Great resort super clean

Everything at this resort was spectacular other than having to make reservations for meals at restaurants that was impossible to get into. You would have to reserve online several weeks before going.

Mother & Daughters week in paradise!

The Hotel really is beautiful, very clean! Which was my main concern. The food was fabulous which was my second concern; and being that we were there (2 females without a male) I had a bit of fear for safety, but I can say it felt very safe right from the start. So first off, our connector flight was cancelled due to weather so we scrambled to get to Toronto from Windsor to catch the main flight, then when we got there they told us that our whole trip was no longer in the system!! Ugh so we had to be re ticketed and called the hotel to make sure they still had us on the books, all worked out but very stressfully, then when we got to the hotel we had a beautiful room with a great view but it only had one bed, which I booked two beds so I brought this to the attention of the folks at the front desk, they moved us the next day and all seemed well, except the view wasn’t that great we were now looking at the resort next to ours, and it was actually the break area and loading dock of the resort next to ours, so I wasn’t happy but thought well no big deal, then the first night the noise of the workers on break and the trucks coming and going, idling , and beeping when backing up kept me up for hours, I mentioned this to the front desk and they were willing to move us again but it just seemed to be too much to go through again, they ended up compensating us with a bottle of rum and a couple of travels mugs (better than a kick in the pants) so we just decided to deal with the noise, and make the most of it. To sum it all up we enjoyed every minute of the vacation, regardless of the mishaps, next time I will confirm prior to going that we are getting what we ordered. Life is too short to let the little things wreck the big picture 😁 Hope this review is helpful

We liked this resort so much, we returned for the second time.

As stated, this was a return trip, having gone to the Aquamarine in 2019. The only difference was the carrier. A special shoutout to Hector in reception who handled our request for a room change closer to the lobby and buffet so that my wife did not have to walk far on her bad knees. Our room was great, the bed was comfortable. Great food at the buffets. Excellent trip!

The resort was great and Air Transat offered very comfortable flights. This is my second trip to the Dominican Republic and to Bahia Principe and both times, I had a great time. I am definitely planning on returning.

Beautiful Resort

The resort and grounds were stunning. The food and drinks were excellent, especially the a la cartes. Lots of sunshine and heat. Definitely recommend but request a pool view room. The staff were very welcoming

Simply Beautiful!!!!

This hotel is like a little city within itself, no need to venture away from this gem. Beautiful beaches, lush grounds, friendly courteous staff and the pools are so clean. Trolley cars are everywhere to drive you where you wish to go but if you choose to walk, the landscaping is peaceful and so green.

Perfect from beginning to end!

Perfect from beginning to end! Myself and a girlfriend purchased this trip through Air Canada vacations. Once we arrived at the resort, check in was speedy and efficient. We were taken to our room right away upon check-in. We had a ground floor, pool view. The room was clean, fresh and in need of no repair. Normally when I travel with another female I decline a ground-floor room, but this resort seemed different I felt very safe and secure at all times. An abundance of employees working to keep up the maintenance and beautification of this fine resort. We had a wonderful seven day stay. It was everything we had hoped it would be and more. I would return to this resort every year and bring my husband and 4 children next time.

Excellent 10 day vacation

There is nothing bad to say about this resort. Cleanliness stands out in our minds. We did have our room changed as our first garden view room faced the parking lot for the employees of the neighbouring Royalton resort. I would recommend staying away from the 84000 block on the garden view side if possible. Another minor glitch is the saving of lounge chairs around the pool. People would put a book on the chair early in the morning, say 3am, and they would head to the beach and return to the [... read more]ir pool chairs after lunch. Very unrespectful to the rest of the patrons. Other than that I’d highly recommend this resort.

Upgrade to the Ambar

I would suggest if you are looking for a real 5 star resort to upgrade to the Ambar. Most photos on the travel websites are actually of the Ambar, which the security guards will not let you to walk around if they see your different colour bracelets. We first checked into the aquamarine and the ceiling in our room visibly cracked was leaking water, no shower curtain so the washroom was soaking wet after a show. As we have stayed at Ambar prior we decided to upgrade at this point, the difference between food, service, drinks is unimaginable. We would never stay at Aquamarine again, I would say it is equivalent to a 3 1/2-4 star hotel.

Vacay at Grand Bahia Prin. Aquamarine

Very clean resort. Lousy entertainment. Resort itself is decent size but travel agent failed to mention there were six other resorts on same compound. Need to use trains to all most all restaurants. Beautiful beach, private aquamarine beach seating but packed in like sardines. Many people have been there multiple times but we would not go back as it’s just way to huge for our liking.

Great resort

We had a few hiccups at the beginning of our stay but still had a fabulous time, well maintained grounds and the food was amazing. I wasn’t impressed with the a la carte booking, when we first arrived they were all full, leaving us with very late bookings and who wants to eat a big meal at 9 or 9:30 at night especially for someone with stomach issues.

Average

The hotel is average not a 5 star equivalent to mexico but ok. Food average and the same everyday. Entertainment was below average not professional at all. No room service for the price of the hotel it was not good rooms not close to the pool for a premium room and liquor was watered down as I am not heavy drinker but took alot of drinks to feel anything slow service at the pool bar

Very good resort.

Amazing 7 nights we spent at Bahia Principe Aquamarine- punta Cana. A real 5 stars resort, very good foods and dining, friendly staff. We tried 4 a la carte restaurants, the buffet was excellent with many food choices. Beach and pool were excellent. We will do it again for sure. We recommend this resort to anyone looking for true 5 stars resort.

Fabulous!

This was our 5th time at this resort!!! Just love it!! The rooms, food and staff are all wonderful. The beach is amazing! We walk over an hour in the morning then again in the afternoon. After that we go to the swim up bar in the pool before going out for dinner and entertainment. Excellent resort!

Beautiful Resort!

The grounds, restaurants, our room and beach were all beautiful and very clean. We found booking a la carte dinners frustrating. We love the dinning out experience and found even though we were booking within an hour of checkin, places were no longer available and if they were they were booking between 8:30-9:30pm. When we would walk by the restaurant, half the tables would be empty. The best was the Brazilian meat place and Mashua Nikkei. The pool in the Aquamarine was beautiful although i [... read more]t was hard to find chairs available. The shows that we were able to make were great! (Burlesque, karaoke, through ages). It was our first time in Punta Cana so maybe it’s normal but there were a lot of people trying to sell you something. Overall it was a good stay but I wouldn’t rush back.

Great resort!

We stayed at the Aquamarine last week for 7 nights and were very impressed. The resort is huge but we found it easy to walk around or use the frequent shuttles. The food and service were very good. The Aquamarine had a dedicated beach section that was also adults only which made finding chairs and relaxing very easy. Beachside bar service was good with ready access to the beach grill and washrooms. The main pool was huge with three sections that allowed you to rest quietly or participate in the  [... read more]many planned activities. Nightly entertainment was good plus you could go to the other parts of the complex to view other entertainment. Overall a great resort that I would definately return to in the future.

Amazing Girls Trip

What an amazing resort! The beach is stunning and kept very clean if seaweed. The property and pool areas are beautiful, service and food were beyond excellent. Felt very safe and staff were very friendly and accommodating. I will definitely go back and recommend.

Fantastic stay

Our room was awesome, spacious and clean and a lovely view of the pool. The hotel is very quiet, at 10:30 pm they stop the entertainment at the main lobby, good for those that want the quiet and to relax in the evening. Only downside of the room was the mattresses are very hard and take a bit getting used to. We enjoyed the nightly shows in our own lobby. This is a huge resort with many amenities. We were in the adults only section as that was our preference. There are frequent shuttles to where [... read more]ver you want to go within the resort. The only downside we found was that as newcomers to this resort coming back from one of the others was a bit challenging as the shuttles do not always pick you up in the same place you were dropped off. Even after finding the right location to get one, they do not announce stops, so find a landmark as all the buildings tend to look the exact same and we missed our stop on a few occasions. The beach is a bit of a trek if you choose to walk and I was surprised at how small the beach actually was. This I heard was more due to weather related conditions than a fault of the resort itself. Personally, I prefer the pool anyways. Always action there and they have plenty of chairs, umbrellas and such. I would recommend a trip to the Spa. It was an hour of pure heaven and their luxury pools were an added bonus. Kudos to the onsite Doctor, she was amazing when I had to see her due to a minor accident I had while there. Shout out to Carlos Mercedes who was the most accommodating of all the hotel staff. While there they will try to get you to go for a tour of the Amber and what we thought was a 20 min tour turned out to be over an hour and a half. To save you the time, the time share they are trying to sell you, while a good deal, still costs $ 24k American. Had we of known that ahead of time we would not have bothered. The only other thing I found was not all the staff are as friendly as what we are used to from visiting Cuba so many times. Perhaps it is simply a language barrier, who knows.

Awesome vacation

Chez GBP Aquamarine le services est irreprochable, la plage etait propre et les membres de l'equipe du GBP s'assure que vos vacances soit memorable et sans soucis. la Nourriture etait excellente et le restaurant a la carte Portofino nous a offert le souper le plus delectable de notre vie! Somme toute nous retournerons forcement dans un GBP pour une troisieme visite l'an prochain.

Worst experience ever

The rooms and grounds of the hotel is beautiful but the beach is about 5-7 minutes away .The food is NOT good at all and the staff was racist.Majority of them thought that my friend and i are dominicans and because of that my friend and I was not catered to.On numerous occasions they passed us by as if we were not there and rendered their service to others (white).I came on vacation to relax after a stressful semester and my stress levels were through the roof after this vacation.
