Grand Oasis Cancun: Not what was expected.

Staff were good with guests, May spoke English and only a few did not. Cleanliness NEEDS work. Better description of the resort is required. You must upgrade an additional $400/nt cad to have bacon at the buffet. It’s really 3 resorts on one property. Food variety (there is none). Same food every day but it is cooked well. Only 1 tender at each bar and no blenders for drinks. Had to chase housekeeping to replenish room coffee and floor was not swept once. No option when booking to upgrade to w [... read more]hite or black bracelet. Blue bracelet: access to about 50% bars and restaurants. White: about 75% ($200/nt extra) black: 100% resort access for about $400/nt extra.

Ocean Allure Costa Mujeres: Wonderful Resort

We really enjoyed our stay at Ocean Allure. The resort was beautiful, with a great room, wide range of restaurants and a spectacular beach. The service was exceptional with a very well trained, caring and attentive resort team. Fitness Centre was also excellent.

Planet Hollywood Adult Scene Cancun by Royalton: Not bad but not my scene

Travel: Flew with Sunwing/WS, no issues with leg room on flight. Did not check a bag so I did not have to wait for my bags to arrive. My friends came in with Air Canada and arrived at a different terminal and they took a private transfer on arrival. I took the included transfer with Sunwing and we didn’t leave the airport for 2.5 hours. My friends were at the hotel before I even left and then it was an hour to the hotel. I checked in around 4:30 and my room was ready on arrival. I was provided r [... read more]oom 14-106, a swim up with a king sized bed. Room: King sized bed with 4 pillows. Mini bar stocked with water, soda, and two Dos Equis. Lots of storage in the room, plus a safe and a steamer. Bathroom had two sinks, and a separated toilet stall and separate shower stall. Shampoo, body wash, conditioner, soap and body cream in bathroom. Hair dryer worked very well! No issues with hot water or water pressure. 4 towels, 2 hand towels and 3 face cloths on arrival. It was easy to set the AC and the fan.. having the AC set to a lower temperature and the fan going helped to keep the dampness at bay. Ground floor rooms can be a bit musty, but it was only uncomfortably damp/musty after a downpour one afternoon. Clients can request a dehumidifier, which can help. I did not request my room to be cleaned/made up as I was only there for 4 nights. Ordered room service one night off the late night menu, took 40 minutes to arrive. Pizza was so-so. Block 14 gets partial sun, 12 and 13 are shaded, and 15 and 16 are full sun. My friends rooms in block 15 had a warmer swim up pool and less musty of a smell. My swim up was definitely chilly, but I loved the private outdoor space and I also enjoyed the pool a few times. Cannot see ocean from room, and the buildings echo the noise from the pool so it’s not super relaxing. My room had a strange electrical panel that flashed a green light all night—occasionally the light would flash red. It was a bit annoying, but not enough to complain, though I did mention it at checkout. Having the swim up was honestly great—as an introvert who loves shade, it was a game changer for me. Next all inclusive we will be going the swim up route I think! Food: Adults scene gets two extra a la carte restaurants, Braza and Catch. They are also open for breakfast, as well as a la carte lunch. Food was generally ok to good, with a few items that really stood out. The chilaquiles at Braza for breakfast were good, as was the French toast. The Pico de Gallo, guac and chips at Catch for lunch were excellent. The Teppanyaki was the best a la carte dinner I had. I also ate at the Sushi (so so), Catch for dinner (lobster bisque was amazing, everything else was ok), the Steakhouse (good appetizers, but didn’t like the mains so much), the burger bar (when they made the veggie burger fresh, it was fine though it was a really long wait for food here), and the buffet (my least favourite, I did not enjoy the buffet at all—the buffet seemed especially small considering the number of guests that it serves). I would say the food was consistently fine—they were concerned about food allergies and asked every time we checked into a restaurant, and my Celiac friend was impressed with the care that they took. She was also provided an allergy card. Some of my friends did seem to have some issues with the food, and one got food poisoning or a noro-type bug that lasted 48 hours. Reservations for restaurants should be made early and can be requested through the app. Drinks: the wine at this resort was surprisingly fine. They had a decent merlot and cab sauv for reds, a nice chardonnay for whites (also a sauv blanc which I didn’t try), and the sparkling wine was nice and dry. I didn’t like the rose here, I found it too sweet. Mixed drinks seemed to be hit and miss and I found that the best mixed drinks were at the adults only lobby bar. They made a nice espresso martini there, and one night they made me a good Manhattan with Canadian Club ? the drinks at the family side were less consistent (the bars were much busier there), and they made my Manhattan with Jack Daniels (a travesty lol). They also made me a really nice non-alcoholic passionfruit slush at the beach bar (Marco at the beach bar was a delight). Entertainment and activities: the evening shows were alright (that we went to), daytime activities also alright. The disco here was actually pretty good. Most of the entertainment was on the family side—it could be hard to tell what the show was and when, and sometimes the listed entertainment and app didn’t match what was happening. Some of the shows were more popular than others (ie. The folklore show was my favourite, but barely had anyone watching, whereas the Michael Jackson show was packed to the brim). The lazy river was popular and there were a lot of sports to play on the family side. You could also pay extra for activities like the Flow Rider and that seemed popular. The gym was well received by my friends, and they attended a lot of fitness classes. There were aqua aerobics, games, Spanish classes, trivia, and dance lessons at the adults only pool. The pool: I didn’t go in the main pool at all because I had the swim up. We got chairs there one day (chair game is rampant at this hotel! I got up at 6am on my last day for my transfer, and people were down at the pool putting stuff on loungers). The water was pretty cold as they had just had two weeks of unseasonably cold temperatures. Poolside service was quick and friendly, lots and lots of towels to be had (no card or exchange system, but take what you want/need), and there’s a taco truck at the adults only pool which looked good but didn’t have a tonne of vegetarian options. The beach: the sand here is really nice and soft, just a bit of rocks going in. The water is beautiful and turquoise with fairly large waves and it’s a bit rough, especially when windy. Great walking beach! I didn’t see anything on the beach that made me concerned (I read reviews of manatee poop, crocodiles, jellyfish, etc.). Getting loungers were easy, getting loungers with an umbrella were not as easy but they will help you find one if you don’t get down early. Beachside service will bring you drinks, and the guys at the beach bar are also great. No issues with seaweed, there was a bit each day but really barely noticeable. The staff: every staff member I interacted with was lovely. Special shout out to Marco at the beach bar, as well as Fernando and Moises at Catch and Braza. Overall impression: this resort was a solid 4 star—I would not sell it as a true adults only given how much of the amenities are on the family side, and the vibe wasn’t super relaxing IMO. However would be a good option for multi-generational travel, and there doesn’t seem to be a huge difference in price between the sections. Internet worked oddly sometimes, WIFI was best near the lobby though you could still get it at the beach. It reminded me a lot of the new build Riu and Riu Palaces (some things better and some things not done as well). Not having the Star Class upgrade didn’t seem to negatively impact our experience, though they do have a preferred location for rooms and some of their swim ups are actually oceanfront, which I think would vastly improve the swim up experience. This resort is quite big! I easily did 10,000 steps a day just walking around the property. I would not repeat as the property is not my usual vacation style (also I almost never repeat resorts since there’s so much to try!), though I would love to come back to Costa Mujeres, which I think is the best of both worlds (less seaweed than Riviera Maya, not as commercialized as Cancun proper).

Senator Riviera Cancun Spa Resort: Really enjoyed this

We really enjoyed this. Great food, great staff, a great time. I think they need to improve the booking system for their pickleball court, but that's a minor quibble. Overall, this was a terrific holiday.

Seadust Cancun Beach Resort: Pros and Cons from Wpg 2026

The hotel had an amazing beach. The main area and rooms are clean. The indoor bars make wonderful cocktails at dinnertime. Love the fact you do not have to make reservations for dinner. The food was good, but the desserts were AMAZING, the best I have ever had at any resort by far. Buffet was very good, lots of options. Love the [... read more] key built into the bracelet. Rooms were cleaned daily. Cons - false advertising. Resort quoted mini-golf, zip line for kids and UNLIMITED non motorized water sports. We asked several times and different people but none of this was offered and from the looks of it, have not been offered for a while. Very disappointing. The elevators needed to be cleaned more often, not sure they ever wipe the doors and keypad. The pool ran out of towels half-way through the day several times during the stay. Beds were not comfy and the healthy snack bar was always out of coffee. 3.5 out of 5 stars for me.

Planet Hollywood Adult Scene Cancun by Royalton: Wonderful Vacation !!

Clean, wide spread out resort. We stayed in a Star Class room which I loved as we had access to the Star Class beach (gorgeous and loved the beach gentleman that brought us drinks all the time lol), bars and restaurants. As 2 adults travelling I would recommend as there are not as many kids around on the beach. Restaurants were fabulous (Indian was our favorite), rooms were clean and have been maintained considering the turn over. Riu Dunamar: Family had a blast! But it had its issues

Clean, friendly staff, buffet could use a step up. Espresso machines at the buffet broke down often. It took a long time for staff to replenish hot items that were in demand so it had long line ups. The great thing is the restaurants! No reservations needed way in advance. The beach is clean and great! They have fun pools and games. The kids club was fun! Hilton Cancun All Inclusive Resort: Not my favourite

I have been to many 5 star resorts in Cancun and Mayan riviera. This is one of the few I wouldn’t return to. The hotel architects/owners have obviously optimized managing guests , food, entertainment and repairs for maximum efficiency (for the hotel). So for guests it lacks interest//charm/variety. The hotel gives an impression of cleanliness and modernity but this is in large measure simply because it is only four years old. The same large dead moth remained on my floor for the duration. Th [... read more]e pool is difficult to access and the jacuzzis dirty grey every day. The “swim-out” pools are just plain weird. Shallow and hard to access. Hotel management attempts to charge preposterous prices for the few special activities like “tequila tasting” that would be free elsewhere. Honestlly, it’s like hotel management is under pressure to make/save $ and they don’t know how/can’t. On the plus side, the rooms and showers are spacious, tvs large and the hvac system is excellent. Staff aims to be professional. Beach is not the worst.

Grand Oasis Palm: Hotel review

Hotel is dated. No chairs at pools. Food was not good. The slides in the kids section were only open for 10 mins everyday. Beach was dirty every morning. Nothing for kids to do at night. I would not stay here again.

Occidental Costa Cancun: Love this resort!

This was my 5th time at the Occidental Costa and still love it. Fantastic staff, especially Juani, Antonio and Sandra. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. Food was excellent, beds comfy, the resort layout is so great...not too big and not too small. So convenient to have the Ferry next door. The beach has changed a bit and a little more rocky but I think that probably goes for everywhere. Water is still calm which I love. The pool and beach entertainment could offer a little more  [... read more]variety and missed having the afternoon entertainment at the beach. i.e. the comical stuff where guests are involved. Overall a great place and I will be back again.

Flamingo Cancun Resort: Our Flamingo holiday

The Flamingo Cancun sits in an amazing area. Beachfront, this resort has so much potential. The beach and ocean are beautiful. The resort itself is unbelievably clean, the staff work so hard there to keep it beautiful. The problem with this resort is the food in the buffet., it's hit and miss. There is some dishes that are very good, but for the most part it really needs improvement

Flamingo Cancun Resort: Alright resort

A nice enough place but there were too few seats at the bars and the hours of operation weren’t great, closing at 2300 hrs and only opening between 1000 hrs and 1600 hrs. The food in the buffet catered to the Caribbean pallet and wasn’t a preferred menu for Canadian tastes. The staff were very friendly and polite. The room was clean and comfortable but the bar fridge was poorly stocked.

Beautiful new build, adults only resort. Excellent food selection, attentive staff, beautiful pool and beach area, highly recommend! It is new, so there are a few finishing touches that need to be completed, so keep that in mind. Lots of amenities on site…gym, spa, stores, a d good variety of activities all day to keep you active.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Beautiful Resort!

This resort was beautiful. Everything was so clean. The food was great. The room was very spacious and well laid out. Staff was friendly. Pools were beautiful. The beach was exceptional! I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone.

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Royalton CHIC Cancun

The hotel's employee are very friendly and warm hearted. The facilities in hotel are also good. The foods are generally good, salad, fruit and seafood in buffet restaurant are very fresh, but lack of varieties.

Riu Latino: Amazing Resort!

Everything about this resort was great! Service was excellent, we were always greeted with a smile from everyone on staff & our room was cleaned everyday in a timely manner. Food was also very good and fresh in all restaurants including the pool café. Bartenders were quick and efficient! Our only issue (minor) was the lighting of the restaurants and lobby bar at night...way too bright! Highly recommend staying here and we would definitely return!

This new resort has had its growing pains but all considering my 10 day holiday was great. I would skip the privilege category, not worth the money. The food was excellent at the buffet. Restaurants needed more personal.

stay was january 30-february 6,2026 ocean front view- old but decent and clean , ZERO entertainment, nothing to do after 9:30pm- food is okay with black bracelet nothing great even the à la cartes, if u are blue bracelet good luck cuz your food options are horrible!, no servers for drinks,always line ups at bars, a lot of walking for nothing, pools are boring not enough chairs for the amount of guests… don’t bother for the money there are better options
