Whala Boca Chica: Great Staff!

Rooms And resort were dated, but clean. Food was good, as well. The staff and the people of Boca Chica were amazing. Close to Santo Domingo which was vibrant with culture and history!! Melanie the concierge was amazing!! Thanks Melanie. The only negative staff member was our Transat representative. Terrible representation of the company and was not at all helpful.

Whala Boca Chica: Best trio ever!!!

The hotel was a lil old but very well maintained. 2 pools, night entertainment, buffet. Food wasn't the best but it was okay. The staff were really nice, the beach was open to the public but security everywhere. Restaurants along the beach as well . some people sale stuff on the beach and they are very pushy. Great trip

Coral Costa Caribe: very nice resort, nice and clean.

the rooms were spacious, tolits need some work.restaurants were very nice. Food. was very good. Nice variety.staff were very friendly and helpful. Conciere AJ was an amazing person.He was the man if you needed info.

Coral Costa Caribe: Beach is Beautiful, but the rooms are very run dow

Just got back from Coral Costa Caribe. What can I say. Had a good time, but certainly not because of this Resort. The best thing about this resort is the beach. Absolutely beautiful! The pool is small, but average. The people at this resort do not speak much English. We would ask for one thing and they would ask us if we were asking for something totally different. We would ask for a drink at the bar which is listed on their board and they had no idea what we were talking about. If it's on your  [... read more]board then you should know what your serving. We go away 3 times a year and we have never come back from a resort and had such negative feedback. Little things don't bother us, but there are just too many things wrong with this resort. The first night we got there we had 2 rooms and both rooms had dirty stained sheets on all 4 beds. Not acceptable. One room had 3 lights that didn't work as well as a toilet that wouldn't flush. They have no water pressure there so it is a big problem. We went to Customer Service and told them about the sheets and that we were not happy with the rooms. They were old and run down and the mattress were like concrete. We were told they would change the sheets and for us to see our rep the next day which we did. They did come and change the sheets and put clean sheets on and sent a plumber to fix the toilet. The next day we changed rooms. I asked to be put in the rooms that they are displaying on their site. The customer service rep just laughed and said they didn't have rooms like that. The problems with these rooms is that there is no water pressure. I had to take a video to show them the little trickle of water that was coming out of the shower. You actually had to hold your hands underneath to catch the water. This wasn't just in our room. It was in our daughter and my sister-in-law. They said they would send a plumber, but this problem never got fixed. There is just not enough pressure. Half of the time we didn't even know if we would get hot water. Again in these rooms the mattresses were sleeping on concrete. None of the patio doors locked and when we enquired about this we were told to get a safe that none of the patio doors locked. I guess our money would be safe, but I don't know about us. My daughter wanted to go to the gym everyday, but when we checked it out, it was in a dark, dingy basement not safe to be in alone for a teenage girl. The gym was very small with what equipment they had piled together on dirty mats that looked they haven't been cleaned in a very long time. It was not in a very safe location and anything could have happened down there and no one would know. Entertainment is not always the best at these resorts, but we always manage to watch them and enjoy them. Not at this resort. Sadly lacking for entertainment. Food was a whole other issue. Not enough variety of food and the meat was always so tough that you couldn't even eat it. I have never been so disappointed in food at a resort before. Be prepared to be bombarded while you are on the beach with the locals that set up over to the side and every half hour one of them walks by trying to sell something. They just keep switching up people and sending them over. It got to be so annoying. We bought stuff from them, we had massages from them, we bought paintings from them and yet they just kept coming. The only saving grace about this resort is the beach. Unfortunately, not enough for me to ever go back to this resort.

BelleVue Dominican Bay: Terrible resort

The room was awful. The staff was nice and helpful. The food was terrible. There was no pool near the beach the beach was far away. The town is kind of scary. I would never go back there. I lost 5 pounds not eating

Weather great. Water calm. Small beach. Hotel run down. Mold on bathroom ceilings, leaky taps & toilets on resort. Little storage, 4 hangers. Poor service. Faulty keys .Beach far & 45 stairs each way!

Be Live Experience Hamaca Suites: Fantastic Resort

Our room was 315 in main building and looked straight onto the ocean, it was just lovely...It was quite a large room with king size bed, two comfy chairs and a small coffee table...The balcony was huge with two wooden chairs and a small table...There was a large walk in closet and bathroom with tub and shower... The beach was just beautiful, and water crystal clear...The food and drinks were plentiful and very good !!!

Coral Costa Caribe: Good resort, just good

Food was no problem, grounds were kept superb. Staff in general was good. I felt they could've seemed to care a little more. Never waited long time for anything, some stood above the rest. Rooms need work. Well ours did, we were in main c building, 4th floor. It's just old and the plumbing will work ...usually. We have good water pressure compared to most as our friends didn't, we had great flushing toilet where our other friends didn't. Beach was great, clean at resort but the venders are a pain except for some who are fun. But they pester you a lot and are aggressive. The games played on the beach are good, same all the time tho. Needs imagination is all. Simple layout change would go a long way. 24 hour food is nowhere near 24 bar. Not even a bar near the 24 food. Mexican a la carte was great, dominican and Italian not so much, disappointing actually. Something at sometime made us all feel bad , only for about 12 hours or so, then somehow it turns around. Not sure what, possibly the food being washed in the tap water,The tiny fruit fly like bugs that were everywhere? We travel with friends and we make a good time no matter where we go. We are open minded and take it all in as good. So minor things, the hotel was good! You gets what you pay for as this place was cheaper than most. Location of hotel from Punta Cana is far, but the drivers sure can get you there fast!! LOL

BelleVue Dominican Bay: Don't drink the water and don't eat the food

The grounds and pools were beautiful and very well kept. The rooms are old and worn, beds are really hard and some people complained of mold in the bathroom (we did not have mold in our room). The staff were friendly. The entertainment was well done and full of energy. The food was terrible! The buffet was always the same with a few exceptions (example on Mexican night they had premade hard shell tacos as one of the dishes), the food was never hot and I have no idea how long it sat it the warmin [... read more]g pans. The food looked like it was just thrown together with no thought to display. The morning breakfast did not even have fresh orange juice just the watery syrup drink. We spoke with 9 different Canadians and all got sick with diarrhea.

Coral Costa Caribe: Great food, great spot for our money!

The food at this resort was great! Buffet every day was new and interesting, and the a la carts were delicious! Service was excellent as well. I would suggest that this hotel add more bartenders to each bar as the poor guys were working their butts off to help everyone as fast as they could. The beach is decent, but if you're a swimmer, you aren't able to swim too far without seaweed on your legs. The "sales people" on the beach are a bit annoying, but once you have a tan they can see you've bee [... read more]n there for a while and stop bothering you so much. Loungers are a bit hard to come by, so it's a bit unfortunate that guests have to "save" their lounger by 8am. I'd recommend more loungers, and beach towels, as it's nice to get a fresh one half way through the day, but sometimes they weren't available. Entertainment is ok. Nothing special. Disco is a pretty cool spot.. just wish more people went to dance when we were there! Rooms are... tired. Floors, bathroom, beds are in need of repairs and replacement. Sheets and towels are clean, so that's really all you can ask for. No problems with leaks, or anything not working. Something I'm sure people are interested in knowing. We did not get sick at all during our vacation. Yay! We brought our own water bottles and filled them up at the buffet or bar and away we went! We didn't do any off resort excursions. The US dollar is just too high and everything is priced in US. We didn't do any shopping either. We paid under $1000 each for the first week of February, so I consider this vacation a good deal for our money

Beach nice rooms nice nothing to do at the hotel food the same all week Hotel way too far from airport Entertainment who nice. Funny and helpful a lot of local selling on the beach would not go to the resort again

Our room was badly situated 2142 view of the city. Saturday the club in town had a huge party it was loud til about 3AM. On a daily basis you can hear a dog bark, horns, cars, firetruck even heard 2 gun shot. Public was allowed on resort. The beach was across the street.

Great staff , good food , clean rooms , excellent location , priced just right for this getaway . what I wanted was more variety of food,more up to date safe boxes and no 50$ deposit ,the wifi to be more widespread through the hotel

BelleVue Dominican Bay: Fabulous vacation

Bus ride was a long one from airport .Reception was great we arrived late evening and the staff sent us to the buffet for dinner before they closed then we checked in.Room was clean and comfortable air conditioning could have been cooler at night.Pool bars and restaurants were all wonderful.Pool bar staff served skewers of fresh fruit around noon around the pool was a nice touch.Animacion crew were fantastic.They were very good at getting everyone to participate both in the games at the pool and [... read more] the theatre in the evening.The bar staff at the theatre were very .The beach was a bit of a walk with alot of stairs but worth the walk the bar was good on the beach.The Nolitours staff from Air transat were very helpful.Overall was a wonderful vacation.

Be Live Experience Hamaca Suites: Enjoyable Trip!

Clean room, friendly staff, refrigerator filled daily with beer and soft drinks, bottled water every day. Good AC. Beautiful view of ocean and garden. Food was ok. Alcoholic beverages were good. We loved the specialty restaurants especially the Gourmet Restaurant and Mexican Restaurant. Entertainment was lively (Michael Jackson Show, Brazilian and Dominican Shows, etc...) minor renovations throughout resort but mostly unnoticeable. Could get more lawn chairs both, in the Beach area and the Pool  [... read more]areas. One area which I believe could be dealt with is when tourists complain to staff, staff should avoid explaining or providing answers in the lobby. Tourists with complaints were somewhat loud and aggressive thus creating a stressful atmosphere to all of us present. Overall, my wife and I enjoyed this trip.

Coral Costa Caribe: Nice Resort

The food was excellent. They had a wide range of good there. The 3 speciality resturants were amazing. The overall rating of the resort I would give a 4. The beach was excelent and and the pools were even better. The rooms were a let down. But you are not in them a lot of time so it makes up for it.

Coral Costa Caribe: Overdue Renovation Resort

The resort was likely fantastic at one point as it has a lot of potential, but is in such poor repair & dire need of renovations and updates. The rooms are run down, plumbing is smelly and doesn't function well, lighting and electrical wiring needs to be checked out. Casino only had about 1/4 of their slot machines working. There is a lot of room for improvement & proper upkeep would make this resort way more enjoyable.

all was great, uprated to ocean view which the 150 extra was worth it. food was OK too, but not great. nice weather and great ocean pool. they are using a wall to break the waves. the locals are nice, but if they ever leave you alone for a minute not trying to sell you stuff.

Rooms..not up to date, unless on the ocean view....not enough evening activities...disco and show, not enough. Respectfully, major language barrier. Food great! Beach bars close at six, no lobby bar. Too much walking for people with any disability. The ocean view only has one bar, for your buffet meals, you have to walk across the street to the garden view side.....even if it rains!

Did not get the room we paid for,had to wait 3 hours and still not happy with what the gave us. Many local harrass you when out walking. Pool was dirty and bad lighting on stairs. Not as advertised would not return
