General review: Good value for money Pros - Food is good with lots of choices, beach is beautiful with comfy lounge chairs, lots of entertainment from noon until late Cons- Service in general is poor. We wouldn't return because we prefer smaller because at smaller we find better service but for people that like larger and more to do it's perfect

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Nice resort but definitely not a five star

I stayed at this resort from March 31st to April 7th. I do believe in doing reviews as i do use them to determine if i want to go to them. THE GOOD- simple, easy check in and out, nice property and close to the airport to reduce your bus time (both to and from). I was upgraded to ground floor with swim out area but didn't use. I felt the swim area was not practical for our use. Also too close to your neighbor so no real privacy if you wanted it. Buffet was very large and lots of variety [... read more] of foods which i consider standard to most other resorts. The service and staff in the buffet was very good. Not sure if many people tip the staff but they do a very good job. THE BAD - the terrible smell in most areas is present. i did see this in previous reviews but not sure what causes this. It also appeared in the buffet on one side. Pool chairs and umbrellas is a serious problem. This is a problem for most of the day as this resort does not manage towels with towel cards. You can get as many towels as you want and reserve chairs in various areas. I did notice that many of the chairs next to us were never used but had towels placed on them early in the morning. This seems to be a problem in most resorts but more noticeable at this one. I did walk to the Diamond Club pool and Hideaway adult area and it seemed very crowded and also no chairs available early in the day. It was very windy all week so there were not many people at the beach. There were many chairs available which explains the crowded pools and lack of chairs. As this is a very large hotel, i am not sure if this problem goes away. The process for booking the A la carts is very disappointing. this is done by using an App on your phone and really doesn't work. When i tried to book, my option was for dinner at the steak house at 9 or 9:30pm. Really doesn't work for me. When i walked by the Hunter steak house the next day, i asked a staff member that was outside the restaurant (it is a buffet in the morning as well) the nice lady said only bookings can be done by the app. An employee that was at a guest services stand near by stopped me and asked me what my problem was. When i explained to him that the booking process for meals sucks, he made a call and booked me in for dinner that night at 6:30pm for 2 of us. When i asked how this could happen, he explained to me the Prime Resort sellers get some bookings for people that they can offer the "time share" features for. I did make it clear that i would never get involved in this offering. I did end up going to dinner that night and it was good but not great. I also was disappointed with the bartenders at the pool area i stayed at, as the service was not very good for a so called "5 STAR" resort. At times, there was only one bartender working which made no sense based on the number of people at or in the pool. Also I did ask specifically for Canadian Club Whiskey many times and it was never provided. I do think that this resort wants to push the cheap drinks to guests and save money. I did find out that this resort is shutting down in the summer for renovations but i felt the property was acceptable, but not the service. I have stayed at a 5 star Royalton before but can confirm this is not one. I was also offered the Royalton Prime program but ended that conversation very quickly as i don't believe in making a commitment to a "time share program" that makes it difficult to terminate. I am not sure I would give this resort another try down the road.

Krystal Grand Cancun: food sucks, goodluck finding a beach chair

The buffet was ahh, the same shit every day basically, got sick of it pretty fast, same with the restaurants. The Chinese restaurant was okay until I saw roaches going under the floors outside it. The pools are disgusting, you can see the oil floating on top and the pool floor felt oily too (not enough chlorine idk). The beach chairs are limited, and finding a shady spot is difficult. The beach was beautiful, the best location for the beach as there's a rock barrier for the waves. Secrets Huatulco: Great value for money

Beautiful and quiet area of Mexico. Better than average food for an all-inclusive, excellent service, beautiful views, beach and pool areas were great. Not an elevated luxurious experience but a hidden gem nonetheless. Would definitely come back.

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Beautiful Resort

The resort was well kept and had a welcoming atmosphere and kept clean. All staff were professional, hardworking and friendly. Hotel rooms were cleaned and well supplied with towels etc. Beach was kept clean all day long. Service was very good.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Another great visit!

This was our seventh visit to the VIM, where we usually connect with friends we have made on past visits. On this trip, for some friends, it was their first trip, and we surprised them with our arrival on the last days of their stay! When we asked them about the resort, they said, "We get it" when we talk about why we return. Beautiful grounds, great service, really good food!

Stayed 13th to 20th April 2025, the resort is located 45+ minutes from the airport in an undeveloped area. Check in went well and the room was large and clean, but damp and musty so we requested a dehumidifier which took 2 days to arrive.The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a lack of deck chairs and shade so the towel game was in full swing every morning. The restaurants were nice and the food great although the booking with the app was hit or miss and when a restaurant seemed fully boo [... read more]ked you could walk by the same restaurant and it was half empty. The entertainment was top notch. The beach was lovely.

El Cid Hotel Marina Beach: Beautiful Resort - great time

The grounds are very clean and updated. Staff are happy and helpful and there are plenty of them. The food is very good and the private beach is a nice area to relax compared to the public beach by the other resorts. The only thing that is a little annoying is that they scan the barcode on your bracelet every time you order food or drinks and then they want you to sign a bill before you leave the area but they never come around with the bill until you ask for it.

Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos: Pretty and fun

Our family of 4 LOVED our stay at the Hard Rock! There was something for everyone to enjoy, we couldn’t have enough! The property and rooms were clean, food was good, the pools and beach were a delight and the entertainment was so much fun!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: A Wonderful But Rocky Resort, wrong time of year!

The hotel is beautiful, the meals excellent and staff very nice. However, we went for the beach. It was rocky, wavy and lots of seagrass. Our room request was not met, double beds. We had to move three times. Then the room we were given was adjoining and very noisy with party guys next door. Third room was excellent near the adult pool. However, no food around that area, except for nachos which lasted 10 minutes. We had to argue to get the restaurants. Lovely hotel, located in pretty town of Bucerias. Hotel is decided into 6 bocks of rooms. Each block is set up to have everything you need in walking distance, with the exception of block 5&6. They are across a service road so you have to walk a bit to get to the ocean. We stayed in block 4, ground floor and it was perfect for us. You can walk for ever on the beach. Food and service was good. Staff are very nice. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Free use of Bicycles and kayaks and paddle boards.

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Definitely 5 start Luxury Resort

Very clean, very comfortable,and great food! We had a master suite overlooking the pool so it got very noisy from noon to 5pm with the DJ and pool activities, but there is a 'Quiet Zone' with lounge chairs and cabanas (closer to the beach) that suited us well so just stayed there. Master suite was large with dining table for 6. TV in living room and bedroom which was nice. Balcony jacuzzi was appealing but took 30-45 min to fill up if you had the patience. Wasn't thrilled about making reservations for dinner as the first few days most things were booked until 8-8:30pm but I was able to book 3 nights at a time so later in the week we were able to get 7-7:30pm no problem. Lots of variety and something for everyone on each menu. If you're not a RESERVE guest, your only option for breakfast is buffet (which is actually very good) or room service. If you are RESERVE you have another restaurant near the Quiet Zone that is open for breakfast and lunch. Several restaurants in the family resort next door (linked by a hallway) were definitely worth visiting. Shout out to Oliver our waiter in Flora's - best service we received. Totally attentive, funny and made the dinner experience that much better. Pool bar and restaurant were great, good food and fast service. We would definitely return to this resort, but have our room in a quieter location.

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Krystal Grand Neuvo

We had some things we thought were highlights of this resort. 1. The Skylounge was amazing views 2. The adult infinity pool was so awesome , and the fact they didn’t allow kids( some resorts do even in the adult pool) was amazing and it had a swim up bar 3 the Grill restaurant and the Asian restaurants were both fantastic with incredible service !!

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Always memorable

We just returned from our latest 10 stay #7 . We once again can only say wonderful things about this resort. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The restaurants and choice are excellent. We look forward to relaxation and were treated well. We would recommend this as the number one destination on the strip.

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Amazing Experience

My wife and I visited Barceló for our baby moon. We doth were impressed with how clean and beautiful the resort was. The food was great and the perks of being a premium guest was well worth it. The view and the beaches were beautiful. And I can not stop talking about the HUGE king size bed. I need it. I want it. I will have it. Thanks for wonderful memories.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: STAY AWAY

This is not a resort it's an old hotel. The food is so horrible you will have to go find food off resort. Cold, bland, no selection. Service in the buffets is horrible. Block 2 has a smoking section in front of it, great view of ocean but rooms are so old they are bad. Showers look disgusting, furniture handles fell off. And the noise from the pool area and night entertainment. And on the door side is street delivery trucks, cars thinking, dogs barking and music from the theatre till 1030pm.  [... read more]Block 3 is blocked by Block 1 but you will hear the theatre and the street and the pool noiseand shouting from microphone. The drinks unless u drink beer I never once had a buzz even after 10 mango margaritas..I don't drink tequila and if at home wowzer I'd be knocked out...but never did I once feel a buzz...so drink away those water drinks. No wifi unless you sit in lobby or lobby in block 4 Line up for a la carte every morning at 7am as the app doesn't work fir many people...good luck getting one at all. Entertainment was karaoke Mariachi band Trivia Unless you head to the theatre to see shows which were ok. Pools are clean and nice temp Beach was nice you can walk to Bucerias it's not far Prices in Bucerias are Gringo prices compared to other parts of mexico. Grocery store is expensive same prices as Canada..no savings Gotta get up at 6am to get a chair in the shade..good luck Get the InDrive app it's cheaper to book a ride with them Bucerias-PV cab is 550peso Indrive 250peso If you head to a restuarant or bar like jax the martini is $14 cad Went to a nice Italian restuarant on the water meal was $100 cad and that was with no drinks. Paco taco you can get a meal there for $10 The street bus on highway to sayulita was 30 peso each Avoid this resort save your cash and visit PV...you won't need cab and more nicer hotels.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Great Vacation at Bahia Luxury Akumal

Just returned from 2 weeks April 5th to 19th. Beautiful resort and very accommodating staff that worked so hard to make sure everything was in order. Special shout out to Mariah and Eric on the Entertainment Staff who where exceptional.

Allegro Cozumel: Beautiful location!

A beautiful location, beautiful beach and great snorkeling right from the resort. The resort was perfect for our multi generation vacation. Small enough to walk easily and find each other. Lots of deck chairs available around the pools and on the beach, never had a problem finding shady or sunny spots to relax. Tons of activities for all ages pool and beach volleyball, pool games, cornhole, darts, bingo and so much more. A games room for evening fun and entertaining shows. Food was good, buffet [... read more] was a bit repetitive but good and there was always a chef cooking a different fresh option each night. The a la carte meals were fantastic. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were small and a little dated, but kept clean and beds were comfortable. Each porch had hammock which was a nice touch. Cozumel airport was small and really easy to arrive at, only about 20mins to the resort.

Riu Santa Fe: Nice resort

Nice, very well organized, but very busy resort. Due to the crowding, the resort is not clean enough. There are too many guests, so the restaurants and pools are crowded. The quality and selection of food is great. The staff works hard.

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: An outstanding vacation

Grounds are beautiful, neatly manicured and clean. Rooms were updated, well thought out and comfortable. We backed onto a quiet mangrove on the north side of the resort in a King room. The resort does not provide screens on the sliding door which they recommend be kept closed due to wildlife. A Nespresso coffee machine a bar fridge filled with water, soft drinks, beer and snacks was a welcome addition. Got cream for the coffee from the coffee shop a couple of times. Food was generally very goo [... read more]d to excellent but could vary from day to day. Bar service around the pool was excellent. We rented bala beds for three days. Service was very friendly and top notch. They make a real effort to make sure you are happy. Coffee shop and staff were excellent. Treats and sandwiches available there were tasty. Buffet usually featured a theme like Mexican, Italian, French etc. Food was generally tasty but inconsistent and staff friendly. Coffee was better at the coffee shop. I enjoyed the smoothies in the morning and the omelets were popular. We could always find plenty to eat. Only downside is that the meat quality was sometimes not up to the standards set by the rest of the resort. The resort has three elevators. One was down all week. Thankfully the one in our building worked as we were on the third floor. If you smoke, no smoking allowed on balconies but they have two small smoking areas, one at the front of the resort and another near the beach. Smokers were underwhelmed by the smoking areas. There was always several types of entertainment available during the daytime from aqua fitness to games, acrobats, pickleball, beach volleyball and a supervised trip to a cenote area, etc. The resort had a very good entertainment team. Drinks were above average but mixes tended to be sugary. Like in many resorts, real juice was often a struggle to get. Many top shelf brands available but Jägermeister was nowhere to be found. Snack bar on the beach had delicious options - the Zilara burger and fries were very tasty after the cenote walk.. Lolas beach front restaurant was pleasant and offered seafood with a Mexican flair. We had a late dinner at the Capri Grille (Italian) on the first night and everything was five star including presentation, food quality and taste. Interestingly, during our last night, the Capri Grille was subpar by contrast. The parmesan was missing from the previously delicious risotto and it was sitting in water. My New York Strip steak was undercooked to my medium well done ask and mainly fat. Only 20% was edible. I should have returned it for replacement or alternative The caprese salads were much larger and inconsistently cut so it seems the staffing in the kitchen was far less capable than the first night (vacation? holiday weekend?). Pool was clean but a tad cool (we did have some below average temperature nights) and the resort is on the best stretch of beach in the local area. Unfortunately, Sargassum arrived one month early this year which made ocean swimming hit and miss. They do however do a great job of keeping the beach clean. Loungers were always available as long as you didn't want to be on the edge of the pool and towels were usually neatly laid out in the morning so we fortunately didn't have to deal with towels or a towel card. A nice touch. The resort is adults only and is a quaint smaller size. We enjoyed our trip and would go back if we can get a similar off season deal. Otherwise, the resort is a bit on the expensive side. Apart from the freshly renovated rooms and infrastructure, the staff stands out for their friendliness, service orientation and attention to details. Every single interaction with staff was commendable, a feature which definitely sets the resort apart.
