My wife and I visited Barceló for our baby moon. We doth were impressed with how clean and beautiful the resort was. The food was great and the perks of being a premium guest was well worth it. The view and the beaches were beautiful. And I can not stop talking about the HUGE king size bed. I need it. I want it. I will have it. Thanks for wonderful memories.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: STAY AWAY
This is not a resort it's an old hotel. The food is so horrible you will have to go find food off resort. Cold, bland, no selection. Service in the buffets is horrible.
Block 2 has a smoking section in front of it, great view of ocean but rooms are so old they are bad. Showers look disgusting, furniture handles fell off. And the noise from the pool area and night entertainment. And on the door side is street delivery trucks, cars thinking, dogs barking and music from the theatre till 1030pm.
[... read more]Block 3 is blocked by Block 1 but you will hear the theatre and the street and the pool noiseand shouting from microphone.
The drinks unless u drink beer I never once had a buzz even after 10 mango margaritas..I don't drink tequila and if at home wowzer I'd be knocked out...but never did I once feel a buzz...so drink away those water drinks.
No wifi unless you sit in lobby or lobby in block 4
Line up for a la carte every morning at 7am as the app doesn't work fir many people...good luck getting one at all.
Entertainment was karaoke
Mariachi band
Trivia
Unless you head to the theatre to see shows which were ok.
Pools are clean and nice temp
Beach was nice you can walk to Bucerias it's not far
Prices in Bucerias are Gringo prices compared to other parts of mexico. Grocery store is expensive same prices as Canada..no savings
Gotta get up at 6am to get a chair in the shade..good luck
Get the InDrive app it's cheaper to book a ride with them
Bucerias-PV cab is 550peso
Indrive 250peso
If you head to a restuarant or bar like jax the martini is $14 cad
Went to a nice Italian restuarant on the water meal was $100 cad and that was with no drinks.
Paco taco you can get a meal there for $10
The street bus on highway to sayulita was 30 peso each
Avoid this resort save your cash and visit PV...you won't need cab and more nicer hotels.

Allegro Cozumel: Beautiful location!
A beautiful location, beautiful beach and great snorkeling right from the resort. The resort was perfect for our multi generation vacation. Small enough to walk easily and find each other. Lots of deck chairs available around the pools and on the beach, never had a problem finding shady or sunny spots to relax. Tons of activities for all ages pool and beach volleyball, pool games, cornhole, darts, bingo and so much more. A games room for evening fun and entertaining shows. Food was good, buffet[... read more] was a bit repetitive but good and there was always a chef cooking a different fresh option each night. The a la carte meals were fantastic. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were small and a little dated, but kept clean and beds were comfortable. Each porch had hammock which was a nice touch. Cozumel airport was small and really easy to arrive at, only about 20mins to the resort.

Riu Santa Fe: Nice resort
Nice, very well organized, but very busy resort. Due to the crowding, the resort is not clean enough. There are too many guests, so the restaurants and pools are crowded. The quality and selection of food is great. The staff works hard.

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: An outstanding vacation
Grounds are beautiful, neatly manicured and clean. Rooms were updated, well thought out and comfortable. We backed onto a quiet mangrove on the north side of the resort in a King room. The resort does not provide screens on the sliding door which they recommend be kept closed due to wildlife. A Nespresso coffee machine a bar fridge filled with water, soft drinks, beer and snacks was a welcome addition. Got cream for the coffee from the coffee shop a couple of times. Food was generally very goo[... read more]d to excellent but could vary from day to day. Bar service around the pool was excellent. We rented bala beds for three days. Service was very friendly and top notch. They make a real effort to make sure you are happy. Coffee shop and staff were excellent. Treats and sandwiches available there were tasty. Buffet usually featured a theme like Mexican, Italian, French etc. Food was generally tasty but inconsistent and staff friendly. Coffee was better at the coffee shop. I enjoyed the smoothies in the morning and the omelets were popular. We could always find plenty to eat. Only downside is that the meat quality was sometimes not up to the standards set by the rest of the resort. The resort has three elevators. One was down all week. Thankfully the one in our building worked as we were on the third floor. If you smoke, no smoking allowed on balconies but they have two small smoking areas, one at the front of the resort and another near the beach. Smokers were underwhelmed by the smoking areas. There was always several types of entertainment available during the daytime from aqua fitness to games, acrobats, pickleball, beach volleyball and a supervised trip to a cenote area, etc. The resort had a very good entertainment team. Drinks were above average but mixes tended to be sugary. Like in many resorts, real juice was often a struggle to get. Many top shelf brands available but Jägermeister was nowhere to be found. Snack bar on the beach had delicious options - the Zilara burger and fries were very tasty after the cenote walk.. Lolas beach front restaurant was pleasant and offered seafood with a Mexican flair. We had a late dinner at the Capri Grille (Italian) on the first night and everything was five star including presentation, food quality and taste. Interestingly, during our last night, the Capri Grille was subpar by contrast. The parmesan was missing from the previously delicious risotto and it was sitting in water. My New York Strip steak was undercooked to my medium well done ask and mainly fat. Only 20% was edible. I should have returned it for replacement or alternative The caprese salads were much larger and inconsistently cut so it seems the staffing in the kitchen was far less capable than the first night (vacation? holiday weekend?). Pool was clean but a tad cool (we did have some below average temperature nights) and the resort is on the best stretch of beach in the local area. Unfortunately, Sargassum arrived one month early this year which made ocean swimming hit and miss. They do however do a great job of keeping the beach clean. Loungers were always available as long as you didn't want to be on the edge of the pool and towels were usually neatly laid out in the morning so we fortunately didn't have to deal with towels or a towel card. A nice touch. The resort is adults only and is a quaint smaller size. We enjoyed our trip and would go back if we can get a similar off season deal. Otherwise, the resort is a bit on the expensive side. Apart from the freshly renovated rooms and infrastructure, the staff stands out for their friendliness, service orientation and attention to details. Every single interaction with staff was commendable, a feature which definitely sets the resort apart.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Love this Place!
We spent a week here beginning March 30th. The vibe here is relaxation which is exactly what we wanted. The resort was full but never felt crowded. There was no need for the towel game, although I cannot speak for the main pool area as we spent our time at the beach. The food was good - some things were GREAT. We liked the gourmet and Lima the best. Live music in the evenings was wonderful, and the staff, well, they make the place - so friendly, smiling, and hard working. I won't name any names [... read more]because I may forget someone. There was seaweed/sargassum while we were there, but they work tirelessly to clear it, and it did not deter us from the water. It was windy as well, but that meant we could hear the waves crashing even from our room at night. This resort is very clean everywhere. Our room was spacious and 3 feet from the sand. We hope to go back again, possibly in the fall. If I have to pick something to complain about, it's that Sunwing had us at the airport 4 hours before our flight, and then there was a delay as well, but that's travel! We may book our own ride to the airport next time.

Ocean Maya Royale: Just what we needed !
Air Transat missed our arrival and didn't have a shuttle for us when we arrived. The team at the airport sorted this out in a friendly way, reassured us and found a transfer but it started off with us wondering if the resort knew we were coming.
This is an older resort that has been well maintained. We do recommend and would return. Grounds are clean, beach cleaned daily, pool and food(great buffet options) is all close walking distance. Very friendly staff.
Feedback for areas to improve[... read more] for hotel is communication- We were told at check in that the buffet was open everyday over our 10 nights.
Then they closed it Monday, Wednesday and Friday "unexpectedly" . The worst part is we only found out Monday when we arrived to eat at buffet at 6:30pm hungry - then were told we needed to wait for an a la carte option seat, they were busy. We specifically asked why it was closed and they just said the buffet was closed "just today" and no reason given "just tonight". We ended up eating very late due to this, but willing to let it go as we thought maybe they were doing deep cleaning or an equipment failure.
Then on Wednesday the same thing happened ! No notice and it is clear they planned this for some time due to low occupancy. They do not seem to have any compassion for the guests time / planning and being hungry! Furthermore, we have allergies and then limited to only one option for a la carte. We were seated at 8pm and waited a long time for food. Other guests were only seated at 9pm and had showed up at 7:30pm and probably ate at 10pm. Guests were not happy. Your servers and hostesses should be commended on how well they tried to manage things. They were put into a situation that was obviously out of their control from hotel management.
Friday we planned accordingly as another guest told us it would happen again. Thankfully the guest had told us! We made sure to be at the a la carte at 5:30pm to get 6pm seating so we weren't left to eat so late like the other 2 nights. We then ordered double steak as we can only eat the small starter salad as appetizers and cant eat dessert , they gave it to us and still friendly but is embarrassing and makes you feel a pig or greedy for steak & veggies but the portions are so small, we needed food to fill us.
Maybe they put something on the hotel online app and that's how other guests knew - but no one checks the app unless you are privilege. There is no need for the app as you can not reserve a la carte restaurants unless you are privilege. over 80% are regular guests staying.
Please consider sushi without cream cheese - a nice shrimp , avocado etc.
Lastly the locals are permitted to sell their "goods" up around the pool bar and seen daily getting beer and food and friendly with the pool towel staff. No other resorts allow this and at other places security keeps them out on the beach. Of course, this is a touchy thing to complain about as we do not want any trouble in Mexico as it seems they are more than welcome. They come at the same time daily so, maybe set them up with a vendor table or have them wear uniforms like the massage people.
All that said the small resort with such friendly staff , great buffet and cafe - we would recommend and would return.
Check-In & Room
Check-in was smooth even though we arrived on a full bus. The Hideaway has its own separate check-in area, which was a nice touch and helped speed things up. We didn’t use Diamond Club, just stayed in a regular room, which was clean and spacious. It did face the mangrove swamp (not the ocean or resort), but honestly, we didn’t spend much time in the room or on the balcony anyway. The jet tub in the room didn’t work that great and took a long time to fill, but everything else was[... read more] solid — room was cleaned daily, towels replaced, minibar always stocked. No towel animals or extras, but everything was comfortable.
Food & Drinks
We tried quite a few restaurants and Dorado and Hunter’s Steakhouse were our favorites. We also did the Zen teppanyaki dinner, which was definitely worth it — awesome food and a fun show. The buffet was good, especially for breakfast, but the omelet station always had a bit of a line. I kept it simple with bacon, eggs, and toast most mornings.
Drinks were top-notch — we tried tons of different cocktails, but the passionfruit margarita stood out. Bartenders were friendly and creative, and we never had trouble finding something new to try.
Pools, Gym & Activities
The pools were awesome. We stuck to the same one most days — close to the main pool but still chill. Servers came around nonstop with drinks, and tipping early in the day definitely helped keep the drinks flowing. I hit the gym a few times too — it's really well-equipped and clean. We didn’t try the spa because the prices were outrageous.
One of the highlights was our trip to Isla Mujeres. We rented a golf cart, toured the island, and spent some time eating and drinking at a beach club. The food there was amazing and it was such a cool way to explore the area at our own pace.
Service & Vibe
The staff were all fantastic — especially the servers around the pool. They were super attentive and kept the energy fun and relaxed, even if things weren’t always lightning fast (they have a lot of people to serve). A little tip goes a long way. The overall vibe of the resort was whatever you wanted it to be — chill, party, romantic — a good mix of everything.
Beach
Only real downside was the beach. The waves were rough during our stay and the seaweed situation wasn’t great. There was a big pile of it you had to climb over just to get to the water, which kind of killed the beach vibe.
Overall
All in all, it was a fantastic trip and we’d definitely consider going back — especially for the pools, drinks, food, and overall atmosphere. Just don’t go in expecting perfect beach days, and you’ll have a blast.

Third time visiting this resort and continues to offer good value for adults only resort. Excellent service and friendly staff. Planet Hollywood Adult Scene Cancun by Royalton: 3/5
Would give this hotel a 7/10- butlers are attentive, rooms are clean, lots of dining options. Where it loses points is the lack of umbrellas, crappy drinks, lack of poolside loungers, disgusting room service, and not great service even for those with VIP (star class). We had a decent time, but would choose a different resort next time.

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Resort was beautiful!
The resort was beautiful! Rooms are nice, clean. The grounds are very clean and very pretty. The staff are very friendly. The lazy rivers, pools and slides were great! The food was ok. Zen Tappenyaki and Rio were wonderful and the service there was great! Score Sport Bar however, the service was terrible and the food was also not great. We waited a long time before we were asked about drinks and then it took 25-35 minutes before we got our food, which was cold and terrible.
We also wanted t[... read more]o mention that the coffee place was supposed to be open 24hrs, but was not. They were frequently out of the regular coffee. They should definitely have more than 1 "regular" coffee station or a 2nd station on the other side of the room. There was more than enough room for that.
We also didn't realize that you had to pay for the "extras" like bowling, laser tag. We thought that it should be included for the price of the hotel. And same with the use of the tennis or other sport area. This was only available to you if you were a Diamond Club Member.
Over all, we did enjoy our stay.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Nice Resort
We really enjoyed our vacation, the resort was beautiful and everyone was so nice. The only thing I didn't like was the unlimited al a carts, I didn't know that you had to reserve 10 days in advance on their app. So we didn't get to experience the specialty restaurants.:(
