Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Lovely, would definitely return

Sanctuary was just what we were looking for: clean spacious room, friendly service, beautiful landscaping, a very well kept pool with just the right amount of activities for those interested. My room had a view of the ocean, no buildings in the way. Beach was clean and perfect. All staff were top notch!

It was my second time to visit this beautiful resort!!!! I spent a week, but I regret not going there for two weeks. Everything was great and specially I would like to mention my butler Ramon who was very helpful and made me feel very welcome. Everything I needed I asked him for and he was always there for me. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Amazing second time in Sanctuary

I just come back from the Grand Memories Sanctuary hotel. I decided to visit again this place and I didn’t regret. I travelled with my Mom and we had an amazing time together thanks to the amazing people who work in the hotel, plus room was so nice and clean, beach is beautiful with lots of trees and food was very tasty with a variety of choices. I will definitely go back again.

Grand Memories Varadero: Summer vacation for 7 pax

Check-In Experience: Arrived at 9:30pm, waited an hour with only one staff member at the desk to check in newly arrived guests. Many of us were tired and hungry from the trip but due to understaffed check-in, we missed the buffet. It was disappointing because this could have been prevented especially during off-peak hours. Room Conditions: Room wasn’t in great shape, but the AC worked well on 2 out of 3 rooms. Wi-Fi & Connectivity: Terrible Wi-Fi. It is unreliable and slow, especially in rooms and even in the main lobby. Wifi at Snack Bar was better. Dining & Service: Buffet closes at 10pm, snack bar mishandled your order with a 30-minute delay due to poor communication. Service can be inconsistent, with some staff being very attentive and others less so. Food is repetitive but sufficient, and delays in service are not uncommon. Overall Vibe: Underwhelming service despite low guest volume. The resort has a lively atmosphere and great beach access, but service quality varies, and maintenance issues persist. We had a terrible experience with customer service during our stay. Upon arrival, we were assigned a room on the third floor, despite having a mobility issue and requesting a ground-floor room. There is no elevator, and we were told to return the next morning to request a change. The process was chaotic. Staff gave us conflicting times for when the new room would be ready (3pm, 3:30pm, 4pm, 4:30pm). They blamed shift changes and linen delays, none of which should have been our concern. When we spoke directly to housekeeping, they confirmed that two rooms were ready. Upon returning to customer service, staff were angry and questioned how we knew about the rooms—they were saving them for new guests, even though four other room change requests were pending (we saw the sheet). Eventually, we were given a ground-floor room, but the entire process was unnecessarily stressful and poorly handled. Customer service was dismissive, disorganized, and unprofessional. Staff were more concerned with internal logistics than guest comfort. We are a family of 7 and we booked 3 superior rooms (Bldg #23). We do NOT recommend this resort based on our experience (July 21-25).

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Real gem

I have been to this resort 2x and both times it doesn't disappoint. The beaches are clear blue and very shallow. The rooms are clean, and spacious. The toilets have trouble with the flushing, but not a huge inconvience. The resort is quaint with friendly staff. The food isn't 5 star but it had a good variety. The ice cream was amazing, so we're the eggs and bread. But I didn't come to eat, I came to relax and reset and that's exactly what this resort allowed me to do. Grand Memories Holguin: Good Vacation

Hotel was great, beach is amazing, food is good, however no fresh produce (tomatos, peppers, lettuce...) And no water sport activities: no sail catamarans and no snorkeling masks. Plenty of pools + hotel activities.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Could be much better

My opinion .I booked this hotel at a great price. So some things you complain about and some you don't. I have traveled Cuba for the last 10 years so I know what to expect. Many people are repeat customers at this resort. I am not sure why. : The bars had good service. The buffet was terrible had to line up for 1/2 hrs or more for food . I had to ask many times just for coffee. Tables were not cleaned. My room was nice but NO Hot WATER for the whole week. Had to ask for clean towe [... read more]ls. And room wasn't cleaned until after 4pm I think because of the many pools of stagnant water lying around we were all bitten alive with Mosquitos. The beach was nice but very crowded. Water was beautiful. I found that the Entertainment crew was not around as much as they should be.and to cater to all ages Would I recommend this hotel NO . Would I go back definitely not.

Grand Memories Varadero: Worst 7 days

We recently stayed at this resort and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing from the moment we arrived. We arrived very late at night with our 18-month-old child. The check-in process took over an hour due to an apparent lack of staff. We stood in line for more than an hour while a separate issue was being escalated in front of us. The lobby was hot, not air-conditioned, and filled with mosquitoes, which made the wait even more uncomfortable. There was no consideration shown for families with small children. Once we finally reached the front desk, we were told that the two rooms we originally booked were far from the beach and pool. We were offered an upgrade to side-by-side rooms closer to the beach and pool for an additional \$240, which we accepted. When we arrived at our rooms, however, one was not ready. It was dirty, with unclean bathrooms, no towels or toilet paper, and unmade beds. It was already past 1:00 a.m. when two maids arrived to make the beds, but the room remained unclean and felt uncomfortable to sleep in. This led to us effectively losing our first night due to poor organization on the resort's part. The issues did not stop there. The phones in our rooms were not working, so any time we needed assistance, we had to walk all the way to the lobby—only to have most of our concerns ignored. The following day, we were given premium bracelets as a courtesy for the previous night’s issues, which only gave us access to the premium restaurant. We were told this did not include minibar refills, which felt like an insincere gesture given the inconvenience we experienced. Towels were also a persistent issue. We were never able to exchange our beach towels throughout the entire stay, despite multiple complaints. The room itself was in poor condition—doors were misaligned, the balcony door was extremely difficult to open and had no lock, and the room felt consistently damp, making the beds and overall environment very uncomfortable. My elderly mother had a particularly difficult time as the bathtubs and showers were installed so high up that getting in and out was unsafe. As for the dining experience, the premium restaurant offered very small portions and mediocre food, while the buffet was nearly inedible. There were flies landing on the food, plates, and cutlery, creating serious hygiene concerns. Although I have visited Cuba many times and understand the limitations around food, this experience was by far the worst I’ve had. Even the currency exchange machine was consistently out of order, adding to our frustrations. In summary, our stay was marked by disorganization, lack of professionalism, and poor customer service. The upgraded rooms we paid extra for did not reflect the quality we were promised, and based on that, we can’t imagine what the standard rooms must be like. I would not return to this resort nor recommend it to anyone. This was a waste of money and an unfortunate experience for our family.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Amazing resort

This is beautiful resort, this was my third time there in June 2, stayed there for a week, the weather was magnificent even thou it was showing online rain and clouds, you'll never know. All week was sunny and beautiful. Good room service, good buffet, love the bar and snack bar with yummy sandwiches at the beach. Memories Jibacoa: Memories Jibacoa to remember

It was a wonderful experience in Jibacoa - first of all, the beach with the reef. You don't need to book a trip as in other hotels - here the reef is literally two steps from the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful, so the hotel is maintained very well. The food and the three restaurants were great. I was surprised to see The Opera night performance with three wonderful singers performing opera hits and some timeless classics. Grand Memories Holguin: Grateful

Grateful for time with family. However the rooms did have cockroaches and the food was bland and limited protein options. The bartender jr was great and we meet our own friends from Toronto that enhanced the stay . Staff is moody n rude

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Just don’t

We packed up and changed resorts after two days. The Sunwing rep was amazing. Staff were not friendly. Crappy little paper cups (when they actually had them) somehow ran out of ice, Buffett food was poor even for Cuba. They were quick to shut it down and turn off the lights while you were still eating. Snack bar only had ham and cheese sandwiches and sometimes pizza even though there was a four page menu. Pay a little extra and stay elsewhere.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Beautiful beaches- Very good overall

The beaches are stunning, and the hotel was good value for the price. It exceeded expectations, although my expectations were in line for Cuba given various other trips. Premium upgrade was worth it as the room was updated and the bed and pillows seemed new. Overall, very pleased.

Sanctuary Cayo Largo: Exceptional Vacation

The hotel is small (only 45 bungalows two per room max), cozy, family like treatment, very clean, approachable staff member, grounds very clean, towels are abundant and not paper thin as I have seen in the past from other resorts... afternoon animation games are always fun... the two animators are very sweet, helpful and fun. Food was repetitive at times but very delicious nonetheless... they do the best they can within their limitations. I am there to relax, enjoy the beach etc.. not to g [... read more]ain 10-15 lbs. ? lol - You will always have something to eat. The last night they hosted an elegant "last supper" for everyone. Amazing ! Extra Delicious... what a nice gesture/treat. Pool was salt water, very clean, as well as the washrooms in the lobby/reception area... My bed was amazing... super comfortable (I usually have lower back issues) I slept like a baby. One major draw back, none of the resorts (including this one) has a beach area. Apparently a storm/hurricane had destroyed the water front some years ago... BUT they do have a bus/shuttle service is available to bring guests to two public beaches. It is about a 20 minute ride. I was a solo traveller - and I felt completely safe :)

This was my second time to this resort, was much better a couple of years ago.... I just have a couple of complaints,,first is, this time never had lobster unlike last time which was included at one of the elecart... Also no included late checkout...they wanted 25 American an hour....been to Cuba over 25 times...usually as a repeat customer, they throwing a late checkout

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Relaxing resort

No complaints Had a lovely time and enjoyed the beautiful beach everyday. People are friendly and helpful. Food was as good as can be and l always enjoyed the ala carts. My personal favorite was the Cuban restaurant.

We came with low expectations, in June. We have never travelled to Cuba in June before, mostly October to April. We were concerned about bugs (none) food shortages for low season (definitely none, we ate so well!!). The staff was top notch, so friendly and willing to help. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great time at Memories Flamenco

Just came back June 28 from our one week vacation. Location from airport was great! Hotel grounds were clean and well maintained. Hotel staff were helpful and courteous. Pools were always clean, drinks were great and food..well, they did manage to do their best! A bit repetitive in buffet, but Italian a la carte was very tasty. Overall, great time at Flamenco!

The hotel is very old, but maintained. The food was typical Cuban style food, and there was not much variety, but it improved over the last few days of the trip. The beach was stunning, although it seems like you had to walk a mile out to get the water that was only waist deep. This happened the minute we stopped on to the bus which took us to the hotel. And continued once we got to the hotel. Also being bitten in our hotel rooms. Because of this, we did not get to experience the shows at night, and stayed indoors to the extent possible, because the mosquitoes were out of control. But it’s probably just that time of year. It was much worse at the beginning of our trip, and not so many mosquito bites towards the end.

Memories Jibacoa: An unforgettable getaway at Memories Jibacoa!

My stay at Memories Jibacoa was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The resort is perfectly nestled between the mountains and the sea, giving it a peaceful and truly unique atmosphere.
