The resort was beautiful and staff friendly

The food not as good. There were restrictions on supplies. I realize the Covid caused this. I was looking so forward to some salmon and white fish. Also I wanted mojitos .🥴😞 The pools and beach awesome, clean and beautiful. The staff friendly courteous attentive! If the food was better I’d return this year!

Great resort 👌

Excellent resort with amazing staff. Bad reviews are from people who haven't been to Cuba I'm assuming. Best food I've had in cuba you can always find something to eat and the a la carts are super good! Beach was amazing with Crystal clear turquoise water. They did not have any vodka at all but I was there during the Russian/Ukraine ordeal. They have a great coffee bar with tons to choose from lattes and capichanios included. Things they need that are very helpful from Canada to use for gi [... read more]fts or tips, clothing anything used is great,toothpaste and brushes, they really need children's medicine they mentioned also. It seems like 60% of people were repeat customers and I can see why. This is a no brainer for a resort on a budget.

Our favorite resort

This is our favorite resort so far. We have been few times already and plan to come many more. Great location, hotel, rooms, amenities, beach, pools, food, and many more. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Great resort!

Everything was excellent! Food was great, everything was clean, the staff was very friendly. Good covid measures were also in place. I would definitely recommend this resort. I don’t have any complaints.

Playa Pesquero 02/2022

This was our first time staying at this resort, been to Cuba before, and we were very impressed! The staff at Playa Pesquero are fantastic! their service and pride in their jobs shows. The resort itself is immense, the pools are very clean and spacious, and the restaurants are well staffed and supplied. The food was very good, and offered a nice variety. I would recommend this resort to anyone wanting to experience Cuba

A great place to get away!

If you like the water (ocean) and you enjoy spending the day on/around the beach this is the place! Great snorkeling right at the resort. Food is typical, however Caletones (seafood), Romantico and the Trattoria were great. Pub face at La Pipa (beer garden) was good. The people are amazing. FYI, no more CUC, so take as many Can $5 bills for tipping as you think you might require. We felt extremely safe and look forward to going back!

Very clean food was great always variety 4 a la cart restaurants pool was always clean very large plus clean Jacuzzis 4 in fact 👌 would love to return 😀 separate restaurants for 24 hour pizza ice cream beer served draft or bottle or can amazing 👏 coffe bar excellent cappuccinos and any other coffees 24 hours great weather bech restaurant fish or pasta 3 bars on the beach anything your heart desires is there 😀 😉 😄

Very nice resort .mean management

all over very good but no snack bars .according to resort snack bar open 24 hours .which was only one there was opening only for three and half hours a day .one thing was good beer bar was open 24 hours

One of the best

On arrival the occupancy rate was about 40% due to opening up the resort to Cubans until end of November. By departure once they left it was perhaps 20%. Top marks for presentation When we arrived we booked our restaurant reservations and were offered an upgrade to the Bistro restaurant for about $40 pp We thought we would treat ourselves to a good meal. It was terrible!!! Absolutely the worst meal of the trip. Undrinkable wine from Spain. Steak that you couldn’t cut. Lobster was fine. It was closed after that night (only two tables reserved) so I guess everyone else was warned. Snorkelling is mediocre. Certainly not a driver for this area Beach is one of best we have been to. Water clean and warm. Catamarans windsurfer paddle boats all good condition and readily available Pool is huge and unpopulated access to bars and quality of drinks is excellent One thing that I cannot understand is the numerous room upgrades very expensive and little value We had standard rooms a very satisfied If you think an upgraded room appeals to you, book in Canada much cheaper If you do visit Cuba please bring whatever you can. They need anything; school supplies, clothing, etc.

Great Value

Well maintained resort -always working on maintenance and cleaning. Friendly staff. COVID testing simple and well organized. Great sandy beach - lots of loungers and staff to help you set-up. Huge pool - spotless.

Beautiful Resort

My wife and I spent the week of November 15th,2021 and the beautiful Playa Pesquero. The staff was amazing no matter where you were, the grounds were kept very clean, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was limited at the buffet (which we had anticipated, everyone working there way out of Covid),that being said the food was quite good, The beach was amazing with a good Snorkeling location just off to the side with lots of fish. Some of the changes both in traveling and at the resort due to covid: Expect delays at the airport, There were quite a few cubans from Miami that were going home to see there families, with this came large amounts of luggage (gifts,clothes meedicine etc). This caused delays getting luggage checked through, loading and unloading it all off the plane etc. There had also been some lost luggage temporarily. On the resort everyone is required to wear a mask at the buffet and al la cartes, stores etc. same as at home. Sanitizing was taking place constantly. A PCR test was completed at the resort for 30USD and results were the next da I/we have nothing negative to say about the resort , the people or the overall experience. Any minor issues or inconveniences can easily be chalked up to working and traveling through covid. Note: we did learn that cash is not being expected for purchases while on the resort (we did not go off resort) all purchases are done with credit card. We had also changed some Canadian currency for Cuban Peso. I would not really suggest this. Most of what were heard was the Canadian money was a better option. Thank you to the staff at the Playa Pesquero, we look forward to seeing you again. We have already recommended to others and you will be seeing our Niece in December

Something for everyone

This was by far the best resort we have been to in Cuba. The pros for Cuba are always: - the people - the music - the beaches - the weather - the affordability The cons are traditionally: - rooms - food So this resort was tops on so many levels In addition to the standard pros: - the ability to snorkel right off the beach - a large pool that segregates party crowd from laid-back crowd - no shortage of beach or pool loungers and friendly staff to assist - a reasonable commute t [... read more]ime from the airport In contrast to the standard cons: - rooms are HUGE; beds are ok but we take extra pillows to leave for the locals - there is always something great to eat - there are large number and variety of eating establishments - the beer bar (with bottled beer) is unique This is the first resort that I would make plans to go back to as it ticked so many boxes

Amazing Resort!

The resort was absolutely beautiful, the grounds were well kept, the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall the a-la-carte's were great, the buffet was also good plenty of selection to choice from. The pool was very large and clean, the beach was amazing especially the seeing all the fish. Catarman was awesome! I can't say enough about the staff they were spectacular. The entertainment shows were enjoyable.

Home away from home

This place was amazing. The grounds were amazingly well taken care of. The staff remembered you each time seeing you and cracked jokes every chance they got. Sometimes seeing us not needing to take our order because they “knew” what we wanted from the day before. The hotel room was so inviting... best sleep ever. And never out of supplies. Friendly, well run resort

There are a lot of good things to say about this hotel. It is attractive and very clean. Rooms and all areas were immaculate. We were also impressed by how well it was run. There was never a line up. Staff are always polite, helpful and friendly. Service was excellent. The pool is amazing, large and meandering. The beach is not large and is rocky in places. If you like a wide, long beach, this is not the place. Lots of chairs at the beach and around the pool. The food is average. The [... read more]re are several different places to eat and four a la carte restaurants are available with reservations. There are several 24 hour options available including a coffee bar and alcohol bar in the lobby area. Lots of alcohol variety. There is a bus into the market at Guardaleva for 5 pesos. The market is not really worth the visit. The public beach there is worth visiting. We met several people who return to this resort over and over. This is a large resort so possible long walks from your room to amenities. We got used to this. This resort is recommended.

Playa Pesquero Cuba

I traveled with my wife and stayed there 9 days. We were in the Premium section of the hotel. We loved it there, the staff was amazing, room gorgeous. The personnel very friendly and helpful. The whole atmosphere was amazing. We cannot wait to go back. Food amazing.

Very friendly resort

Grounds are well kept, some buildings need fresh paint.Wash rooms need re- done, with walk in showers only,tubs are too high to step in to.No potatoes or white wine,not good.A few more English TV channels needed.Transat rep not overly friendly.

Great Resort

Great resort, food, beach, all. We were there at the end of Feb 2020 with our 14 mth old twins and had a great time. The only item to bring up is that the rooms are not really updated- still looking like rooms from the 80s/tiles old and bathrooms outdated. However, they were very clean, mattresses new and there were no bugs & insects of any kind! We slept peacefully and really enjoyed our stay at Playa Pesquero. Great resort

We were pleasantly surprised by this resort, it was beautifully landscaped, clean with friendly staff. There were lots of options for eating throughout the day and many locations around the pool and on the beach to grab a drink. The pool area had lots of shade to escape the sun as did the beach. We did run into a couple of issues with the first room we were given, very musty with mold on the walls. The staff did find us a new room but we had to wait until the following day. When booking we up [... read more]graded to a Montecristo Room which is not worth the upgrade. The room was no different then any of the other rooms. There was no wristband, no free bottle of rum (even after requesting one). Overall we had a great trip and would go back, but stay on the premium side in the newer buildings and enjoy the adult only environment.

Amazing resort!!

The only criticism I have is to work on the service at the Mediterranean a lactate restaurant. The pool bar was amazing and the service at the beach was surprisingly fast and the guys that setup the sail boats and peddle boats were great.
