Grand Palladium Vallarta: Beautiful resort, But...
The resort is absolutely beautiful. Very tropical looking. Kept very clean. However, although the staff works very hard, there is very little friendliness. Nobody was rude, just not friendly. There were a few exceptions, but in general we made no new friends on this trip. Also, the food tastes pretty good, but extremely repetitive, and not hot. Even though it's all in hot plate dishes, it was room temp most of the time. It's also an open air buffet, and most of the dishes were not covered, so fl[... read more]ies all over the food. Animation team worked very hard, but not enough of them. Maybe 5 of them for 2 pools and the beach. We hung out at the activity pool and didn't see them until 3 or 4 pm. Very boring. As beautiful as the resort was, and has so much potential, we would not book here again.

TRS Turquesa: Big resort
Actual adult section not overly big ,but most of the decent restaurants were over at paladium area , shuttle will take u . Resort is beautiful and well kept , loads of pools n bars , def drinks were top shelf but the buffet was limited although u could order off menu , smart phone to scan it . Language was an issue as too many front line services didn’t understand English well . Grand Palladium Palace: Amazing, beautiful resort!
The grounds are beautiful. Our room was spacious and clean. The food was very good especially room service! Wifi everywhere is a huge bonus. We had our grandson with us so this was super helpful. We will be sure to come back next year as we have our eye on a new section of the hotel for our next visit!

TRS Yucatan: Great resort if you don't need a beach
The beach has largely washed away and the bathrooms were designed for style rather than function (shower and toilet doors leave gaps when closed, pedestal sink is ridiculously deep and does not hold water). The pools are sometimes loud with music and group exercise. That's the end of the negatives.
The service is excellent everywhere. The lobby bar makes excellent drinks and coffee. The TRS pool bars are better than you'd expect. The TRS restaurants were all great. It is very easy to get a ri[... read more]de anywhere on the resort if you don't fancy walking. The non-TRS pools were not busy at all.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Welcoming Resort
The hotel was overall a nice stay. The service made me feel comfortable and welcoming. The hotel food was not the best. I know they water down the food for Caucasians. The liquor is really cheap so I would recommend buying a bottle for your stay perhaps, but it is bar-able Either than that 8/10.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Family trip, group of 6
Beautiful views, mostly friendly staff with some outstanding members. Food was very good at buffets and a la cartes. Beaches were smaller but nice. Pool is huge and kept clean but too many areas in close proximity playing different loud music. Not enough loungers and the usual issue of towels draped to save seats and no people ever actually using the seats. No smoking policy completely ignored by many guests and not enforced by staff. Spending time at the pool resulted in breathing in second hand[... read more] cigarette smoke no matter where you sat...disgusting! Our room had a leak from the AC on the third night and maintenance was sent to repair it. On the 5th night we had water pouring from the ceiling at 4am. We had to threaten to sleep in the lobby before they agreed to move us. In our original room we were assigned a king and pullout for 2 adults and a child. The pullout was stuck and it took considerable force to open. No bedding or pillows at all for the pullout and no coverlet for the bed. It took almost 2 days and multiple requests to get bedding. My husband slept on the pullout with no pillow, no sheets and the only bath towel we were given, as a blanket. Our second room had a fully made pullout including a memory foam mattress pad. Some rooms get, some rooms don't, very inconsistent. The best entertainment during the week was the Silver Birds steel drum band. We have seen them twice before and still thoroughly enjoy their show. Amazing performers! Overall we had a great week because we were with family but the issues with the room did take away from the enjoyment and relaxation of the week. It shouldn't be expected that you pay that much for a vacation and end up sleepless and stressed out.

TRS Yucatan: Great resort
The area is beautiful - although at least a 60 minute drive from Cancun. The resort itself is also beautiful - the employees are tremendous, couldn't be more courteous and helpful. The resort is very large & offers many options - you really should take advantage of the transportation & survey all of the 4 resorts. Really enjoyed the choice of dining options - we had a member with food allergies & this was accomodated at all food venues. Also enjoyed the atmosphere and of course, the sun.

TRS Turquesa: Outstanding Resort
TRS Turquesa is a well established resort that is perfect for a vacation if you want excitement or a quiet relaxing time. This was not our first time and we noticed that they have done a lot of upgrading to the resort and also to the rooms and beach areas. We like a swim up which is what we enjoy the most. The Butler Service is very accommodating to the needs of their guests. Hats off to Claudio and other butlers. Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Disappointed
Check in was very smooth, but after that things went down hill.We arrived just after 4pm went to our room, had no blanket on bed,It took 3 phone calls to the lobby for them to finally bring one to our room(11pm)!
The attitude from the front desk woman was very nonchalant, she proceeded to tell me she doesn't use a blanket on her bed.
The buffets were good, could of been more fruit. The open terrace on the second level served wine in champagne glasses, they didn't have lime or mint for cocktails.
Th[... read more]e adult pool was very nice, the main pool was also nice.
The room was very dated, there was paint splatters on all the doors, ring marks on the counters that left stains, the tub was full of cracks.
The grounds were nicely kept. Most staff very friendly some not!
The entertainment was a joke!
The beach was horrible,it was not inviting at all.
So all in all I definitely will not be returning and will not recommend this resort.
This was certainly not a 5 star resort.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Great ressort
The ressort is very clean but it could use some renovations in the rooms as well as the outside cobblestones.
The staff starting from the reception, restaurants, entertainment and room service was extremely friendly and pleasant. The food was very good with a variety of cuisines to choose from the buffet to the a la carte restaurans. The beaches could be a little cleaner with all the leaves falling from the trees.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Everything I Needed!
This is the 2nd Grand Palladium I have been to (Mayan was the other-MUCH bigger but the seaweed beach was icky!).
Once you have a day to get situated with the grounds, it is quite easy to navigate the huge property because everything is spaced thoughtfully with many paths and walkways (mobility issues could be a problem, but you should know this already when booking) to get where you need to go.
The property is kept immaculately clean! I appreciated looking around and not seeing any trace o[... read more]f the nonsense we've been dealing with for the past few years. It was perfectly 'normal' and for someone that was 'not allowed' to travel out of her country (or within for that matter) for 3years, I welcomed not seeing sanitizer/masks/signs/arrows at every turn. We were even able to serve ourselves at the buffet-it was GREAT!
Which brings me to the food! Amaaaaaazzzzzing!
There are many restaurants to choose from, and unlike other resorts, you could book one every night if you'd like (through the concierge or the app), but honestly, you would not be missing out if you just did the buffet-which is open late as well! (men need to wear shirts that cover their armpits-and they do strictly adhere to that policy which is appreciated! Other than that, you don't need collared shirts or dress shoes which is nice to not have to pack!).
Mexican- La Adelita- was my favorite. It also had breathtaking views especially if you are able to book around sunset!
Italian-Portofino- I heard many people were disappointed, but I had the Sea Bass and it was delicious!
Bamboo- Asian- everyone I talked to said this was their favorite. (I don't really care for sushi but enjoyed the Asian buffet day!)
International- Las Terrazas- one of the best (tasters) of french onion soup I've had!
The Nest- you need to be in family selection to book this restaurant (or talk to Isis in conceirge)
The pools:
Adult infinity: is heated and has a look over ledge where I got to see whales jump every single day! It is not too busy, has a bar and you can usually get a lounger if you go down by 9am. (I was visiting at spring break)
The main pool: this is where the swim up bar is. Didn't seem overly busy, the music is a bit too loud, the aquasize at 12pm was fun every day! (this is also where the app says most the main activities are, yet I never was able to find them, which was disappointing. I tried for yoga, stretching, healthy drink classes, eco tour- and I never found anyone in 10 days that knew what I was talking about even though the app listed it as an activity daily. That was unfortunate.)
Kid pool: off the main pool with slides and sprinklers, as well the family selection has its own pool for kids too!
The ocean :)
Rolling waves, warm salty water, all the free water activities you could think of (surf, boogie board, paddle board, kayak, catamaran etc). There's also an area rocked off to avoid the waves and be able to wade with the little fishes that gets high tide and low tide and is great for the kids or people with mobility issues that don't want to play in the waves!
The spa:
Hydrotherapy is a must before getting a massage! It is a small circuit with different pressured waterfalls, hot sauna, hot tub and freezing cold plunge to get your muscles ready to relax! Highly recommend!
(there are huts on the beach for massage as well, but I would pay a little extra for this experience!)
All the staff is friendly and will do what they can to accommodate. The night shows are pretty decent (8pm for kids and 9pm for the main show). All evening noise shuts down between 11pm-12 which is really nice for those that appreciate their sleep and not hearing pounding music into the middle of the night!
It was nice to have access bracelets to the room without having to carry around key cards!
The only cons:
Because this resort is so far from PV, if you are booking excursions, be aware you will be paying EXTRA for a cab to get there! I have never been to an all incl where you had to pay travel on top of your already costly excursions. It is at minimum 500pesos (for CAD that cost me $40 ONE WAY) to get to the tours.( There are buses a short walk from the resort, but I was recommended to not take them solo going to the places I needed to be on a time restriction because they said it can be tricky with transfers if you don't know. That being said, if you know the area better and have the time, the bus is definitely the cheaper way to go!)
I traveled with WestJet. The hotel rep Epi was not as helpful as the other reps. He was only there for an hour and a half in the mornings. He did not explain the cost of cabs on top of the excursion until after I already booked the tours! He never did answer my emails with inquiries (since he was hardly ever at the desk). The only thing he did at the 'welcome meeting' was give me my ticket for transfer back to airport- no tour of the grounds or even explain what excursions they offered-I had to figure that all out for myself. (not GP problem, just making note)
*Not impresssed with Concierge at the stairs: When it was time for me to leave, I had to checkout early so had them store my bags. I was over an hour early to wait for the bus. I told the guys I was waiting for WestJet. I sat right in front of them on the couch for my transfer that was at 2:!5pm.
At 2:25pm I got up and asked if the bus usually arrives lates.
They informed me the bus was already there!
What?! I was sitting right there the whole time! Why wouldn't they tell me?
They said I had to take a cab. I asked to speak to their manager. They said no, it wasn't their fault. They asked the bus how many it was picking up and he said 7, not 8, so I wasn't on the list. ..I am pretty sure he made that up! I again kindly asked for a manager because I felt they should pay my fare and again I was denied. They said I could pay for it and deal with WestJet at the airport for reimbursement. I got them to call a cab and asked for a receipt. They said they don't do receipts. (so of course, WestJet didn't care for my story).
So I had to pay 600pesos (nearly $50CAD) to go to the airport that I already paid for with my travel package.
I was very disappointed in the way my trip ended.
I have never missed a shuttle in my life and I have never not been told that my shuttle was there by the guys at the front. (there were at least 5 of them that watched me sit there and wait!). Do NOT rely on these guys to help you out. (they ironically are the same ones that told me not to take the bus which I would normally attempt to save money - so I am not sure but maybe they make commission from the cab drivers?) All the rest of the staff was amazing!
All in all- this was a much needed rest type get away for myself.
Thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend for family or for solo trips, it's perfect as long as you are ok with walking/hiking/peace and good food :)
In fact...I liked it soooo much, I am booking to go back next month and take a friend!
Thanks Grand Palladium!

TRS Turquesa: TRS Amazing Resort
First off I want to say 10/10 for relaxation, luxury, and amazing staff. The grounds and pools were well kept and clean, even though it is an older resort, they keep it up. Everyone tried hard and were very friendly. I would go back to this resort time and time again. This is by far the nicest resort I've ever been to. We upgraded to a swim up room when we got to the resort and I highly recommend doing that. TRS Turquesa: All Around Good Resort
I go on tropical vacations for
1. Beach
2. Food/drinks
3. Nightlife
So I will review those things.
Food: the food is not michelin star quality but that's not what I expected anyway. I always found something I liked and if you didn't like your meal, they happily replace it with another. The octopus was exceptionally delicious. The Italian restaurant Portofino was yummy. I enjoyed the grill at the beach. It has the best burger you might ever taste, amazing grilled chicken (thighs not brea[... read more]sts yay) and the homemade nacho chips n cheese were soooo good.
Beach: I think Negril 7 mile beach is a 10/10 and I haven't found another one I like as much. The beach here is nice...beautiful color/warm water/white sand, but it gets deep very quickly, is windy and wavy with a bit of an undertow and not conducive to floating and relaxing in. There are no fish or ocean life to interact with. I therefore would give the beach here a 6.5/10.
Cocktails: The red wine here is superb, when compared to other all inclusives I've stayed at. It's Spanish, robust, somewhat heavy and tasty. The cocktails at the beach were very good, especially the Coco Loco which is basically a creamy coconut slurpee with rum and then cinnamon sprinkled on it.
Nightlife: This is where we struggled a bit. The first night we had an amazing fun time at Hemingway (the nightclub on the Palladium resort). A lively Latin singer , then a great DJ playing mainstream music from all eras. The 2nd night we had a blast at Helios beach party. But after that, we couldn't find anything super fun there. Hemingway was either overrun with teens with a DJ playing their type of music and/or the live entertainer was lacklustre. They had silent discos on 2 nights but come on, this is entertainment for 8 yr olds. Most nights we couldn't find anywhere to dance to non-Latin music anywhere on the Palladium property which was disappointing.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and the service was good/personable. We lucked out with perfect weather for the week. The resort is quite close to the airport so no time wasted traveling to and from.

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Huge Resort
Grounds were not well kept lots of debris in the natural areas along the paths. You have to take tram most places as resort is so large. Beach is extremely disappointing and has lots of rocks and twigs on beach Seaweed was so thick you couldn’t go in the water or walk the beach unfortunately. We know this is out of the resorts control and they tried very hard to keep up with it, they just couldn’t. So if you are a beach/ocean people like us you will be very disappointed. Rooms were spaci[... read more]ous. Food was good for the most part but they used a lot of salt. The Thai restaurant was fantastic and Japanese was very good as well. They are a must visit. Staff is always friendly and hardworking.
I wish they didn't have to push the Paladium Travel Club so much. That was the only drawback, but they do it every time so it wasn't a surprise. I found that most of the agents weren't so pushy this year, so that was nice.

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Amazing resort
Excellent food and house keeping services. We were only there for a few days but the stay was very relaxing. The resort store had everything we needed and even went out of their way to locate a phone charger from another resort when I needed a new one. The house keeping staff did an amazing job in the rooms and the meals were excellent
