Fabulous beach side resort!!

We stayed at Iberostar Daiquiri for 7 days in early April 2019. Our room was clean and comfortable but best of all was the awesome ocean view from our patio, it was stunning! The resort was just the right size for us with everything within a few minutes walk. Pool was clean and clear with 3 sections, one was very active with lots of activities and music with a swim up bar, in the middle was the kids pool and one the other side was the more quieter side for relaxation. The pool had lots of umbre [... read more]llas and very comfortable chairs. The food and restaurants were all very good with lots of options and different food daily. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I felt very safe on this resort. The gem of this resort though is the beach! It had white clean sand with lots of umbrellas and chairs with a beach bar very close by. I’m hoping to visit this resort in the near future for another great vacation.

Not a good choice

will never go back. Room not clean, we stay 2 weeks, the beading was never change. Several people sick including myself. We go to Cuba every year and I was never sick. No activities and under staffed

Incredible people made the resort so special!

This hotel was amazing. My niece and I spent one week and we met some very nice people. The staff here and the entertainment was awesome! Special thanks to Yurdanny (Jordan to us) for making our stay so much fun! And of course all the other pool crew! Beaches were nice and the food had lots of variety. I will highly recommend this resort!

Beautiful

This was our first time in Cuba and our first time at an all inclusive. It was a great experience all around for our family. The ease and comfort of not having to worry about anything was great and there were plenty of activities to keep you busy if you wanted. I believe that the resort did its best with quality of food for what the country has access to. We opted for the best value room and upon first glance the room wasn't amazing as compared to American standards but it was clean and comfortable and we were not there for the room. The beach was beautiful, the people friendly, the resort was clean and lovely. We had a great time. As long as you go to Cuba recognizing that you are getting the best resources that they have and that the country does suffer from its embargo's, you will feel grateful for the incredible experience and beauty of Cuba. And tipping goes a long way....

Great time

This was our 4th trip to cuba and it was great as always. The beach is absolutely gorgeous, wide and lots of room for everyone to enjoy it. The resort was clean, the public bathrooms were among the cleanest weve seen in cuba. Our room was in the hotel part of the resort and we didnt have any issues, always had hot water and clean towels and very clean. The food selection was lacking and very repetitive, we were tired of the food by about day 4. Most staff were very friendly however a few we [... read more]re rude to us at the lobby bar on morning shift. The grounds are a bit bare but they are doing a wonderful job getting it back to normal after the hurricane. We didnt enjoy that we were so far from any towns as we enjoy going into towns for the markets and restaurants and werent able to do that here. We would recommend the resort and had a lovely time but probably wont be going back to this area.

Pros and Cons

We had a good holiday at this resort. We have travelled to Mexico, Cuba, Jamaica, and many cruises over many years so have a pretty good understanding of what to expect when travelling south. Pros: This resort is a nice size. It is manageable without too much walking or an impersonal feeling. It has a tropical vibe with a good layout. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality, choices, and overall taste of the food. This was the best food we have enjoyed in Cuba. There were stations of freshly cooked foods at breakfast, lunch, and supper including omelettes, chicken, stir fry, and fish. The a la carte Mexican and Italian restaurants were great. I am a picky eater and I was able to find foods I could enjoy every meal. The staff worked hard and were friendly and accommodating. They were appreciative of tips and interacted positively but were never pushy. Line-ups were relatively short and it never felt chaotic. The entertainment staff was positive and upbeat. The staff playing volleyball at the beach were entertaining and really tried to get people involved. Our room was well-appointed with renovations like newer tiles and bathrooms. Cons: There were mosquitos. We did see that the resort tried to address the problem by spraying, but some members of our family did get a lot of bites especially at night. Although the food was good, there were shortages such as running out of things like jam, orange juice, chicken, and wine. We were told this was an issue in the area and not specific to this resort. Hot water was an issue in our section of the resort as well. We had two rooms on the same floor and one had hot water and the other had none. The front desk staff initially attributed it to lack of sun resulting in solar panels not working optimally but had no answer as to why a few rooms down we had hot water. After a couple of days we were eventually moved to another room on the same floor that did have hot water but it took persistence on our part. They also offered us complimentary massages and tried to rectify the situation as best they could. The beach is beautiful and wide. However, there is a lot of seaweed in the water which meant that you could only swim out to your waist at best comfortably. Pilar beach is a stunning beach 10 minutes away so we went there to enjoy some waves and the chance to really experience the water. Considering Pilar beach is so accessible, the beach quality would not prevent me from returning to this resort, but I was disappointed by so much seaweed in front of the resort. Overall, we had a great holiday at this resort. The people were wonderful, the weather was pleasant, the food was delicious, and the resort had a cosy and upbeat vibe.

Best Resort!

This resort is quaint and authentic. Some resorts are so modern, institutional looking. Not Iberostar Daiquiri. Lots of lush greenery. The hotels look like haciendas. The rooms are great with hot (very warm at least) water showers! Fridge was ice cold and refreshed daily. Awesome view and beach. Food was good with great a la carte's--we did Cuban and Italian.

Great people

This is a nice resort, but the people really make a difference. We mainly ate at the buffet because reservations to specialty restaurants were difficult to get (the special restaurants were fantastic, btw, so do try). The buffet is great for breakfasts especially. We were well cared for by our server and she reserved a table for us, a group of eight, each day so we could all sit together. Attention to detail - she poured coffee and as you went to the buffet, covered it to keep it warm! The [... read more] entertainment crew were warm and friendly and had inventive games on the beach that were fun. The entertainment was really very good, a 9 piece band that sang and played really well, table to table in the lobby bar as well as the dance show at the theatre showed real talent. We even attended a foam party that made us laugh until our sides hurt. Rooms are clean, pools are nice, it feels very safe, and people here are the best. Bring lots of tip money.

FUN Resort!!

Traveled with a group of 8 girls and had a fabulous time!! The hotel might be older but everything is nice and clean and the service was excellent. Beach and pool staff are friendly and fun. Food staff provide excellent service. Bar staff are friendly too. No grumpy staff, all happy and friendly!! Entertainment was also good, something almost always going on. Re the food, there are a few things we didn't like, but we could always find something tasty and always left very full - lol.  [... read more] Food and service at the specialty restaurants was also very good. Only complaint - regularly running out of toilet paper in the public washrooms.

Wonderful resort and staff

This resort for us was perfect. We have been to Cuba numerous times and this being the first time we did not want to come home yet. The grounds were beautiful and well kept, the food was exceptional for Cuba always a vast selection. The dining room for the buffet was set up so nice at every meal. The service in the dining room was exceptional always someone checking if you needed anything. The main bar was always served quickly and with a smile. Great resort!

This resort is a great bang for your buck. The staff is so friendly as well the entertainment. The grounds are beautiful and the beach is amazing. The biggest beach I’ve seen in Cuba. The rooms themselves could be a bit updated but we spent so little time in there that it didn’t matter. The food was so-so. I don’t expect great food in Cuba so I’m not one to judge on it. I hated the fact that we had to book our a la carts the first day there and already at that time the only options were after 8:30. Crazy. The evening shows were pretty good and the lobby was really nice. There was always a singer at 8 till 9 and then the night shows started at 9:30 in the theatre. This was a smaller resort which we liked. So close to the pool or the beach whichever building you stayed in. As usual there were idiots that reserved the palapas and loungers by the pool by 6am. We never got a covered spot by the pool but there was tons of palapas and loungers on the beach. Will return to this resort.

Wonderful Stay

You will never find friendlier staff! The rooms definately need some work, however the grounds and common areas are lovely. Beach is incredible and there is a lot of variety of food to choose from. We would happily return.

Great resort

We stayed at this resort for 7 nights. it was really an awesome time. The resort staff are very friendly and polite, the food was great considering that we are in Cuba where they do not have everything available to them as we do. Clean grounds and only 2 bugs bites all week. That was a great relief. I would go back no problem. It's really more of a family resort so if your looking for partying this is not the place for you.

First time at the resort and won't be the last!

Rooms were clean and comfortable, great view of the grounds and the ocean. Unlike some of the other resorts, this resort really does have a Cuban feel to it, with the architecture and the colours. Enjoyed the buffets and the two a la carte that we tried, always fresh and flavourfull. Staff far exceeded my expectations of Cuban hospitality, and the shows at the poolside and evening shows were entertaining and fun. Great resort

The resort was great, but for the first 2 nights I was stuck in a moldy room. Couldn’t sleep or breathe in that room. But they did accommodate me as soon as I brought it up. The staff were wonderful, food was great, environment and atmosphere was absolutely lovely. For my first all-inclusive trip I can say I enjoyed it a lot despite the bad first room.

Great resort with fun staff!

Nice beach, clean pool, friendly staff, good food, lots of activities available! Lots of excursions available as well. A la carte restaurants are not as good as buffet meals. Room did not have hot water and staff couldn't fix it during our stay. Public washrooms smelled badly. It was sunny and warm every day, but it's windy all the time. Difficult for snorkelling or activities on the beach (volleyball, frisbee, etc.). A kiteboarding school is a 2 min walk down the beach. Ok Resort

Beach and Pools were amazing. Bartenders and wait staff were great and very friendly. Lobby area was large and relaxing. Evening shows were amazing each night. Exceptional souvenir shops/carts. Rooms were fair to poor: stained sheets, terribly smelly throw pillows. Water and towels poorly restocked each day. After asking for refills we were told they would be delivered to our room - often were not. AC worked great. 'Public' washrooms were a disaster all the time. Great Resort

I like the resort, it was small. The beach was very nice, rooms were clean, staff was very friendly and very helpful. Always found something I liked to eat. I would go back. You will need a converter at this resort.

Beautiful Beach

Beach was beautiful, staff we very friendly and service was great. Food was ok, I always found something I liked to eat. Breakfast for me was made to order omelettes and there was a pasta bar and pizza bar for supper, again it was made to order. It is an older resort and there are some needed repairs. For the price of the trip it was worth it!

Mixed Message

This is a nice resort but is slowly deteriorating. Needs some TLC to fix it up. Entertainment is good Food has improved but still needs work! Staff are very friendly, and are the best part of this resort Good Beach Creepy crawlies ate us up 5-10 bites per arm. leg.
