It's better in the Bahamas!

We loved our stay at the Riu Palace Paradise Island. The accommodations were great, food was amazing, staff were very friendly (shout out to Kisha at the front desk!) Beach was beautiful. Our only complaint would be that it would be nice if things like kayaking, paddle boarding etc were offered.

Great resort!

The resort experience was great. Nice, newly renovated rooms and common areas (overall the resort was small but never felt too busy). Everything was kept very clean and the staff were really great especially the pool bartenders and resort entertainment staff. The pools were nice and the swim up bar/infinity pool had a great set up/view. The beach was nice too and the water was beautiful! Beautiful hotel

Stayed at the newly renovated Riu on paradise island in the Bahamas last weekend. Staff and service were amazing!!!! Rooms spotless, food great. Found the buffet cold food more often than not,but great tasting. Beach was clean and well staffed with helping carry chairs. Only downfall for me was when Sunwing picked us up for departing flight 4 hrs before when there was nothing to do at airport. Long wait. Next time we decided to take taxi later as not to experience that wait again. We are experie [... read more]nced travellers and will definitely be back next year!

Paradise

The resort is very clean and beautiful. The pool area is amazing, lots of activities like yoga, aqua fitness, beech volleyball. The buffett is awesome. The quality and variety is great. 2 of the 4 a la carte restaurants are ok. The staff is very friendly. The beach is beautiful top notch. The jerk chicken is to die for.

Amazing resort

Love the pool, room and staffs are very polite and friendly. I recombined this hotel to all my friends. Rooms are very clean. I let bed my room which was ocean and pool view. People who were there as a guest were high class people. I didn’t sea any low class there.

Amazing resort

This hotel just did 3 million dollar renovations and it was absolutely beautiful, Rooms were nice, loved the large shower and shower head....very clean resort, staff constantly cleaning. The food was great (nice selection) along with the other restaurants that were offered. Infinity pool was nice overlooking the beach and ocean. Capuchino bar was nice, we used it often, couple times a day. Towels were soft which is unusual, they are usually stiff and hard. The only complaint I would have is that we had a late flight out and checkout was at 12:00, they didnt have a room for people to use to shower in, you had to pay $100.00 to get an extension on your room and that was limited to a certain # of people so I was told. Do not want to pay an extra $100 just to shower.

Great resort completely reonavted

We have stayed 3 times and going back to the place completely renovated was great, 2 pools, new rooms with re done bathrooms, food was good even before but now more selection. The staff is friendly the new jerk chicken place outside the pool area is awesome.

Perfect location!!

The Riu has made such great updates since the last time we went there! The infinity pool with the swim up bar was definitely the best addition. We arrived at 11am and were checked in and provided our room within 5 minutes of arrival. Very friendly staff! The location next to the Atlantis is such an added bonus!!!

Perfect Location

The food and staff were excellent. Good size of resort. Beach is beautiful. The only thing would be the room smelled a bit and air conditioner not working very well. Felt very safe outside the resort. The French restaurant was a bit too long to wait for our meal.

Carefree Escape

The very best thing about this hotel is the staff. We enjoyed every individual who worked to make our holiday everything we could have asked for. The hotel is fresh, spotlessly clean and offers non stop fresh and carefully prepared food, drinks both non alcoholic and alcohol. The pool is well maintained and the ocean of course is stunning.

Riu Palace

Had an amazing Time in Bahamas! The hotel and staff were wonderful to say the least! Everyone was so friendly and catered to our every need. We can’t wait to go back for another vacation and recommend Bahamas to anyone who is looking for a place to go on a vacation

Reconsider this hotel

This hotel is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We spend 4 nights Jan 21 -24. On our 2nd day we were moved to another room. our 1st night in the 2nd room my partner c/o of red bump on is skin. He said it could be bed bugs. I though no way the room appears clean. On our forth night we saw bedbugs running on the bed along with roaches on the floor. We came back home in terrors, hoping that no bedbugs came in our belonging. To date Jan 30 our suitcases remains in the garage. We wash our cloth [... read more]s in hot water, but is still afraid to bring them to bedroom.We have no peace of mind since returning because it takes a lot of work to get rid of bed bug. We did a incident report b4 leaving the hotel and no one contacted us back. This means they are aware of the problem.

Best resort I've ever stayed at

The customer service was incredible, staff was very friendly and constantly making sure that the guests were taken care of. Fresh food for all meals. Rooms were very clean and restocked every day. Also a beautiful resort!

Good resort but know that you will spend a lot of time in the lobby!

We arrived around 10am and were told we couldn’t check in until 3pm. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t good and everyone had to sit in the lobby for hours. Food was amazing, didn’t go to any a la carts but we have been to the same restaurants in Aruba and they were fantastic. Hotel and rooms were spectacular. Very beautifully done. Staff was fantastic, very nice and very helpful. Was surprised that there were no souvenir shops at the resort and only 1 bar inside to get drinks (with the exce [... read more]ption of the coffee bar). On our last day we had to check out at noon and were told that we could not get a late checkout (we had a note on our door). Check out was noon and bus didn’t pick us up until 7:30pm so again we had to sit around. People were sleeping in the lobby because we had no where to go. Also, people had arrived that day and weren’t allowed to check in so there were tons of people awkwardly hanging around. Something needs to be done about the scheduling issue. While we checked out we noticed that there was a paper with peoples names that were allowed a late checkout but staff said that no one was allowed to check out late. Found out later that people were allowed to so we weren’t too impressed. Went to see the sea lions and it was amazing!! We snuck over to atlantis because it was right beside our resort. All in all it was ok. Had the weather been better we probably would have had a better time, although during the 84 hours we stayed, 13 of the hours we had no where to go. Also, had an oceanfront room and it was so worth the extra money!

Stay at the Riu

The hotel itself was good. However no music and due tobweathwr it was pretty boring. No pool time I get this is nt thoroughly fault due to weather but alternative fun would have been nice. The special restaurants ridiculous you cant reaeve in advance but the buffet was good. The service from hotel was good but sunwing was just rude were not helpful with excursion info. Very disappointed in flight they ran out of food. Rieu Palace Paradise Island was amezing

we love everything about the place, staff where great, food excellent, grounds perfect very clean. I would fully recommend everyone to go. There was a lot stuff for you to keep busy or not your choice.

Nice short trip vacation location

We stayed at the Hotel Riu on Paradise island,Bahamas Dec 31-Jan 4. 3 hour flight time, weather was great. Hotel itself was okay, food was good, the buffet was excellent. For dinner no limit on the a la carte restaurants, but would prefer the reservation process rather than the walk up and wait process. Service was excellent to just okay. Balcony was a bit small, room was clean comfortable and bright, could have had better chairs, in the room. Great wi-fi, good TV and channel selections. Bathroom was clean, lots of hot water, nice shower with rain head. Bar was noisy, not cozy, personal preference for us is a piano bar. Evening entertainment was good. Hotel itself was small. Adults only no children. Hotel Atlantis complex is next door, for casino action. Beach walking was excellent, 30 minutes east to the golf course, 15 minutes west to the lagoon river for the Atlantis. Blue warm water, nice sands, not much to see for snorkeling from the beach area. Big pool was heated, good clean. Lots of available chairs around the pool and the beach did not have any issues finding a place to sit. Small pool to swim up bar, separate pool area ( good idea). But water was cold. Outside food, Jerk Chicken bbq and nice pool bar. Overall good for a quick trip south.

Gorgeous Renovated Resort

Spent 3 nights at this amazing place. Loved every second. One thing need to be changed. Riu needs an app to book dinner reservations ahead instead of lining up for ala cart restaurants. Otherwise a great resort. This is my second time to Riu Paradise Island and won't be my last.

Very, Very Impressed!

Absolutely stunning resort! Everything you would want or need on a vacation was within reach or walking distance! Food was fabulous and the staff in every position was so kind and really cared that you enjoyed your stay!

A true 5 star

Amazing, accomadating atmosphere. Spotless hotel. Every amenity needed. Beautiful view from room, pool, lounge, and resturaunts. Peaceful environment and enjoyable bars. Close to Atlantis, downtown paradise island, airport, ect.
