Great Spot

Won't be disappointed with this resort unless your looking for a 5 star but didn't book one. Not a single complain, expected a smaller somewhat dated room and it was better than expected. Great service and the a la cartes are amazing!

Amazing resort

Everything was great beach was perfect and the restaurants were great. The staff was wonderful. What to go back. The location was great. The entertainment was amazing. Very clean and wonderful resort.

3 Star

Stayed 7 days Feb 28, 2018 This is an older hotel with acceptable rooms. It is not always clear the type of room you are booking. ie. Super Saver, Standard, Superior and type of bed and amenities will vary. Linens were fresh Ocean views are beautiful. Beach is beautiful. Two excellent pools. Food was good and well prepared. Friendly staff.

Wonderful Holiday

My husband and I enjoyed our week at the Starfish, Jolly Beach Resort. The beach was beautiful and that is where we spent our days. When we first arrived we were taken to our room. I did not like the room as it was in a noisy section of the hotel just over top of the buffet. Within ten minutes we were upgraded to another room in a quieter area and a nice view of the ocean. All and all it was a wonderful, relaxing holiday and we would return.

Awesome

Jolly Beach surpassed our expectations. The location and layout of this resort is one of the most beautiful of all the many islands we have visited. All rooms are ocean front with stunning views and sunsets. Staff are friendly with wonderful sense of humor always smiling and go above and beyond to ensure you have a great vacation. Food in all restaurants was comparable to any 4 or 5 star we have stayed at. Lots of Palapas are available in the beach but you have to get up by 7 am to reserve them. We absolutely loved our 10 days at JB and are already planning to go back next year.

Delightful first time in Antigua

We read many reviews of this resort before travelling so we knew to expect dated guest rooms and a stunning beach. What we experienced was much more. Although the room was dated and there is a little polish required in some other common areas, the Starfish Jolly Beach actually exceeded our expectations in many ways and provided good value for the cost. Housekeepi [... read more]ng kept our room very clean and did not delay in providing us with extra items as requested. The a/c unit was new and strong. The food was very good to excellent - truly something for everyone. Staff went above and beyond to deliver high quality and authentic service. The entertainment was definitely 4+ star with steel drum bands, dancers, fire limbo, etc. The pool area requires more sun umbrellas but is well-kept. The beach is stunning and (along with the staff) is absolutely the #1 reason to go.

Beautiful Resort

The hotel itself is aged but the staff are currently working to bring the hotel back to its vibriant self. Staff were great and helpful, thanks to Kenya for arranging a private taxi for ourselves (four adults) and seeing the entire island as well as stopping in St. John's for a quick shop and an excersion with the sting rays...amazing. (painted and cleaned out in the corners, dust on the ceiling lights/fans) just makes for a better first impression. Beach is what you pay for...beautiful. Value for your money

Outstanding beach resort with clean rooms, personable staff and 2 out of three superlative a la carte restaurants. The buffet is best for breakfast, great for lunch and acceptable for dinner. The night time bar and entertainment is average with the beach BBQ being a better bet at lunch. This is NOT for youth; a seniors paradise that roles up the sidewalk at 10:30. If you are looking for good value and like to go to bed early, you'll get maximum return.

Great vacation

the beach at jolly beach is a 10 out of 10. food at the resort is a 8 out of10. the resort itself is only a 5 out of 10, this resort is quite rundown and in need of updating. rooms were clean, and the people at the resort were very friendly. overall this was a great vacation as Antigua is a beautiful country.

Average resort

This resort is older. Rooms are small and tired. The whole place could use a good renovation. The beach is absolutely beautiful, they are building more palapas for shade, but a lot more are needed. The food was ok, but very repetitive and not much choice. This is a smaller resort which is nice if you like to meet people, everyone gathered at the one bar in the evening which was nice.The staff was fantastic, super friendly and helpful.

Great Place for a winter vacation

We have never been to a resort that the staff was so helpful and appreciative ! felt safe even off the resort. The wind blows the shower curtains around a lot, but overall we had a very relaxing enjoyable vacation. The beach is huge , could use a few more shade covers

Old resort with it's own charm in a spectacular location.

We knew from the reviews what to expect so there were no surprises. The food was good but not a huge selection. A few hiccups with our room but the staff were quite efficient fixing the problems. Incredible beach.

Such an Amazing Resort!!!

This was our first time to this resort and island. We had the best time. The resort was always clean, the staff was on top of everything. Everyone that worked there was very friendly and helpful, so nice to talk with, and took the time to speak with you. The food was really good, and a good variety. We loved the restaurants, it was a nice changebe from buffet. There was always plenty of food and drinks, did not dissapoint😀 We also loved thd beach. It was a beautiful, clean beach. It was s [... read more]pacious and a nice walk from end to end. Lots of lounge chairs too, never had to worry about waiting to get one. We will definitely return again. It was a first booking with Trip Central also, we were a bit nervous, but we had no problems. They were very responsive and informative. Will definitely book with Trip Central again.

Beautiful beach, great service

The resort is dated, but very clean. We stayed in "super saver room" (the smallest room we have ever seen) on the third floor with gorgeous ocean view. The beach was beautiful. The food selection at the buffet was OK, but the service was great. Jerk chicken at the beach restaurant was delicious. The Mexican, Italian and Seafood restaurants were very good.

Simple and clean

The buildings are getting tired and need a facelift but the grounds were nice and the beach was amazing! The food was the best we've had at a resort. The servers and staff were super nice and helpful. The entertainment was fun. The rooms need Reno but are very clean.

Nice resort

Number 1 the beach is spectacular! I had the superior room it was spacious and clean. The shower was very old and it was difficult to get it working after 5 pm or so barely any hot water. The grounds are kept very well and pretty with beautiful flower bushes. The staff were wonderful, kind, always smiling and accommodating check in was a breeze even thou there was a big lineup moved quickly. Warning!! resort has not been maintained

The roof leaked on my bed 4 out of 7 nights.I told staff, the response was they already knew about it. Black Mold on main buffet ceilings and in Mexican restaurant. My room had no screen door and the A/C did not work. I honestly feel the resort is so old and neglected that Sunwing should be embarrassed. I was in a group of 14 and each room was in the same condition. I have taken 6 Sunwing trips and this was the worst resort. I would recommend other Sunwing resorts but not “Jolly beach”

Amazing beach!

Hotel is dated, rooms are small but adequate since you aren’t in them for long. The buffet is small and food can be repetitive but tasty. A la carte restaurants are good but be prepared to get up early to make reservation . Entertainment and bands in the evening are excellent. Beach is amazing and the staff working at the resort are all wonderful !

Good for the price we paid

This hotel is definitely dated but clean. AMAZING beach. Although we were tipping, bartenders are REALLY slow and seem VERY angry until you've been there awhile then become friendlier. Food, same everyday but you get fed. Nathon, beggar on the beach was somewhat distressing Would be VERY helpful to get more information on the facilities and what's going on at the beginning of the week. Maybe a hand out? We were told to reserve for the restaurants a day ahead which we tried to do but were still unable to get in unless we wanted a 9:00 seating. One morning we were there about 9 to reserve...still no luck. Unsure as to how to get a reservation at a reasonable time. Price was right. Would go back. Hotel was sufficient, the island was beautiful!! Would I recommend to a friend...yes, explaining the above.

Very nice resort

Basic but clean rooms with amazing views and sunsets, relaxing hotel with space to roam and easy to get to everything you need, fun atmosphere, great location on beach with beautiful sand and about a half mile or so to walk safely, water gets deep quick and has a current so best to stay close to shore, Wonderful Staff, Great Food available at all times, replenished and kept covered at buffet and monitored continuously by staff. Entertainment was fantastic and changed every night, you can hear it in your room until about 10:30 if you do not care to watch which is quite enjoyable from your balcony as well and there was an awesome fire show
