clean , but we found it difficult to get a lounge chair. People take the chairs but we found they hardly used them. The party pool was very busy and there were lots of activities going on. the ala carte restaurants were very nice with the exception of the Italian restaurant. the bugs were bad. El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: I wanted to like it....

I really did want to like this resort - and to a degree, I did. Grounds were beautiful, staff were amazing (a special shout out to Melbin at the Italian a la carte and Juan Carlos of the El Beso pool bar - you guys were beyond amazing!!!). Food was okay - the a la cartes definitely made it worthwhile. Drinks were plentiful and they do not skimp on the alcohol. This resort is BIG. Yes, it's 911 rooms, but we didn't realize just how big it was. It was a lot of walking to get to restaurants from  [... read more]the adults only side (they do have a trolley system, we just didn't bother using it). A few times, people from the family side did sneak over to the adults only side, but they were usually caught pretty quick. We paid to upgrade to Privilege upon our arrival and didn't really find it worth it. Maybe we just didn't take full advantage of everything, and that's on us. Our mini bar in our room was supposed to be stocked daily - it was only stocked once. By the end of our 7 day trip, we had 1 bottle of water left. Crowd seemed to be a bit more on the younger side then we are used to at resorts (I'd say late 20's to early 30's). Biggest complaint was the music at the adults only pool - it was LOUD. There's only so much bass thumping, house party music one can take in a week. We lucked out with our room literally being steps from the pool - but when we are in our room, with the sliding glass door closed and my husband had his sleeping ear plugs in and you can still hear the music...that's loud. People in the pool would ask a few times for it to be turned down so you didn't have to yell at the person 2 feet away from you to hear them and yes, the staff would turn it down a bit....but then a new staff member would come along and crank it back up again. Even if the pool was empty. It seemed like they were playing the music more for them then the guests. The resort seemed to be experiencing a lot of shortages - no berries whatsoever at the adult's only side snack bar, we asked for BBQ chicken at the one lounge to be told they were out, same with the pulled pork burgers at the privilege lounge. Food at the buffet was plentiful, but just okay. Beware of the time share pitch!!! When we checked in, a very nice gentlemen in a white shirt (learn to beware the white shirts!) took our number for communication via WhatsApp and asked us to join him for a 'special breakfast' the next morning where we could obtain our "welcome gift". We ended up bailing on the breakfast (we heard from other guest that the "welcome gift" is breakfast at the main buffet....). The white shirt guy ended up messaging us to re-schedule and called our room...4 times. Multiple times a day. I'm talking 2-3 times in the morning, and it would ring upwards of 7-8 times. Overall, it is a nice resort - just not really our style. Would we go back? Not likely - and not because it wasn't a nice resort - just not our style really.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Don't bother, waste of money

Nothing but trouble from the moment we got into our room. Air conditioning didn't work, TV broken, sliding door wouldn't close and app for dinner reservations wasn't working. Took 3 days and 2 complaints to the front desk to get someone to fix A/C. Spoke to guest services and she got the manager involved. He offered us a new room and "Privilege upgrade" for our troubles. After being locked out of our room that we needed to get into to pack up and move to the new room (maintenance had to come dis [... read more]mantle door lock and reprogram so we could get in), new room had more problems than the first. most of the upgrades that come with "Privilege" we didn't get and the room we were moved into had less amenities than our first. It was a downgrade rather than an upgrade. They were supposed to plan something for my husbands birthday as part of this "privilege" and all they managed to execute was a banner on our door. The special restaurant for his birthday didn't acknowledge us or his birthday and we left without anything special happening. I have been to several resorts in the Dominican and I would rate this a 1 out of 5 and that is being generous. Do yourself a favour don't waste your money on this resort. The lawns looked nice since they worked on them from morning to night every day and outside of the buildings were getting a fresh coat of paint everyday but they should take some of that budget and work on keeping rooms functioning. This was not the place for rest, relaxation or most of all DESTRESSING - its the total opposite. Many others we talked to there had issues with their rooms and with the app. So if going by looks is your thing and not function Ocean Blue and Sand has got that.

Ocean Coral Spring: Wonderful Family Vacation

We visited the Ocean Coral Spring Resort in October 2025 for a family vacation in celebration of 2 birthdays. In our group we had an infant, a five year old and five adults and we all had a wonderful time. The resort responded to any issues that we had and while we did have some hiccups, the immediate response to solving the issues was very much appreciated. The grounds are beautiful, very well maintained and the rooms are very nice. We availed ourselves of the Privilege class and I wholly recommend it. We felt very special and the Privilege Lounge was just excellent and the staff throughout were always friendly and very willing to help.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Overall would love to return.

Pros: - Pool on the beach with the beach bar, smoothie bar, and restaurant. - Kids area with a waterpark, so most of the other pools are child-free and relaxing. - Large pools / multiple pools for lots of options. - Easily walkable resort, taking 10-15 mins to get to each end. - Security takes their job seriously and cross-references pick-ups with room numbers and reservations. - Booking dinners and other activities through the app / on your phone was easy. - Lots of dining options, but  [... read more]be warned, the portions are small, so you still may want to hit up the buffet before or after. - There were lots of seats at both the buffet and pools; I never had to fight for a spot or reserve seating at the pool. - The staff were all friendly and helpful. Cons: - Too many people are trying to sell you things on the beach; every 5-10 minutes, you can expect to be interrupted to be sold a day trip, massage, etc. - Mosquitoes! Bring bug spray, I'm not sure if it was from the season or our room location, but the mosquitoes were not friendly. - The beach itself is small, with lots of rocks and seaweed. Bring water shoes if you want to go in the ocean. - The main lobby bar closes at midnight, and if you want drinks, you need to go to the disco.

Ocean Maya Royale: Helpful staff

Staff is very helpful and accommodating. Food is also good. Breakfast buffet was highlight of the day. Beach was nice but we went in Seagrass season but they were doing their best to clean. There is always activities going on to make your stay more enjoyable.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: You get what you pay for

My family and I stayed for 7 days (2 adults, 1 baby). We got a free upgrade for our room which was nice but honestly the room wasn't really upgraded. There was some rust, water pressure could have been better, mattress was not very comfortable, and the outlets were not secure, etc. One thing we liked was that the wifi was pretty fast. The main buffet was where we ate the most but it is hit or miss. It's nice that they tell you when the busiest times are before you enter the restaurant. At times [... read more] they did not restock the food fast enough to meet demand. There is a variety of other restaurants, some were first come/ first serve and some were reservation only. Note that the reservations can be done on the app but easier on the browser. We went to one of each and they were pretty good. One place we kept going back to was Mike's Coffee so we definitely recommend that. Another thing to note is there are a lot of animals that come out but as long as you don't feed them, they don't bother you. As a parent, just know it is not easy going around with a stroller at times, some of the high chairs did not have seatbelts, and the crib here is a play pen. Overall for the price it was a decent resort but I won't be coming back.

Ocean El Faro: As expected

Typical DR resort. Average everything, good lazy river beach was below standard. Rooms decent, be prepared to walk a lot, we went in low season so easy to get beach / pool chairs. Didn’t get to try all the restaurant’s as many were closed due to low season. If you get a good deal worth going. Be wary of the time share people in the white. They are your best friend before the sales pitch and Rude after the 2 plus hr sales pitch they claim will only be 15 minutes.after you tell them you’r [... read more]e not interested.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Amazing, kind, helpful staff. Beautiful resort.

Beach has improved considerably from the hurricanes several years ago. Grounds clean and well-manicured. Public buildings and washrooms are spotless. Electric carts circle the property frequently to transport guests wherever they want to go. Food is available from early morning until late at night. Mike's Coffee is a gem. Staff are all very friendly and helpful everywhere. Entertainment and shows are available in the evenings. Ocean El Faro: Thumbs down

Unfortunately, the beauty of this Hotel was ruined by the extremely unprofessional and unhelpful front desk staff. Very uninformative when being asked a direct question. I have never spent money on a 5 star before and this was a great disappointment.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: The Ocean Coral and Turquesa is a serious contender

The Ocean Coral and Turquesa hotel is definitely a resort to consider for your next vacation. The resort is located close to Puerto Morelos and offers many positive amenities for adults and families alike. There is a wide variety of room categories, numerous pools, multiple dining options and many activities, including bowling. The restaurants, bathrooms and common areas are all maintained to a very high standard with a focus on safe food handling practices and sanitation. The varie [... read more]ty, quality and freshness of food offerings, was also to a high standard. Route 66 served amazing ribs, brisket and burgers, to name a few. Mike's coffee had a large array of coffees, desserts and sandwiches in a nicely decorated setting, reminiscent of a Starbucks. The ice-cream shop was a nice treat after dinner. The ala carte's included, Japanese, Italian, Seafood and Brazilian options. The beef filet at the Italian requires honourable mention, for it's tenderness. The buffet always offered a large variety of Mexican and American food options. All staff encountered were friendly and engaging. The evening shows, including Michael Jackson, were professional and promptly started at 9PM and ended at 9.45PM. The rooms were spacious with excellent A/C, TV, fridge and no mold or dampness either. Our airport transfers were organized and provided by Mercedes transporters Uber will also come to the resort, as an option to taxis. Puerto Morelos was less than $190 MXN. The Ocean Coral and Turquesa exceeded all our expectations.

Ocean El Faro: Nice Resort But Need Improvements

We were at this resort a few years ago and thought it was fabulous hence we returned for a second stay. The buildings and rooms are very well maintained and in excellent condition. The entire resort is very clean! The staff everywhere were very helpful and friendly! Now for the negatives. The resort had a 32% occupancy so several things were downsized or closed. The Buffet Restaurant was closed every night for the entire week, so everyone had to eat at the A-La-Carte restaurants. This was a fia [... read more]sco with very long lineups with frustrations. Most guests were annoyed and somewhat rude to staff but it is upper management who should be held responsible. After the long lines to be seated, once you get in half of the tables were empty! Access was based on low level staffing. Better decisions and smarter choices should have been made regarding restaurant closures. There were also rotating closures of other restaurants! So choices were limited! The evening entertainment was limited and low quality. There was mostly the same Spanish music every night, no variety! The Piano Bar was closed for most of he week. The Pianist only plays 2 nights per week as compared to 6 nights in previous years. There were 3 guys "one night" who were Tenor singers and they were excellent, but this was unannounced and held in the Piano Bar with about 20 people present. This should have been in the main Plaza for everyone to enjoy!! The 70's 80's show was enjoyable. Need better entertainment with some English variety for guests! The beach was terrible and no one could swim all week with a permanent red flag. We have never seen so much Sargassum anywhere!! Yes they cleaned it but the next day it was the same. The sand was uneven with truck wheels imprint. They should level the sand daily so at least guests and children are able to walk on it.. Need better decisions by management regarding reductions of advertised features. I would never return to this resort although we like the Oceans Resorts. We wanted to leave after 3 days! Have been to several Oceans resorts in recent years! Please make better decisions to return this resort to the fabulous place that it was a few years ago. It has regressed!! Need better management!!!

Ocean Coral Spring: Could be Better

My partner and I had a relaxing time but the resort does lack in a few different areas, which made it a little disappointing as it’s supposed to be quite new. Housekeeping was not the greatest, many areas in the room were very dusty and had stains or someone else’s hair wrapped up in it . The check-in policy is also ridiculous because there are other resorts that are flexible and can get people to their rooms before 3 PM .Our hotel room had a big leak in the middle of the night and we had to mov [... read more]e all our stuff in the early hours of the morning . Although we were relocated to another room, it would’ve been good to receive something else as a courtesy. There were many other things that were not great like the beach but there are some great people who work there. Good resort if you are on a budget and want to stay somewhere that has a luxurious look, but I personally would not return.

Ocean El Faro: Disappointing experience

We traveled end of August 2025. Beach was unusable due to the immense amounts of seaweed. The food was good, and most people were nice, but it felt like we were getting pressured every time we left the room by people trying to get us to join "Privledge".

Ocean Blue and Sand: Amazing Resort

The agent thru trip central Candice Anger was patient when helping me select Ocean Blue and Sand. Her recommendation was spot on with our every needs. The resort she recommended was impressive with the layout of resort and not over sized. The resort was amazing. The hospitality was great and the hotel was clean. Friendly staff and good food. Thank you Candice Anger at tripcentral and Ocean Blue and Sand for making this family vacation very memorable!

Ocean Coral Spring: Not Worth It

• Buffet way too small for the size of the resort → long waits, empty food trays, and sometimes they don’t even let you in. • Beach is nothing like the photos → tiny, rocky, and shallow • Entertainment is a joke compared to other same-rate resorts. • Staff often rude and inattentive. • Only positive: clean rooms. Save your money and book somewhere else that actually delivers a proper vacation.
