Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Beautiful Resort

Lots of improvements. They are working hard to update everything. Food is very good. Could use some benches as there is a lot of walking. This would free up the golf carts more. Will certainly return.

Playa Pesquero: Fantastic Resort!

Fantastic resort & service. We haven’t been here in 13 years & we were curious if it still met the top seller standards. It is a resort that is clean, organized and has great service. We also enjoyed the services they provided in hand with having a doctor, dentist and pharmacy on site! Many different restaurants to choose from and enough activities for all ages.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Disappointing Accommodations

The resort itself and where it is situated was lovely despite the numerous stairs that had to be climbed to get to and from the beach. For individuals with mobility issues this is not the resort to be at. The place is in need of renovation. There is no sound-proofing between rooms that are both beside one another or above/below one another. It was very difficult to sleep as even a normal conversation was audible from the room next door. After day 3, I had enough. Upon arrival, no beach towels were left in our room and we were told "perhaps you left them at the beach". Pushing the blame onto your paying customer is not a good approach. Our response was "afraid not, as we can't go to the beach as we have no towels". This issue took 24 hours to resolve instead of someone just bringing us the towels.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Incredible Resort

The three of us stayed in a three bedroom hotel. Amenities were good, beds were clean, water was clean and rooms are clean. The hotel grounds were tidy. We were really impressed with the customer service there. All the people were very friendly when we asked for anything in the lobby. Pool was clean. The entertainment there was amazing. Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Wonderful staff!

This was our second time to the Sol. We have never gone to the same resort more than once but the friendly staff and the gorgeous beach brought us back. The rooms are dated but spotless. Initially the room we had was not what we prefer and that was sorted out by a lovely young woman who was in training. We spent our days on the beach and enjoyed lunch every day at the beach restaurant. Yanet and Marley were there with smiles always and the fish of the day never disappointed. We went out with Robert for an excursion to a farm and caves. He is so knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. I feel like we will be back again because going there felt like going home.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great resort

Nice big lobby is the first thing you see. Check in was seamless and quick. Grounds are well kept . Rooms were standard , clean they leave bottles of water every day. Lewis is great very helpful and on time for the pickups. Very nice beach and great drinks at the beach bar. Pools were clean could use some new chairs. No issue with food it was great.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Beach Beach Beach

We started our vacation Feb 18th for one week. Playa Pesquero beach, snokerling on shore was the best. We had awesome weather. Our room was 1204 superior, dated bathroom, couldn’t open the balcony, required full strength but the best bed I had in Cuba. New comfortable bed! Beach was extremely crowded between the palapas. Unfortunately no pizza all week due to flour shortage,no bread at times. The Ceviche lunch bar was the best! Tasty and large variety. Buffet was average. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great first time visit

This was my first time going to Cuba. My boyfriend had previously been at this resort years ago so we were excited to go. When we booked we booked a standard room. I highly suggest you book nothing less of a bungalow because the standard rooms are NOT nice at all. Our room had 2 twin beds and we had no toilet seat in our bathroom. The room itself was super dungey looking. We upgraded to a bungalow and were very happy with the different it made. If you’re looking for a fridge in your room you should book a villa (they’re much nicer then the standard and bungalow). What you can do is book a standard room online and when you get to the resort you can ask to upgrade your room. It’s much cheaper to do this in cuba rather then online. You’ll spend $20 as opposed to $200. The customer service at the front desk was awful. The ladies working were very rude and were not helpful. When we told them about having no toilet seat they said they’ll have someone repair it in 2 days... As a female i need a toilet seat so I then asked for a room change. They were very rude and not people friendly. When we originally checked in we were told our room was not finished. But our room was done as we had a gentlemen call the maid and help us to our room. Besides the poor customer service the resort itself is beautiful!!! After switching to a bungalow room we had no issues.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Relaxing resort!

I’ve been to Cuba many times and this was definitely one of my favourites! The food was the best I’ve had in Cuba. Variety of different cheeses, fresh fish including shrimps, pasta bar and more! Breakfast was the highlight of our stay! We would eat on the beach breakfast restaurant which had crepes with Nutella!! The employees were really nice and could all speak English really well! One day we even got a rum and cigar service and got a free bottle of rum and cigar! That was fun. There were many excursions to choose from as well. The drinks were great they even have top notch booze including absolute vodka and dark chocolate tequila! Bartenders were awesome, quick and really friendly!! The beach was where we stayed most of the trip! There are a few rocks, but not sharp at all and there are spots where you can walk in where there are no rocks! Overall I would definitely recommend and would go back :)

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great Resort

Had a great time at Fiesta Americana Costa Verde. The weather was beautiful, resort was very clean, staff was amazing, food good and lots of hot water. Any issues we had, which were very few, were resolved immediately. Having said that, the number of washrooms at the beach and newer pool area really need to be addressed as one small female washroom certainly is not sufficient for the number of people. Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing resort

It was our second time there and it did not disappoint us. Great location. Very good food. Outstanding service. Amazing beach. Lots of entertainment throughout the day including bands, dancers, and piano players. It is nice to have the four restaurants available as well as the buffet for evening dinner. The only drawback I found was we could only get the 8:30 sitting for all of them which meant we missed some of the evening shows. Otherwise, everything was good.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Enjoyed my stay !!

This was my first time to Cuba and with all the posts I have read I didnt know what to expect . The people are amazing . I had upgraded to Diamond Club I think and extra $20 a day and was well worth it . Lewis was my butler service and went above and beyond look after things for me . The breakfast was great , the Italian Ala cart was 10 out of a 10 . If I had only one complaint was the lack of Ketchup lol . So I brought my own . The beaches and weather were beautiful .

Playa Pesquero: Amazing resort

For a first time travler at 21 years of age this place was so amazing and welcoming, the pool and beach’s were just breathtaking, food was good as long as you got something either from one of the fine dining restaurants or from someone who cooked the dish in front of you. The nighty entertainment was great and loved to see that it was diffrent everyday. Rooms were kept Clean and they were the perfect size for me and my Significant other. Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Not very good

This hotel was a big disappointment. I’ve been to the Fiesta American in Puerto Valerta and it was so much better. Even with keeping Cuba standards in mind, it was not very good. I had to upgrade to a newer room and it was a bit better. The food was not good. They are happy to announce you in the presentation that the à la carte restaurant is available for you every night and without reservation but what they don’t tell you is that you have to wait in line for sometime more then 1 hou [... read more]r. 1/2 the item on the menu are not available and the food is about as tasty as the one at the buffet. The beach and the pools are good. The animation during the day and at night is really low end. I would not return to this hotel.

Playa Pesquero: What a Great Oasis!

This resort was lovely - it's a 5star Cuban style, prob a generous 4 four Canada style. The food was significantly better than our last visit to Cuba 10 years ago, however I'd rate the food about 6.5/10 compared to Mexico. That being said the culture is so fascinating and I don't know where else on the planet you'd get that kind of experience, it's so historically interesting and currently a rare experience. The resort itself is huge, plenty of much needed walking (after all you can eat & drink) through beautifully manicured and clean grounds. The pool is massive, meandering and quite a spectacle. The beach is the best I have ever been to, even when compared to Mexico. Plus there is plenty of seating and shade available ocean side. Note: If you are a complainer, probably Cuba isn't the best place to go to have North American standards indulged. Overall it was great, however there are some very Cuban things (like power flickers, less than four star bathrooms, not amazing food, etc) that you just have to roll with in exchange for beautiful beaches, fascinating culture and few Americans!)

Brisas Guardalavaca: Great family vacation

Stayed in the villa section room 2111. It was close to the beach and pool. Beach & pool was amazing. Food: our 3 children ate everything on their plate. Good selection of food every time at the buffet. Very clean resort. I suggest that you take toys ….crayons, coloring books etc as there is nothing on the resort. There is a small store on the resort where you can buy floaties $7.00 and beach toys $7.00. SPF60 sunscreen kept the little 2 year old from getting burnt. $100 Canadian converted to  [... read more]$71 pesos (not good!) PS: if you are travelling with a small child you get to keep your room until 4pm on the day you are leaving for FREE. As well, if you are a repeat customer you get this benefit as well. Otherwise you have to pay $5.00 for every hour. You have to get a chit from GUEST SERVICES the day before and give it to the lobby clerk on the morning that you are leaving. Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great Beach, Pools, Staff; Terrible food, rooms

Fiesta Americana resort was priorly known as Blau Costa Verde. We had a good experience with this resort in 2006. Thus our return visit. We were reassured by the fact of recent renovations and the addition of a large, second pool. The beach is still great, the pools nice and the staff friendly. However we had to change our room three times. All had run down, somewhat moldy bathrooms, old tubs and faucets, poorly designed curtains, and insects occasionally in the rooms. There were cracks in t [... read more]he tiling and walls. Two of the rooms the patio doors didn’t work properly. The worst was the power outage for 3 days in Block 6, no air conditioning and cold showers. Finally the admin “evicted” us all and moved us to different rooms. Our third room was a “deluxe” room which we were informed was a gift we should appreciate as we were getting it at no extra cost. The first night the toilet failed. For the following last 3 nights the air conditioning did not work. The final day I found hundreds of tiny brown ants in the room on a cough drop wrapper. Food: everything was out of a can except for the occasional chopped up half green tomatoes and cucumbers. There was no green salad. No fresh veggies. Canned corn, peas, beans, mushrooms, tomato sauce and pasta were featured at lunch and dinner. Fresh fish and omelettes were available but one had to stand in a long line. There was NO bread at lunch or dinner. Scrambled eggs swam in a watery vat. There was plenty of mystery meats and weiners for breakfast. But no bacon or toast. Occasionally there was chopped up watermelon (half green), pineapple and canned peaches. Oh I forgot the brown/black bananas! I was thrilled one day to find some chopped up apples in a creamy sauce at lunch. There was occasionally soft, poached chicken. The beef was tough and inedible. I resorted to eating some ground beef occasionally which had mixed in it green olives (from a can) and pickled onions (from a can). Hamburgers and French fries were only available outside at the snack bar at certain times of the day. One day we waited 45 minutes for this treat. The Seafood restaurant was the best bet. Only open at lunch, the grilled fish there was good. They advertised calamari, but it was only available once out of the 5 times we ate there over our 14 days at this resort. They also advertised fish tacos but also ran out of the tortilla shells. The lack of fresh vegetables and and orange juice not to mention the absence of bread or even potatoes at lunch and dinner was deplorable. The gym had NO free weights. A sparse Universal machine and a few cardio machines were all that was available. There were NO toilet facilities near the beach. It was a very long walk back behind the Seafood restaurant and then the ladies room was either locked or unavailable since there was only one toilet for hundreds of women at the large pool which was near the Seafoid restaurant. This was our second time at this resort and our 19th time in Cuba. This resort had the worst rooms and food we have ever experienced in Cuba. Yes the beds were comfortable (unusual for Cuba) but we need air conditioning in 30C weather. And it became very humid our last 5 days. The bars and drinks were good. The staff tries very hard. But we never received an apology or recompense for going 3 days without power or hot water in our second room. Oh I forgot! All the rooms are non-smoking. Our third room reeked of smoke from the previous occupants. It stunk all 3 days we were in it. Not a good environment for 2 guests such as we who are asthmatic.

Beautiful great service awesome food beautiful pool and beach. Very friendly staff no complaints cannot wait to return 5 stars all around Golf cart service good as very large resort Lots to eat 24 hours a day Al la carte restaurants all good Italian and romantico our favourite and easy to book

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Nice Resort!

This resort was quite large, a little larger than expected. While our room was very nice and I was told recently renovated, we were put in the farthest block from the main lobby taking about 10 minutes to walk to the front where everything is located and doing that 2-3 times a day was a bit tiring. The resort was very well landscaped and beautifully taken care of. The pools were both very nice although they are lacking enough chairs at the main pool, however the pool was well maintained. The ala carte restaurants were pretty good also, although not making reservations for these restaurants in advance can cause quite a lot of people showing up for dinner at the same time resulting in really long wait times for dinner. Overall it was a pretty good resort and we enjoyed our stay.
