A little disappointed

This is a hotel complex that has very nice rooms,well kept grounds,nice and well kept pools,but could improve there Buffet .Some of the items provided such as seafood, left some people sick,my wife being one.The service was over supplied and not necessary needed. For example 4 supervisors and a great number of waiters/waitress.A waste of money.The A la Carte restaurants were quite good,however to get tickets was quite time consuming The five restaurants,all but one was on the property of Grand [... read more] Bahia Principie.We were at the beach only once,but it appeared dangerous in some places due to a sudden drop-off. All in all it was OK,but if we went again we would fly to La Romana instead of Punta Cana

Amazing Resort

The Resort was beautiful, rooms very clean the beach was beautiful, the food was amazing I loved everything about the Resort. the staff was very helpful on the places to eat at certain restaurants and the entertainment was fantastic.

Incredible resort, want to go back NOW!

This resort is a 10 out of 10 for everything. Food, room, housekeeping, room service, front desk, pool, beach, the list goes on. The staff have customer service down to an art. Managers were very visible and any concerns were addressed immediately.

Definitely a Hidden Gem!

Our stay at the Luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville was fabulous! It is a beautiful resort, with lots of palm trees and shade at the beach. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The grounds were meticulous. There was plenty of choice in cuisine, both in the buffet and the a la carte restaurants. The food was excellent. Amazing resort and fantastic vacation!

From the airport, the bus takes you to the front of the Bahia Principe La Romana resort and then you are taken to the Bouganville side (adults only section) by golf cart. Check-in is done at the Bouganville reception and it was easy and quick. We were greeted by friendly staff with a welcome drink and our luggage was taken up to our room almost immediately. We were the lucky ones to get the best room in the resort - room 51201. We were the 3rd floor corner room facing the pool and ocean - we [... read more] had amazing sunsets every night! Our balcony was so large that we had 2 loungers and a table and 2 chairs with room to spare. Our butler Isaury greeted us shortly after and made sure we had everything we needed and answered any questions we had. During the week, he made sure we had a bucket of beer on ice delivered to our room every day at 4pm and he even had a bubble bath in the jacuzzi tub lined with red rose petals waiting for us after our pool time. Isaury went the extra mile to make sure our vacation was great. The Animation Team (Cappuccino, Caramel, Nicky, Mr. Wow, King Kong) ran events around the pools and lobby and got those who wanted to participate in activities, moving and having fun. We ate at 4 a la carte restaurants - Italian, Asian, Gourmet and Mediterranean - all were very good but our favourite was the Gourmet Don Pablo - we ordered surf and turf. The buffet had a different theme every day for dinner, so there was always a variety. Breakfast was pretty much the same every day, but there was a great variety so you could change it up. The restaurant by the beach is an a la carte from 10:30am - noon (order from a menu) and then at noon it switches to a buffet until 4pm - no complaints here either. Even though this resort is not new, it is very well maintained - gardens and grounds are beautiful and staff are constantly and discretely gardening, cleaning, painting, etc. Our room was very clean and comfortable - the only downfall is lack of electrical outlets for charging phones, tablets, etc. The beach is beautiful but the water is not clear. We were told that it is due to the river up the cost and that it stirs up the bottom causing it to look foggy. That being said, we have been to Punta Cana and Costa Rica and we did not have clear waters there due to waves stirring up the bottom, so not really much different. This was our 8th all inclusive vacation and it was our best! We heard that review ratings were down so we are not sure if we went at a time when staff were trying extra hard to increase their ratings or if it is like this all the time - we have no complaints. If we could change anything about this vacation, it would be that a direct bus transfer to/from the airport would be preferred - we stopped at 4 other resorts each way so our total trip time each way was 1.5 hrs. Beautiful hotel and immaculate gardens!

Our room was gorgeous with a huge wrap around balcony, but we were disappointed that we had to use bottled water for drinking and brushing teeth etc. In the morning you had to wait 10 mins for the water to run warm then another 40 mins to fill the Jacuzzi to the jet level. In our room fridge, along with 2 beer, water and soft drinks, there were only 3 miniature bottles of alcohol - not enough for 2 people, and that was your daily quota. Great time at the resort!

The grounds were beautifully kept. The staff were always smiling and able to assist us with whatever we needed. Our rooms were immaculate and well-cleaned. It was a wonderful relaxing stay. The espresso/cappuccino machine in the main lobby was self serve 24/7! Best idea ever! A special shout-out to Christina the girl at the towel booth. She was a wonderful asset to the resort. Smiling and kind.

A Dream

Upon arrival it looked amazing although we had a problem from the start. I did inform you about my daughter's health issues our room was on the 3rd floor walkup, we had to wait in the lobby for over an hour to get a ground floor room. My daughter had to travel in a wheel chair and was on oxygen, it was an exhausting day. We were to see a Transat representative the next day but due to the first day we could not make it my daughter was tooo sick. When we went to see the rep. he was rude and very nasty told us to figure out ourselves any information about leaving etc. We tried to explain what happened he said he did not care. Only because of Lisa our butler did I have second thoughts.

Pretty good

Check-in was fast and well organized. Staff was informative and helpful, escorting us to our room and bringing luggage. Rooms are large and the room service staff do a good job with cleaning and turn-down. Bathrooms are nice, but lack the finish and trim of a 5 star resort. Showers are good size and water pressure is good. Food is average resort fare, with good variety. Service seemed hit-and-miss. There are a few really good servers in the main dining room. A la carte restaurants are not 5 s [... read more]tar except for Don Pablo. Gym is ok. No treadmills which seemed strange. Spa staff is great, and the relaxation massage was really nice. Pools are exceptionally clean and well maintained. Choice of quiet or party pool is nice. Very sparse drink service at the pools. You will have to get up and go get your drink. Keep in mind the resort is a 1.5hr bus ride from PUJ airport.

Great vacation

Great vacation, we had a good time. The food was good and so was the service. It was relaxing and enjoyable. Only down point, it was our honeymoon and although we requested a little something special we didn't get anything.

Good value

Nice resort good value for your money. A la cart dinners excellent, buffet good with lots of variety. Room clean. We had a lot of power outages which was a nuisance. Staff pleasant..not all staff could speak English.

Beautiful Resort

The resort and the grounds are beautifully kept. The staff is friendly and make you feel special. Lots of choices to eat. Loved the adults side. The Italian restaurant was my favorite place to eat. The Michael Jackson show a must see. Fantastic show. I will stay in a Bahia resort again.

Amazing resort

This resort was a five star resort all the way. The rooms were spotless, the floors were shining. The service was spectacular. The pools were very clean. The beach was very nice no kelp to deal with, sand was soft on the feet. The restaurants had excellent food choices. Our Buffets had plenty of food choices, no need for anyone to say they are still hungry after leaving there. AMAZING PLACE.

This resort was beautifully kept from the rooms to the beach area! We enjoyed a relaxing week with great food and friendly service! Come and see for yourself! It was small enough to have a warm and inviting feel and delivered excellent service!

A must!

This resort was absolutely beautiful, the people are extremely genuine, funny and just overall amazing. The rooms were huge and they come with perks such as choosing a scent for your room, extra pillows for different parts of the body. 24hr room service, many delicious A la Carte restaurants. The buffet was always delicious and they had a lot of variety to choose from. Wonderful resort

We had a wonderful time at this resort. The grounds were very clean beautifully kept. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was awesome. Our room very lovely & spacious. We were very satisfied with our vacation. The only thing we found was the toilet paper in our room was sented, which caused issues if you have sensitive skin. Our butler was able to assist and found another product for us to use. Very pleased.

Beautiful resort, rooms,grounds, amazing staff , food was good drinks also we noticed the grounds were always kept clean. pleasant staff. Very helpful, beach good but not clear. The only thing to get a glass of wine during dinner at the buffet restaurant was abit slow. But the waiters were very nice. I suggest to leave a bottle of wine at the table so I don’t have to wait for a glass of wine. Animation team great but you need more entertainment around the pool, and at night. Wonderful Resort

Amazing staff in all areas of the resort! Food was very good in a la carte restorants ! Fresh fruit and crispy bacon and amazing eggs for breakfast every day! Extremely clean resort! Front desk service was first class all the way! Waiters in all the restorants were very friendly ! Pool areas were very clean as were all the lounge chairs! Beach was amazing with crews constantly cleaning and raking the sand! Room was very clean every day ! Only thing I can say is this is a wonderful resort! Five [... read more] star all the way!

Very nice place!

Beautiful resort. Super nice beach with many long chairs and parasols. Excellent food and service. Extremely good service. Only bad point: horrible gym. Was tiny, with VERY outdated equipment. Very disappointing.
