Ocean Maya Royale: Beautiful Resort but room for improvement
Ocean Maya Royale is beautiful, grounds and beach/beachfront are immaculate and they work tirelessly to remove the sargassum that was plentiful due to a few red flag days. The pools are clean and warm. The food is generally ok though a fairly routine buffet. Breakfast was the best though line-ups for eggs are long with only one station. I recognize being a small resort limits the number of a la cartes but there aren’t many to choose from. The entertainment could be improved with more music offer [... read more]
Ocean Maya Royale: Great resort, bad beach
I loved the resort in general, very clean!! Rooms are spacious and comfortable. I didn’t touch the beach water, filled with seaweed you cant even swim. The food was good. I only got to try the mexican restaurant which got us sick. The open buffet was great, very good selection. Its very hard to reserve a table in the japanese restaurant. Staff were the nicest ever!!! They have activities throughout the days and it will never disappoint. I would give 3.8/5 just because of the food thing that mess [... read more]
Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Great Place
We stayed for 10 days at the beginning of March. The location is excellent. One block from 5th avenue. The resort was clean, staff was friendly, food was excellent whether you went to the a la carte or buffet, and the rooms were spacious. We had no problem booking a la carte restaurants. We went to the restaurants 6 out of the 10 nights. One night we did the romantic lobster dinner. Highly recommend to pick the gazebo option. We went at 6:30 which was a perfect time to watch the sun go d [... read more]
Barcelo Maya Tropical: Barcelo Maya Tropical
This resort was always clean and tidy. Overall, it was huge and this required a lot of walking to get anywhere. This made it inconvenient, especially for anyone who might have trouble walking longish distances. I would not recommend this resort to seniors and would not go back myself for this reason. I found that there was not much variety in the food in the buffets from one day to the next.
Barcelo Maya Tropical: Great pools and beach, terrible buffet food
The beach was beautiful and cleaned well of seaweed. The water was sparkling turquoise and warm. The sand was soft as silk. The pools were clean and the perfect temperature and depth. We especially loved the kids water park area at Tropical as we travelled with a six year old. It was dissapointing that we had to wake up at 5am each day run down to save loungers. One day we didn’t and had to sit on the ground, surrounded by unused, yet claimed loungers. There has got to be a better system f [... read more]
El Dorado Casitas Royale: Nice resort
This resort is very nice and lush. The rooms were very clean and stocked. The people were very helpful and friendly. The only downside is there is no buffet at night you need to make reservations at the restaurants at the beginning of your stay and if you miss the reservation you get charged 10.00 per person. The breakfasts had good variety, the dinners were just ok. Also, if you go to the resort presentation it takes over 2 hours, not the 1 hour they told us. they are very pushy and aggressive [... read more]
Dreams Natura Resort and Spa: Would not come back to this resort
Our family was at the Dreams Natura March 18-25, 2024. The resort was beautiful but there were some issues that had I known, would have changed my mind to vacation at this resort. We travel with our kids (9 and 12) yearly to a 5 star resort. We always try new resorts every year and this was our first Dreams. I will start with the cons. There are not nearly enough chairs for the number of people at this resort. I went down the first day at 7:25am and I walked the entire pool area and found the l [... read more]
Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Awesome resort
It’s an awesome resort . Everything was perfect. The staff were very friendly and professional. The rooms were very clean. The buffets were very good . We had a lot of choices . Food were very tasteful. The restaurants “A la carte “were very good . The entertainment staff was amazing . We had an incredible just dance show on Friday night . We also Enjoyed the landscaping. Beautiful plants . We will come back for sure .
Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Perfect family holiday!
This resort has wonderful service, it's very clean, the rooms are large and the beds super comfy! Its about 30 minutes from the airport and there is not much nearby but you can go to Puerto Morelos in a taxi in about 10 minutes. We went on a catamaran tour to Isla Mujeres which was excellent. I traveled with my 16 and 13 year old sons who loved the resort especially the pools and wildlife around the resort. It was 32 celcius every day. Shows and daily entertainment were fantastic. The food was t [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Wonderful resort
The staff at this resort are amazing. They are always smiling, friendly and will go the extra mile. The grounds are beautifully maintained and are constantly being worked on. The rooms are maybe a little dated, but spacious and clean. Beds are very comfortable. We will definitely be back
Catalonia Yucatan: Just Ok
First thing's first; This is not a 4 star hotel. No more than 2. The establishment requires some serious renovations. We had ants in our washroom, a decorative pillow had a stain. Other than that the AC worked well and the bed was comfortable. The food was good, but we weren't fans of the restaurant booking system. You have to go online at 8am to book. If you get on there at 9, you'll end up at the buffet that night. Staff are all amazing and kind. The beach was small and rocky, but the snorke [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Amazing resort!
The Grand Coba in Mayan Riviera, Mexico was top notch! It met all our expectations when it comes to dining, pools, cleanliness, staff and more! The food was exceptional with all sorts of choices and something for everyone. The pools were big and clean and always had chairs available to lay on. The a la carte restaurants were delicious and so was the buffet! The only downfall is the beach is a 5 min ride on golf cart from the resort and it isn’t walking distance.
Catalonia Riviera Maya: Nice resort
This smaller resort had a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Food was very good, although the 8:00am restaurant booking system was extremely frustrating. Beach was a bit rocky and limited access to walk and entry access. Entertainment was good but late to start at 9:30pm each evening. Also, no alcohol service after 11:00pm, aside from the disco, which was very loud including the lobby bar, which also faced roadside).
Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Bahia Principe Grand Coba - just the resort we were looking for.
This resort was worth the long drive to/from the airport. The staff was friendly, the grounds were beautiful, and the rooms spacious. The pool had enough shaded areas for me, and lots of sun for my spouse. We enjoyed hanging out at the 'quiet' pool. The other pool had the activities for those who wanted to partake. It was also a convenient shuttle down to the Coba beach. On a 7 day stay, you could book 3 a-la-cart restaurants. We ended up just doing the buffet as it was convenient for us, and th [... read more]
Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Terrible resort
Poorly managed hotel. Unable to get reservations unless you wait in line for 3 hours at 7 am in the morning. Very dirty rooms along with the horrible smell in the rooms. Not enough staff and the staff they do have many of them are rude especially at the front desk. The beach has to be one of the worst beaches in the area. All rock and very dangerous. Would not recommend to anyone
Barcelo Maya Palace: Amazing resort with lots to offer for everyone
Third time to the Barceló Maya. It never disappoints. We always have the most incredible booking experience with Tripcentral wit the exception of this last time. Sandra Taylor is rude and never gets back to you. I asked her twice for a hotel close to Pearson and never, ever got back to me. I gave up. Then, I called her with questions regarding the Mexico tax and she was rude. Never use this agent. Karol and Wendy Van Z are the best. Highly professional and kind.
Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Great place
A very comfortable and stylish complex of buildings, pools and walkways. Rather narrow, but pleasant beach with umbrellas and sun beds. The water at the shore not very transparent due to waves stirring the sand. Some floating seaweeds. The coral reef about 1 km off the shore, available by motor boats on snorkeling trips, around U$ 65 per person. Also kayaks and catamarans for rent (free). Enough restaurants and food to please anybody. The resort located within one hour from Cancun airpo [... read more]
Barcelo Maya Colonial: Good week at the Barcelo
Resorts is very clean. I found the quality of the food in buffet has declined over the past two years. Ala carts are very good.Kyoto and Brassiere were my favourites. The beach area is best in front of the Maya Beach. The Nexus transportation was poorly organized upon arrival. We waited for over an hour for a shuttle to leave airport. The return trip was perfect timely and comfortable.
Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: This resort is just fine
The service, food, and room are all good, but the entertainment is poor. The beach, pools, and location did not meet my expectations. I would not recommend it to a friend who loves and enjoys the beach as I do. I went into the water with a pair of rubber shoes (Crocs) for just 5 minutes and got hurt by sharp rocks. That was the first and also the last time I went into the water during my stay.
Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Not so great
We were very disappointed with this Royalton experience. We have been to several but the things we expected as diamond you don’t get here. Everyone is mixed together- no diamond on the beach , no food service on the beach - shows are boring and short. We wouldn’t recommend this resort. There is up charge for everything- bowling, laser tag and decent wine. It’s too bad the employees are not treated properly and the management team lacks professionalism. The employee turnover is extremely high [... read more]
