Paradisus Los Cayos: A Wonderful Vacation At A Beautiful Resort
Paradisus Los Cayos is an absolutely beautiful resort that was laid out in a very customer friendly manner: The rooms are attractively designed, with a bathtub in the middle of the floor. And no mold, no unsightly wear. Hey the resort is only a year old! And our residence had easy access to the buffet restaurant and to the main office and lounge. Moreover each residential building had a canal like swimming pool running alongside it. So it was very enjoyable to walk out onto our patio and hop in [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: 5 Star Hotel for Cuba
This hotel was very good in all aspects. Hotel, rooms, pool and grounds were spotless. Beach was lovely other than one windy day blew a lot of seaweed in and I don't believe it was cleaned up right away. Food was good, not comparable to a 5 Star in other countries but they did their best to provide what they could. We had prime rib, roasted pig, pasta station, salads, desserts, etc. Four al a cartes were offered, two which we did not really enjoy and the other 2 were great. Only thing miss [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Cuba a beautiful gem of a resort. A royal paradise beside the ocean
Paradisus Princessa del Mar it was our 3rd time there. Its still our favorite in all of Cuba. You can eat off the floor basically everywhere. We had the juniour Royal suite. I think it was just built. Very clean and well maintained. This time the food was excellent!! Lobster and scampi's was served 4 times in less than a week. Shrimp practically every day. All the staff was EXTREMELY polite and went out of there way to serve us. The waitresses in Mira Mar restaurant were great and anti [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Beautiful resort
The suites were clean & fresh. The housekeeper created cute towel animals daily for our bed. Fresh towels daily, which is nice. Staff couldn't do more for you. I broke my wrist while I was there, the Resort Doctor & Nurse were so helpful getting me to the hospital and the follow-up care. The food was top notch and the selection was wonderful. I definitely would go back. The grounds were well maintained and clean. The pool & the beach was well cared for. there wasn't a lack of pool chairs or s [... read more]
Memories Cayo Largo: Excellent resort, but waiter service needs improvement.
Hotel still excellent despite age. Grounds, rooms, common areas well kept. Don't like new grey colour and white outdoor lamps. Prefer coloured cabins, terracotta lamps. Food servers don't spend enough time continuing to fill water and wine glasses, or getting tables ready, or seating guests in buffet. Often when replenishing soup or juice didn't notice there were no spoons, bowls or glasses. So food but no utensils. No eggs, cheese for several days. Service at special dinners excellent [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: Best beaches
Better than expected. Would have liked better hours at the fitness centre by the beach. Yoga classes should have a proper instructor and were only 20 to 30 mins long. Food was varied but preparation needs some tweaking. Overall the staff aimed to please.
Melia Las Americas: Wonderful resort, people & beach!
We just returned from a wonderful week at Melia Las Americas Varadero. The people, location, beach, pools, entertainment & food were all full of awesomeness! To be able to walk to the golf course and the DuPont Mansion were an added bonus. We were impressed to meet so many vacationers who return year after year & I think we will be back as well. We didn’t upgrade to The Level and were pleased with our room...the cleaning staff did a great job & our fridge was restocked daily. This resort is [... read more]
Melia Las Americas: Amazing resort
My husband and I have been to Varadero many times and have stayed at about four other resorts. We really enjoyed the size of this resort and my husband enjoyed the golf package that is offered. We never had to fight for lounge chairs or elbow our way at the buffet. The al la carts were excellent, especially the Japanese. We found the food to be the best that we have had in Cuba. We would recommend this resort for the golfing, food and the nice touches like violin acts etc. Some one in a previous [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Paradisus princesa del mar
This hotel was advertised to us as a 5 star which was far from the truth...by the end of our week stay new guests said it was now advertised as a 4 star and I’m sure the decline will continue. No fun, freezing pool - only one accessible to regular guests, another one just for ‘royal guests’. Food was terrible, no fun, lacked entertainment - changed our sheets and TOWELS only the day before we left! ALL WEEK THEY FOLDED UP OUR DIRTY TOWELS AND REPLACED THEM! All guests said the same, place [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Friendly!
Compared to other resorts I've been to, this one is tired. It needs some TLC. The food is ok. I find that I really can't get a wine that I really like - kind of disappointing. However, the staff is so friendly and hard-working. I looked forward to seeing them each day. All in all, it was fine.
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: A Cuban delight
Buildings a bit run down and need for constant maintenance and paint. But we know and accept that this is common in Cuba. For instance we changed rooms because the toilet did not flush, the wiring was exposed and you had to do a shoulder charge to open the door. But that's OK: the hotel made no problem about changing rooms and the new room was more satisfactory (although the bathtub finish had gone). The grounds were attractive and well kept. The beach is magnificent and the ocean swimming was [... read more]
Paradisus Varadero: Overall pretty good
This resort was generally really nice though did have some short falls. Beach: really lovely white sand, plenty of chairs and shade, no need to go early to reserve. Pools: really nice, seemingly recently renovated, nice and clean. They were renovating the snack bar bathrooms nearest to the pools, so you kind of have to plan your bathroom trips ahead. Room: we stayed in 1122 which had terrific central location but was pretty dated and in need of updating. Poor air conditioning and ki [... read more]
Melia Varadero: Great beach, food is challenging
The hotel was clean and well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Staff did not seem to expect to be tipped but were grateful when we did. The beach is beautiful and the water is completely free of weeds or stones. Nothing to really see while snorkeling but I’m sure you could find spots further down the beach. The pool is too cold to swim - they must be adding cold water constantly. The hotel is a quick cab ride away from the main strip which has flea markets, a “mallâ [... read more]
Melia Las Americas: Amazing service
We were late in arrival due to slow customs. We felt the room we got was not what we hoped for. The bellman, Frank Calbot, who we know now for years, took charge and upgraded us to a two bedroom bungalow for no extra charge. Incredible service. Great stay, like other years. One downer, the Italian a la cart dinner was awful. Other than that, we will be back next year. We love Melia las Americas.
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Lovely Family Friendly Resort
This was my first vacation to Cuba & I was very pleased with the resort. Our room was spacious & spotlessly clean. Our maid surprised us each day with her creativity in turning our blankets/towels into swans. The food was quite good but some of the meat dishes weren’t properly cooked. We had no problem with the chicken & fish. There was a good selection of side dishes. Service was a bit slow at the buffet and bar but all staff were very friendly & pleasant. There was entertainment nightly & th [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Amazing resort
So lovely and friendly staff With so pretty and peaceful environment Food was good but it could be much better They had every day and night show and entertainment that kept every body so happy and busy In general every thing was perfect
Hotel Vigia: Our favourite resort
We were here for 2 weeks on our 18th visit to the hotel! Obviously we love it! Things have changed over time for sure. The people could not be better! The service, welcoming, beach are 💯. Food can improve based on what I have seen in the past and water in the room everyday is essential! Other than that this is the place for us for sure! We continue to return twice a year, it’s like a marriage! Dedicated!
Melia Jardines del Rey: Done with Cuba
Clean resort, poor communication, no attempt to speak english for most employees. Not only did I experience theft of 180.00 my friend had 50.00 taken. And yes, I was pretty good at putting everything of value in the safe, only once did I run down to coffee bar and left my wallet on dresser. Watch out for the guys that fill the refrigerator. We don't go to Cuba for the food, everyone in our group got food poisioning, I mean really bad. If you like the beach, count on fighting or not getting loung [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: Wonderful place

Melia Marina Varadero: The very best Cuba has to offer!
Melia’s Marina Varadero is at the extreme outer end of the Hicacos Peninsula. It is regarded as the “Florida zone†by locals because of its large collection of modern, upscale and multi-functional resorts. At the end of one of world’s best, longest and most accessible beaches, you will find Amelia Marina Varadero, located within Cuba’s most modern marina with adjoining boutiques, restaurants, bars and an excellent music hall. Inside you will find a 5 star resort, spotlessly clean and s [... read more]
