We had an amazing stay at this all-inclusive resort in Cuba. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their warmth, friendliness, and constant smiles. I would also encourage guests to consider bringing small personal essentials and treats to share. Items such as Tylenol, feminine products, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste toothbrushes, powdered soups, crackers, peanut butter and sweets for the children are greatly appreciated.packing these items in ziplockss or tied socks makes it easy to distribute. These everyday necessities can make a meaningful difference for families and staff, many of whom work incredibly hard while earning approximately $35 USD per month. In addition take lots of one dollar USD bills for tips. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a safe, friendly, stress-free all-inclusive escape in Cuba.

we had a great time at the hotel. We enjoys the beach, the pool, and the staff were all very nice and attentive to their clients especially the one at the lobby serving and asking whatever we wants. we also loved watching the shows.

Sol Palmeras: A Lovely Piece of Paradise

For a resort in Cuba, I would rate this resort, a 9/10. I have stayed in Cayo Coco and Holguin before and this hotel definitely had the best rooms. The water pressure was great and the room was made up every day and was kept very clean by the exceptional maid service. There is a lovely coffee bar, an ice cream bar near the beach, a larger bar near the beach and then a small bar very close to the beach plus a lovely bar inside. There were no shortages. There were eggs, fruit, and bread everyday. The pizza was delicious and the pasta station was great. The entertainment is very lively and generous. There are many lovely areas to sit both inside and out while you are relaxing and enjoying time with your fellow travelers. The beach is spectacular. The water was warm and clear with ocean breezes creating waves. We felt very safe, knowing there was a lifeguard who was monitoring. There were fun activities on the beach as well, including stretching in the water and Zumba. I am not a drinker, but the others in my group enjoyed the bars and found the bartenders to be very friendly and accommodating. The nonalcoholic piña coladas were awesome. We had a spectacular holiday over Christmas and made many memories. We also did a day trip to Havana which I would highly recommend.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Awesome vacation

Our 5th time at this resort , was there in May 2025- at this time the AC did not work anywhere and the food/drinks were limited but this time Nov 2025 things were alot better. Rooms- were very clean, the AC did not work well they changed our room and it still wasn't working that well. Melia Internacional: Stay At Melia

The hotel is equipped with all the facilities. View is pretty clean. Service is not very something someone would appreciate after paying high dollars. Some of the staff is unresponsive to your needs. Furthermore the food actually is super bad even though they had prime dining restaurants its actually super bad. Rooms are not the greatest for the amount you pay

Resonance Blu Varadero: Week stay

Just returned yesterday after a week vacation at this resort We stayed in the Blu side and stick to this side mainly . We walked thru mostly to get to beach but that's about it The check in was fine , we arrived early and our room wasn't ready but they stored luggage til they got us our room early just to drop bags and change The resort was empty ..in all my travels to Cuba (this was my 12) I have never seen a resort this quiet .but in speaking with our other friends that work at various re [... read more]sorts it's the same everywhere .it would appear most resorts are very empty. The beach is beautiful..it Cuba sandy and it was calm on the days we were there , lots of loungers available. Our room was a first floor building 28 closest to the pool and main lobby . The location was perfect . Be prepared , no safes and we had to ask maintenance to come and repair our sliding door to help it lock and we created a door jamb while we were not in the room. The room has a definite small of mildew and mold . The beds were comfortable . No coffee maker in our room and no glasses ..we just grabbed some from the buffet for room cocktails or coffee (we being a travel kettle ) The grounds were beautifully kept up and yes it's dark but let's be thankful we have power at the resorts as the locals do not. Bring a flashlight and leave it when you go . The bars - pool bar , beach bar and lobby bar were great they had everything we needed or wanted - vodka, gin, even soda and tonic ! Lots of red wine and of course beer (yes Cristal) The food in main buffet was Cuba buffet - they are doing the best with what they have Pizza station and fried rice were a nice surprise! They had ketchup , mustard and hot sauce and hp where we were there . Yes there are a ton of birds in main buffet...but your eating outside lol We only went to one al la carte the Japanese again- food was fine and people were amazing The staff are phenomenal, simple amazing ! Considering the hours they work and their hardships at home they are amazing ! I encourage everyone to actually get off the resort and go and experience Cuba ❤️ take some time and talk to them and understand and appreciate their history and their present . My partner always gets bitten by anything and even with spray and cream he got bit but not anymore or less then other trips ( bring spray and leave spray ) We used a local tour guide (and friend as we have used him for approx 11 excursions over the years ) Leysester Ortega We did a snorkel tour to the Bay of Pigs highly recommend for the history and the ? Paradisus Varadero: Very good hotel, outstanding personnel!

Chose the resort primarily for the sport activities, proximity to the beach and swimming pools. Exceeded my own and my family's expectations. While there is a nice basketball court, were no basketball hoops - we donated our basketball to the personnel. Played tennis and table tennis instead. Take your own sports gear if you enjoy sports. Had modest expectations for food reading all the reviews - yet the food was decent with plenty of choices - exceeded my expectations.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: A nice trip, but wouldn't return

I had a great time despite some of the issues. My room was on the ground floor, the patio door had no lock and was impossible to open without putting all of my weight into it. The room was damp, and there were multiple signs of mold in different locations. My room was cleaned twice and I ran out of toilet paper. The mini fridge was not restocked despite it being advertised as a perk of upgrading. The shower flooded the entire bathroom with each use and there was a drip above the toilet that made [... read more] the toilet wet at all times. I spoke to other guests and they complained about the same sort of issues and were upgraded to much nicer rooms. I didn't complain (probably should have said something), I don't think you should have to in order to get what you pay for. The food was okay and there were always plenty of options. The facilities were a bit rundown in the sanctuary area. The small pool was empty, the fountains/waterfalls were all off and not functioning and the lighting was not always working. The staff were great at the sanctuary pool/snack bar, outside of that I had a mostly neutral experience. The grounds were beautiful and well kept, it was sad to see a lot of garbage around in some places, not the fault of the staff but rather a reflection of the guests. Overall I got what I went for, which was sun and some quiet time but I don't think I would return to this resort in particular for the price I paid.

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Great mini vacation

The resort was very clean and rooms were spacious and comfortable. The housekeepers were extremely friendly and helpful. There were times some foods or drinks ran out but there was always plenty of options and the food tasted good so it was never an issue for us or the kids. The pool chairs were extremely uncomfortable but there was always availability and the pool and pool bar were awesome. Very good resort. Clean, and good service throughout. They try so hard with what they have to work with. Mostly powdered juices for mix at bars but the beer is always nice and cold and plentiful and always had red wine at the buffet. Lots of fresh food choices as well. I'm going back someday ?

Our stay was very pleasant, loved the coffee shop on the premises!!! Hop on hop off bus is right outside of the hotel and passes every 30 minutes✔️very convenient way to visit Veradaro city centre. Beach was amazing!

I'll start off by saying all the staff were great aseral is amazing guy who brought me to my room but all the front staff and security were great not big on the food but I ate out at restaurants mostly and I do understand it's tough for Cuba for things so very understandable .I'll be back again soon

Grand Memories Varadero: Avoid

There was no toilet paper, bottled water or clean towels on arrival. It was a challenge to get toilet paper or clean towels most of my stay. I never got any beach towels even after requesting them. I had been to this resort once before and the food was okay that time. The quality of the food has gone done considerably. My toilet seat was hanging by a thread. My room was not made up when I arrived. The nightly shows were considerably worse than my previous visit. Management seemed to not [... read more] care at all about guests. I fell on my third day there on a water covered floor. Had to get 11 stitches on my head. No one at the resort seemed to care. STAY AWAY.

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Awesome Resort!

This was an amazing resort to stay at. It was always clean, the staff were extremely kind, the food was delicious, and the beach was beautiful. I fully recommend to go to Grand Aston in Varadero if you're thinking about going to cuba!!

Melia Marina Varadero: Very Impressed!

This resort exceeded our expectations. The grounds and superstructure are beautifully manintained. The room was renovated, clean and quiet. The mattress was new and very comfortable resulting in excellent sleep quality. We were on the 4th floor and had an ocean view even though we paid for a standard room. The week we were there (11-18 Dec) mosquitos were a non-issue and the weather was perfect ... 25-27 degrees during the day and 20-22 at night with no humidity. We didn't even need the a/c at night! There were absolutely NO SHORTAGES. Lots of food including fresh vegtables and proteins, no electricity issues whatsoever, and the beer, wine, and spirits were readily available. There is room for improvement, however, as the food is somewhat repetitive and food temperature at the buffet was inconsistent. The gym also needs to be updated as the equipment is old and lacking. I can't recommended this resort enough, especially given the price point. Star ratings are highly subjective but this is one of the nicest resorts we have been to in the 4 star range in the Caribbean, including Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

We stayed at Meliá Internacional Varadero as a family and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The resort is modern, spacious, and very well maintained, with a great layout that makes it easy to enjoy everything it has to offer. The pools were fantastic and suitable for all ages, and the beach was absolutely beautiful — clean, wide, and with crystal-clear water that Varadero is known for. The restaurants were well organized, and the service across the resort was consistently friendly and welcoming. The staff truly made a difference and helped make our stay even more enjoyable. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well taken care of, and the overall atmosphere of the resort struck a perfect balance between relaxation and family-friendly activities. There was always something to do, but it never felt loud or overwhelming. Overall, we loved everything the resort had to offer and would absolutely return. The hotel pretends to be five star.On arrival they asked us to pay extra money to upgrade the room.The upgraded room was just good enough.It had cockroaches.When we complained,they refunded us the money.

Paradisus Varadero: Beautiful and peaceful resort!

We had an amazing experience at the royal service at the Paradisus hotel. The room is a bit dated however the whirlpool tub outdoor Bali shower and the enormous king bed totally blew me away! The bed totally comfortable and the pillows as well We did experience a few hiccups however as the rain flooded part of our bathroom as well as our sitting area couple of times. Our room was well kept the extra attention was extraordinary!!! Our restaurant was the best place to eat in the whole resort! we soon realized it was the best option available and so we decided to eat there and only there for the rest of our stay . The staff, Viviana Gabriella Laura and many others gave us exceptional service every time ! Always a smile laughing and engaging with the guests so much so they soon felt like family !! Our butlers Oswaldo and Alex always making sure our every desire was met to the best of their ability!!! Alex even brought some supplies from his home to try and stop the rain from entering our bathroom and attempted to repair it himself!! We were offered a room change however we realized other guests were experiencing similar issues and since we only had 2 days left we decided to keep our room which had a phenomenal view of the ocean !!! Our pool area was very tranquil at the royal service and always had plenty of deck chairs Bali beds and fresh towels ! Our pool bartender Jorge also exceptional and made the best cocktails we ever had !!! You never had to move your deck bed on your own, there was the pool man who always offered to move your chair bed and table and would offer to open or move the umbrella to shade you if you so desired!! Total luxury and always smiling friendly staff who went way beyond to make sure your every need was met!!! Finally we booked a private tour to Havana with Roberto which absolutely was the cherry on top of the cake !!! He was extremely knowledgeable and provided us with a wealth of information !!! He was so gracious and made sure we were happy the whole tour!! He gave us ample time to take pictures ask questions and stop to shop for souvenirs along the way ! He brought us to a beautiful outdoor restaurant with music dancing and amazing menu!! Wow what an experience all this and we were driven around in his gorgeous 57 Chevy!!! We would definitely visit Cuba again and now we will only go to the Paradisus in Varadero as our Cuban family eagerly awaits our return!!! We also miss them all so very much !!!

Starfish Varadero: Very disappointing resort overall

Every day we experienced something wrong at this resort. No towels or safe working in our rooms the first night. The toilet ran all night. The bed was very uncomfortable, was like a bunk bed mattress. When we asked to upgrade we were sent to a room with mould and a brown tub. So I guess we would want to go back to our first room ! Games played ! Then we were told at reception, that we could upgrade if we paid cash in American dollars ( because the visa wasn’t working ). Finally we were offered an upgrade with a discount in Canadian dollars for a bungalow( after lengthy conversations with sunwing and client services ). We finally get to our bungalows and my friend’s lock does not work at all so she put a couch against the door ! The next day her air conditioned was leaking and she had cockroaches in her room. My card for my room had to be replaced 6 times because it didn’t work. Then, finally my lock had to be totally replaced too! No ice and out of hot dogs at the snack bar. Dance teachers were not motivating at all. Many staff members were friendly in the buffet area and a la cartes and bars. Beach is beautiful but stay away from this resort. Worst vacation of my life ! Couldn’t wait to get home !
