Allegro Playacar: An ok resort not a 4 star
The hotel needs upgrading. The rooms are very small and the bathroom is sub standard with old toilet and shower. The room looked over the sink and no one fixed it and you could not open a window. The food was ok but not enough variety. There was a buffet and one a la carte and nothing special about either. A 4 star has at least 3 or 4 a la carte options. Buffet at beach was good and staff very friendly
Excellence Riviera Cancun: Amazing time
Beautiful resort. Amazing food and drinks. It was like eating at the keg for every meal. We really liked that it was a la cart for every meal. Lovely resort, beautiful beach. Loved the amount of beach/pool beds they have.
The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Loved the sushi restaurant
Pros- good food at the restaurants especially sushi restaurant , buffet breakfast good .all staff were very friendly.did have a quiet pool and beach was great for long walks Neg-more children than expected, very large family groups, restaurants very noisy, evening bars small and too few bartenders Would recommend for families
Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Magical resort
The Occidental grand was the most beautiful setting i have ever seen. Woke up in the morning to monkeys on my balcony, lush jungle like setting. The beach was a little far but good exercise. Rooms are very clean and spacious and the staff were amazing. Traveled alone with my 12 year old daughter and never felt unsafe.
Bel Air Collection Xpu-Ha Riviera Maya: Not so good
Friendly staff, good food, resort is in dire need of repairs ( mother in law fell twice over broken pavement ). Seems the emphasis is put on the zoo and no attention is put on the resort.Only about half the staff speak English. Resort beach really sucks. They will cart you to another beach location but it's very inconvenient.Nice little pool play area for the kids.Resort is too close to the highway. Neighboring resort is very loud and everything can be heard through the thatched roofs of the roo [... read more]
Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Decent friendly place
Pros: Lovely beach (for Cozumel) with lots of shade options - extremely friendly and helpful staff - attractive grounds with lots of trees Cons: Terrible mildew/musty smell in rooms that comes home on your clothes (OK, it's 90% humidity down there, so dryness is a challenge) - A/C in room is deafening - Some rooms/public spaces flooded (during heavy rainfall) - Food is beautifully presented but not necessarily delicious - Isolated location if you want to go anywhere (240 peso taxi ride to town)
Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Great Entertainment!
My wife and I just spent a week (Jan20-27,2016) in Sandos Caracol. This was a great resort for couples and families alike. First the bad: the rooms we stayed in (bldgs 24 and 25) are in dare need of maintenance. They need new sinks, paint job, door maintenance, and better house keeping. A/C was weak but ok for the winter month we visited. Now the good: The entertainment is fantastic. It was based mostly on Mayan rituals (Xcalacoco experience) but there were other shows for family and adults (Fre [... read more]
Riu Emerald Bay: Amazing Resort
the food was amazing service was excellent rooms were very comfy and clean a coffee machine in the rooms instead of a bar dispenser would of been better highly recommend to everyone Mazatlan is a beautiful city
The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Awesome
I would recommend this resort to all people young to old. Comfortable and beautiful. Only negative do not go to time share presentation, very high pressure to the point of disturbing. Hotel, food, staff, beach awesome.
Moon Palace Cancun: very beautiful
everything was very clean and the staff were very helpful.the are was very beautiful.was really nice to be able to tour all the other resorts as well as those on the islands, never a boring day.Had a lot of fun.
Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun: We loved it!
My adult daughter and I loved our stay at Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun. The personnel are friendly and attentive skilled professionals. They went out of their way to meet our every need. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with housekeeping servicing the room twice a day. Ample bottled water and towels were always replenished. TV has satellite channels with a few English language options available. The beds are firm and comfy and have ample pillows. The resort has many food and drink outlets [... read more]

Last day was a little stressful checked out at 11 am your flight wasn't till 930 pm front desk people said we have leave 1 guy was rude.I said we have to the 24 th were are going to go have the right to eat and drink till we leave. Jamie the manager great guy and yes your with sunqest we will honer til you leave.Lots of locals nice people would go back.
Riu Santa Fe: very good last minute deal
rooms are very nice, resort is very clean, food is fantastic, drinks are quite good. entertainment is pathetic and not worth your time. walmart and costco are close but there are not any small shops close by. wouldn't recommend walking to marina as beach is steep amd sand is very soft. water taxi is a cheap alternative
Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Best view!!!
The resort is beautiful. The food is wonderful. Some of the rooms are starting to get a bit old. We prefer to stay in building 66 (on the beach, best view), but it showing its age. Low water pressure, leaking jacuzzi tub (flooded the room twice), musty/moldy smelling air conditioning, (we turned it off and used the ceiling fan and openned the door for the ocean breezes. I wish it was a little easier for them to give you your requests. We always request our room to be in 65, 66 or 67 and this yea [... read more]
Moon Palace Cancun: 3rd stay at Moon Palace!
We have loved this resort so much we went back a third time this past week. The food, service, room was fantastic as usual. Yes, there is some new construction going on near the Grand but so many other places in the resort to enjoy a great view. The food at the rest. are great and we enjoyed the Momo and Italian at the golf club. As well a great steak at the steak rest. Best fish tacos at the outside bar/grill at Nuzic pool. Smooth easy check in. Yes it is not the best water on a beach, but not [... read more]
Allegro Cozumel: Great times at the Allegro
This was our third time going to the Allegro. It appealed to us before we had kids and this time we brought the whole family and it was just as fun. The landscaping is beautiful, the staff are great and the beach is right there.
Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great Resort Poor Management!!
Our trip started out great, the food at the buffet and the a la cartes is very good. The service in the restaurants and bars was great. The waitresses that work on the lobby patio are fantastic especially Sylvia Kodoo to her for being so great. Only disappointment was the service at the 24 HR snack bar or the lack of it. Our housekeeper was fantastic she helped us to keep our outdoor Jacuzzi cleaned and covered so that we didn't have to constantly pick all the leaves etc out of it. The room was [... read more]
Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Great Moments: Nice resort. Very family friendly
The hotel is nice and a great location in town walking distance to tons of restaurants and shops. The food was decent but the buffet can get old pretty fast. Beach was closed half of our stay due to high tides but nothing they can do about that. Pools were clean. The staff are all very helpful and nice. Drinks were also good. The beer did not taste watered down and the bars were kept clean. Rooms were clean and adequate although the beds were a little firm for my liking. Booked a romantic dinner [... read more]
Barcelo Karmina: great place to rest and recharge
well kept resort, lots of positive people helping out, food was good, an excellent place for us to enjoy sun and warmth. we would go back and enjoy again. Good pools and gym. Nice balcony to enjoy morning sun as well.
The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Great resort
Overall experience was good. The restaurants were amazing. The staff were super friendly. The few flaws I found were the mini bar wasn't stocked at all times. We had to call room service to bring us bottles of water. The beach was a bit rocky for my liking. And lastly, we reserved a jacuzzi suite room, but we didn't get the room we reserved. The hotel manager said, the free upgrade does not state which room you get, which we found to be strange. There were some miscommunication all over the reso [... read more]
