Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Very nice hotel, Thank you Angela, Sunwing was terrible

The hotel is modern and more hotel than resort, but very pleasant and relaxing. Everything is clean and well maintained, when you need something just ask and they will provide. The restaurants offer a large variety of food and a good service, we were very pleased. We spent an enjoyable week. Only bad memory Sunwing service even upgrading to Elite plus we didn't receive any food, barely a cup of water and the ground transportation in Punta Cana late and disrespectful. Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Amazing Resort

This was my second stay at Breathless Punta Cana and I will definitely be returning again. Upon arrival we were quickly checked in and given the upgrade that I had requested without hesitation. The atmosphere is upbeat and the E-team is there helping to make your stay as enjoyable as they can. Everyone of them try to make you smile as the pass by. Shaky Shaky and Super Gerald as well as Lady Ana and several others that I am sorry to say I can't remember their names, made a special effort to sto [... read more]p and share conversation even though they always had a busy schedule. The E-team put on excellent shows and considering some of the only started less than a month ago they were very impressive. The shows were great especially the Magic and Circus Acts. The buffet had an excellent variety at every meal and the service was great too. We went to the Steak House, Coquette (French Cuisine) The Dominican and Japanese specialty restaurants each one was excellent. We were not disappointed with any of the meals we had. The pools are huge so you can find a quiet spot if you like or join the party. I highly recommend going to Breathless Punta Cana. I'll be going back, just not soon enough.

Breathless Riviera Cancun: Top notch resort for a solo getaway ***with a caveat - see below

Beautiful resort, amazing service, great food, yummy drinks. The only issue I had was the noise level and not having a clear understanding of the different types of resort rooms and areas. So let me help you out... Excelerate Area - this is considered the party zone. I knew this ahead of time and made sure I didn't book in this area. Allure - I booked my room in the Allure zone thinking I would be no where near excelerate. Once I got to the resort, I realized that one side of allure ma [... read more]kes up the U shape of the excelerate area. My beautiful, corner ocean front suite was right above the DJ booth. After talking to the Front Desk, I decided to move rooms (sad to lose my corner suite but more than happy to have some peace and not hear the Techno beat that starts at 9 am). Xhale - This area is considered the quiet zone (and it is quiet) but comes at a premium cost. I could have switched over to this area for an additional $150 USD/night. I travelled on my own and felt safe in the resort and beach areas. Security is posted at either end of the beach to monitor activities and resort guests (no bracelets, so nice). I met a lot of wonderful people from all over – mostly Canadians, Americans and some Europeans. Due to north winds and the lagoons nearby, the ocean was not the usual turquoise that the Mayan Riveria is known for, it was dark and wavy. Not sure how long this will persist but it was about the same for the 7 days of my stay (Nov 11-18)

Breathless Riviera Cancun: BEST VACATION AND RESORT EVER!

Breathless Riviera Cancun: Amazing resort

Beautiful resort with amazingly friendly staff. All restaurants were amazing, especially Silkcity (we went 3 times at this restaurant). Rooms were very clean spacious. Would go back to this resort in a heartbeat.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Resort was ok

This resort is OK nothing wow. When we got to the hotel we upgraded our room to swim up which cost almost 500 Canadian it rained three out of the seven days we stayed there and could not even use the swim up pool there was so much debris in it. However staff are really nice and food is good. Jose help us with a few hiccups we had at the hotel I give this hotel a 7 out of 10.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Simply perfect

We stayed from Sept 14-21 and chose Los Cabos because we had to cancel out trip 1 week earlier to Punta Cana and it's true what they say about how everything happens for a reason....we LOVED our week at Breathless cabo san lucas. Paulina at check in was beyond amazing and always smiling. The entire staff couldn't do enough for us. Food was great. Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Amazing first time there!

My mom and I went to the Dominican for the first time as a mother-daughter weeklong date. We booked with the Travel Agent O'Neil Graham and he was amazing! My mom had specific requests as to where she wanted our room, and he assisted us with all our needs, questions, and anything else we needed. Next time we plan a trip again, we will definitely be reaching out to him! The food was great, the room was perfect, and the staff were so sweet. I enjoyed all the events everyday, and i met a lot great people! My mom and i agree that we would definitely return whether with each other, more family members, or a large group of friends!!

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Awesome!!!

This was an amazing hotel from start to finish. The people here are great! Hard workers for sure! Service was fantastic! Best resort I have ever been to! Breathless Punta Cana Resort: PLEASE READ If anything other than partying is important to you...

Skip Breathless. For a country where over 50% of their GDP comes from tourism you would think that service, consistency and quality would be a priority for a "five star resort" however if you read the number of reviews I have about breathless you will quickly see all the faults of this resort downplayed by how amazing the e-team is (granted the e-team is the heart of this resort; without them this place would be nothing). Review after review you see mentions of terrible food or the food is ok [... read more] and that's the honest truth the food is just that, ok (at best). There is alot of bad and when you find something you like and think ok I'll stick with that because it's tolerable you will quickly find out hey this isn't what I got the last time I ordered it or ate it at the buffet. For anyone who has been to a real five star in their life and paid the amount this place charges your expectations should be higher than all the five star reviews here settle for. I wanted to believe that the critical reviews were just people who couldn't be pleased or who had unrealistic expectations and that's why I booked. My goal is to hopefully shed clarity to those who are on the fence and to tell those that saw what I saw in the reviews not to decide to give this place the benefit of the doubt. It took me coming here to find that out. This resort is a testament of the fatal flaw of aggregate review sites and that's the difference of everyone's priorities and experiences. For priorities if you go to a resort and skip breakfast and lunch, drink all day and party then this place is probably five star to you because that is what you came for. However if you want to eat food that is delicious, have consistency in service and food as well as have that great atmosphere as you should expect from a true five star resort this place won't be for you. Then comes experience, if you don't know anything else then you have nothing to compare Breathless to then it might be great to you, that is until you experience something better. I have paid less than half I did on this trip from a 3.5 star resort in Mexico and received better service and food. This resort throughout your time here will tell you to give shout outs in your reviews on trip advisor to show love to the e-team staff. That's why you see so many five star reviews as they imply that their employees performance is judged on these reviews. This pulls on guests heart strings as they are being asked to do this for the people that give them great service as a means to show their appreciation and it's implied that the employees will be given some sort of reward or as though their pay is somehow based on their shoutouts on these reviews. That's why the majority of the reviews for this hotel are of this nature; overly inflating the overall rating of this hotel. Now that I've at length addressed my perception of the faults of this resort I do want to say the great parts that made this place three stars to me. -the e-team is very engaging and makes sure everyone is always having a good time if they want to participate, if you don't they are quick to allow you your space -the beach is beautiful and well maintained, just the same as the resort which is beautifully manicured -the staff that work hard and take pride in their work are great the issue is its very hit or miss so when you find the good ones it makes you want to shout them out that much more! Christian at the Deep pool bar works tirelessly making drinks and putting on a show! He makes everyone feel like they're his best friend and he is the biggest asset this hotel has outside of the e-team -Rooms are spacious, jacuzzis on all the balconies are wonderful, size of the resort allows people to never feel crowded and if you want to find quiet there is places to avoid or engage the party based on your mood. Rooms are well kept by the maid service and mini bars are constantly stocked. All in all for a place that touts itself as unlimited luxury once you get here you will soon find the plethora of add on things and upsell of things that you can't do without paying extra. (multiple different lounge options, meal options to enhance your stay, exhale club, all wines outside of house, spa, and luxury branded liquor is only available at request from limited places) hopefully you've read all of this and this has helped you save some of your hard earned money or helped you decide that based on what matters to you that this is the right spot for you!

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Magnificent resort

Great staff. From Check-in to the groundskeepers. Pools,grounds and rooms very immaculate. Rooms service very prompt. Abundant of food in restaurants. Lots of places to eat. Amazing night life for party goers. Access to nearby resort. Close to local transit.

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Great trip!

My husband and I just came back from a week at Breathless and it was fabulous. We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and we had the best time. The beach was great and clean. No fighting for a beach chair. The entertainment staff were great, friendly and talented. The food was top notch. Loved the fact that we didn't have to book a la carte dinners and there were options every night, including the resort next door. Everything was clean and modern. We would love to return soon!

Breathless Riviera Cancun: Wonderful resort

First and foremost this was a spectacular resort. I will list the pros and cons: Pros: -Stunning grounds and rooms -Extremely pleasant, accommodating, kind staff. Language not an issue. -Very clean and safe. No worries about use or drinking of water but did stay away from trying water from room tap. -Weather amazing. Breakfast unreal. X-hale only. -Xhale pool amazing from the service to the romantic and relaxing feel. People who use this pool were fun, respectful, and mature. Cons: -Food at restaurants so-so. Loved the Italian. Never went to French though. -Room service surprisingly good for dinner anyway. Breakfast not so good. -Swim out room pretty but would not do again. Water in swim out very cold. Also may have comtributed to the extreme 24-7 humidity. Shower in middle room didn't help either. -Needed a makeup mirror in bathroom. I know this sounds petty but mirror very deep away from edge counter and lighting poor around room to use other mirrors. -Fitness Center definitely geared for males. Lowest weight 7.5 lbs. and machines scaled for larger people. Nice and clean and up to date though. -Xcelerate pool brings with it a different crowd. I didn't think I would mind the fact that there are topless women but it did have the feel of a cheesy swinger-like area with women up dancing topless and kind of strutting their stuff. Either way one knows when going to that pool that that may have that feel I guess so personal choice. -pushy attempts to cell spa coupons. Pleasant interactions yet don't want to be co tinually asked if we want to go to the spa. -Beach not good at all. We knew this going into the trip but as not beach people decided to book anyway. Thing we didn't consider was negative effect on view and inability to walk he beach in am or during time there. -nightlife so-so. Show each night at 10-1030 in theatre like room and the After Dark fun smaller venue for dancing. Really resort winds down by 11. Overall I definitely would recommend this resort. Was a wonderful 7 days there. Resort has a lot to offer and staff delightful. The 3 pool choices offers something for everyone or, in our case, the opportunity to mix it up some.

Breathless Montego Bay: Breathless Montego Bay- Interesting concept with poor execution and sloppy delivery

I visited Breathless Montego Bay with my partner at the start of May 2017. I understand the resort is in a "soft opening" and has only been open for about two months. I chose this resort for its proximity to the airport (15 minute bus in light traffic), access to Secrets next door (about a 5 minute walk to a restaurant or the beach), and a good experience at Breathless in Punta Cana. Breathless Montego Bay did not live up to my expectations and I would not go back unless many changes were made.  [... read more] The Resort: The resort is small (only 150 rooms) but beautiful. Clearly the resort is trying to minimize offerings and bridge off of Secrets next door- the system for doing this just hasn't been arranged well and established. The technology in the rooms is impressive but not terribly well planned (i.e. trying to figure out which of the many buttons is the light for the toilet in the dark). The room was perhaps the nicest I've been in but I worry that it may not last long as the idea was nice but the quality of workmanship is sloppy. Air conditioning was great but temp control was inconsistent. I really liked the control of the light colours and dimness in the room. Hot tub was great! You could sometimes hear the music from outside in the room (especially the saxophone one night). Parts of the resort were obviously very hastily built (i.e. paint coming off in the shower, paint spills from sloppy painting, no heat in the hot tubs outside). There was an active stream of water through several ceilings one rainy day- including one stream above the bar through a light fixture. The Breathless beach was small but beautiful and generally not crowded. There are a lot of rocks in the shallow water so be prepared to hear people yell "Ow! Ow! Ow!" as they try to get in the water. There was no waiter on the beach until the 6th day we were there. The bathroom at the beach is not properly lit and it was always a bit disconcerting to use the facilities when you can’t see anything. Staff and Entertainment: Staff was not friendly compared to other resorts I have been to- in fact I felt completely unwanted and unwelcome at times. I saw numerous cases where staff were rude to vacationers (including myself) and many cases where they just failed to meet the basic requests (i.e. I asked for a bowl or cup rather than a cone for ice cream and was told no and immediately dismissed). I think menus must be expensive because I witnessed many staff scold customers to “make sure you return that to the bin” (menu at the bar that was currently being used… at the bar), or “don’t get the menu wet”. Entertainment was awkward (a small team of people that would typically just dance amongs themselves) and mediocre. The circus act at Secrets and Breathless was great, but the regular entertainment team failed to find a purpose. Housekeeping was always consistent and friendly when I saw them in the halls. Maintenance failed to resolve a simple issue with our safe after more than 3 hours of attempting to get them to come (including arranging a specific time for them to come at their convenience- they did not show). I eventually fixed the problem myself and received no apology or sympathy. Communication about daily events and which restaurants were open or randomly closed for certain days of the week (and their various names) was lacking. It was clear that this resort could be much more organized and a major improvement in customer service is needed. Access to Secrets and Hard Rock was not really explained and we kind of struggled to gather this information on our own. The Food: The food at both Breathless and Secrets was by far the best I’ve had at any resort. We ate at Breathless and Secrets and I can say I was impressed with the quality and assortment of foods at both resorts. The restaurant staff was more accommodating in general (not always) and had much better customer service skills than reception staff and the bar staff. The beach restaurant was great and staff was amazing although they often did not have almost 50% of the menu offerings available. The music: I like EDM and techno. The first day was fine but by the end I felt like I was being hypnotized by the monotonous and irritating music. This is not where the party was at. I enjoyed the variety of music that you could hear from Hard Rock at the Breathless beach.

We ended up loving this resort. we were initially unsure about the techno party vibe when we arrived, but found lots of quiet areas and TONS of shade for r&r. great food choice; beach only OK - not bavaro

Breathless Riviera Cancun: Wondrous location, not enough superlatives

Everything was so beautiful from accommodations to grounds to beach.to pools to restaurants. Have only one criticism and that is that you play music in each restaurant appropriate to the country whose cooking is served. This would set the atmosphere. Forget the rock n roll and heavy base.

Breathless Riviera Cancun: Very loud all night party!

Clean, fun resort with fabulous food! BUT the all night pool/beach party on Saturdays is no joke. Our room was in the 5000 building on the party pool side and the music blared ALL NIGHT until 7am. Even with earplugs it was like sleeping next to a loud speaker. There were only a handful of people down at the party, so not sure why they needed to have the music that loud all night long!...I can understand if we were the only ones not at the party, but there was barely anyone. Other people who had [... read more] rooms surrounding this pool reported sleeping on the floor in the bathroom, hoping the added door would insulate from the noise...it did not! The hotel staff were actually quite rude and didn't seem to care much about the complaints they were receiving...just laughed and/or ignored you. We were told that the party is also for local people coming in from other areas, who paid a small fee to come party at our resort for the night. We had a tour booked for the next morning with a 7am pickup time, which we went up to the lobby and had the hotel staff change at 4:30am, since we had not yet had a wink of sleep at this point. The beach isn't great. It is hard (almost like concrete with a bit of sand on top). There are hedges that partially block the view from the beach chairs and the water has quite a few rocks. The hotel grounds and pool areas are very clean. The service by the pool is good...always someone walking around asking if you want a drink...but there are also many bars so you can easily grab a drink yourself. The hotel rooms are very clean and comfortable. The food and service in the a la carte restaurants is very good and no reservations are required...first come, first serve. The alcohol is all premium brands. We were there for 10 days (arrived Sunday morning and departed Tuesday evening) and really enjoyed our stay up until the pool party night...the lack of sleep threw off the last few days of our trip and the lack of concern from the staff was off-putting. The entertainment staff were very friendly, but the rest of the staff in the lobby, coffee shop and some bars were very rude. We would not go back to this resort.

Breathless Riviera Cancun: Look no further !!!

O.K. finally found the resort that has it all !!!! Seriously, a quiet area to soak in the sun and surroundings ; Another, somewhat crowd mixer and yes, the "party Pool" !!! So you are the boss of deciding what mood you're in and what you are looking for at that very second and minute of each and every day..... totally kept bouncing back and forth from the party pool area to the relaxed area............just not as young as we used to be........L.O.L.
