Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Okay

There were some good things and bad about the hotel. The food was very mediocre the first couple of days and then it improved and was very good. They had wonderful coffee and a coffee bar open 24 hours. The staff were great and the entertainment was top notch. There seemed to be a shortage of toilet paper after the first couple of days. It was not replenished in the public bathrooms for the rest of the week and you had to bring your own. Even in our room I had to go ask for it. Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Good Trip

We stayed at Casa Del Mer the week of January 23rd ,2018, being our first time in Cuba we had no idea what to expect. People were saying to bring your own ketchup which I did, and I was glad I did. The buffet was okay, lots of choices. There was an Italian restaurant which we booked, but the service was the worse so we ended up walking out, the food was okay. There are 2 negatives issues that I can say and that is to bring your own toilet paper, oh my it was a nightmare to get toilet paper. We would have to walk into the men's washroom to take there toilet paper. Not enough entertainment at the pool for the teenagers or kids. Overall it was nice, lots of walking and bring bug spray.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Great Location

This resort was very clean and rooms were large and the hotel staff were very nice, however the H10 Premium Reps hounded you every time you stepped out of your room. I would not go back to this resort due to this, as it got very annoying!!! The restaurants had large portions and was good food. The buffet was the same thing every day for breakfast and lunch which after the 3rd day was not that appetizing.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Not great! not bad

beautiful resort to look at! gorgeous scenery....lots of walking, or go carting....typical Cuba food, beach snack bar was always broken, no chicken ever!...Kids had tons of fun at the kids disco, but could have used more day activities for them...all in all good bang for the buck, had fun

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Eventually will be Perfect!

The resort and its grounds are clean and beautiful. Most of the areas are ok for those with mobility issues, but if wanting to sit up in Mike's cafe or go to the Oriental or Italian a la carte restaurants it is a bit challenging if the elevator is not working (which was the case during our stay). We were also placed in the bungalow furthest from the lobby, theatre and buffet which made it more difficult for my mom. The cart drivers began to know her well and looked after transporting her. Th [... read more]ere were some language barrier issues with front desk reception staff and they did not seem the most friendliest. However we did encounter some of the best staff ever in the buffet, at the bars and especially with the animation team. Highest praise is given to Big Daniels and Ower on the Animation Team, Gali, Yunier and Edel at the Family Pool Bar as well as the entire staff at Mike's Cafe. There was always a good variety of food selection in the Buffet and listening to the beautiful music of Alejandro & Luis was most enjoyable...amazing talent! I think in a couple years after getting through a few tweaks, Ocean Casa Del Mar will be perfect! I have been to Cayo Santa Maria 11 times and do hope to return to this resort. "Siempre Contigo"

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Nice resort

Nice hotel very clean room the foods was good ,we enjoy the staff especialy Omar at the Daisy junior suites bar always had a smile to serve us ,also the lady at the ice cream bar always look happy serving ice cream to the peoples.We enjoyed the monkeys on the site .

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Review

The hotel was very nice. The grounds were well kept and the landscaping staff were very friendly. The room was great! Our housekeeper Tatianna was always gracious and left cute towel animals for us to get a laugh. The pool was very inviting and the entertainment staff were happy and energetic. Great place to relax. Hot food cold, cold food warm. Way over cooked or severely under. I'm not as particular as my girlfriend, so I was able to stomach a few options and got through. My partner, on the other hand, was very limited and eat very little. We are not food snobs by any stretch. I'll almost eat anything, but this was bad. I'm not looking to get anything out this review. I don't even need a reply. The travel agency and Heather our agent were great and I'll definitely use them again. I wish I could say I would recommend this resort because it is a special place, but knowing how poorly the food is prepared, I would say pass. People always say " the food wasn't good" when talking about their all inclusive vacations. Why is that? A few minor tweaks to the way the food is prepared and it would have been memorable; for the right reasons. Just my opinion.

Beach fantastic. Food okay. Rooms good. Location a bit far from the airport. Great service, people very friendly always smile and happy. Overall a great hotel for the value. Building #1 the best location near to everything, main lobby, beach.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Returned for the 3rd time

Grounds: lush and well groomed. Rooms: very spacious,large balconies. Dining: exceptional. Service: very responsive to any issues and no language issues,pleasant employees. Beach: nice long beach for swims and walks.

Playa Vista Azul: As advertised

Hotel, beach and grounds are beautiful and clean. Food is so so but you won't starve. If you like to party at night either bring your own fun or go to town. Staff and service are top notch. Hints - bring larger cups for coffee shop and bars, very small ones there only. also no straws available

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: a satisfactory experience

The grounds and public area were fine and the staff and service were excellent. We liked the size of the resort as it was small enough that you often remembered people you met the next time. Everything is very accesible for seniors

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Very nice resort

The resort was really good. Amazing friendly staff. The room was very clean. The pool is great. Lots of chairs for people. The beach is nice too. Not very big and can get crowded but still a very clean and beautiful beach. The food was ok, nothing really special. The a la carte restaurant is good but not being able to make reservations makes it hard to plan a night out as it fills up pretty fast and one of the 3 restaurants closes during the week.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Beautiful Resort

We stayed Jan 17-24 and our stay was excellent. We booked trip with trip central and flew air canada business class. The only way to fly! The tour operators were friendly and told us about Cuban life and history. Our hotel was ocean view, room was immaculate and daily cleaned and fresh towels. The grounds are large but the layout works well with main lobby and buffet in the centre and on each side are pools, snack bars as well as 3 beach access with bars and bbq. The al cartes were good but our only wish was for hotter food... the seafood restaurant food was served hot but no such luck at the Italian or Asian and even the buffet had warm food never hot unless you had it prepared for you-again the staff do an awesome job. Lots of food choices, beverages and coffee bar is wonderful... great location with beautiful beaches and water sports. The week went by too fast as we would have loved to stay longer.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Resort was wonderful

The food and drinks were great, and the room was very clean. We did have to endure to pressure to purchase a membership to H10, but after that no problem. Our rep was from Sunquest and he looked after us pretty well, the only problem he didn't explain all the details regarding our tour to Santa Domingo. The tour was great, it was the trip there was a little confusing as we not told we would be changing buses along the way. Other than that the whole vacation was wonderful. Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Fantastic location

The location is wonderful. My room looked right upon the ocean (0451) and the warm breeze and sound of the waves were awesome. The beach is clean and to walk the length of it is a nice walk. The staff are very friendly, attentive and helpful. Very kind. Negative is hard as this area is recovering from Hurricane Irma and that is evident in some areas. It is a bit repetative but fine. I did not try the restaurants. 2 beers and 2 sodas a day in your room but you can ask for more. The live music had some very talented musicians. The violinist was my favourite. He was part of a duo for dinner music and it was very good. Overall I would definitely recomend this resort, just bring a few snacks and treats from home to tide you through.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Nice Resort but needs attention

Hotel nice. Standards are not great but it's a cheaper vacation package in Cuba so to be expected really. Most staff friendly. We had adjoining rooms with our 2 teen daughters but found it very noisy (near disco). We reported to West Jet Rep and he and hotel staff moved us to a quieter area same day and were great. Food OK but very basic. Rooms were nice / basic but needed repairs / upgrades.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great resort!

We just returned from our 3rd trip to Oceon El Patriarca Varadero in the privileged area. We travelled the week of January 13-20, 2018. Great trip! The hotel is very nice and the privileged accommodations are well worth the extra money. Brand new mattresses made it for a very comfortable sleep. Privileged dining room is so accommodating, very friendly staff and good food. There is always something good to eat at this resort. Ocean Blue and Sand: I was very pleased

The rooms were very clean and very well kept up. The grounds were very neat and tidy. Shuttle buggies ran around resort continuously which was handy. The drinks were very good , bar staff very funny and quick . The food was very good and not crowded at buffets or al acartes. Entertainment was pretty good. Pools very clean with lots of activities. The beach had large sandbags to save the beach. You could still swim no problem . I was quite impressed with this resort and would go again.

Playa Vista Azul: Our honeymoon

This was our first time to this resort. We where giving several hotel choices by our travel agent and choose this resort because of the nightly entertainment reviews. We where not disappoint. The night shows where fantastic. We also upgrade our stay to the vip. For us this was a good dicision for us. The service was great and the food in the vip restaurant was also great. We did try the buffet once was not a fan. Food was cold and service was ok. We also tried once one of the other restaurants [... read more]. Service was not so good and food was ok. The room we had was excellent we had a great holiday and would return to this hotel.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great mid-winter vacation!

I didn't expect much, the reviews were mixed, some people complained about food, bugs, hurricane damage... But we needed up having a blast! The hotel was nice, rooms clean... Staff are always eager to make our stay more fun. The food by Cuban standards was actually good - fresh juices in the morning, a selection of fish and meat... We did salsa, merengue lessons and some entertainers went to the disco with us... The bugs are bad! They have regular mosquitoes and these tiny flying things that bite... Bring bug spray and after bite. Nights get a bit windy and cold, so bring a sweater or a jacket. Also, there's really no place to go to explore, you're pretty much stuck on an island, but if you wanted a quiet get away, this place is perfect. We had an awesome time!
