Better then expected

I was in the Rancho Luna first time several years ago, and at that time it was really bad,,,, the swimming pool was mess, food was very bad, the bar tending was arrogant and to many animals on the property, and overall, it was just bad bad bad. Now, after few years I was back again, just because of my friend who wanted to go there. One think I noticed big changes in just about everything. Now they have doctor and nurse on the site, the entertainment, food is better, the place is painted  [... read more]and cleaner, the sick dogs and cats are almost gone, and overall picture is good. The only problem I found is the beach bar. Apparently, you can order only hamburger or a fish every single day. This is clearly not enough, because the fish is always the same and not fresh, and the hamburger is not tasty at all.. Considering the beautiful beach & the beach bar they already have, so close to the beach, and the facility they already have there, they can do so much more to improve overall picture for so little. If I am running their business I would take one or two waiters, plus some food from the main restaurant and serve it at the beach bar to those people who happened to be on the beach. Moreover, they can also sell the food & drinks to the Cubans or visitors who are visiting the beach of playa Rancho Luna...why restrictions, make it pleasurable for all concern !

No reason to be happy

the week at rancho luna was a disaster from the start to finish nothing was what was supposed to be. the flight. the room ,the service was all minus five star. the security was non existant and we suffered because of that and all was like this is normal

We Love the place

We had a great time, the hotel is not a 5 star hotel but is great for people who travel with children I had amazing holliday with my five kids the staff of the place was really friendly the food was good latin food ,the room was clean with a beautifull view of the beach riding horses social activities amasing we will come back 😊

Basic All Inclusive

Grounds are clean, staff is nice, rooms are very basic. Food is not of the highest quality and can cause quite the stomach issues. Be prepared for down time due to food. I had some imodium, thank God.

Fantastic place

Nice place to stay in Cienfuegos. Location is not to far from the city, beach is ok but too much weeds, the public beach is not to far. Food was ok. Had a nice time, next time will go for two weeks. Yes!!!!

Nice resort

The grounds of this resort are very nice , clean well kept . rooms are small clean good for sleeping , the air works . I payed more for an ocean view not worth it . The food was great some day's but other day's not so good , tried to get bacon to go with my eggs , got them 2 times . There is a free bus to the city of Cienfurgos and back every day . take it have a look at Cuban life and talk to them . Staff are good and if you give a small tip they are great .

If the room were better it would be a 3.5*

The resort is well keped. The employees are probably the hightpoint of the resort. The pool area is big and cleaned everyday. The rooms are clean, but way out of date. The food was very good...for cuban standards.

Very good price wise

Very nice and clean beach is not a big deal but we new about it before going food and drinks service evry thing was ok pool is nice and clean the site all around is properly maintain very quite nothing wrong to say positively surprise yes would go back

Rancho Luna has improved in some ways, is failing

There are new curtains and bedspreads in the rooms. peepholes in the doors. another coffee machine. Those of us who are "regulars" are happy about these changes. With the new director have come changes in personnel which are also good. However, the many 'over-nighter" bus tours are causing some grumbling among the regulars. It is harder to get the room you want since the tour people tend to get their rooms in a row. Always enjoyable

We very much enjoy Rancho Luna. This was our second time. The staff is fantastic. The food is great. This is an older hotel and the rooms are very dated and run down but for the price, this place is a gem. The only thing we found that was disappointing is there are bus tours going through almost every night so the staff are overworked and they do their best to put on a happy face but it's just hard to watch. We went to see the Dolphins and it was wonderful. To swim with them it was only $40 cuc. [... read more] They are humanely treated as well as they have a large river to swim in. Loved it!

It worth the price that you paid

The ground and outside around the resort is super clean but the public washrooms are stingy.The staffs are nice and friendly.When you need something always someone there helping out. I would come back for sure for my next vacation.

Pleasantly surprised

Honestly we were nervous Rancho Luna Cienfuegos was our 5th time to cuba But we had never flown Cubanair and the hotel being a 2 star gave us concerns Silly us though.... We had a fantastic time!!! Simple, serene:

Rancho Luna exceeded my expectations. The grounds are vast and uncluttered. The pool large and clean. (The pool water was too cold for comfort due to and unusually cold spell.) The beach on the property is weedy and not good for swimming. A short walk "around the corner" is a lovely sandy public beach. Thatched sun umbrellas are available. Lounges can be rented. The room which I shared with a girlfriend. was just fine. Small, clean. One had to practice neatness. The patio door opened to the garden with views of the sea. One could watch the horses ambling lazily around the grounds, nibbling at the bushes in front of our unit and grazing on the grass. An uplifting sight! The food was simple and nutritious. Eggs,cheese, cabbage, beans, beets, carrots, some meat or fish protein. The bread is the best! Desserts are wonderful especially the custards and ice cream. Always a great choice of fresh fruit. It is not fancy food. One has to remember one is in Cuba. Cuba is giving the tourist their best. If one is looking for peace, friendly staff, basic accommodations, warm weather, good music Rancho Luna is your home away from home!

Great Time! Relaxing! Food! @ Rancho Luna

We had yet again another amazing holiday at Rancho Luna. Food was amazing choice spread out for you to choose. Service as if you were the only one there they tool care of you. Relaxing on the beach, nightly shows were entertaining. Rooms & grounds clean. Can't way to visit again next year marking 30 years going to Rancho Luna.

All good and great time.

The place been fixing up in good or better then before. i would love to go back there again. i don't have any problem with the food, i would love to have few cold beer waiting in the fridge's room every day.

Love it!

Had a great two weeks met nice people made friends with staff.... not for family's tho. Close to town just a free bus ride away for ten bucks for a taxi going back again for sure . Can't wait to go again had a blast !!!!!!

Nice location

Grounds where really well kept. Room was spacious and clean food was not bad at all. Enjoyed rabbit one night. Beer was fresh n cold. Staff really polite. Sweet little private bar near the pool . Overall well worth the money.

Went dec/15. good place

this place surpassed my expectations. well kept. clean. but a little dated. breakfast okay. did not check out lunch or dinner. eating at beach bar and pool bar was okay. went off resort for lunch/dinner which was great food!! i would go back again!! luxury it is not, but it is comfortable enough to be enjoyable.

Clean resort

Staff were nice, friendly and accommodating. Food was typical for Cuba but there is always a choice. No need for anyone to go hungry there. Snacks at poolside upon request. Beach bar food was excellent!

Greateat value for your money

Great place. Super changes since 5 years ago when we were there for the first time. Food is OK could improve. The entertainment at night was superbe. Wow like a 5 star. ... staff super friendly most. The pool is great. The beach chairs are limited. A grest place to go to on a budget to experience Cuba. My husband and I were there for a Ewell end of November beginning of December 2015
