Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Great resort - friendly staff and well kept grounds and pools. Clean rooms.
Grounds well kept - rooms were clean - a little dated - food usual buffet fare - you could place a special order with the chef if would like something specific to eat but hotel does not advertise this - found this out by accident -
Access to ocean great. Drinks were made with local liquor not premium liquor.
Great time to go as hotel not busy except for week-ends when there were a lot of people there for the week-end which caused line-ups at the waterpark and restaurants. You either ha[... read more]d to wait to ge a tube for the lazy river or didn't get one at all.
Kid friendly resort.
Entertainment o.k. on week-end but not during week.

Travellers Beach Resort: Beautiful resort
Everything was amazing, the beach was well taken care of and had plenty of shade earlier in the day. The grounds and the pool were very nice as well. We rented a cabin and even though it was very small it was enough for our stay. The only thing that was disappointing was when my bf was cooking the room got too hot to even be in there and it took a long time to cool back down. Air conditioning would have been nice just for when he was cooking. The rest of the time the fan was enough to keep it co[... read more]mfortable.

Excellence Oyster Bay: Amazing Resort - we will be back.
The resort has some growing pains however even when we were there it was getting better each day. The views are spectacular and the staff are friendly and accommodating. There were some hiccups with the restaurants however they want you to communicate that so they can improve. I highly recommend this resort. The staff at spice Arlene the manager and Kerida were the absolute best and so was Akeem from Zenith. See you next year!

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Wonderful vacation
The hotel was amazing. Our room was on the ground floor with an amazing view of the beach and scenery. The grounds are well kept (some loose tiles to be mindful of), the food was great and the drinks were amazing. The Japanese restaurant is a must try if you are looking for something other than the buffet. Overall really good hotel!

Couples Swept Away: Amazing Couples Swept Away
We just came back from Couples Swept Away.
Wonderful vacation in beautiful tropical setting and amazing white sand beach with crystal clear water. Food was one of the best we had in all inclusive resorts and we travel at least once a year to different once. Book beach front room if you can, they are located directly on the beach with beautiful ocean views and spectacular sunsets.
Hotel offers tons of activities if you want to keep busy... they have sport centre across the street . We had prof[... read more]essional tennis lessons by Norson.. very good ... the resort has 4 beautiful tennis courts, squash, gym and full size laps pool.
The best restaurant for us was Feathers .. great food and service.
Hotel has around 300 rooms so everything is close by.
Hotel offers lots of events enhancing romance.
One night they had amazing bone fire on the beach with soft romantic music.
They have music at night in Palm restaurant and also late evening disco or sing along .
Overall I would recommend this hotel to couples who want to have amazing relaxing time on the beach or want to keep busy . This hotel has something for everybody.
We will be back for sure.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Good resort
The hotel, location, food, and people are excellent, beach is good but not everyone will be able to tolerate very loud music on the beach. The level of noise definitely exceeded safe for hearing level. Based on the foregoing this resort can be recommended for young generation while family with kids should either consider less noisy locations or take ear plugs.

Sandals Dunn's River: Disappointing service
Staff were miserable, if not miserable, then bored with their job.
We rarely tipped. Housekeeping was minimal and the few times we asked for something it took 1-2 hours to have the item restocked. Towels looked as though they were thrown on the towel rack and we did not receive daily housekeeping. 3 days went by and we finally requested housekeeping-they eventually came.
The food was basic, nothing glamorous or a reason to return. It is too bad the the restaurants all took their turns to close[... read more]. They should be open for all meals to give more of a variety to customers.
The beach was very small. The chairs at the beach were too crowded, no privacy or space.
The only impressive aspect of the resort was the spa. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and were effective in the treatments. We were so impressed we went twice! We wished the entire resort was the same.
I did appreciate that we could take food from the restaurant to the pool or to our rooms because we have been to other resorts where we were not allowed to do that.
Many areas for below we gave poor rating due to the fact that Jamaica is anti-gay and we are a married lesbian couple. We will NOT be returning to Jamaica.

Catalonia Montego Bay: Great Atmosphere
The room was clean, the people there were very nice and helpful.
It bothers me all the signs they have there saying what you cannot do. The pool closed at 6pm that make no sense.
I enjoyed all the activities they have during the day and the night shows.
My boyfriend and I stayed here from Sept 2-9, 2019. This hotel was good in a lot of aspects including the food (although as many all-inclusives do, the buffet got quite repetitive - and we only stayed a week). The al a cartes were pretty good, but I wish they had a restaurant dedicated to more authentic Jamaican food. The hotel isn't really near anything that you could walk to to try some good jerk chicken or peppered shrimp, so I was hoping that there would be access to this stuff on the resort[... read more]. Another great aspect of the hotel was the pools and the entertainment. Although we missed out on the entertainment the first few nights that we were there because of how large the grounds are, the performances that we did see were great. The beaches were just alright. They were not that nice sandy beach that you were looking for, as once you got into the water the ground was very rocky and not comfortable to stand on in bare feet and it explained why a lot of people were wearing water shoes. The main beach there is pretty far from any bars, so if you're a drinker, I would definitely recommend grabbing more than one drink for you trek back to the beach. The staff was great. Specifically Kenroy at the omelette station in the morning - miss him already! Overall, there are a few things that need improvement but I would come back to this resort again.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Beautiful Resort so many ways
Before travelling to the resort I read lots of reviews and had some concerns. After my stay there I am pleased to say that this resort exceeded probably all expectations. The rooms were beautiful and so clean, the multiple beaches and pools were all perfect and left so many choices daily. The food was excellent as well at the buffets and the ala carte restaurants. Most important was the service..from cleaners to bar tenders to wait staff .. all were excellent. I would definitely recommend this r[... read more]esort

Jenn Black of Tripcentral.ca was terrific at helping me get the most for money. the crystal clear water of the bay is outstanding from the beach we seen Stingrays, Starfish, barracuda and crabs. the staff at the hotel are extremely helpful and the food was delicious.
( Mandalay restaurant, pass on that, had better food at the mall )

We had a great stay at the Grand Bahia. It was our third time going and I wouldn’t hesitate to go again. Our pool is our favourite place to hang out while we are there during the day. Looking forward to our next visit.

We booked the Imperial Club package with Club Mobay provided by Transat.
When we arrived to club Mobay at the airport – we were told to help ourselves to food in the glass case and drinks. The food case was completely empty – not a SINGLE thing for us to eat[... read more] while we waited for transportation to the hotel.
When we arrived at the hotel, there was no separate check in desk as it was supposed to be a part of the package we booked. This was not too bad as there were not a lot of people checking in at the time we arrived at night.
Once we got to our room, there was no welcome gift as we were told was supposed to be there as part of the imperial club package we paid for. Just a letter welcoming us to the resort.
The food was horrible at the resort – regardless if we tried the restaurants or the buffet. There are no other words I have for it. Simply horrible.
On Tuesday, we paid the hotel for an extra guest to stay with us in our room. They did not provide us with any other bedding for our guest. There were extra pillows on the shelf in the closet but we had to pull the blanket off our own bed for him to sleep on the sofa.
Let’s fast forward to Wednesday September 4th 2019 when the real troubles began.
We had the “Do no disturb†sign placed on our door, as we always do when we are in our room. Our friend was asleep in the living room area. I was getting dressed and my partner was in the bathroom about to get into the shower.
There was a knock on the door, which we ignored, since we had the do not disturb on the door. The person knocked again, then again a third time. I assumed there must have been some emergency for him to keep knocking so I grabbed a towel to wrap around my upper body to go see what the issue was.
I didn’t even make it to the door when it was just opened. Once he opened the door, the do not disturb sign fell on the floor and he stood there staring at me with a very shocked look on his face. I picked up the sign and asked him “what are you doing, is there something I can help you with?â€
He then stuttered out “umm, do you need your fridge stocked?†I just looked at him in total disbelief, as we both knew he was NOT supposed to be entering my room with the do not disturb on the door and said to him, “well I guess since you are already in hereâ€.
He looked like a deer caught in headlights. He came in as my friend sat on the couch, and restocked the fridge and left.
I was very disturbed by this for a number of reasons, so I made my way to the lobby with my partner and my friend to speak to a manager about what happened.
When I got to the front desk, I immediately asked for a manager and the girl asked me what for. I told her what happened and she asked us to have a seat while she got someone.
After waiting almost 20 mins, a guy came over and introduced himself as the bar supervisor (keep in mind, I asked for a manager).
I then explained everything again for the second time and he told me he needed to locate a manager (like I originally asked for).
After waiting more then 30 mins again, (he was not able to locate a manager), a woman came and I explained the entire situation for a third time.
She proceeded to tell me that they do not take these things lightly and it would be handled and another manager would be speaking with me about what happened (I assume she was referring to the guest relations manager). She asked me if anything was taken from my room. I advised her that he would not have had the chance to as we were all in the room when he entered. She stated that anytime someone enters our room, it is logged in their system when they swipe their card to enter. So if anything was taken, they would know who was in the room.
I proceeded to advise her that I do not take inventory of my items on a daily basis to immediately know when/if something was to go missing. I have a small gopro camera that I wouldn’t even take out until the day I was going on an excursion. So if someone entered my room on Monday and took it, but I didn’t need to use it until Thursday, how am I to know when exactly it went missing?
She stated that she understands and that a report would be filed with their security office and someone would contact me about the matter. I advised her that I no longer felt safe on their property and would be renting a space elsewhere for the remainder of my time there and would return when it was time to leave. I asked that whomever was supposed to be contacting me to reach me on my cell phone and we left. This all happened on Wednesday Sept 4th (on my partners birthday which was the whole purpose of the trip, now ruined by this nonsense).
We left the resort, spending a lot more money now having to book elsewhere to stay.
Of course, we did not receive any phone call by the time we returned to the hotel late Friday night (we were leaving to head back to Toronto Saturday evening).
To add – I was told that I would be able to get a late check out for Saturday as the airport transfer was not picking us up until 5:10pm (part of imperial club). When I asked the front desk for the later check out – she advised me that it would be a charge of an additional $20 USD per hour. I advised her that the Imperial Club was supposed to be no additional charge. She then told me to wait a few minutes and then came back and told me that the late check out was not available.
After everything that had already transpired, I was not having this so I asked to speak with a manager again. After having to wait another 30-35 minutes for a manager, the guy comes to me and says that it is not available. I begin to explain to him my frustration with all that had happened and he cut me off and said he was aware there were issues the days before, but he was not there to discuss that, he was there to discuss the late check out. He then said the latest he could give me was 2pm. At this point, I was totally flabbergasted at his response and said fine as I simply had no more fight left in me.
When we finally got back to our room (this is now later Friday night after being gone since Wednesday morning), we get in to find our room was cleaned (as expected) but our fridge was never restocked. Not even a single bottle of water to drink.
There was a letter left on our bed stating that someone from guest relations was trying to reach us and that we could call 1 of the 3 extension numbers on the letter or go to the guest relations desk in the lobby. I called down to advise that we had no water or anything in the fridge, they said they would send someone up to fill it. It took almost an hour for someone to finally come.
The next morning, I went straight to the guest relations desk and the lady stated that there was no report logged in their system about the incident that took place and had to make several phone calls to find out what was going on. It turns out that no one actually logged the incident. I then had to wait for their guest relations manager as well as hotel security to come to meet me to take the report (which was supposed to have been done since WEDNESDAY when I originally reported the issue.)
They had me sit down and write out what happened, then the guest relations manager advised me that they reviewed the camera footage and that I did NOT have the do not disturb sign on my door that they could see and that the guy never entered my room.
I was livid. First off, you have 3 people who were in the room and advised this is what happened. Secondly, how exactly did my fridge restock itself on Wednesday in the middle of the day? I asked her if she was calling us liars at this point. I told her that I was not seeking financial gain, I did not say anything was stolen, I did not say anyone assaulted me. I was making them aware of what took place. She then asked me what time the airport transfer was coming to pick us up so that I could come back to meet her in the lobby to view their security footage. I advised her that I was no longer going to waste another second of my trip on this nonsense with them and that I do not trust them at this point or their “security camera†footage as I work in Computer software and I am well aware of what can be done with that footage (especially after almost 3 days have gone by). Unless this was being reviewed by an expert to know that it was not tampered with (since we CLEARLY HAD THREE PEOPLE IN THE ROOM WHEN THE INCIDENT TOOK PLACE), I had nothing else to say to her at this point.
She looked at me and said that was up to me then as she also had nothing else to offer. At this point I asked her to photo copy the report that I had just written that they signed as I do not believe they intended to do anything about it.
The person who was working at the guest relations desk was the ONLY person who took the time to understand what took place and without me having to ask, adjusted my check out time to 5pm so that I didn’t have to be sitting idle while we waited to leave for the airport. Not to mention, she told us that this whole incident report that I was only NOW being asked to fill out with the manager and security was supposed to have been done on WEDNESDAY when the issue took place. NOT days after the fact.
When we were on out way back to the room, there were some hotel staff that were by our villa who overheard us talking and asked me if the guy looked like “this†(they described someone) as they were aware of a fellow who had these incidents reported on him before. I told them no, this guy had braids, and they said they were not sure who that was. This CLEARLY indicates that this has happened several times before, and by their statement, usually by a certain individual who still works there. This entire ordeal seems nothing short of a cover up on their end since no procedures were followed as it should have been AND the fact that other hotel staff said this is a regular occurrence.
As a female – if I had been alone in my room (please keep in mind that I was in the middle of getting dressed) and this took place, what could have happened? It is not unheard of with females reporting assaults taking place on resort grounds or in their rooms. The way this whole thing was handled from beginning to end has completely ruined our trip. I would NEVER book at the GRAND PALLADIUM LADY HAMILTON again.
I have never gone on vacation and LOST weight before. If I could give this place a negative star, I would.
