Grand Memories Varadero: Best Cuba Vacation

Truly enjoyed this vacation! If you love the beach - get Diamond club! Nice service on the beach from Raul. Great Al-la-cartes - Buffett was also very good! Yudenia in Le Gourmet was a Gem, great lady! Jesus in Diamond Club setting in buffet a joy to be served by!! Will go back🥰

This was our 2nd time retuning to this property we had such a great time last time , we decided to bring down all our family . We love the beach and the people . Especially the entertainment team .Alexander from the entertainment team is very deserving of this recognition as he made us feel very special as I know it's his job, but he is very genuine and I feel like he is family. His English gets better every year as we help him on line when we get home too. The way he treats his guests are ama [... read more]zing and very attentive . My heart is so full with the memories we have made and plan to return again in May . But one thing that needs a bit of attention is the rooms , we were missing toilet paper for days and had to get some from the lobby and there were no face cloths and we never got clean towels all week in the room . We had to chase our Maid man and he didn't speak any English either. I know these are smaller things but these things matter . Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Absolutely stunning

This resort is absolutely amazing my first time ever traveling and had my 4year old daughter with me. The people at the resort went out of there way to make sure my daughter and me where happy. I'm already planning my next trip here next year cant reccomend memories flamenco enough

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great time beautiful beach

I had a great time in Cuba and grand memories it it was very beautiful with beautiful beach. The hotel was nice but could have had better service by the maids. The food was quite good I would totally recommend this resort to anyone

Sol Turquesa Beach: Beautiful resort!

Memories in Holguin is a lovely resort! Several levels of pools and stairs that were landscaped and well taken care of. Staff was friendly and helpful and the food was plentiful! It was repetitive but not unexpected. Cooks were friendly and very willing to prepare the food our way. The beach was beautiful! Enjoyed our stay and would recommend this for a pleasant, relaxing vacation.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Ok. Not great.

The rooms were dated and run down as expected for Cuba. The food was not great. My wife got many spider bites in the hotel room which resulted in a trip to the doctor when we got home and a few prescriptions. The beach was beautiful and the staff were excellent and helpful, other than the resort doctor. Drinks were good. Lots for kids to do. The pool was nice. My opinion more like a 3* resort. Decent resort for Cuba.

Resonance Blu Varadero: A wonderful time!

nice clean resort in a beautiful setting! It made us feel safe and at home.Jairus our rep at the Waterloo office made our booking so easy and helpful. We would most certainly book with him again.Just called on him I person to thank him for all his help and expressed to him our future resort bookings with him.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: MEMORIES CARIBE BEACH RESORT

WELL.... WE HAD NO HOT WATER AND KEPT GOING TO FRONT DESK ASKING WHEN WILL WE GET HOT WATER weather was cool and windy, water for swimming was way to cold , putting on sunscreen and bug spray daily we were pretty sticky and really needed a shower, by day 4 i beg for a room for us to have a shower as we were now smelling.. they finaly gave us another room. the whole lane of building were we were also had no hot water,,, patio door the chain bolt was barley in wall so it was an eas [... read more]y break in if some one wanted too... safe in second room didnt work, asked for umbrella was told the next day they will bring one, so we never recieved the umbrella....the hambergers we got first day on our arrival was very grisly and we just could not eat,, ,ON A GOOD NOTE the workers there were fantasticly amazing,, very friendly,,, loved enjoying time with the entertainers so friendly and fun...... waiters and waitresses could not do enough for us they were great and acomidating bar tenders were lots of fun too beaches were pretty but too cold to sit out on and not enough chairs the pool water was very cold yes its there winter there but we still got to sit by the pool and play some games.. there such bubbly and friendly people there.. we just love the cubans... nightly entertainment was awsome... the dancers were dressed properly and not 1/2 naked like other resorts ,, very tastfuly done.... the gardners extreemly friendly make us trinkets to take home from coconut leaves...... some didnt speak to good english BUT HEY..... WERE IN THERE COUNTRY... WE NEED TO SPEAK SOME SPANISH.. EVERY WORKER ON RESORT WAS FABULOUS EXCHANGE RATE WAS EXTREEMLY HIGH $1.68 CANADIAN TO $1.00 PASSO, CRAZY HIGH BRING UR OWN SPICES IF U GO,,,,,, AND SALT...................... BRING HEAVY SWEATER FOR THE COLD DAYS... .. went to the market by taxi.. was good.............. but the market not realy anything to talk about .. not much there 4 floors to walk up and down... some prices were good some were not so great telephones in the rooms dont work we were very concerned what happens if theres an emergency NO PHONE bring ur own alarm clock if u need to be up for any excursions or to catch an early flight back home if u wish to bring them gifts they really like..... back packs.... shoes.. perfumes and colognes,,,, baba's... water bottles..... stick deodarents....jewerly make up....toiletries.....clothing.....as they only get paid $20.00 a month and they work 6 full days a week they cant aford extra's...... there so very appreciative of all gifts.. THESE CUBANS ARE VERY LOVING AND CARING PEOPLE.. PLEASE BE KIND TO THEM..... THERE DOING THERE BEST WITH ALL WHAT THEY HAVE... AND DO THERE BEST TO MAKE UR STAY ENJOYABLE AND TO SEE U SMILE........ WE NEED TO SHOW THESE PEOPLE RESPECT. WE ARE IN THERE COUNTRY.. PLEASE TRY AND LEARN AT LEAST THE BASICS IN SPANISH,,, LIKE... PLEASE, THANK U... MAY I.... Grand Memories Varadero: 2nd time at this resort

This is the second year that I've been to Grand Memories and it was just as good as I remembered. This year I went alone and I had a lovely and relaxing vacation. I was staying in building 11 which is right by what I like to call the "quiet" pool. There were not as many people on this side of the resort so it was nice to relax and read by or jump into the pool to grab a drink at the bar when it was too warm. There aren't many public washrooms around this area, but my room was really close so I w [... read more]ould just go there.The room was alright nothing too fancy, but everything worked and the shower had really good water pressure. Since my room was on the main floor I had a lovely balcony where I could sit outside and get the sun in the evening. The buffets are okay. I could always find something to eat but the food is definitely bland. Make sure to make reservations for the a la carte restaurants they were hands down the best meals that I had during my stay (I've had the gourmet, asian) You should also utilize the snack bar which is open 24h a day and serve burgers/sandwiches/fries etc. It was nice to unplug for the majority of the trip but if you are looking for internet it is only available in the lobby and cuban bar (much better in the bar) not very reliable but it works. You need to buy cards at the desk in the lobby (1 peso/hour) The shows were the exact same as last year which kind of sucked since I knew what was going to happen. I still recommend checking them out especially the Grease one. I didn't spend a lot of time at the beach this trip though it was really nice (but quite busy). Everyone I know that has gone (Been twice, my parents twice, my sister, a family friend) has really enjoyed the resort. The workers are very friendly and it's really easy to find things, and for the price you can't go wrong! I will probably return sometime in the near future!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Awesome resort!

We loved thr resort Johnny and jandy at buffet were great! Angel at beach bar was rude! Over all a great place! The sports was nice and Micheal and Edwardo served great drinks liked the Mohito!! Ocean was suberb very nice and clean matbe should have drinks delivered to people .

Grand Memories Varadero: Very Disappointed

Hotel staff needs to realize that without tourist they have no jobs. They say that they survive on tips but good customer service is what gets you good tips. We paid for a "superior " room, not sure what there definition of superior is. Very tired looking room. Need to be painted, stained or dirty walls. Sliding doors very dirty. Mold in the bathtub area. My mother had a difficult time getting into the tub, very high. Poor lighting in the bathroom area.

I have been to this hotel 5 times now and this past week Feb 5-13 wow what a disappointment this place has gone from a 4 star to a 2 star. Diamond club is a total joke why both paying when just anyone can use the diamond clue areas. Broken phone, broken tv, the exact same things for breakfast lunch and dinner every single day. No bread hamburgers and hotdogs with no buns. The left over chicken from dinner is the protein you get for breakfast. No bacon or sausage. Sol Turquesa Beach: Fun in the sun but Nothing fancy

Very family oriented resort. Always able to find a chair by the pool and beach. Food was surprisingly better than expected. Highly recommend the Rice Pudding!!! Staff was friendly and helpful! Wifi available in the lobby and always worked. Definitely would recommend. The decor was dated but if you’re not picky about that then this shouldn’t be looked over.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Beach was beautiful

Resort needs work. Out of the 7days, had hot water for 2, a trickle of hot water for 1 day and last day there was no water at all. Paid for up grade on room ( hot water not included). Thanks to a fellow guest found out there was a special promotion on a new hotel that just opened. So jumped on that. So the remainder of our holidays were great. For memories Caribe, they are working on the well needed repairs. Food was decent, Do not expect gourmet. Service was good.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great experience

Just returned from Memories Flamenco, cayo coco. We had an amazing time there. Rooms are a bit dated but clean. Staff are very friendly and knowledgable. Pools were clean. Beach was stunning. Food is palatable for cubian food but bring peanut butter, ketchup and some snacks to help you through. Entertainment staff great at their jobs. Loved the shows. Would definately return to this resort.

Memories Jibacoa: Friendly, Small Jibacoa

This was our first visit and we enjoyed our stay.The resort is not large, with only about 200 rooms and nicely laid out. There are 18 two-floor units, all within easy walking distance to the pool, beach and restaurants. The crowd tends to be older, mostly couples in the 55+ group. Pros: Friendly, helpful staff, all of whom spoke excellent English. Very good snorkelling right off the beach. Lots of beach chairs, palupas and shade, if needed. No need to rush down early to 'reserve' a spo [... read more]t. Like all resorts, this is frowned upon anyway. A la Carte restaurants excellent and not that busy, which surprised us. Buffet is above average for Cuba. Excellent location - you can actually get off the resort, unlike some all-inclusives. Hike up the hill behind the resort for a great view (offered every day at 9 am), visit a local farm or nearby restaurant for an authentic Cuban meal (only 15 pesos CUC). Havana is only one hour away. Hire a vintage cab for the day (90 pesos CUC) or a guided tour thru the hotel or Sunwing at 45 CUC pp. Wonderful entertainment - traditional Cuban acoustic (Buena Vista style) in the lobby before dinner and Tropicana style shows by the pool at night. Smoking, while allowed in designated areas, is minimal. We've been to other resorts in Cuba & Mexico where you can't escape the smell of cigarettes. No problems exchanging $$ at the front desk. Sunwing rep Marina is a joy. Cons: As often posted, rooms are dated and a bit 'beat up', but clean. Very poor water pressure - don't expect a good shower. Fitness club really tired - very old weight machines (likely from the Soviet era) were mostly broken. One of the two treadmills was out of service. Wished there was more yoga offered - only one class at 9am when breakfast was being served. The ocean and beach were plagued with jellyfish during our stay. Lifeguards would whistle everyone out for large portions of the day (we saw one elderly woman get stung, to much distress). Not sure if this is an ongoing problem at this beach or a random/seasonal occurrence. The beach and entrance to the water is a bit rocky. While great for snorkelling this is not one of those smooth, soft sand beaches for long, leisurely walks (it's hard to have it all).

Beach was most beautiful. Pool was nice. I enjoyed the entertainment. Room was clean and comfortable. Food was ok as well. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way all the time to make sure I was happy!

The hotel and the grounds are beautiful. Our room was clean and comfortable. The entertainment staff went above and beyond to make sure everyone was have a great time. The waiters at the buffet were wonderful and could not do enough to make sure you had everything you needed. We had a great time and would definitely return.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Less then perfect!

We’ve been to Cuba at least a dozen times, and this resort really disappointed us. We were aware before hand of the flour shortages recently but it went way beyond that. I’ve had better food at 2* resorts. We also had the water shut off for a full day, you can just imagine the smell everywhere from not being able to flush toilets. Totally unacceptable. Grand Memories Varadero: As expected it was great

I came back yesterday for a 4 days short Hollidays. I have no expectations when travelling to Cuba. I traveled to Cuba several times. Grand Memories Varadero was better than I expected. Room was very basic, and it was clean, the food was great. I usually don't eat a lot at the resort cause Im scared to get sick or don't like the taste, but this time I gained 4 pounds.
