Crown Paradise Club Cancun: great family resort
Kids club and water slides were great and loved by by kids. The burgers and fries at the poolside snack bar were great. Also, crapes station at LA Palapa was great. Mechanical Bull st Wayne's Booths ! Overall a great value for the family.
Barcelo Maya Palace: good and bad
rooms, grounds, pools, staff, all top notch. A bit windy for most of the week so ocean swimming was poor (red flags) Plenty of fish to swim with, and a turtle or three. Not much in the way of "Mexican" food. And what was there, was rather bland. Buffet food was good, but rather repetitive after a week. I did not like being "nickle and dimed" Room service was "free" but you had to pay for delivery. Had to pay to use "Bali" beds. Room info book said you could have the mini bar refilled whenever yo [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing Resort
Bahia Principe Akumal has it all! Great location, good food, comfortable and clean accommodation, entertainment nightly, great staff and very secure. Along with the ability to choose the other 3 hotel amenities is a bonus.
Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Third visit and even better!
The a la carte restaurants available to Sian Ka'an guests are essentially unlimited. Meal presentation at every dinner was very classy and selection was really varied. Our ONLY complaint for the week was that the housekeeping was sometimes slow or incomplete.
Riu Emerald Bay: amazing resort
The resort itself is very nice. The front desk staff was extremely helpful, especially Elizabeth Vega and Alejando Zamudjo! Thanks for helping us! The entires stay was perfect. Only downside was the ocean conditions, too rough to swim, and we new that going in. Many thanks for the most relaxing holiday!
Las Brisas Huatulco: Great Resort
We were at this resort Jan 29 to Feb 6 2016 Very good food. Excellent staff service - very friendly and accommodating. Clean rooms and nice bathroom. Although all the resort rooms are on a hill with many steps and walk-ways, they run "golf carts" that can take you anywhere on the resort and they come within minutes when called. If you have trouble walking, this may not be a suitable resort . Great snorkelling off the beach with-in the safe swimming area.
Las Brisas Huatulco: Very nice resort!
This was a very nice resort. However there were steps everywhere as it is built on a hillside. You could call a cart to take you from place to place. But you still had to do some steps. From our room it was about 30 steps up to get to the roadway. Overall a very nice place.
Playa Azul: Quiet and small
Very quiet hotel with great staff. Beach in front of hotel is small with some rocks, but can easily enter with no problem. Snorkelling right of the beach. Buffet breakfast with our plan was delicious with lots of variety. All rooms appear to have ocean views. Beds were very comfortable. Only negative was lack of small fridge in rooms.
Las Brisas Huatulco: Las Brisas Hotel, Hualtuco Mexico
This hotel is lovely in a simple way. I suggest making good use of the cart service which will take you to your room or lobby. Walking to the beach or restaurant is walking downhill which is easy but walking up to your room is a real work out. The beach is awesome and if you are early to clam your spot you can be sure to have a great spot. The water was warm and you can snorkel right off the beach. The food was a disappointment the buffet was usually dried out and the food lacked variety. At the [... read more]
Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Nice resort
I've been to half dozen 4 star resorts in the Maya and this was one of the best of them . The grounds were very well kept as well as pools and buildings. Rooms were nice ,with best stocked fridge I've seen. Food was very good as well. The beach was nice , but the ocean itself was dirty ( Sandy) 3 of my 7 days ( I still went in ) . I've read alot of bad reviews but I say good bang for my buck . Some people got ridiculous standards and that ain't me
Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Snorkler's Delight
This is our second time to ABR, the first was about 15 years ago. Every trip to the area, we end up cabbing back here to snorkel, so we decided to stay at ABR again. Renos were great, as was the snorkelling!
Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Best resort ever
Great beaches - no seaweed, warm, shallow water...lots of room to relax in different beach areas. Can go snorkeling and kayaking right there. Five-star buffet, great restaurants and quality shows every night.
Azul Ixtapa Resort: Great,Clean,friendly, resort
Oyster Bar, and the Medetranian restaurant was a five star plus, Disco great, but was only open Friday Saturday and Sunday. Grounds was well maintained . Children's water play area well thought out GREAT. Swimming area's and beach had life guards on duty all day untill Seven PM. Never been to a resort that had so many public bathrooms. And we have been traveling for over fifty years. beach hard dark sand, mud like. The island Ixtapa beaches are beautiful only a boat ride away only four dollars, A [... read more]
Las Hadas by Brisas: Wonderful Place !!
My wife and I have traveled South three to four times every winter. But it was the first time to the West of Mexico. We think we found a treasure this time. Las Hadas has given us a great impression. Staffs are all nice and kind, and foods and meals are great. Room is clean and well maintained. Beach is not crowded and we enjoyed very comfortable and relaxed time. Sea water is clear enough to do snorkeling and we have enjoyed it everyday to play with lots of beautiful fishes at the just beside o [... read more]
Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: What a fabulous trip!
From the moment we arrived we were treated better than we likely deserve. The staff were wonderful, the grounds well kept and lush, and the washrooms and public areas were always clean. The food was terrific, lots of variety on the buffet and the a la carte choices were plentiful. My wife needs assistance sometimes and uses a walker. Staff were very courteous, accommodating and helpful when necessary. The resort is very quiet, there were some games at the pool but it was a very quiet crowd overa [... read more]
Riu Playacar: Fantastic Resort!
The RIU Playacar was a small beautiful resort. We were there from Jan 16th - 27th, 2016. The resort staff were outstanding, From the cleaning staff to bartender's and CSR staff. With this resort you can use 3 of the 5 other RIU's as well. The grounds were well maintained, food was outstanding, and being a $8 dollar ( US ) cab ride from downtown Playa Del Carmen ( 5min drive ) was a bonus! The rooms were very well cleaned. The hotel was renovated, I think for the better! I was very hesitant to go [... read more]
Villablanca Huatulco: Wonderful holiday
Wonderful hotel in the best location. Terrific breakfasts of real mexican food. Beds were comfy and the hotel has a charming Mexican decor that did not have that chain hotel feel at all. Taxis waiting to take you anywhere right outside the hotel or it was easy walking to either town or the beach club.
The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Top notch resort
The hotel was beautiful and the grounds extremely well kept. Very nicely landscaped. Pools amazing, food was incredible with lots of variety. Didn't care for the steak much though. The Italian restaurant was dynamite! Everything do flavourful with fresh herbs and spices. Sea Olive had the best calamari. We stayed in the newer section 15 and had the smallest room in the complex. The room was modern and clean and the bed was super comfortable. Not much space in there and not much room for luggage [... read more]
Binniguenda Huatulco: Lovely place to stay
Small, quiet hotel with very friendly staff. Nice pool area and beach access. Delicious food at the buffet. Would be happy to return. Evening shows. Staff very helpful and able to speak English. Perfect location.
Azul Ixtapa Grand Resort: Excellent resort
The grounds, pools, restaurants, and especially the room was excellent. The service we received was top notch, and the people providing the service were pleasant and very helpful. The food for the most part was very good.
