Very enjoyable resort!

We recently stayed at the Iberostar Mojito. It was a pleasant experience. The service was excellent and staff very friendly. The food was fresh and always lots to choose from. The fresh omelette in the morning was welcome. The beach was great and available choice of snacks and drinks. Evening entertainment was enjoyable. Accommodations were quite satisfactory. Great for families or couples. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I already miss being there.

Awesome resort!

We decided to go to on a last minute trip, so we didn't get to look at many reviews. We were not disappointed. This was a great resort. The drinks were great, the food was good and the staff was wonderful! It's the nicest beach we have seen. The rooms were dated but clean and the beds were comfortable. We will definitely go back.

Amazing resort ! Friendly people!

We had a great time! Beautiful beach, pools! Beautiful people! My girls 14 and 10 loved the entertainment at the hotel. Service is amazing ! They really make you feel like at home, excellent for families :)

Good resort!

We actually stayed at Sol Cayo Coco! Are room was clean but basic, no bugs! The food was actually good lots of variety! The grounds was well kept with lovely landscaping. Best of all there was two beaches that we could go too. Need improvement in nightly entertainment.

Great resort!

Great resort! Clean, friendly, and well balanced. Good was really good. Most was cooked in front of you which is awesome! Had lots to do but also had nice places to relax quietly. Very safe. Over all an amazing resort. Definitely recommend it. We are planning a trip with friends again soon!!

Amazing Resort

1-the ride from the airport 10 minutes.2-when you arrive at the reasort they treat you like royalty.3-the reasort and the grounds realy clean.4-the rooms are clean every day they change the towels every 2nd day the beach towels you can change them every day.5-the food always someting that you like and it taste good.6-the service and the staff will go out of their way to give you good service with a smile.7-the beach is clean and very beautiful and lots of beach chairs.I would recomend this reaso [... read more]rt 100 percent this was are second trip to Ibrostar Mojito with no regrets.

Slight disappointment

The Iberostar name has gone downhill it used to be one of the premiere resort names in the Caribbean. This resort is a low cost recent buy for them and no immediate need for renovations, the food choices are limited but you can eat well. The trip to the beach is quite a hike but since most of the beach has shrunk when the tide is in you have to be careful you may get washed away with the waves.

Nice small, uncrowded resort in a quiet area

The beach was lovely, especially in the afternoon during low tide. The hotel room was clean and so were all the other public areas. The swimming pools were also kept clean. However, the ladies bathroom near the main snack bar area never seemed to have enough toilet paper so I would recommend that you bring your own. The grounds need some refurbishment, especially some of the footpaths which had uneven tile work.

Have reasonable expectations!

Here is the good and bad about Iberostar Mojito. First the good. The beach is beautiful. Staff are helpful getting chairs and bar with a small snack bar are very convenient. The pools are nice - but not heated, so we're a little cold in Feb. The adult pool was very quiet with its own bar that was never busy. The large pool was a lot of fun with a swim up bar and games and activities. The rooms were adequate, but basic. The maids work hard to keep things clean. I found the beds comfortable. No bu [... read more]gs and we were in a ground floor room. The food is fine. The bread is delicious and fresh everyday. Fruit and vegetables are always available. The buffet has a pasta bar and a fresh grill. For breakfast there are fresh omelettes, smoothies and pancakes or French toast. Everyone will find enough to eat and no one in our group had even a tummy cramp, or any other food related problem. Okay - now the not so good. Beach is a walk from the main resort area through a lagoon. I liked the walk because it is great for bird watching, but the boardwalk is bumpy with tons of trip hazards. Rooms are hit and miss. We had to change rooms since our first one was near the generator and was very noisy. Also our safe and some furniture was broken. Things are old and frayed, but still clean. Pool Snack bar is a disapointment. Service is very slow and sporadic. Front Desk staff and maintenance staff are a little difficult to work with. We waited on 2 occasions for over a half hour for a maintenance person to come to our room to fix our safe. In the end no one ever showed up and we changed rooms. But it is frustrating when you are told to wait in your room because someone is on the way and then no one shows up! I also could not get resolution from the front desk staff on a service concern in the pool snack bar. I asked to speak to a manager and was then given the run around to a lot of non managers until I waited by the office entrance and approached a manager on my own. This manager resolved my issue immediately, but I got zero co-operation from the front desk staff. Overall, it is a fine hotel and I think that management is really work hard to improve service levels and there seems to be a lot of maintenance work going on. For the price, I think this is a good holiday option.

A Great Resort

The staff are incredible. Very friendly and helpful. The food is good. Better than the food at Playa Costa Verde and Blau Costa Verde. This strip of beach is the best in Cayo Coco. Beautiful, white compacted sand and crystal clear water with no rock or seaweed.

Dot happy

Rooms were clean but minimal, pools were average, grounds out dated and unimpressive, staff hit or miss, service 4/10, customer service very poor 1/10 overall happy that we got a decent price for this resort but would not pay more than $800/pp

Good Resort

Short transfer from the airport. Reasonably quick check inn. Very friendly staff all around. Nice beach. Pretty good food at buffet and snack bar. A La carts, service was great , food was ok. Overall decent resort.

Nice place and nice service

very nice place near de airport, and hotel service is complet, delivery drink on the beach and pool! clean room, and toillet all the site. manny bar and resto, food it's Cuba is very nice. iberostar mojito is realy great palce. thank you offer this hotel in your choice.

Beautiful beach

The hotel itself is mediocre. It's a little run down and dated, and the entire section of bungalows near the ocean are closed (due to lack of bookings according to staff). It was the same situation at Tryp next door - the flamingos are gone and a big chunk of the resort is closed down. There are no balconies and the rooms are not near the ocean, so no ocean views. We were given two rooms in block 18, and despite requesting the quietest section two times at check in, and reassured by the woman at [... read more] reception that it was a very quiet area, it was extremely loud. Much too close to the pool and entertainment with their booming speakers. That was a big disappointment, and we should have insisted to switch rooms. The food was much better than expected and all 5 of us were very happy with the selections. It's nothing fancy, but there was seafood every day and lots of meats, breads, fruits and vegetables. We would have enjoyed the entertainment a lot more if it was more in Cuban style. The dancing was well done but we didn't go to Cuba to listen to North American music. The beach is gorgeous with powdery sand and clear water. They clean the seaweed most days and there are a number of shade shelters that we were always able to get. Both times that we were in Cayo Coco it was extremely windy, and this time they would not lend out any kayaks, paddle boats, catamarans etc. due to the extreme wind. The staff was friendly, the resort was rundown but clean, pools were nice, and the ocean was spectacular. If you are going on holiday mostly for the resort itself, it's a 3 star hotel, and that's what you should expect to get. If you are going for the beach and ocean, Cayo Coco is 5 star all around. I don't think we would go back to Mojito, and after seeing Tryp would not go back there either (we stayed there four years ago and it has definitely gone downhill). Despite its good points we will look for something a little nicer next time.

Excellent resort

Very good service and friendly . Garden and housekeeping was clean. Just one thing border me was a lot of mosquitoes beat !! Definitely I will be back again. At the last time I been there . I was not see any show music. Hopefully next time have show for enjoy .

Amazing vacation

My husband and I just returned from the Mojito and had an amazing time. This was our second time at this resort and I can't wait to go back. The staff are awesome and go out of their way to make your vacation great. I could not believe how many people remembered us from our trip in April. The food was great although not as many choices as there was in April but the resort was much quieter in November. The entertainment team did a great job during the day getting people involved in activities and [... read more] put on great shows in the evening. The rooms are dated but they keep them spotless. No issues with water pressure or air conditioning. Overall we had a great time and met a lot of amazing people. The beach and ocean are BEAUTIFUL you can walk for ages. And the resort is only 10 minutes from the airport. We were in the pool within an hour of landing. It doesn't get any better than that.

Comfortable Family Resort

This was my 4th time returning to the Iberostar Mojito....and the reason I continue to return is the amazing staff. Going back to this resort is like returning home - you are greeted as an old friend - often by name - and made to feel welcome. The actual facility could use some upgrades and sprucing up, however I have no need to be 'in the lap of luxury'. Rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. Mojito is a good family resort with staff who cannot do enough for you - lots of activities for adults and kids - beautiful beachfront and multiple pools.

Another wonderful vacation

This is the third time I have been to this resort in the last year, it is a wonderful place to go if you want a laid back, comfortable place with fabulous staff. We stayed in the 23 block this time and these superior rooms were great it was quiet and I really enjoyed the main level so I could enjoy sitting on the patio. The bartenders were great as were the staff in the buffet. A special thanks to the front desk staff, Ana is always so very helpful!

Great value, a solid 3 1/2 star in Cuba

I am a regular traveller to carribean, 4 times to various areas of Cuba. For my traveling companion, this was her first trip away from North America. Upon arriving at a very spacious front lobby, we were served a refreshing cold drink. Check-in was quick and easy and a bell boy took our luggage to our room right away. The room was average sized with 2 double beds, mini bar & tv. It was impecably clean with good quality linen on the beds. Bathroom had tub & shower with only occasional problem wit [... read more]h enough hot water. Maid service was great and we had no issues with the charming young lady that cleaned our room. Pool area was large (also adults ony pool) with lots of shady area and loungers, however we prefer the beach. It is a longer walk than typical as you pass over a lagoon that has cottages on stilts around the perimiter, then continue on boardwalk to the actual beach. The beach has drinks and snacks available, best pina colada's on the resort. Not certain if this relates to time of year, hurricane season, but at high tide the beach disapears under the water. We had a couple of days the beach was closed due to the waves coming ashore from a nearby hurricane so we hung out at the pool. The food was average by Cuban standards, always something to eat including the amazing breads, yummy! There was less choice than on previous vacations but aattribute this to hurricane season and large portion of hotel was vacant. The main lobby bar should be a nice place to spend your evening however the mosquitoes were attrocious, heard from other travellers at different resorts that were al having same problem during rainy season, so take insect repellant, you will need it. There was musicians/singers in the lobby bar and with one amazing trio of Cuban gentlemen with guitars that I wish were there every night. Their music was well played and not at al intrusive if you wanted to talk, some of the others made up for talent with volume and we therefore left the lobby bar. All things considered was a great relaxing get away which was the reason for our trip.

Very relaxing with attentive staff :)

Large resort with lovely, long beach when the tide is out. Plenty of food that was fine. Bartenders, servers, grounds staff, front desk staff and housekeeping were all wonderful. Our 2nd time here! The adult pool is very quiet as well as a good size. We are a couple who were looking for a quiet, sunny getaway before we came home to move into a new house and renovate and our goal was met!
