El Dorado Seaside Suites: El dorado sea side Mexico
This was an absolutely amazing resort! Everything from staff, activities, food, & beach was fabulous. Concerige was a big plus. All the speciality restaurants were great with absolutely delicious food and great service. The hydrotherapy at the spa was an experience within itself.

El Dorado Royale: Fantastic Time!!
We had a great time. This is the second time we have visited this resort and I was not disappointed. We have never returned to a resort before, and I say We would come even come back a third time. We brought our freinds with us, on our recommendation, so we were a little worried. But that worry was unfounded, because they loved the resort! The food was great! If you are a foody, then I would definetly try this resort. The buffets changed daily and did not serve the "same old, same old" everyday.[... read more] That was a nice change from the last couple resorts that we had visited. I was actually looking forward to what was on display everyday. Loved all the restaurants :) The hotel grounds are very well kept. The room was clean. Most of the hotel staff were very friendly, (with the exception of a couple people who were not very engaging and did not smile).
The only downside were the glasses left at the entry to our room and the cleaning cart that we had to navigate around "every time" we came back to our room. The entrance was a little cluttered. There were glasses, napkins, bottles, room service trays etc etc. I think the resort staff should take note of this, because this was the only negative we had for the week and this stuff should have been attended to immediately :(
We had a great week and would definitely come back for a 3rd visit.

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Great for couples
Was a beautiful resort and you are never very far from getting drinks or food. The staff are friendly but this resort is more for couples who want to relax. If you are looking for a party this is not it.

El Dorado Maroma: The luster of this Karishma property has faded
We have loved all of our stays at a variety of Karima managed properties over the years. We come mainly for the food, weather and beach. By far Maroma beach is stunning, but the El Dorado here is a shadow of its former self. The "gourmet all inclusive experience" was a bust. Perhaps for economic reasons since this is a small resort on any given night during the pre Christmas week we were there many restaurants were closed for dinner. Only on a few nights were four open, on some only two and[... read more] on one only one. The quality of the food has suffered as well. For breakfast only one a la carte with a limited selection and the other is a buffet, which if you don't get there within the first hour of opening everything becomes dry and mostly tasteless, certainly not a gourmet experience. For lunch these two same restaurants are the only two available along with a bar which serves a few items. For these reasons we would not return here and will think seriously about any other of their resorts. The one thing which has always bothered us about the "gourmet all inclusive experience" are the cheap Chilean wines on offer, on the red side, one Malbec, and a cab, both rather horrid. If you want anything better prepare to mortgage your house, same goes for the spa which is lovely put the service and expertise is nothing to write home about.

El Dorado Seaside Suites: A side for almost everyone!
The Eldorado Seaside Suites hotel area is made up of 3 resorts, El Dorado Seaside Suites (a 2 building complex with an infinity pool on each of the 6 floors), Hidden beach (A nudist area, in the middle for some reason) and Sensimar, a quieter complex covering a larger amount of area but with multiple 2 story buildings.
The Seaside Suites area offers great views, and a more modern room layout, the rooms had plenty of space, comfortable beds and a great view of the ocean. However with the main[... read more] pool complex being directly below, and it being more of the party side, the sound travelled up so for those who would like their stay to be more on the quiet side I would suggest looking at booking on the Sensimar (non swim up) side.
The Seaside Suites (SS) beach area was also a little lacking compared to the Sensimar side, while the SS side had some rocky out croppings, the sensimar side was smooth and close to the Maroma Beach area in terms of quality.
Food is near top quality rivaling, each meal at the ala carte restaurants rivaling a slightly higher priced restaurant in Canada. Adding Alcohol into the mix you can almost get your value from the meals you are eating alone.
All in all a top quality resort that I am happy to recommend to friends and family. Only slight issues we had was some electrical problems with the lights at our last day and the fact that you get asked to go to the spa every hour and a half or so (just don't make eye contact)

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Not impressed!
Would not go back! For a hotel with a lot of experience this misses the mark on so many levels. It had a choice of several restaurants but you had to book at least two days in advance and even then you could not get in. In walking past the restaurants they were never full and it looked like they did have adequate staff to wait on customers.
I did not travel 3500 miles to eat buffet food!
The hotel room service was sporadic, there was never a day when you had complete towel service. The[... read more] bins for beach towels was available for use on 7 to14 days, the washrooms ran out of toilet paper, the 4 hot tubs did not work!
The rooms were a little tired!
We have been to over 12 local resorts in the Mayan Riviera and thus would rate as a 2 out of 5

El Dorado Seaside Suites: No friendlier place on earth
Very very friendly staff. The kitchen was even so good to make us special food upon request two times.
Rooms are clean, fridge stocked.
Very nice grounds. Loved the outside eating areas, the live music outside, the outside bar with the swings.
Was missing a nice coffee bar. The one in use wasn’t the greatest.
Lounging at the beach is a treat. Loungers, beds, and even hangmats. The beach itself is a little disappointing with the shallow water to swim in, due to the sandbags needed to prote[... read more]ct the beach.
Overall an awesome experience.
Thank you Cosme and Ruben for being the best! (A few names I remember)

El Dorado Royale: Amazing Reaort!
Everything about this resort was incredible! Staff, food, pools and overall atmosphere!
Our personal concierge went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome! I have already recommended this resort to all the people I know!
Just spent a glorious week at the Azul Beach Resort Riviera Cancun. Hotel was beautiful and rooms were well appointed. We got upgraded to ocean view honey moon suite, the balcony was amazing. Food was good, but really not exceptional, just average Resort fair. The only real disappointment was the ocean was churned up brown and full of seaweed, not suitable for swimming at all. Thankfully the pools were large and clean.

El Dorado Maroma: Great Resort! Great service!
We spent the last week of October at the El Dorado Maroma. It was great! The resort is on the smaller side, which we prefer, with everything close by. The food was very good - buffet for breakfast and lunch and several a la carte restaurants for dinner. The beach was pristine clean with lots of beach beds and chairs available. Our room was very nice with a huge balcony where there was a beach bed which would have come in handy if you wanted to get out of the sun or if it had been rainy (which t[... read more]hankfully it wasn’t). Lastly, the service was excellent! All of the staff was extremely friendly - no matter who you met they said hello - and very helpful! The only thing I would point out is that it’s very quiet and out if the way - we really liked that but not everyone would. Overall, I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone!

El Dorado Maroma: The Best Resort
On Oct.18th my husband and I flew down to Mexico and spent 10 amazing nights at El Dorado Maroma 40 minutes outside of Cancun. We have stayed in many all inclusive resorts but this one was absolutely the best.
The staff were amazing.
Liz and Oscar our butlers, The chefs and restaurant staff; Artruo, Chepina, Inoibe, Hector, to name a few. Our beach butler was terrific and so were the grounds crew and cleaning staff. Thank you to all for our amazing stay.
Our room was on the ground and was [... read more]a swim up. Highly recommend it. The resort was smaller than most all inclusive which for us was perfect. The beach was as wonderful as advertised.
The food was upscale and outstanding.
We will absolutely return to this resort.

El Dorado Seaside Suites: El Dorado Seaside Suites
We sought out a resort which would not only allow us to relax but would also provide an elevated dining experience. El Dorado definitely delivered on all counts! The staff were wonderful and aimed to please. In a resort with 600 rooms there are 1200 staff members. The culinary staff put pride into their work and it showed on the plate. The overall experience provided us with the most relaxing vacation we have ever had.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Fantastic value for the money
The rooms were absolutely massive (we are a family of 5 and we stayed in a 2 bedroom penthouse suite, more room and storage areas than we knew what to do with!). Low season so not all restaurants were open every night but they rotated so we were able to try all of the ones we wanted (our favourites were the Italian, Sea Olive which was closed for renos but had their menu at pisca, and Koh Thai). For breakfast there was only 1 restaurant open which provided everything you would need for breakfas[... read more]t (except for hashbrowns). Lunch had a few different restaurants open as well, but for those who wanted other options, the room service menu was well above average!
Our butler Enoc was fantastic and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the trip without any issues. We are prestige members and were worried about the change in ownership, several emails sent to the hotel with different questions were all answered in a very timely fashion by Saul Valles Loya, who also met us upon check in. Thanks again Enoc and Saul for your fantastic customer service! We did not have to call once to get our room cleaned, turn down service or minibar refilled as the staff were on the ball. The massage by the beach (right above the towels area) was absolutely fantastic as well! The grounds were beautiful, a nice twist is how you can take a trip through the jungle as well.
Can't really think if any negatives aside from the nightly entertainment was lacking, they had a raggae band followed by a fire show which was great, but that was about it (aside from the entertainment at the members dinner which only caters to members, not the rest of the hotel).
Lots of pools, bars, loungers available and lots of friendly staff everywhere as well. We were worried about coming here at first as the price was very low, but we would 100% come back here!

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great hotel
We had a wonderful stay at The Fives, staff was super friendly, food was great and they even provided a crib for our 14 month old. We left already thinking of coming back, since we had such a great stay. The only downside is that is low season and some of the restaurants were closed for renovations.

El Dorado Royale: A return visit to paradise
The resort is very spread out 1.5 miles from one end to the other including the Casitas. But it’s such a lovely walk and there are regular shuttles you don’t notice it. The staff are all exceptionally friendly. Special shout out to Felipe who immediately recognized us and said welcome home with hugs. Victor, Gregoria and Israel our servers at Cocotals and Jojos. Eduardo the beach butler, Caesar the bartender at Jojos and to our amazing butler team of Kay, Berenissa, Manuel and Ivan. The room[... read more]s are being updated and we were in a royal swim up suite which was breathtaking. Food, just wow, this is a gourmet inclusive resort, top shelf alcohol on request. The El Dorado team do everything with a smile, Hola and Excellente. No request is too much. This was our third visit and we will definitely be back.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Perfect Trip for families!!!
I am beyond happy with this resort! It was our first time resort travelling with our baby (just under 2), so we needed something that would be clean, kid friendly, spacious. We were deciding between Mexico, Bahamas, Jamaica and Barbados. Our travel expert recommended this place. We didn’t have to take any baby equipment, they provided stroller, crib, baby food, bottle warmer, bottle sterilizer, even a cute teddy bear. It was easy to put her asleep and hang out in the huge living space area. [... read more] We were in 5111 villa the run of the house suite. Close to the beach and beside the kids play room.
The food was 5 stars all the way! They even had a vegan/veggie restaurant that he fantastic food. The Thai place was phenomenal. Italian place had a great selection and good quality meat. The buffet was nothing to write home about, it was good, but not too many selections, so what they had there was good quality. Breakfast was good.
The staff are super friendly and helpful in a genuine way. They don’t even look at your tip when you give it, just put it in their pocket and grateful.
The beach was beautiful. Clean. There was no funky smells like at the other resorts we stayed at in Mexico. The pools were clean, the infinity pool is gorgeous.
Kids play room is bright with natural light, clean, wide variety of things to play with ages under 1 to 13.
The only thing I must say that this is not a party resort. They have activities during the day. There’s a show at the stage around 8pm to 10pm, sometimes a show at the pool from 830-1030. The bars are open late with music but not late night party spot. The pools close at 8pm. So if that is what you are looking for I wouldn’t go here. But if you are looking for a clean, spacious, beautiful, great food, nice beach and pool, bright place to unwind (kids or no kids) this is the place in Mexico to go.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great Resort!
The resort is beautiful with its many pools, gardens and neighboring jungle. The maintenance staff quietly keep up the grounds each day. The rooms are clean and the expected towels and washcloths are provided (simple request but have been at resorts in the past few years that never provided a washcloth all week). The staff were amazing. Jony took care of us at the swim up bar (near Lizards) with Enrique and Marco. They were always willing to concoct a unique drink and remember it the next time w[... read more]e returned. The meals served at the restaurants were all very good! For dinner we had Mexican, Thai (Francisco was an amazing server), Sushi, Italian, and the Sea Olive. Two were closed for upgrades. Lunches at Lizards were very good and we loved the ceviche and the shrimp tacos at the beach restaurant. It could have been nicer for us had there been an adult pool in the main area or a section one designated as adult. It can quickly put a damper on an otherwise lovey day when parents don’t respect the shared space and let their kids lose screaming - enough said. Very little evening entertainment should probably be mentioned but the sun had us tired and we didn’t mind. All in all a great relaxing week!
