Las Brisas Huatulco: Friendly service
I loved the fact that there were no vendors on the beaches! Fantastic snorkeling just off the beach. Staff were cheerful, helpful and attentive and made every effort to communicate despite our limited Spanish. Food in buffet was varied, fresh, simple and tasty. The ala carte restaurants varied in the service and quality of the menu. Rooms were large and clean with comfortable beds and nice linens; however lack of an outdoor sitting space was a drawback. Room service with attention to details suc [... read more]
Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Very good
Rooms a little small but you are not in them that long remember the C on the tap is not cold it is hot. The food was great fresh and lots of variaty. The grounds were very clean. I only wish that you could just walk out and swim. The entertainment was terrific every night all in all a nice place to stay thank you staff.
Barcelo Maya Colonial: Awesome resort
the "a la carte's" we tried were good, the buffet was huge with something for everyone. rooms were clean and bright staff was helpful and friendly plenty of gift shops Cant wait to go back and try the things we didn't get to!
Secrets Huatulco: Secrets Huatulco was beautiful !
Resort is beautiful ! Staff was amazing ! Rooms were very nice but the fridge for a preferred room lacked liquors...... need a real bar ! Shade at this resort is at a premium ! Swim up rooms need shade !
Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Good resort
The resort was good, they were not very organized. Our rooms were not what we booked, but they changed our rooms the second night to accommodate. The pools were very busy, you could not get a seat- same with the beach.
Grand Palladium Kantenah: The Palladium is a fantastic resort!
The beach is beautiful white sand... the pools are cool and refreshing... the food is very good. Nothing to complain about! The service is fantastic with transportation to all of the lobbies. We cannot express how much we enjoyed it! Can't wait to go back. Air Transat service was unexpectedly fantastic. They are situated in the lobby every day to guide you during your stay. Our favorite bartender Santos and waitress Irma made our stay exceptional.
Catalonia Yucatan: It's ok
The hotel felt very small but the amenities were ok. The lagoon for snorkelling was good. Went for privilege superior which was a must since you have all amenities open to you. The spa was only open to over 16 so could not go with my 13 year old. Would not go back again.
Friendly Fun Vallarta: Amazing Hotel-----But
Older Hotel very clean all areas including rooms. Food is excellent. Staff very friendly.Sand coarse on bare feet, 8 lane highway in front of hotel, not for people who are walkers. Sea not for swimming
Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Beautiful Paradies with amazing Food and People!
Great set up of the resort surrounded by beautiful nature and curious animals. We had enough space to move around in our room, you just go there to enjoy the beach, the water, the food and the friendliness of the Mexicans. Just amazing and a dream. :) A little con: A little bit of walking involved to get around the hotel, that was not a problem for us. Also no problem for wheelchair access, you can move around easy. If you like swimming in the ocean, bring your swim shoes, recommended there are [... read more]
Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Had a great time!
This resort really delivers on expectation -- at least it did for me. The resort is absolutely beautiful. The food was really good. The rooms are new and modern. I will be going back next Xmas season.
Barcelo Maya Colonial: Gorgeous resort!
What we love most about the hotel is the accomodation. We were a bit upset when we got there because we ended not getting double occupancy room as we reserve and end up getting one king bed. But the place itself was beutiful. Washrooms are up to date. Cleaning staff come everyday and change our towels and linens. Foods are amazing and unlimited so as the drinks and bars are all over the resorts.
Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Nice place
Very nice rooms Small issues w restaurants being slow w meals. Seems like management was still working on staff preparedness. This resort is relatively new and I would suspect the management will have the kinks worked out by the time we return
Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Incredible Value
Beautiful resort with very high marks from us regarding the quality of friendly service- very clean- comfortable rooms- great variety and quality of food from the snack bars- buffets and the Ala cart restaurants. We will be returning for our 9th time sometime in the future.Love it and the staff make it special*
Hotel Emporio Ixtapa: Boutique hotel right on the beach
We decide not to go to an all-inclusive resort this year. The Emporio was exactly what we were looking for. It is right on the beach, with plenty of palapas available for shade and a long stretch of sand to walk on. Our room was on the 10th floor facing the ocean, while my daughter's room faced the mountains. Both of us were delighted with our rooms. The maid service was thoughtful and friendly. The staff in all parts of the hotel was friendly and clearly demonstrated a pride in their work and [... read more]
Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Read on and make your own decision...
The hotel was situated close to the airport which was great. Arriving in the morning and waiting until after 3 for check in was not. Outside grounds were kept very clean including the beach area. Not much shade on the beach we mostly situated ourselves in a private area overlooking the beach with partial shade but had to get up early to save those spots. Restaurants were adequate and the food was relatively good. All staff were polite. Maid service was exceptional. So my only complaint was that [... read more]
The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Some pluses, some minuses
I'm writing this for my 19-year old daughter about her recent trip to Azul Five with her 25-year old cousin (I researched the resort and they spoke to me about it afterwards). Overall the resort is very nice. They were upgraded for free to a 1-BR suite - king bed, with pull-out sofa bed in the living area, small kitchen, and jacuzzi. Overall service was good, and several times maids left towels with flowers rolled up into animal shapes. They very much enjoyed seeing wild animals there - monkeys [... read more]
Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Small well managed resort
Good facilities, very clean, nice beach and grounds. Great snorkeling (turtles, reefs, lots of colourful fish). Also has a spa and gym, hydro therapy pools, in room jacuzzi tubs, very good a la carte restaurants, lots of organized actvities. Close to Mayan ruins at Tulum and Coba and many other nearby excursion opportunities. Overall a fun and relaxing place for couples and families
Riu Tequila: Beautiful quiet Resort
We travelled to this resort December 28-January 4/16. This was are second time here in 4 years. I have stayed at the viva azeteca in Playacar as well. And also have stayed at the Bahia in akumel as well as many other resorts in the Dominican Cuba and puerta Vallarta. The food is the best I have had anywhere. The buffet is the best. Al le cartes are ok but don't compare to the buffet. The rooms are clean spotless yes a little bit dated but nothing like Cuba rooms. The grounds are emaculate. So lu [... read more]
Barcelo Maya Caribe: Amazing resort!
Everything was very clean! From the hotel room to the grounds, dining areas to the beach. We were very impressed with this resort. It's a huge resort with a big mall, mini golfing, bowling and many water activities. We were disappointed in the snorkeling. Food was excellent in the buffets and the Japanese restaraunt was amazing. The other restaraunts we ate at were the Mexican and Italian, also very good.
Temptation Resort & Spa: Great time
Food is great resort a lot of fun but unless you are a Premier guest treated like a second class tourist. Many areas are off limits to regular guests but the premier guests are often time in the area for regular guests leaving there reserved area mostly empty
