Platinum Yucatan Princess: Generally amazing, subject to some minor irritations
We were extremely pleased with this resort. It was very clean, safe and comfortable. We found the buffet had the best food overall. My wife is celiac and the manager Mario was extremely conscientious about making sure her dietary needs were accommodated. It was really nice to be able to dine out and not have to stress about gluten. I would say that the food handling overall was excellent. This is the first time we have been to a Caribbean resort and not had diarrhea. The grounds were lai [... read more]
Riu Palace Riviera Maya: Beautiful resort all the way
It’s what we needed to relax and enjoy everyday to the fullest. The staff was so caring and attentive to our needs. The food was so delicious and plentiful. The room was 100% excellent. We will definitely recommend this resort to all of our friends.
Riu Palace Riviera Maya: A paradise of dreams come true
From the moment we arrived, our stay was 100% amazing. The entire staff a big 2 thumbs up. Would recommend this oasis to all our friends. The service top notch and the rooms very elegant and modern. A resort to visit.
Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Enjoyed our stay
The blue bay is beautiful. It seems like and wcoresort with its " jungles" and waterways everywhere. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They enhance your stay. They are quick to accommodate you and ever pleasant. The food is easily the best we've ever experienced on resorts. They do not run short and there is a good variety. We so enjoyed the buffet that we didn't even try the a la Cartes. Also, they mix great drinks! The downfall is the beach; it is nice, but the water off of it [... read more]
Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Value for Money
What worked well 1). Food options are good with variety of meals & food items. We found buffet better than dinner restaurants 2). Resort is big hence be ready to walk or use resort rides 3). Drinks are fine but not great but many options available 4). Pools are big and clean 5). Overall service is good, staff is respectable with courtesy What Didn't work well 1). Rooms aren't new, you can see mold on roof/wall or in bathroom mirror, smoking stink , some may have lizards 2). Bad [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Ups and downs
In general it was a good stay - I could be convinced to go back to this hotel, but there are some problems that need to be addressed. The theme of this experience is friendly but ineffective. I'm expecting the hotel to just respond with. Thanks for leaving a comment but not actually doing anything to Make meaningful changes or effort to earn back our trust. Rooms I was put in one of the older rooms. It was much larger than I had expected but also had some problems with it. My main issue w [... read more]
Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Family friendly resort
Friendly staff work hard to help you enjoy your stay in this gorgeous resort. Enter from the open air lobby, through pillared walkways, down winding paths surrounded by lush vegetation, into airy immaculate rooms and massive pool area, we were wowwed. The beach was also wide and lovely, and the waters fun to body surf through. There is food for every taste, and options from buffet and open air seating, to more formal dining rooms. Be sure to try some side excursions to learn more about Mexic [... read more]
Catalonia Yucatan: Great Value, fun times!
Our first time to Mexico. This resort was a great size and with its sister resort, the Riviera Maya, there were good choices for food, drinks and pools. The beach is a little small and a little rocky. There is a breakwater, so the waters are typically calm for swimming, and there is a reef to snorkel right off the resort beach. The resort is dated, but the rooms were comfortable and clean. The resort is close to some fun spots to do excursions, i.e. Xcaret and Rio Secreto.
Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Vacation
Food was great especially the fruit and the Tala Indian Restaurant. Great for families, always something to do! The insight shows were good also, coffee in the lobby was great. Some things overpriced though. $26 for a small ball to through in pool etc
Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Truly a 5 star resort
From the moment we were greeted at the door to the moment we left, everything was 5-star at this resort. The entertainment around the pool was exceptional, including Israel, Carlos, so many others. Incredible dancers, all of them, and so pleasant. The saxophonist, violinist, guitar player were exceptional. And the food! Oh my God! Just delicious. We also took in all the evening shows and particularly loved the Three Tenors.
Ocean Maya Royale: Nice resort
My son and I went on a week long trip together at the Ocean Maya Royale. The grounds are beautiful, the beach was great to the right of the pools. (In front of the volleyball net). We found the other part not as nice due to the seawall that they have built I assume to protect the beach. The food was fairly good. I enjoyed getting a nice cappuccino from Mike’s coffee house each morning. The store had nice shopping. We didn’t see the shows. Only issue we had was we got pretty bad food poison [... read more]
Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: Wonderful resort.
The Hyatt Zilara is a beautiful medium sized resort. It is a well maintained facility in a natural setting. The food was excellent, Staff were fantastic, hard working and very polite. The beach was well maintained however lacked sufficient shade areas to sit/lounge and relax for the day. 7days would be perfect. We went for 10 days and found the resort on the small size to explore beyond 7 days. The night entertainment was good but usually finished by 9:00pm.
Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Good times for all ages!
Beautiful resort. Lots of options for food, pools,/waterpark/lazy rivers and the beach was great and easily swimmable. Took advantage of an excursion which was worth the extra $$. Lots of nice people and the place was hopping ! It was completely booked up(busy time of the year) . They left a lovely little cake for my bday in our room. Sweet surprise! Very clean and well attended resort . The staff were very helpful. Wished we had the 2 queen beds that we booked instead of the king and a pull out [... read more]

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Barceló Maya Tropical
Forth time visiting will be back for a fifth! Clean and Fun!! Great value and the food is very good, pools are clean and we were with 4 other couples everyone loved it! Rooms are bathrooms are clean and the grounds are magnificent!
Selection Riviera Cancun: Great relaxing resort!
Hotel was very clean and the rooms/ patio were larger than most. Buffet was mediocre but the other ala carte restaurants were very good. Service was good. Quite resort, which is what we were looking for this trip. Terrible beach but the pools were good.
Barcelo Maya Palace: Incredible trip
Best hotel I’ve stayed at yet! We stayed in an oceanfront room. Beautiful room, gorgeous grounds- the staff work very hard to make everything perfect. The buffet and a la cartes were delicious and had an amazing assortment of Mexican cuisines- the children’s section had a great assortment as well. I would recommend this resort in an instant.
Barcelo Maya Caribe: Nice resort!
Our second trip to Barcelo Caribe. Large resort with lots to do. Beautiful grounds, well maintained. Standard room basic and had everything we needed. Beach is long with some Sandy and some rocky parts. Was a very windy week for us so ocean good for wave jumping but not great for snorkelling or water sports. Nice volleyball courts, pickleball courts and corn Hole. This trip was in March which we would NOT do again. Spring breakers from the US were loud partiers. We got no sleep for 2 days and th [... read more]
Barcelo Maya Caribe: Impressive Resort
This was our first time at a large resort and loved all the activity options, the beautiful grounds, excellent restaurants, pools and beach front, walking paths and weather! The mall area and Mexican market were also a great evening option to stroll through.
Generations Riviera Maya: Very disappointed
We are a family of 4 . 2 adults and 2 teenage kids . There is absolutely nothing to do after 9:30.pm ant the hotel. Entertainment if you can call it that is at 8:30 and ends 9:15. There is nothing at the hotel after 9:30 not even a bar or coffee shop open. No music NOTHING. Only 3 restaurants one of them has only Indian food. If you are not a fan of that you are left with 2 restaurants for which you have to make reservations. This resort is popular with weddings . We were woken up at 9AM be [... read more]
