Breath taking vacation

The resort was a 10 out of 10, the saff was very friendly and always busy cleaning , serving etc. The food was amazing in all resteraunts including the buffet. The beach was clean and not alot of pressure type sellers. Only minor complaint was the hard beds. Other than that the Riu Republicia was a great place and would go back. Thank you

Good stay, not amazing

This is a beautiful resort, lovely grounds with many pool areas to suit your style. The beach is perfect with no rocks or seaweed to be seen, and you can walk for miles. The beach is hidden from the pool areas due to a high hill separating the two. The food was decent in the main buffet. Lots of options here and great service. We tried the steak house and had food that was either undercooked, or so overcooked that we could have started a hockey game with it. Beef tasted delicious but I was violently ill about half an hour after. Entertainment was hot/cold. The neon party was out of this world. Top level entertainment, better than any stay I have had elsewhere. I didn't bus over to the other resort for the pink party, so can't comment on that. I found the staff would come out and dance around the pool and talk about the entertainment, but never did zumba or salsa by the pool. We checked the schedule and it said it was on the beach the next day, but spent the day at the beach and no activities happened there. Our room was lovely. We had paid for a triple room, but somehow they had booked us in a standard room for 3 people, even though we paid more for a triple. We ended up upgrading to a family suite with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a shared patio and hallway area. Very nice room and ours was in a quiet area. (room 0178). Overall a very nice place. Alcohol is not top notch, but still a decent drink to be found everywhere. Swim up bar can get a little crazy when they start sliding people down the counter-tops, but there are many other pools close by if you don't enjoy that scene.

Hotel was clean, food was good. Rooms were ok, half our outlets didn’t work beds were extremely uncomfortable and rooms were very loud in the morning with doors constantly slamming, balcony was Ontop of generators so very loud on balcony parties were fun service was good

Fantastic Resort!

The Riu República was a fantastic Resort! The whole team put a lot of work into making it the best possible stay and brought a lot of energy to the events! Also the gardens were trimmed and kept in fantastic shape!

Resort is big and beautiful

We had a very nice tim here !! For the food was full and lots to eat for all , every meal was done so very nice , the ala-carts being open to when you wanted to go with out booking , was a big help too. The resort was beautiful

Fantastic place we already decided to go back and have also recommend it to several people really liked it therefore I very pleased and I’m sure that many of my family and friends will be happy with it as well

Amazing Resort & Amazing Service!

My boyfriend and myself have been to this same resort twice already because we loved it so much!! We have never had a problem there as the service is always great, rooms are cleaned everyday, beach is amazing, and they have amazing food and entertainment there with the every night shows! Always something to do, water slides, ping pong, volley ball, you name it! Riu Republica has it all!!

Terrible Resort

I used to be a big fan of Cuban vacation in this resort. Visited this place countless number of times during last 15 years. Nowadays this resort managed to ruin all the previous positive impressions and this current vacation. The nature is fantastic: still beautiful sea and beach. The resort is at 2 stars maximum. It is in terrible conditions and the management is also terrible. Service in some cases is just substandard: ignoring, rude, unprofessional and even endangering behavior. Great Resort

I booked this resort for my fiance’s Bday and she loved it.. the place is great. Its clean and the staff is super friendly. The entertainment staff makes a great effort to keep everybody entertained with amazing events. We loved the neon party and the pool party. They made special effort decorating our room. The only thing I would love to have improvement is the liqour brands which is still not a deal breaker.

Birthday trip

I thought the hotel was very nice they made me feel very special on my birthday they only thing I didn’t like was for such a big resort they didn’t have much option food wise everything else was great thank you again an hope to visit this hotel again

Best time ever.

Located not too far from the airport. Resort huge but very navigable. Use the post for directions and rooms. Bars, restaurants, great selections/choices/selection. Room pretty clean. Beach maintained.

RIU Rep

AMazing place and it was just like the agent told me, like the experience. especially with the supervisor Victor who was there to help, assist and reply to all the needs. You can tell, he is very caring and very professionnal . He makes our stay ( my friend and i) very easier, I just don t like the fact that the hotel asks you for an extra fee when you have other friends from other hotels visiting you ,,, that s really unfair and staying in a hotel is like your home , so you can have visitor  [... read more]as you wish. Planning another trip for December, this hotel could be my choice but that lil fact could be an issue to make my booking. At the end, i can recommand that place, food also is great except for the desserts who don t have any taste.

Great resort very clean amazing restaurants

The grounds were always clean, nice staff beautiful hotel rooms. Good location. Pools were always clean Good entertainment!!!!! I really liked the hotel and location. Younger crowd. Lots of choices for a la carte restaurants.

Beautiful beach

My 18 year old and I enjoyed the beach every single day. Very clean and plenty of loungers to choose from. We did visit the pools and the water slides too. So many lovey places to swim and different music to enjoy at every pool. Wish there was music on the beach. We enjoyed the buffet (thanks Lorenzo for making our table so lovely at breakfast and dinner) & the jerk chicken (on the beach) was great! Loved It

The grounds were beautiful,park like especially at night.The whole resort was constantly maintained-gardening,painting,cleaning.The food was delicious with a constantly changing menu.We even drank the water and ate the ice cubes with no negative results.Our room was spacious and cleaned daily. Our shower drain was rather sluggish and was fixed the same day as complaint was made.The only improvement could be with the entertainment which was similar most nights with different themes. Riu Republica - A sure bet

This was the first Riu I had ever been to. I was drawn tot he Riu name as they are a chain and they also have 5 star resorts. We were impressed by many things at the Riu. The food was fantastic - the amount of food choice, the quality and variety were outstanding. It was comparable to being on a cruise ship. It is a large resort and the grounds were immaculately maintained. Staff were friendly and the service was good. The one recommendation I would make to anyone thinking of going to this resort - take an adapter for the wall outlets. We didn’t realize that one was required so my electric toothbrush could not be plugged in for the week. Luckily the rooms did have USB ports in the room so charging phones tablets was not a problem.

Fun resort with lots to do!

Hotel was very well maintained, very clean. The food is amazing, service is great, all the employees are happy, willing to help and make your stay more enjoyable. The beach was very clean, no seaweed/ rocks. Would recommend the pool/ jungle party! Overall great resort and vacation!

Beautiful large clean resort

The riu republica was a beautiful large resort. Rooms were nice and clean as well. Our AC brook near the end on our floor but was not to hot as the fan still worked and I think some cold air still came out. The food was amazing, had everything I could think of with lots of flavour. Many restaurants that are all walk in, no reservations. The beach was AMAZING! Never had trouble finding laydown chair or shade. The beach water was clean and not rocky at all. Never used the pools but was very pretty. Great resort if you like to party. The hotel takes you off the resort to pool parties that were the best parties according to my 3 male friends. The staff were super friendly and always in a good mood. At night there was a disco that was always full. The shows were a 7 out of 10 when I compare to what I’ve seen ( I never expect much from the shows) One thing a really liked about the bar is that they Had a drink menu so it was easy to try many new things at a busy bar. Our 1st Adult only all inclusive resort. It was excellent!!

We travel alot and go to at least 3 all inclusive resorts a year. Riu Republica is one of the best resorts we have been. We would recommend it to our friends because of the rooms, food, many pools, great sand and beach area and amazing and friendly staff!! We were at this resort from July 8th to 15th, 2019 and it was probably 35 to 40% full. Not sure I would want to be at this resort at high season, as it can hold a lot of people and there would be people everywhere and probably line ups a [... read more]t the buffets, etc. etc.

Nice resort

Resort was huge, very clean. Lots of walking but not really a bad thing. Great service. More geared towards younger travellers 20-35 years old. Food wasn’t the greatest. Sunwing worst company to travel with! Not a resort problem but a problem if you have to book through them. Delays upon delays. Absolutely ridiculous
