Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing Resort!

We loved our stay at Bahia Principe Ambar. This is an adult resort and all the hotel staff are geared to making this a top notch experience. The grounds are impeccable and the newly renovated rooms with swim out options are wonderful. The food in the restaurants within this resort are gourmet and excellent. We loved the outdoor breakfast and lunch cafe, Las Brisas, which overlooks the beach. Great food here as well. The bar in the lobby made all kinds of specialty drinks which we enjoyed.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Resort

Had a great time at the resort. It is well maintained and clean. Any staff we met were very friendly and welcoming. They really could not have been nicer. The food was very good and had many choices. Our room was kept clean. Overall we would definitely stay again

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Worst experience we've ever had

Deplorable customer service ... "It's not my problem" was an actual reply from a restaurant manager that best sums up their policy. Raccoons sifting through garbage in the hallway outside our room that was left there for 3 consecutive days. FIVE scheduled pickups that didn't show up at this ridiculously massive and spread out resort. Construction their own staff seemingly wasn't aware of. Food being recycled to the point of drying out, yet they STILL wouldn't discard it. Toilet, hot water,  [... read more]electrical and phone issues in extremely dated rooms. This was the only time in 20 years we've wanted to leave a "vacation" days early.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Excellent resort!!

We had a great time specially the Entertainment team. A big thumbs up to Nadiuska, Yefrey, Starlin, Chocolate and Wesley.The resort was great and the food was pretty good too. Staff at this resort was attentive and always ready to help. Thanks Kathleen Emmans (Trip Central) for recommending us this resort. You were a great help too. I will definitely call you for our next trip.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Large resort......too large

The hotel in itself was very nice, the food was great, rooms were decent, however a bit older looking. We stayed in adult section bldg. 8300 in Akumal resort part. The adult portion was very quiet in the most part and the restaurant for the section was very nice. Overall, the good/bad are as follows: 1. Staff are extremely friendly; maids, butlers, waiters etc. The front desk and customer service staff are TERRIBLE. They are rude, inflexible and do not know how to come across as friendly [... read more] or accommodating. They need customer service training badly. 2. As mentioned, the resort overall is beautiful; food was good , grounds kept well. Biggest issue we found was it was too big. Bahia resort in Akumal is made up of 4 large resorts plus private condo developments and golf course. There is no synergy at all between the resorts as you are allowed access everywhere and cannot tell which resort you are in at any time. Shuttles are required everywhere to be taken. It is confusing and difficult to get your bearings. Staff is confused as well. 3. Resort does not do a good job of putting out daily activities. We were looking at evening shows with a Mexican flavor; our resort Akumal had none, but found out on the last day that Coba resort had lovely courtyard entertainment every night. This was very poorly put forward to the guests and they are in dire need of a communications strategy for their guests. 4. Beaches on property were underwhelming. The pictures show them as beautiful, but when you arrive, you have large black balloons filled with sand in the water keeping crashing waves from coming ashore. Mostly rocky beach. This is not a natural sand beach. This part was very disappointing and feel cheated by website and trip central for recommending this property. 5. Lastly, we have travelled to many properties over the years and we felt Bahia was not amongst the best we have visited.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Very pleasant resort

Ground beautiful and well kept. Hotel very clean. Staff very friendly. Beds too hard and pillows terrible. Food adequate. Lots to choose from. A La Carte’s very good. Beach glorious. Manager Fernelis was very accommodating and helpful to improve sleeping arrangements and pillow top offered. Really it was just a mattress cover. Very low key. Great for families and entertainment less than adequate.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Amazing Family resort

Everything about this resort was absolutely top notch. This place came recommended by Tina at Trip Central. The hotel was busy and we still lots of food and everything was still very clean. They have a waterpark for kids with multiple slides for all different ages. The only thing is they don't have a swim up bar. My daughter had a blast bring and make sure to bring snorkeling gear.

Great beach, snorkelling. Rooms clean and spacious.Good family resort but limited actives for non family groups.Food ok but unable to book a la carte restaurants as per trip booking. Little help for same at the resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: No better vacation than any other average 3.5 - 4 star resort

I would start out by saying that I have traveled extensively and have visited numerous all inclusive resorts, almost 50. The Grand Bahia Principe Akumal is part of 3 other resorts on the property, therefore it is huge, so be prepared to walk a lot or wait for the trolley. The staff who operate the trolley are good but they cannot be everywhere all the time. Staff - Good and very prompt and polite as most Mexican people are. They are extremely hard working and legitimately kind. No servers ar [... read more]ound the pools which I found odd. Grounds - large, beautiful, and well maintained. Akumal patrons were allowed access to all the other resorts, but it seemed so were the Tulum patrons. Regardless of this, the pool at the Akumal is designed to be quiet with no music and it is small and has very little seating. The Tulum has the best pool as I went to both Sian Kaan and the Coba. The buildings are a bit dated now as parts of the resort were closed for renovation. During my entire stay the Akumal Lobby was closed. Imagine the hub of the resort closed and I only found out a day prior to my departure. No, I would not have booked it knowing that. Be aware that many parts of this resort will be closed at different times over the next few months to a year. A little deceiving on their part. Beach - is not very good for walking or swimming. It is rocky and there was hardly anyone in the water. One spot was okay to snorkel and fish watch, but overall not a great piece of the beach. Rooms - what you would expect. large enough and nice enough but showing signs of age as is the balcony. I requested a specific building but of course I ended up with one of the worse buildings and rooms as I could not see anything from my balcony. I traveled alone and was not treated very well considering I paid $500 more as a single traveler. I should also mention that I was a repeat guest which meant nothing. Restaurants - Buffet was ok and the a la cartes were a bit better. Not bad, not great, average I would say. Solo travelers get stuck in the corner every time unless you speak up. Second class citizens so to speak. Remember I paid more, but in there eyes they got less out of me and my room as dbl occupancy is preferred.Customer is always right remember. I know it is the management who tell the staff where to sit singles, but I did not like it as most wouldn't. I was not checked on as much either and I am a huge tipper to the point of ridiculous. Bars - Well they did have some better liquor but I noticed that the drinks were light when you asked for them, so I had to ask for a double. Keep your eye on them they are obviously being told to be careful with the premium liquor. The sports bar was one of the best I have seen and it was a good environment especially with no lobby bar. All that is on however is soccer and I do not watch that game. Transportation - on the way there, it was a large bus with a washroom which makes sense. On the way back they packed 12 adults into a van with no washroom for a 1.5 shuttle to the airport. Remember some drank too much the night before, others had too much heat, and others had food issues. You understand what I am saying I think. Air transat flight was acceptable but is bare bones. Same overpriced food and of cafeteria quality. Check accuracy of baggage weights fyi. I have a serious airborne allergy that was to be reported to air transat via trip central, but for the second time in a row it wasn't so I had to do it myself and have people stare at me and groan. Not sure if it was Air Transat who screwed up or Trip Central but it is a serious matter. It should be the first announcement as well. SO OVERALL JUST OK WITH MANY DISAPPOINTMENTS. MAYBE VISIT THIS RESORT IN A YEAR OR TWO WHEN RENOS ARE COMPLETE. OTHER ISSUES HAVE TO BE ADDRESSED BY AIR TRANSAT, TRIP CENTRAL AND GRAND BAHIA RESORT.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Above and Beyond Experience

The grounds are so lush and well-kept. The staff was always fun and friendly. The food was incredible and the buffet was always different, unlike some all-inclusives we've been too. The beach was always clean and never crowded. We will be back!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Was not the same as 4 yrs ago

I travelled to this resort 4 yrs ago with my husband and it was terrific. This time I travelled with my 18 yr old son for a break from school. We asked for a room with two beds. We did not get that request and when we asked to change rooms they showed us room that faced another building. When I mean facing another building I mean 5 feet away. It’s great cause your close to the beach but your facing the kiddie area so screaming begins in the morning then and night the disco is just down the street so you get drunks screaming until 2am. So we did not get much sleep. The resort food was good so 4 stars for food. Maid service was not great. Since we did not have two beds my son slept on the couch so I gave him my blanket and a pillow. I asked the maid could she pls bring me a blanket. It was not until two days till she stated she could find one. My experience I would rate 3out of 5. Food was good room was nice

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Very nice place

The resort was impeccable. Service was excellent, food was great. The beach could have been nicer. Entertainment each evening was of low quality. The housekeepers did a good job, the rooms were well cleaned.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Delightful holiday viewing humpback whales

Visiting this resort for the second time in three years, we found it better on this occasion. Better food, drinks, warm ambiance, and excellent service with most all requests met. The main beach area is improved. Visiting to do the Whale Samana tour with Kim was outstanding! Whale viewing season mid-January until late March. We may return and stay for two weeks rather than 10 days. Recommended.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing Resort!

Stayed at the Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda for 9 days from February 24th to March 4. Resort is definitely a 5*. Rooms are beautiful and very clean. Food was great. Lots of food choices. Although there were lots of restaurants to choose from, we decided to dine in the Buffet restaurants. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff are excellent and very friendly. We would definitely return to this resort.

Everything at this resort was spectacular other than having to make reservations for meals at restaurants that was impossible to get into. You would have to reserve online several weeks before going.

As it was my partner's first all inclusive, I really wanted it to be amazing. He was very pleased as was I. From the rooms to the staff and the food. From the beach to the pool. Everything was top notch.

The Hotel really is beautiful, very clean! Which was my main concern. The food was fabulous which was my second concern; and being that we were there (2 females without a male) I had a bit of fear for safety, but I can say it felt very safe right from the start. But what did happen was very unexpected because I’ve never experienced any “bumps” in the roads on any other vacations I’ve been on, I’m adding this to my review because I did read many of them before going and never seen anyt [... read more]hing on mishaps which if I would have I could have better prepared myself by asking more questions, and having back up plans in place. So first off, our connector flight was cancelled due to weather so we scrambled to get to Toronto from Windsor to catch the main flight, then when we got there they told us that our whole trip was no longer in the system!! Ugh so we had to be re ticketed and called the hotel to make sure they still had us on the books, all worked out but very stressfully, then when we got to the hotel we had a beautiful room with a great view but it only had one bed, which I booked two beds so I brought this to the attention of the folks at the front desk, they moved us the next day and all seemed well, except the view wasn’t that great we were now looking at the resort next to ours, and it was actually the break area and loading dock of the resort next to ours, so I wasn’t happy but thought well no big deal, then the first night the noise of the workers on break and the trucks coming and going, idling , and beeping when backing up kept me up for hours, I mentioned this to the front desk and they were willing to move us again but it just seemed to be too much to go through again, they ended up compensating us with a bottle of rum and a couple of travels mugs (better than a kick in the pants) so we just decided to deal with the noise, and make the most of it. To sum it all up we enjoyed every minute of the vacation, regardless of the mishaps, next time I will confirm prior to going that we are getting what we ordered. Life is too short to let the little things wreck the big picture 😁 Hope this review is helpful
