Playa Pesquero: Amazing Resort

Thoroughly enjoyed all! Preferred the fresh to make areas of buffets. Great selections. Loved the coffee bar. Enjoyed all al la Carts. Was disappointed that not more available in shops for souvenirs. Loved the beach (a few buried broken glass & rocks in sand made walking uncomfortable) & pool! Great shade around the pool. Could use a few more pallapas at beach. Would have been nice for guests to have direct access to bottled drinking water. Sol Turquesa Beach: Amazing Vacation!!

Overall we had a wonderful time at Memories Holguin Beach resort. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had great service everywhere in the resort minus the 24hr bar. There was a lot of walking and stairs but totally worth it in our eyes. The staff were very kind and helpful.

pure shite Ive been to cuba many times and have stayed at every resort, exept Amigo, now I know why all the shit reviews, this resort is the worst I have ever been to, coffee was garbahe, service was garbage, 7 things stolen from us on resort, stuff was horrid barring a few people, most sraff, didnt understand english, tipped 1000 cucs in one week and still shit service, I should have stayed in town 6 thumbs down

Sol Turquesa Beach: Beach Bums!

We travel to Cuba for the beaches and weather, not necessarily the food or service. We found the beaches were lovely and spent most of our time there. The pools were kind of chilly though since they were not heated and it was winter in February. We swam in the pools to cool off quickly. The food was pretty good, lots of variety, lots of seafood. The sports facilities were quite far from our room and the main areas and were quite hidden - we had to go searching for them and never actually played any sports here. We played beach volleyball most days - nice court! Jorge and Roberto at the beach bar and Diana at the orbit bar in the courtyard were the best service! We would go visit them daily and were always greeted with smiles and they knew our drink orders! Unfortunately since this is an older resort, our building ran out of hot water in the first two days, so we switched rooms (and got placed in a better location!). We did a day excursion to Santiago de Cuba. Although it was a 3 hr drive, it was worth it with great stops and authentic Cuban food and drinks!

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Super Friendly Atmosphere!

This was our first time in Cuba and we were not disappointed. Check in was smooth, and the welcome drinks were delicious! We knew that this resort was an older resort when we booked. It is clean, and we had no issues with our room. Our maid was amazing. Staff here are very friendly, and take the time to get to know you, which makes your days there feel like you're with people you know. The omelette stations are busy in the mornings, but well worth the wait. The Cuban coffee is a must have. If you are looking to hang out by the pool, this resort has two, and both are maintained well. The pool closer to the beach isn't as busy. The beach is great and you can snorkel by the coral. The shop by the bar has equipment if you don't bring your own. There are also paddle boats and you can catch a catamaran ride here as well. There is an animation staff that holds an Aqua Gym class every day at the beach. There is evening entertainment at this resort (we missed most of it as we were so tired from enjoying the great weather all day) that includes some children's entertainment as well. So if you are bringing kids they will be well entertained :) There are vendors that set up beside the Buffet restaurant every day, so if you are not inclined to leave the resort, you can still do some shopping. There is a market a 10 minute walk from the resort as well. We opted to do a late check out on our last day, and this process went smoothly. All in all we had a great time during our first trip to Cuba. We will definitely book at this resort again!

Sol Turquesa Beach: Memories Holguin

Holguin is our favourite province in Cuba so when we saw the online promotional information for Memories the photos were impressive and inviting, however, our experience was not what the photos and online information portrayed. Our first room was in need of repair and the two twin beds in the room were pushed together to make a "king" bed. When we complained it took more than a day to be moved to a room that looked like what we had brought into. The food was the same fare every day. There wa [... read more]s no running water for more than half a day. Stairs, stairs & more stairs to get to the beach. NO entertainment. A phone that did not work. All in all I would not even rate the hotel as a 3 star.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Amazing resort

This hotel is a little dated but the price is right . The friendly staff and beautiful area, more than make up for any deficiency. If you like to emurse yourself in the culture there is lots to do and see . Return rate for this hotel is 80 plus persent. This was our 15th time and plan to return next year DV .

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Wonderful!

This resort and the Cubans are beautiful. It offers a lot of options and its not jam packed. A lot of space to enjoy. It is clean and the food is good, there are many options. Always fresh fruit and vegetables, they will vary on season and supply. There is also a lot to do off resort excursions or on your own, it is a safe place. To beach lovers, it can be a bit crowded at times lounging on the beach but th [... read more]ere is a little private beach close to the resort to enjoy most of the time on your own. The snorkeling is good, and there is lots of ocean life to see. To the tourists, be grateful to have the opportunity to visit this gorgeous country, be respectful, and drop any expectations of perfect at your door before you leave for the airport. You're going to another country, hopefully to enjoy yourself and take in another culture, not to criticize. Adapt. The Cubans work very hard 6 days a week catering to tourists so we may have a good time. If you are someone that seems to always attract black flies and reacts to the bites, they will eat you, bug repellent advised. It was the only bad thing for me, but it seems to happen anywhere I go. I have been to this resort 3 times in 10 years. The name has changed with some new additions but the feeling is the same.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Totally wonderful stay

I couldnt have asked for a better vacation. The staff were wonderful. My room was super clean and comfortable. And the grounds were beautifully kept. I have many pictures to have as memories of a super stay. Thank you for such an excellent stay.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Friends Forever

this hotel is going through a few upgrades right now, but otherwise the rooms are adequate..the food is better than some resorts..the pools are great as are the bartenders too. totally fabulous a la cartes ..but the best of all is how clean it is kept by the amazing staff ..everyone from customer relations to the maid to the waitress and on to the gardner are the friendliest ..most honest, caring people you would ever want to meet..but after you meet them.you just want to keep meeting them year [... read more] after year..totally awesome.

Don Lino Hotel: Excellent Budget Resort

The Don Lino is an excellent choice for a relaxing and budget friendly resort. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the grounds are clean, bar service is great and the beach is lovely. Remember to bring water shoes though. If you are looking for amenities that larger resorts have like swim up bars and multiple pools and restaurants you may be disappointed. The Don Lino offers peace, sunshine and lovely staff. I would return as it is hard to beat at the price point

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great Resort

Hotel was fantastic. Food and service was good. The buffets had a very wide variety and the a la cartes were delicious! Pools were great for the kids along with the daily kids clubs. The staff who ran the kids club were amazing with the kids. The beach was beautiful and a 2 min walk from the resort. The resort itself was the perfect size. It was big but not so big to the point where you couldn't walk to where you needed to go. Sol Turquesa Beach: less than expected

the grounds were a mountain climbers wet dream but a night mare to anyone elts. rooms were very nice lots of trees and flowering shrub's. not enough air conditioned public areas to escape the heat. far too many stairs with no railing and just too much extreme hills. games room had old old equipment and not open near enough hours. mini gulf was shut down the food was average Cuban food well cooked but always ran out of what you needed to complete you plate and had no ketchup till the la [... read more]st 2 days.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Gourgeous Beach

First of all the grounds are beautiful. We decided to upgrade to the Royal part of the hotel which is spectacular Are butler Hector was very helpful making our stay there very comfortable We enjoyed the buffet a lot as well as the restaurants We especially liked the pool on the Royal side over looking the ocean The one thing they really need to change is you are only allowed one beach towel per day meaning you have to carry a wet towel around all day .

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great Beach and Pools

This was our first trip to Cuba and we knew not to have high expectations of the room. The room really wasn’t great but the beaches and pools made up for it and so did the staff. All very friendly. The buffets were okay, and we could always find something to eat. The a la carte restaurant we went to was a nice change from the buffet. If you aren’t picky about your room, this is a great hotel for the beach and pools.

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Relaxing Resort

Beautiful new resort with plenty of space. Accommodation is really good with modern furniture, comfortable beds and plenty of light fixtures for good reading at night. Bathroom is spacious with a walk in shower and plenty of hot water. Staff is extremely helpful and not waiting to get tip before helping you. Food in the main area is repetitive. So we were exposed to the noise and the fume of the boat doing the work. It was possible to go to a different beach close by either using a shuttle or by walking. We were never informed of the work that was going to take place on the beach. The manager was surprised that we were not informed in advance.

Playa Costa Verde: Beautiful Playa Costa Verde

This resort is great because of the staff and how it is laid out. The only thing I feels requires change is the bath tubes/ bath rooms. I wish there were showers and updated. The chooses of food is good with specialty dishes every night.

Sol Turquesa Beach: 1st Cuba trip!

Overall I enjoyed my stay at Memories Holguin. The resort was good everyone was really nice, the food was ok and the rooms were decent. We never had any issues finding chairs on the pool or beach. Most people comment on all the stairs but I had no issues with the stairs, I actually enjoyed how you could go up top and have almost a birds eye view of the resort, it also made it easier to locate people. My only recommendation to the resort would be to make the swim up bar pool an adults only pool.  [... read more]The odd night there were some bugs by the pool/beach but not so much in the lobby area. Other than that I would definitely go back!

Playa Pesquero: A huge resort !

Playa Pesquero is a lovely-looking resort, almost like a lush Italian health spa. From the actual gondola at the entrance, to the fountains and sculptures decorating the lobby, the pool area and the grounds, it is visually very appealing. Everywhere there are swaying palm trees, several different types, tropical fruit trees, hedges and bushes in full bloom, with many different species of birds singing and flying about. The setting is well laid-out and truly beautiful. Our upper floor room in  [... read more]bungalow 45 was spacious, comfortable and very quiet, with a balcony overlooking trees and a grassy area. It was so nice to be woken up by birds tweeting and chirping. Fortunately it was centrally located with only a five minute walk to the beach and to the main buffets. Many were situated much farther away, but there were always small transport vehicles going by if the walking got to be too much. The buffets were very big with masses of food. Meat and fish were in most dishes, so not a lot of choice for vegetarians unfortunately. Local tropical fruit was served at all meals and was ripe, fresh and delicious. For some unknown reason, no pizzas were available at any of the buffets or restaurants, except small ones at a take-out counter down by the beach. We were disappointed by the beach which is quite wide but not very long, and by the lack of shade. It was extremely hot, close to 33 degrees during the 3rd week of February, and finding a spot away from the sun was a daily challenge. The swimming however was great as there were no huge waves to knock you over. It is a good beach for children, very safe, and the water was the perfect temperature. There is excellent snorkeling, with lots of different coloured and sized fish who are not shy about coming close for the treats they seem to expect. It is also a great beach for an outing on one of the colourful catamarans as the wind is especially strong in the morning. There were a lot of smokers at this resort and thankfully the constant breeze was helpful in minimizing this inconvenience. The lobby area was vast with many different comfortable areas to sit and enjoy a drink. It was a very friendly space to be and to enjoy live music. It was our first time ever at a resort to be treated to a concert by a superb violinist (who plays with the Havana Symphony) and to be able to listen to other excellent musicians each evening. What to bring if you choose this resort: lots of 60 spf sunscreen, your most comfortable flip-flops & sunhats for the many km of walking, all the beach gear you can fit in your suitcase, and most of all, lots of smiles and appreciation for the staff who are all such friendly, hard-working and lovely people. I should also add that there were several beach weddings during our 2 weeks at Playa Pesquero. They seemed to have been well-organized and, from an observer's point of view, were lovely ceremonies, with delightful renditions of The Wedding March and other appropriate tunes strummed softly by a trio of Cuban musicians. The bride and groom were seen trotting off in a horse-drawn buggy with the wedding party crowding into the large golf carts. A lot of fun I'm sure was had by all.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Beautiful resort!

We really enjoyed this resort immensely. The grounds were impeccably kept and clean, the scenery beautiful everywhere and the service and food beyond reproach the beaches are awesome and never seem overcrowded as was the complex itself, we often wondered where everyone was at times! The snorkeling right off shore is great with coral formations of all kinds and beautiful fish. I believe the air conditioning is centrally controlled This led to us not sleep properly. The suite was a bit dated and needed renovation but was clean and bright with a beautiful terrace balcony that we enjoyed a lot.
