Hotel Rancho Luna: A GOOD TIME was had by US!!

Our room was fine, a pair of double beds, despite requesting a King sized bed but you can't get everything you want. The food was fine and seemed to get better and more diverse as each day passed. The staff are as FRIENDLY as they were when I was last here 12 years ago. Minor damage to the site from the Hurricanes last year. VERY AMUSED to find the POOL now is filled with SEA WATER and not fresh water and more. So "cool" to float without SINKING to the bottom!! My ONLY GRIPE is [... read more] that when invited to the "returning guest" dinner WE were not informed that the doors would ONLY BE OPEN for 10 MINUTES, ARRIVAL between 6:30 to 6:40 PM ONLY. OUR arrival at 6:50 PM meant we were NOT ALLOWED to enter and enjoy the company of other returning guests or the "special" dinner available!!! All in all a VERY NICE WEEK with my NEW WIFE and a chance to make NEW MEMORIES!!

Hotel Rancho Luna: Small resort with large hospitality.

Hotel Rancho Luna: Resort deteriorating rapidly

I have been coming to this resort for years but last few years is deteriorating fast.Room moldy toilets and showers leaking unable to sleep changed three rooms in three days same happened to few more people which I meat at reception when they were informing staff .Very disappointed this time.

Club Amigo Ancon: Resort is not amazing.

The hotel is old. Rooms are too small. When we tried to exchange it, no chance. No hair dryer in a bathroom.Towels very old. Food was not great, to get a grilled fish or meat, req'd to spend a lot of time in a line. Veggies are not fresh Tea is not easy to get in a main restaurant Main 24-hours bar with drinks never had food such as pizza or hamburger. Beach is nice, and sea water great for swimming. Entertainment in the evening was ok. They were trying to have music played in the restaurant or bar during dinner as well. Main lobby area was big enough with ping pong tables, pool, tennis court nearby. Entertainment close to the swimming pool was ok.

Hotel Rancho Luna: It was great!

This is a laidback resort that has a beautiful setting. It has all the basics. Basic rooms, basic food,basic entertainment and I loved it. The people are friendly , the tours are cool and the beach offered great snorkellin , free paddle boats and catamaran

Hotel Rancho Luna: Great Value and Weather!!

I visited Hotel Rancho Luna from March 2 > March 16, 2018. The price was a reasonable $1115 for the two weeks. This was my 2nd time there, as I was there at roughly the same time in 2017. I would go again. The flight was with Cubana Air, and was quite enjoyable. They provided a meal/snack, and you could buy a Cristal [Cuban beer] for $3.00. The room was on the small side, but was pleasant enough. There was a new LED television, but limited channels. The AC worked well, and there is no charge for the safe. The water pressure and hot water was exceptional: the best I've encountered in Cuba. The food was generally good, but not great. However, for a 3 star resort it was more than adequate. Breakfast was always good, and there was ample fruit at all meals. The abundant white grapefruit was the best I have ever tasted!! The liquidy yogurt at breakfast is very pleasant. Unfortunately there is only white bread, so you may want to take a source of fiber with you. The weather was superb: 2 weeks of warm [25 to 30] and sunny weather. Being on the south shore, such is quite common. The beach is not the white sand you find in Varadero or Cayo Coco, but is located in a bay, so the water is generally calm. The snorkeling is decent. The bottom is generally weedy: less so at the public beach, which is a 10 minute walk away. The pool is large and immaculate!! The staff at Hotel Rancho Luna are generally kind and caring, especially in the buffet. Do take gifts and tip on a regular basis. Resort workers earn about 20 CUC's [around $28] a MONTH. Hence, tipping them 1 or 2 CUC's [convertible pesos] helps immensely. They are generally wonderful people. Hotel Rancho Luna: Very nice 4* resort

Food was very basic,simple,healthy,meat,fish,eggs were being cooked while you wait,as well as in the buffet. Very clean,safe,friendly atmosphere. Family oriented.Beautiful beach,large pool and separate small one for the tiny tots. Club Amigo Costa Sur: A relaxing, pleasant week!

We enjoyed our one week stay at Club Amigo Costa Sur. There were not a lot of people at the time which was fine with us. The grounds are well kept, the room was always tidy and clean and the other buildings seemed fresh at all times. Food at the buffet and the grill was always delicious even if there was very little variety. The one a la carte restaurant served a lovely meal. Lots of fresh towels and linens. The washrooms in the lobby and the pool area were a constant disappointment. There was a [... read more]lways a broken door, missing seats, and never enough toilet paper. They were also a fair distance from the beach. We often had to trek all the way back to our room to use a clean, dependable toilet. Our only other disappointment was that we could not upgrade to a bungalow even though we saw several that were unused. I do have to say that the staff were the friendliest we have ever met. The hotel was a bit dated but very clean and the staff were lovely 😊 I would recommend this hotel and this resort to my friends The beach was beautiful and there was lots to do such as mini put ping pong 🏓 etc

Hotel Rancho Luna: Sun, Sand, a warm winter getta away from the tourist crowds

This resort is quietly isolated, not in an artificial tourist trap. Weather excellent. Free shuttle daily into the Cienfuegos, maybe 20 minutes. Bang for your buck. Airport to hotel 20 minutes (bonus). Staff very friendly, hotel is clean, variety of food continually all day, local drinks free. If you want a 5* go elsewhere. If you would like to do numerous all inclusive trips, include Rancho Luna. Lots to do, if you choose. Repeat customers get a special free lobster dinner. Rooms clean staff friendly and courteous. Close to the city beaches clean. Been before will go again.have been to many resorts around Cuba this is probably one that is well spaced out. Not overly large

Club Amigo Costa Sur: We love Club Amigo Costasur -- It's our home away from home

We have stayed here three years in a row. This time for one month. We like the people who work there and the people who stay there and we feel like family. The weather is always amazing and so is the ocean and the view of the Sierra Escambray mountains.

Hotel Rancho Luna: Amazing place

Outstanding location, beautiful ocean view! Free shuttle bus service to Cienfuegos city everyday. we can relax in resort or take a walk in the city also. The resort provides a wonderful Trinidad tour, just CUC 25 per person. We can walk around the resort and understand Cuban country life.

Hotel Rancho Luna: It’s a good place if the price is in the 500 range

The food is about a 6 out of ten . The beach not good lots of sand fleas . . I have talked to people that had bed bugs in rooms . Have been there about ten trips . If it’s between 500 and 550 dollars it’s good no more . Always lots of Canadians. Remember it’s Cuba so lots of young women with older guys normal for Cuba

Club Amigo Ancon: amazing beach

The beach makes up,for any shortcomings of this resort. It is literally steps from the hotel, beautiful white sand, no tide, enough beach chairs and umbrellas with nobody expecting a tip to brush the sand off. Having said that, the hotel,is mediocre, but clean. Rooms are smallish. This is not a party place for young couples, rather flavored by the retired crowd (they have prunes for all three meals). Hotel Rancho Luna: BEST RESORT FOR BEST MONEY!

Rancho Luna is the best deal, not only in Cuba, but the whole Carbeen! The rooms are simple, but clean, washed and cleaned daily. The beach is safe, both from being bothered and safe for swimming. I have been going for20 years and have never been had any kind of problem. A friendly place, with friendly people. The food us good and always a fine choice. Club Amigo Ancon: Tolerated for a week - I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL (the recommendation button keeps showing yes)

The hotel has a great sandy beach and you can walk in either direction for some distance and the ocean is the Caribbean so it is pretty warm and great for swimming. The pool was fixed from the last time we were there and it is very large and inviting but we preferred to be in the ocean. We stayed in the superior rooms and the bathroom tiles are cracked. Mosquitoes were let into the room each time the maid cleaned and we were full of bites even though we hunted them before bedtime. The main b [... read more]uilding did not have hot water. The food was the same every day and nothing special; they did grill fish and chicken and pork but meat was not plentiful. Salads were mainly leftovers thrown together and did not appeal to me. The service was not good, we often got our own glasses, if any could be found; our own coffee cups if any could be found and brought kleenex or hardly used napkins from the day before because napkins were scarce. People would butt in and the cooks often served someone behind you and left you standing there to wait again because they only grilled 5 or 6 fish or pieces of meat at a time. If you came in later to eat, no one was in a hurry to find or clean a table for you and the dishes and cutlery were scarce. We filled up on omelettes and crepes in the morning and forgot about lunch and went in for supper. Pasta was made fresh with ingredients that you picked. The beach bar ran out of beer for a day; out of fries for a day and only had ham & cheese sandwiches -- no pizza and HAMburgers were available one afternoon made out of ham but nothing on it. The grounds are not pretty, actually sad looking. The hotel had new beach chairs and we had new mattresses in our room (not everybody had new and we heard some horror stories about the old mattresses) with sheets that did not fit and kept coming off every time you turned over and I slept on plastic every night when I got tired of fixing the sheets. We have stayed twice here and twice next door because of the beach, but it's time to move on. Folks, you get what you pay for. It was a very cheap holiday and we met some lovely people there.

Hotel Rancho Luna: Great resort-worth money

Clean rooms-well looked after services-access to long beach-our time - Jan 2018 end to Feb 1st week- Had plenty of sunshine and was able to enjoy the calm sea-some light winds. The food was good as usual but still needs some different variety -as usual this is hard to be found in Cuba. The resort had friendly atmosphere as more Adults and few kids .

The staff are friendly and good service at the restaurant and rooms. Everything is clean. The resort is old but has a nice landscaping for 3 star that they said. It was nice that we were far from other resorts in the area and surrounded by farms. Beach is nice. Gym is a joke. They offered massage on the beach that I make sure not to miss next time. Nice pool and I enjoyed the entertainment programs specially sailing. staff at the front counter were not helpful but overall good value for the fee.
