Although the hotel itself was clean, the front desk staff were indifferent upon checkin and did not tell us anything about the resort other than where we COULD NOT eat! The service staff were great! Friendly and efficient. The resort is huge and hard to get around, especially if you are handicapped! Absolutely no benches to rest on when walking! The resort was overflowing with drunken young people who swore and screamed constantly! Great for a family resort! They serve INSTANT COFFEE throughout [... read more]the resort! Horrible house red wine! The buffets had a good variety of food but it was always cold! Al la carte restaurants were not good! Felt rushed every time! They wanted us to order immediately and we were done is less than 40 minutes! Hardly a relaxing dinner! Concierge staff were rude! Everything was an upgrade so take extra cash! Always confronted by hotel staff trying to sell time shares! The beach was nice but that was about it!

Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf and Spa: Amazing Trip
I must say, this was the Best trip we have ever done. Sunwing was amazing to deal with and the resort was exactly what we expected. Quiet, and perfectly sur-real. The staff was so helpful, and always smiling.
We loved this resort so much, we hope to visit again.
The events we attended where very relaxing.
It was just what we needed for a re-boot.
The whale watching from the beach every morning was one of the high lights of this trip.

This resort is a 5 star in our books and Las Cobos is a must visit for any travellers.
Blue skies every day, and temp. was 75 daytime and 60 at night, just right for a stroll on the beach.
Best value for an Adults Only resort.

Royal Suites Punta Mita: Average resort
The resort was nice. I'm calling it average. Grounds were nicely manicured around hotel. The drive down to the hotel from the main highway needs work as this is your first impression and it wasn't great. The adults only part of the hotel was under some kind of roof repair. They did not give us any kind of heads up. Jack hammering all day from 9 am-6 pm was not pleasant. Also the head waiter at the adults only restaurant was not friendly. You would ask waiters for coffee or juice and a lot of tim[... read more]es they said yes but forgot to bring it. One waitress At pool was totally awesome.

Crown Paradise Golden: Sun, sand and smiles :)
We chose this resort for the location. We prefer the climate on the Pacific Ocean. Every day was sunny for the most part :) We also prefer an adults only resort and smaller scale which we feel allows for a more personal service. The resort was clean, we were very happy that we got the type of room we had requested. All the staff were very attentive from arrival to departure. We enjoyed visiting the town of Puerto Vallarta; the waterfront, the architecture and the people. The only negative points[... read more] were the vendors but we just sat further from the beach to avoid them, and we found the food in the buffet could have been warmer. All in all we had a great week with a perfect mix of relaxation and fun!

Allegro Cozumel: OK Resort
Got there late in the day and the room we got was a little rough, musty smell, bath was unclean and window didn't lock. Went to the front desk to complain and they had the window repaired. Next day I asked for another room and they gave me a lot nicer room on the second floor. The buffet was good and the restaurants were excellent. Bars offered premium alcohol and the service was very good. Beach was clean and lots of chairs around pools and beach. All and all, a good deal for the money spent.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Resort
As soon as we arrived my impression of the combined resorts-coba, tulum, akumal and sian ka'an as a whole is beautiful, well manicured with lots of wildlife. The lobbies of each section are large and open air.
Check in: was fairly quick although our room was not ready until 2 hours later because of our early flight. We received a welcome drink but no cool towel.
Rooms: Great size with a sitting area. Bathroom Large with large soaking tub with jets. Because of our upgrade we had beach towels, rob[... read more]es, slippers and a no charge safe. Stocked mini bar with drinks and snacks. Walls were pretty thin as we could hear our neighbours a few nights coming in late or moving around. Maid service was good but she missed a day but later that night we found a bag of towels and supplies at our door. We only received turndown service once but not big deal. Mini bar was re- stocked when drinks were taken but only once with snacks which was disappointing.
Pools: Quite pool, Kids pool and small adult pools so lots of choices. Never hard to find loungers but on sunny days a little harder to find shade. Lots of shallow areas to just sit and relax.
Beach: Yes it is a walk and you can take the trolley. Walk was 5 minutes and you were at the Akumal beach. Nice walk down the beach to the Coba or Tulum area. We had all red flag days but the "whales" on the beach stopped the tide from being too rough. The whales are not that attractive but they certainly do work. We thought Coba beach area was nicer then Tulums- more clear of rocks and coral. Lots of loungers and shade but once again if a sunny day they would be hard to find if you came later in morning. Bar and snack area close by but we found it a pain to head to the washrooms no matter which area of the beach we were at.
Buffets: Main buffets at Coba and Tulum are huge. Lots to choose from. Mexican, Asian, Healthy, Vegetarian, small children area, seafood, bread, dessert areas available everyday. Some excellent choices some not so great. For the most part we found desserts not appealing as they were mostly gelatine type but the crepes and battered banana excellent.
A la cartes: The ones worth visiting in our opinion...Brazilian-a green card to say I want more, a red to say I'm full. Lots of different delicious meats come to you table on a spear. Appetizers were buffet style. Caesar salad was very good with real bacon bits. Asian table show: Food was excellent. The show part was very slow with long breaks in between showing up, apps, cooking show, eating, dessert. I found it funny that they didn't keep things rolling and many times we were left in a warm room with 12 ppl staring at each other wondering when we were going to get served. One couple left early and didn't wait for dessert. The show part was entertaining but very short, not on going like we have seen in other resorts. We spent almost 2 hours here because of slow service.
Mexican: Was very disappointed to be informed that this option was not available to us as we were told it was closed for one month.
Snack/24 hr bar- Overall a good alternative to the buffet but breakfast didn't have great choices- although we did get fruit on our last early morning day even though it was not a menu choice which was greatly appreciated.
Internet: 1 hour free per computer/ipad in lobbies and pool area. Never had a problem and it was long enough to stay in touch with family at home. Nice free perk.
Entertainment: Elvis was amazing. Highly recommend seeing him. We caught his show at the Tulum lobby bar and then part of another show which was different in Coba's. Best impersonator we have seen. The other shows we saw were good to just ok but even if we didn't love the show, overall the performers were excellent in dance and acrobatics.
Shuttles: All run pretty frequently. There is no signs to say where they are heading to, so you are constantly asking the driver or bell boy where to wait. My only compliant was on our way to the Brazilian a la carte which is at the Tulum. We left 45 minutes before hand and had to get two trolleys.Reservations at 7:30. On the transfer at the Tulum lobby we were told where to wait but when the cart came the driver said he wasn't going there and we had to wait again. We waited until 7:20 and still no cart. It was pouring out the whole time and we knew they were strict on arrival time and will not hold reservation. With only 10 mins left and knowing the a la carte was a 8-10 min walk we thought we better walk it instead of waiting. Our lower half of our bodies were soaked and we were not impressed when we arrived to find out we would be seated in the tent area of the restaurant which once again had puddles all over the floor and very slippery getting up to serve yourself a the appetizer/dessert buffet.
Weather: Not so great -overcast and rainy with only a couple sunny days but not the resorts fault. Like I mentioned earlier the lobbies are large so there is always a place to hang out when weather does not co-operate.
Bahia Principe App: Great to have this. Requested extra pillows on it. You can also book your a la carts and reminders for them. Maps and what's happening around the resort.
Overall it's a great resort. Too large to really get to know the staff unless you make a point of going to same area all the time. We spent lots of time at Tulum as we are beach ppl and it was nice to have the option to resort hop. Our daughter is heading here in a couple weeks and I know she will have a great time too.

Grand Palladium Kantenah: Wow.......Very Nice!
I must say we really enjoyed our stay at the Grand Palladium. The resort is big (we loved walking everywhere) but the train or "golf cart" gentlemen always checked to see if we needed a ride. The buffets were wonderful (even for a picky eater). Prime rib...never had that at a resort buffet before. We love to snorkel and there are lots of fish to see right at the resort beach. Grounds are meticulous and the staff are friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back!

Zel Cozumel: Smaller but well run
Spent 10 days here to play golf across the road. Perfect location for golf. My only complaint would be that the lobby bar is closed when the pool bar is open. Lobby bar should be open for coffee in the morning and drinks from 11 to close. After 4 hours golfing in the heat it would have been nice to sit in the air conditioned lobby barprior to going outdoors and wait in long lines at the pool bar. Also make sure you get a tower room. We had to upgrade as not all rooms have refrigerators and coffe[... read more]emakers.

Riu Palace Pacifico: Amazing Trip
When we first arrived, we were so impressed with the quick checkin and the amazing lobby. We were given our room, 7050, great views. two friends travelling together, and only one bed. they had no issue moving us, but we would have had to sacrifice our view, so we stayed where we were.
good food, tried Kyoto and Krystal, both good. Always something great at buffet.
We went for some much needed R&R, so didn't participate in activities on beach or around pool. We did walk to little town down the [... read more]beach (Bucerias), right if looking at ocean, about 20mins walk, wear sandals, tough on feet. nice little town. good to go for a drink and lunch. Taxi back, $5. We did massages on beach heading same way, all 3 tents are good.
my only complaint would be the lack of washrooms. If you are in the pool or on the beach, you have to walk to the buffet area and go downstairs. Only 5 stalls, and this washroom is the same one shared by the buffet restaurant, Krystal, and Kyoto restaurant. Not very appropriate with ppl in wet bathing suits and ppl fully dressed for a lunch using same washrooms. The maid in this area (older woman) was soooo amazing. she kept the washrooms prestine the entire week and we made sure to let her know how impressed we were with her.
Drinks were good.
Yes, lots of pool tiles falling off (little squares) but you could see they were collecting them and repairing at night.
We went on a very quiet week Jan 8th, and it was just starting to get busy when we left, but we had no issues our week for seats around pool or ocean. Chairs are very comfy.
If you've booked, I hope you have as good an experience as we did :)

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Mayan Paradise
Amazing resort. They mix opulence with an Eco-jungle with breathtaking results. The rooms are big and lots of space. Big bathroom with a large marble shower and huge closet with free safe. The restaurants are good with the choice of 2 buffets and no reservations required at the a la carte. Walking around the grounds you'll see monkeys, deer, coati, and flamingos. They don't have your typical beach area but the main beach is large, multi level and always calm for swimming. Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Good but below average beach!
The resort was ok but the beach was very disappointing. The sand is rough and the water is not inviting. We spent our entire time by the pool.
The food was what you would expect for an all inclusive.
The visitors consisted mostly of families and wedding parties. If you are looking to party or at least mingle with younger people I don't recommend this resort.

Sunscape Sabor Cozumel is a lovely resort because of the people working there. The grounds are beautiful, the beach clean with lots of palapas for shade, the restaurants are great with delicious food that is well-presented, the wait staff is friendly and most accommodating.
