Jewel Paradise Cove: Jewel Paradise Cove - A Hidden Gem!!!

The hotel is about 80 minutes from Montego Bay airport and after our flight landed we went through customs which I'm sad to say was horrific and then sat on the bus for well over an hour before we left. It was frustrating because we were so tired from a long day of travelling and of course the heat but when we arrived at the hotel we were welcomed with a refreshing drink and a cold towel which was really nice. Check in went quickly and smoothly and we were in our room in no time. We did not have [... read more] bracelets at this property but did have towel cards. The rooms are spacious with lots of drawers, a nice size closet, a king size bed and a modern bathroom. The mattress was very firm to firm actually but you are only in there to sleep so no biggie. The shower was very big however as other reviews mention it did leak water on the floor. Not a huge problem as I found turning the shower head to the wall significantly reduced the amount of water that ended up on the floor. After unpacking we roamed around the property and we honestly have never been greeted by so many people as we have here. Every worker on the resort said hello in fact the lifeguard grabbed us menus and told the waitress we were waiting to eat. Unbelievable service. All staff we encountered from the entertainment crew to servers/waitress/waiters, maids, cooks, groundskeepers all were extremely friendly. Special thanks to Merric Adam's for our delicious omelettes and friendly smile/conversation every morning. There is a water slide on the property, a number of jacuzzis, a disco and a gym. The property is well manicured and smaller than what we are used to but was well mapped out and easy to navigate. One downfall is there are no elevators. We were on the 3rd floor and carrying our luggage up and down was tough so if you have mobility issues make sure you request a room on the 1st floor. The food was delicious from the Jerk hut on the beach to the buffet and the a la cartes. Our favourite a la carte was Japanese and a shout out to Blackie Chan for cooking our amazing meal as well as his entertainment. The drinks were quite tasty and I have to say my new favourite drink is Jamaican Jam - yeah mon lol. We did not do any excursions as this is our 5th trip to Jamaica but if you have never been to Jamaica I would recommend visiting Dunns River Falls and also a day trip to Negril to Rick's Cafe to watch the cliff diving and also the pristine beaches on the 7 mile. Overall we really enjoyed our trip and would recommend this resort to our friends and family. We hope to return very soon.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Couples paradise!

I couldn't find one thing wrong with this hotel and location. The hotel was spotless. They clean your room in the afternoon and turn down your room everynight. The security was great! Felt really safe. Every floor had its own buler! Food, food and more food. Outdoor buffet at the pool for us that don't want to get changed or cover up. Huge in indoor buffet. The entertainment was ok but could have lasted longer then 11pm but they had golf carts shuddles to the village where they had a disco and kereoke every night. The drinks were made fast and I was never obligated to tip. Overall a great trip!!

Shaw Park: Shaw Park, Ocho Rios

Arrived last Sat night, went to room put luggage inside changed got ready for dinner, go to order a drink and they have NO COKE, NO RUM, CANT GET BOB MARLEY DRINK, CANT GET A DIRTY BANANA the only alcohol they had was GIN, VODKA or PEACH SNAPS WHEN THEY DIDNT RUN OUT OF THAT!!!! and went back to room. Next morning get up go for breakfast and took a walk around the resort and started to ask questions and come to find out NO SWIMMING POOL or ENTERTAINMENT AND NO BUFFET AND AGAIN NO RUM THAT WE WE [... read more]RE TOLD......come to find out after our third day they DO HAVE WHITE RUM HIDDEN UNDER THE COUNTER BUT NO COKE TO MIX WITH!!!! Not to impressed at all. Come Wed night around 11:30 I woke up to the smell of smoke and a gas type fume and soaked in sweat cause our Air Conditioner STOPPED WORKING and went to the front desk to get asked if there was a problem......I said yes my air conditioner stopped working and Im very hot and cant sleep....he replied we had a little issue...I said what is the issue he then replied by saying there was a FIRE.....AND NO ALARMS WENT OFF AT ALL!!!!!!!! NO INTERNET NO CABLE NO WATER!!!! ALL NIGHT NOTHING BUT HOT UNCOMFORTABLE ALL NIGHT. He said he didnt want to alarm anyone and will attend to it in the morning. Me being half asleep I went back to the room and my husband asked me why does it smell like smoke and some type of gas fume for and I told him there was a fire but its out now and we went back to sleep;. The next morning my husband went to get ready and washed up and blew his nose and NOTHING BUT BLACK CAME OUT OF HIS NOSE FOR OVER ONE HOUR!!! My husband has COPD and has trouble breathing and to breath in smoke for over 10 hours ISNT GOOD FOR ANYONE NEVER MIND HIM WITH A LUNG DISEASE.....my husband went up to the front and asked them whats going on and they said they would be relocating us and they did around 9:30 and they moved us all the way to block three where there is nothing!!!! We then had a long walk to get to the bar...if you want to call it a bar if we wanted a drink and where we had to eat breakfast lunch and dinner.......OR FOR TEA TIME!!! Was not impressed at all for paying 2860.00 for us to go on a terrible trip and may I add its my husbands first time with me in 23 yrs....my forth time and I have never experienced any thing like this before. One day there was only 4 of us tourists on the WHOLE RESORT. IT WAS AN EXTREMELY BORING TRIP. They had buffet when the tourists came off the cruise ships for lunch or dinner and WE DID NOT KNOW TILL WE WENT TO EAT!!!! The only two times one person was singing to music was when they had people come from the cruise ships. The only thing good was the food!!!!! Everything else sucked and I wouldn't go back if you paid me to!!!! The store we had to walk to, to get some COKE and PEPSI was 15 mins away. And NO SHOPPING AROUND CLOSE FOR GIFTS!!!!! Riu Negril: Ya Mon Jamaica

We recently stayed at the Riu Negril the resort was amazing. The people are the best part of Jamaica. Curtis and Natalia took really good care of us at the Main Bar making our trips a positive experience that we always looked forward too. The Resort always has events happening if you like to keep busy or you can either hang at the pools or the ocean. The Food was great with lots of variety. Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall: Great resort!

The grounds are immaculate and very well laid out. Love that there is an adult side as well. Service was great and everyone was very friendly. Beach is great too with enough loungers for everyone. Would go again!

Excellence Oyster Bay: Amazing hotel!

Can't say enough about this hotel. The grounds are immaculate, all around you see ocean everywhere you turn. The cleanliness exceeded my expectations, the staff was on top of their game. Food was great, lots of options. My husband and I were very impressed with this resort and do plan to go back.

Sandals Dunn's River: Great Service, ok food

This hotel is located in Ocho rios, first thing you need to know is that is 2 hours away from the airport so my first recommendation will be, leave on a weekday, airport isn't as busy and you get faster to the hotel. The hotel is pretty, and big enough. Have 1 buffet restaurant and 3 special ones. You only need to make reservation for the Japanese restaurant and you can do it the first night you arrived. The food in all of those restaurants are very good, very tasty and full of flavour. But what is absolutely amazing is the service. EVERYBODY is friendly, respectful, no one push you to do anything you don't want (like participate on the hotel activities). This is the most valuable thing this hotel have. I will recommend a couples massage, we had one and it was fantastic. The beach is very pretty, like any other Caribbean beach. P.s if you go to the Italian restaurant ask for the lamb chops, best thing ever!!

Dreams Rose Hall: Wonderful vacation

The Rose Hall Hilton did not disappoint. It was obvious that every effort was being made to present the resort as an outstanding vacation destination. The setting was beautiful, the rooms were nicely decorated, spacious and clean. All public areas were well maintained, food was excellent and offered good variety. We really appreciated the theme days/nights and the high quality of the entertainment. The customer service was exceptional. Grand Muthu Runaway Bay Club Caribbean: Good Resort-had fun

Every room is a cabana, which I thought was cool! The grounds were well maintained- there were always workers around. And the hammocks along the one side were great to lounge in!! Typical island food at the buffet every day. Bit of variety, but basaically the same items every day. Beaches were great- there were 3 separate beaches, so there were always chairs and umbrellas available- bonus! AC in my cabana worked wonderfully. Always had hot water for my shower. Staff is friendly...very friendl [... read more]y if you're a single woman 😉 Good excursions offered at reasonable prices. Went in June, was hot every day and not a drop of rain for the entire week! Would definitely return to this resort, I think.

Catalonia Montego Bay: GREAT RESORT!

The hotel was nice and our room was spacious, just the bathroom a bit small and needs some minor renovations. The grounds are well kept they have an adult side to the beach and they have the family side which is nice to know. On the grounds they have about 3 or 4 different bar locations as well as a jerk chicken and jerk pork hut, and an ice cream, hotdogs and other finger food hut, they also have another hut for burgers and fries, fish and chips. The staff are great, believe it or not they remembered my name and I found that to excellent. The hotel has a main dinning room as well as about 5 or 6 fine dining restaurants on location and the food is excellent in all of them as we tried all of them for dinner. The beach is very nice and clean and the hotel has a large spread of the beach, so there is beach for everyone if you want quiet you can find that as well as fun.

Sandals Dunn's River: Liked but didn’t love

I just came back from a 7 night trip to the jewel Dunn’s river resort and spa. The food was great and the spa was incredible. If you plan on booking a trip here you absolutely need to visit the spa. Upon arrival we were greeted with a drink called the Jamaican Gem, that became my drink of the week! This is not a party resort, but if you’re looking to relax on a quieter resort this is the place. The entertainment was good but there were only 5 entertainers, I would have liked to have more of them. The bartenders were great and always had new recommendations for us which was nice. Our sandals were stolen at the pool so I guess it’s not a great idea to leave anything unattended. Locals looking to sell products are allowed right on the resort so you will feel pressure to buy something. There are also locals right at the fence line whistling and yelling to try to get you attention, we didn’t love that.

the hotel was very nice and great to enjoy the stay.The only thing was the room that we reserved before we got there was switch to another person that wanted to be switched rooms.Got a room and only to find out was taken and again got another after all that.

Fun Holiday Beach Resort: Nightmares

The hotel was dirty, smelled like mould, had insect guts on walls, found cockroaches, same sheets on bed all week, housekeeping was inadequate, dirt under bed never cleaned, No WIFI, food was nasty with flies constantly on it, food was the same everyday, there were no variety of food dishes, chicken was served everyday, uncooked ( pizza made on a grill) pizza, no salad options other than dry coleslaw and macaroni salads daily, no variety of fruits: guava, watermelon and pineapple every day not o [... read more]ne mango, orange. No fresh fish, once a regional food dish of Ackee and COD was served after I complained, however there was no cod. I would not send an enemy to this supposed resort

Couples Swept Away: We Love This Resort!

Lots of great things about this resort: beach is priceless - gradual Entry into turquoise waters, rooms and grounds are 4 star, there are two pools - one is busier but fun and the other is quiet and very few people. Service at the a la carte restaurants is fantastic, buffet servers are average. Nightly entertainment is late for us, but it’s very good.

Excellence Oyster Bay: 5 star luxury, fabulous resort!!

A TON of restaurants and food options, food is amazing!!! 5 star service all around--friendly staff. Great Drinks menus and lots of premium brand drinks Hotel is new and all areas, grounds are immaculate - very clean!! 24 hr Room service and in room minibar is amazing!! Rooftop infinity pool has a mind blowing view of the ocean, with great rooftop lounge and bar. Hobie cat is super fun, great captain guide Beach is super close to most rooms at the resort

Couples Sans Souci: Great resort great vacation

The staff were excellent. Plenty of restaurants and bars. The food was flavorful and plentiful. Room service was easy and a great way to start the day before relaxing by the pool. Entertainment was varied, something for everyone. Fun interaction with entertainment staff. Overall, whatever our needs, they were met to the best of staff's abilities.

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Had a good week!

We had a good week at this resort. We originally booked a premier room and upgraded to an ocean front junior suite upon arrival. I would highly recommend. Staff were great, very friendly. Food was good. Japanese and Italian were you our favourite. Buffet could be better. Soft ice cream was great! Kids loved it. For the price, good vacation. Francine Small cleaned our room all week and she was amazing! My daughter loved the daily animals made of towels! Water park was fun but tended to be crowded [... read more] with local school kids most days. Unsure if due to end of school year? Breakfast was extremely crowded on Sunday as well. Overall good experience.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: WILL NOT RECOMMEND ,VERY BAD EXPERIENCE

My honest opinion on this place , the hotel is ok, the ground is ok , eating area is ok , the buffet area and the swim up bar however is the dirtiest than i have ever seen the way the food and spoons are kept is very nasty , food not appealing turn off from eating , limit of fruits and oranges, no ginger ale drink in that place , the late night buffet food is for dogs only, i can go on just because i traveled to different places and this is by far the worse,****WILL NOT RECOMMEND TO NO ONE THAT  [... read more]I KNOW.******Got sick there and not much help not even from the doctor at the privet hospital in Montego Bay , almost died , had to rush back to Canada Thanks
