Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Beach

Noisy , especially if you don't spend a lot more on the Star Prestige package which rooms you on the top 3 levels away from lobby and pool activities and gets you the adults only roof restaurent instead of the earsplitting main buffet

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Awesome resort

The resort was huge and very family oriented. Beautiful white sand turquoise water beach and with the help of our friend Alfredo who provided lounge chairs for us for a small fee. The room was clean, comfortable and everything we needed. Including bottled water and beer in the fridge. We enjoyed the snack bar down at the beach and they provide the best oven roasted pizza and cappuccinos. Don't drink the coffee in the buffet area. not the best.. It was disappointing to see lot's of untouched food taken by people left on the table when the economy is hurting in Cuba. Lots of pools and entertainment if wanted. Hotel Blau Las Morlas Varadero Beach: Excellent Value For The Price

I have no complaints. Everyone must remember this is Cuba, a Third World country. The beach is the best in the world: miles of beautiful sand and gentle turquoise coloured water. There were a couple of hot water interruptions. we had egg shortage at breakfast a few times. All of these things are minor compared to the total experience. You must go there not expecting gourmet dining because you will always get satisfactory food. They grilled pork, chicken, and beef every lunch and dinner. The dessert table has ice cream 100 % of the noon and evening meals. The maid kept the room clean, the heat pump kept the room cool, we got 5 or 6 English TV channels, the toilet flushed properly, room safe worked with no problems, beds were very comfortable, pool was immaculate, grounds were manicured, we do not drink but there was lots to drink, excellent coffee available at the lobby bar 24/7. There were no beach vendors harassing the guests. They had free catamaran services . The Entertainment Team kept people occupied if that is what you like. This holiday was money well spent; if you want steak and lobster, go 5 Star; I am more than happy with 3.5 Star. My wife shares my views.Suggested gifts: hand lotion, baby oil,cooking oil, toiletries, just about anything.

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Very good resort

Excellent beach, no problem with beach lawn chairs. The hotel was clean comfortable. Service was good. Good food, fresh fruit and fruit juices. We would definitely visit again. The only issue was it is an hour away from the airport.

Grand Memories Varadero: Amazing place

Everything was clean. Service was good. No complaints. The grounds were well keep. They went out of their way to serve you. The beaches were amazing. I highly recommend going here. I’m gonna be coming back very soon for the money. You can’t beat it. The people were very friendly. The problem is is a really like American money.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Recommend!

The resort was very well kept and the people were very nice. The rooms itself were older and there were flaws, such as broken knobs, but nothing to discourage your stay. Whatever you do - make sure you take the $5 cab ride to the beach - it will blow you away. The food was okay really, and not bad at all. You will not go hungry. Recommend bringing hot sauce and salt/spices if you can't do bland food but there was an omelette, pasta and pizza stations and a meat and seafood grill. Iberostar Coral Holguin: The best Home-Away-From-Home ever!!

There is really nothing bad to say about this resort except the fact that eventually you have leave! The rooms are large and well decorated and kept spotless. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Don't get me started on the pool! It runs the length of the resort and is crystal clear and inviting. The beach is beautiful and although it is a bit of a walk, the staff will shuttle you back and forth. What can I say about the staff? Well, the staff, in a word is amazing! They are starting to have some great theme nights that are a lot of fun and keep the guests involved. One additional service is the massages ($). You have to try them, they are worth every penny. There are many local excursions ($) available as well. They will pick you up at the front door in either a classic car or a horse and buggy. The choice is yours, and always classic Cuba! Now how about the food you ask? This last trip, I have to say the food was some of the best I have had in Cuba. Large selection, well prepared, well presented and plenty of it. No shortages that I could see. Bottom line, most who try this resort tend to love it and return over and over again. Just do it! You will not be sorry.

Roc Barlovento: Best hotel in town

The food was good. Friendly polite staff. Been 4times to Barlovento and hope to get back again. Love the beach and being right in town is a nice bonus . We also like the on off bus trip and in our younger days we enjoyed snorkeling and scuba diving. The old cars kept our interest as did the horse drawn buggies

Starfish Jibacoa: Starfish Jibacoa is as close as you get to true Cuban culture

Starfish Jibacoa is not a 5 star modern hotel and that’s exactly what I have enjoyed. The staff always greet and treat you with the upmost kindness throughout your stay. Sometimes when the shuttle drops me off and unloads my stuff, I walk 20 feet towards the reception. A quick Hola to reception left of me, walk to the left, 100 feet I arrive at the main small bar (there are only 2 bars, not 5 or more). I order a Spanish coffee, Cervesa and a Pina Colada. I turn to my right and walk 30 feet and I am now on the beach. I continue to walk 200 plus feet towards the ocean stripping off my clothes down to my bathing suit (which I had worn instead of underwear) and swan dive into the ocean. Ahhh! I have arrived to this paradise. (most think I am crazy). Later I will hook into my snorkel gear and swim out to the reef approximately 500 feet off the beach. Next day I connect with the scuba gear and tank and swim under the surface ($30 cdn for a scuba tank). I felt like I could relax and enjoy right with check in and seeing the beach as you walk to your room. If simple, easy and small is what you’re looking for, the Starfish Jibacoa is for you. Dian Rodriguez the public relations manager and his assistant Yanet Hidalgo are always there looking after you.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Great resort

The rooms and hotel are absolutely beautiful. Beaches are excellent and you can take long walks. The staff were also great. The food in the a la carte was delicious at the buffet it was repeat of stuff and wasn't always that great but it's Cuba you always find something to eat. Our fridge wasn't filled once in the week but they did leave water bottles

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Very good resort.

Excellent location. Nice layout and good for seniors. Food Ok but not noteworthy. Would return. Enjoyed peacefulness and sun. Great price. Ariel provided great Bultler service. All staff were great and very friendly.

Melia Cayo Coco: Melia Cayo Coco Feb. 1st 2025

Melia Cayo Coco, Cuban trip was simply amazing. My husband and I would certainly give it a 5++ - the grounds, rooms, lobby, washrooms and buffet was extremely clean. - all 3 meals were very good with a large variety each day. - now, the staff-- they went over and beyond their duties!! with genuine kindness and love. It was always live, soft music with live, top quality entertainment such as violin, guitar and saxaphone music. This was even at the pool in the afternoon. - the beach was clean and they had a bbq. every day at noon. Lots of chairs and not crowded. - this was the best vacation we had been on in years. Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Great Week!

This hotel was beyond our expectations. Our room had such an amazing view of the pools and the beach. It was clean and large in size. The food was amazing with such a great variety at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff are THE BEST! The Cuban people really are the nicest people. Hotel Tuxpan: Great resort

The Hotel was great, plenty of food, clean room, staff was very attentive. I was disappointed that the deeper larger pool was under renovation which wasn’t disclosed until 2days prior to leaving for our vacation, but the resort was not very full so it worked out well.

Sol Varadero Beach: Nice resort

The resort is small and easy to get around. The entertainment staff are very engaged and a lot of fun. The food was good by Cuba standards. Beach is beautiful. There are some great staff members as well.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Could not ask for any thing better.

This is a wonderful resort. would return tomorrow is possible. Staff goes out of their way to help. Always there for you. Things have changed over the years, but never a bad thing to say about anything. Staff try to do everything they can and make up for any short falls.

Resonance Musique Santa Maria: Strongly recommended

My amazing agent O'Neil Graham from Tripcentral tel.800 665 4981 ex7435 booked this resort for me even if not listed on Tripcentral website. The hotel is very friendly for mature clients providing soft, low volume music in swimming pool section. Long beach is good for walking and water is worm due to bay location on Carabean Sea. Ping pong table is shalterd from wind under roof for extra activities apart from horse riding and others. Rooms are renowated with modern, quiet AC. From your room you [... read more] can walk barefoot 40 m to the beach where chairs are waiting for you not being piled up like in many resorts. Food is at least satisfactory , only missing more fresh veggies. I will come again. If you have any issue you can talk to Rudi from customer service who is there whole day and always happy to assist you.

Hotel Deauville: perfect and great location

Had a great week with friendly staff, excellent rooftop pool to recharge and regen in the morning after late nights. My room was simple but very clean and bright and great AC and sleep and shower. Most oustanding was location. Right downtown/central and on the sea with famous havana malecon on our doorstep and everything Havana has rto offer within easy walking distance.. Would highly recommend for those looking fro great value, greta location and comfort. But especially the rooftop pool. Only material thing misssing was a room safe - at least in my room. Blau Varadero: Showing it's age-Disappointed second timer

This is our second time at the Blau. I really loved it last year but this year I found that the resort was showing it's age. We booked Select this year, as we thought we would get a better room. I expected a room on the 12th or 11th floor but got a room on the 9th floor. The view was OK but would have been better on the upper floors and in the middle of the building. There was a roach in one of my dress that was hanging up in the closet. It scared the crap out of me when I put it on. Also, ther [... read more]e was a leak in the hallway in front of my room for over 4 days and there was lots of water. There was also a leak inside our room near our closet which was made it very dangerous to walk. The breakfast at the Select was not cooked properly and it upset our stomach. I was enjoying the ham and cheese at the Snack bar until I got sick and notices it was because the sandwiches were out for many hours in the heat when they should have been stored in a fridge. I was going to go back again next year but I may not unless things improve.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Great Experience

The Grand Aston is a newer resort. It was very clean and modern. The staff were excellent, both friendly and hard working. The food was okay. Lots of repetition but we didn't have any problem finding something to eat. Desserts were great. Fantastic stretch of beach. We didn't spend any time at the pools but they looked very clean. The resort was very well laid out. It didn't take us very long to get to any one spot. We would go back again.
