Resonance Blu Varadero: Great times at Memories

Ok so I was a bit worried reading the reviews but we were very pleasantly surprised. Laura Marie at the main dining room was outstanding! Our room was very clean and staff were extremely friendly. We travel a lot mainly to St Maarten, Mexico and St Lucia but with safety issues we did Cuba and again very happy for a very reasonable price. Take what you read with a grain of salt, if you want a very fun place with lots of activity and great people give it a shot.

Memories Paraiso: I would give 2.5 star

Not what I expected., food was mainly pork, beef dishes chewy, no phones,,working. Hall way lights, stand up light not working, telephone shower, the fridge not working. Changed the room, 3 times. Food had mainly pork dishes. No accommodation for , non pork eater.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Sun all week

Very large. 1km long. Kept nice. Watch for birds in the dining hall. Service good. Always pleasant, fresh fruit was great every meal. Didn’t go for the food. Went for the sunshine. ☀️ Beach was the best pat. Many pools to choose from.

Grand Memories Varadero: Nice weather, bad food

Nice hotel with nice staff, very bad food. This hotel is very average for the price but the beach is nice. The room was dirty, the bed dirty and the washroom was dirty. The coffee machine was dirty. The rhum was very good!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great week!

Had a lovely week at the Memories Caribe😊Great beach! Our room was clean, shower was hot and cute towel animals on our bed everyday when we got back to room lol. Our friends had issues with shower and toilet but was taken care of right away. Entertainment was good, especially the Retro show. The a la cartes were very good too....the restaurant nearby called "Lenny's " was a nice afternoon out, you can get there by taxi... would go again😊

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Hôtel à recommander

Nous avons séjourné au Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero au mois de janvier 2019. Pour cet hôtel, réservés aux adultes seulement, nous n’avons pas de commentaire négatif. Nous avons été à Cuba 10 fois, séjournés dans des hôtels différents, et celui-ci était certainement l'un de nos favoris. Nous avons adoré Militza, elle était merveilleuse. Elle a pris soin de toutes nos réservations de dîner et si nous avions besoin de quelque chose, elle était toujours là et était rapide à répondre. Excellent service ! Nous avons fréquenté le Restaurant Ave del Paraiso pour la plupart du temps. Nous avons été très impressionnés de rencontrer Karl, le gérant de ce restaurant qui était là tous les jours, travaillant de très longues heures pour s'assurer que tout était parfait pour les clients. Bravo pour son dévouement et son équipe (Yessica, entre autres)!! L’équipe de barmans au Lounge Bar, ouvert 24 h/24, avec Jesus et Yuniel étaient super, ainsi que divertissement et de la musique live tous les soirs qui était fantastique. La soirée «Nuit Romantique» par Oswaldo Consuegra Suri et Ariel Mestre Silva était particulièrement bonne. Une expérience au restaurant La Orquidea (Gourmet à la carte) situé au Grand Memories Varadero était également positive avec une service très professionnelle et bonne de Roberto. Nous étions aussi très bien accueillis à plusieurs reprises au Mariposa (Lobby Bar) situé au Grand Memories Varadero par un joli couple Liliana Guerra et Eliecer Companioni. Ils nous ont toujours données des informations dont nous avions besoin, ils font tout pour que vous soyez les bienvenus. Alors, pour terminer le commentaire sur notre séjour à cet hôtel, il est important de mentionner que tout le personnel et l'équipe d'animation de Sanctuary at Grand Memories étaient géniaux. En ajoutant les belles plages, la nourriture avec beaucoup de choix et beaucoup d’imaginations de la création de chaque assiette d’un chef de cuisine (Italien) et un excellent gérant du restaurant (Allemagne), un personnel si dévoué et amical, vous n’avez que d’avoir un séjour spécial et parfait. On y retourne.

Grand Memories Varadero: Great resort

Been to cuba 20 times , and have gone to 12 deferent hotels in Varadero . I was with a group of 13 people. . Everyone was happy with the resort. The food, rooms, pool and beach were all very good. I like to thank Guest services and the manager for making our trip very memorable.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Beautiful Resort

The grounds were beautiful, so much plantings and so well kept. Sanctuary pool area was a very pretty area. Our room was very clean & bright and was very nicely decorated. Plenty of English station on TV. The cleaning staff were very creative with their blanket decorations . The lobby bar was a nice area and bartenders were very good. Music in evening was very good. I was disappointed in drinks in pool bar as I found they were not consistent - In fairness I do not like sweet drinks  [... read more]out of machines but One time vodka and soda was good next time it tasted like they just dumped any left over clear drink into the vodka bottle. Wine also was disappointing again you would get a good bottle one time next time garbage wine. It was like they moved the garbage wine around the different bars and restaurants . All bartenders were good and service was great. Sanctuary buffet was good but was only available for breakfast and lunch. I was a little disappointed in Grand Memories Buffet but they always had an amazing cook for fish. I also enjoyed the pool bar lunch at Sanctuary. The speciality restaurants we tried were all quite good. The golf carts that took you around the three resorts was great especially anyone with a disability. .

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: A little disapointed

grounds are decent. fairly clean. pool is nice. beach is amazing. the resort itself is starting to fall apart. Lots of things are not working. Phones in the room, safe, air-conditioning. Both coffee machines at the buffet. soft ice cream machine., faucets and sinks missing in bathrooms, hand driers hanging off the wall, on and on. I would say that this resort is much closer to a 3 star at best. couldn't get beach towels as promised. Had no bread in the resort for three days. Only able to book o [... read more]ne restaurant. when we went, there was only three parties there and many open tables., wife spent almost 4 hours in line trying to book restaurants. Sunwing reps were not available. on and on...… workers at the resort were wonderful. Always tried to accommodate.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Good resort

large resort with a beautiful beach and great pools. The staff treat you very well and like to ensure you are satisfied. The food is mediocre but they do have quite a bit of variety. Rooms are a good size.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great Spot

Beautiful beach, great food, excellent staff. The wine wasn’t great but the drinks were good! The beds and pillows were the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. Our butlers were so caring and helpful.

Memories Paraiso: Amazing staff!

I loved every second at Memories Paraiso! The grounds are beautiful. The beaches are unlike any I’ve seen before. The food was amazing, people had warned me about food in Cuba and we had no problems, every meal was delicious. The snack bar served ham and cheese sandwiches 24/7 and had awesome lunch buffets. The lobby bar serves up amazing coffees and other drinks. My only complaints are things the hotel cannot help because it’s so hard for Cuba to get their hands on simple things we take for [... read more] granted. The hotel room was a bit run down but it was clean and comfortable. Every staff member we care across was a gem. Especially the service manager Havier (?). We would come back to this resort ANY TIME, I hope to be back in the next few years!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Exceptional Staff

The resort was very nice. They are still recovering from the hurricane so there was some construction going on but that is understandable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to ensure we were looked after. The entertainment staff, particularly Darita and Victor, worked very hard and were super friendly. Rafael at the buffet went above and beyond to ensure my husbamd’s birthday was amazing. A shortage of clean pool towels was another flaw, but it was explained to us why and as soon as the clean towels came they were sure to let us know. No bacon at breakfast was a downfall, Canadians do love their bacon. More staff to serve drinks and at the buffet would have been a bonus. More variety in food as well would have been good. It is Cuba so you have to expect some issues with food. All in all, the food was ok, the entertainment amazing, the beach was beautiful, the pool activities were fun and our group of 18 had an exceptionally fun time.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great trip !!!

We had a great trip and can’t say enough good about sunwing ! We were a large group and one couple had a family emergency and sunwing treated them good and Reimbursed them for the Excursion they didn’t get to go on ! The hotel staff were great Specially the entertainers!!! What I like was when something was wrong like no hot water there was an Explanation to why. In all we liked the resort

The Sanctuary is beautiful. The food was very good, particularly the restaurant in the Sanctuary. The beach was pristine. The staff were gracious and lovely. Overall, a wonderful vacation. We would definitely go back.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Memories Flamenco Cayo Coco not 4.5 star resort

The positives before I go to the negatives! Family had great time because of beach, Cuban people, entertainment, kids club and food choices but not a 4.5 * resort. Resort needs lots of maintenance. Doors broken or half missing in public washrooms. Missing pipes in mens pool washroom. Very flat uncomfortable beds or pillows. Rusty and old light fixtures. Took days to get beach towels replaced. Our room key or lock did not work. Had to replace 4 times. Could only try one alacarte restaurant due to [... read more] no bookings available even though they looked mostly empty! Was told free water activities were available but none were. No bread available for 2 days.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Awesome vacation

We were a group of 18 and were greeted by the entertainment staff on arrival. We very quickly made friends with the entertainment staff and they truly made our vacation. The sweetest people and so much fun! The food is typical Cuba and the lineups could sometimes be long but there was always plenty to choose. Our waiter was amazing. He treated us so well. Resonance Blu Varadero: GREAT RESORT

FOOD WAS BETTER THAN MOST IN CUBA. NIGHTLIFE IS VERY LOUD AND GOES UNTIL 130AM MIN. IT IS A PARTY ATMOSPHERE AT NIGHT. RESORT WAS WE MAINTAINED. WE HAD A RECENTLY UPGRADED ROOM WITH WAS IN GREAT SHAPE.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Hotel was great- Check In was disapointing

I had requested to have a room in the 400 section of the resort. This was noted when I booked and on my paperwork. I was 45 minutes checking in and when I got my room assignment I was in the 700 section of the resort. I mentioned politely to the frot desk staff that I requested 400 and even showed them the notes on my paperwork but they spoke to me in Spanish and pretended they did not understand me (which they did). Due to the late time we arrived I took the 700 level rather than argue with the [... read more]m and that is where I stayed. Overall, it was not bad and the walk was scenic but there was one night it rained hard and we asked for the trolley noting the distance and the fact we requested 400 but were told they did not offer pick up service. I was a bit disappointed with that because we tipped graciously on day one to the gentlemen who helped with our luggage. The resort overall was beautiful. very clean. Food was ok. Lots of choices but the same thing every night. A la carte we didn't get to enjoy because it was always booked. There was not much of a nightlife. Entertainment went from 9-10 but then after that the resort went quiet. The disco each night maybe had 2-3 people and we were there 11/12/1 to see when the crowds came but they never did. I would recommend this hotel for families and they have a great kids program in the morning and shallow pools for little ones. If looking for nightlife, probably not for you. That said, I would definitely go back.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great resort!

Rooms, food, beautiful beach, pleasant staff, all great. My first visit here was last year and I was so impressed with the beach I came back and will probably repeat again. Only one complaint is that the nightly entertainment can get too loud for me, from 9:00pm to 11:30pm. They should turn the music down several notches.
