Hotel Playa Paraiso: Playa Fun
Please educate yourself about Cuba prior to traveling. Our resort was limited on handing out water bottles, sometimes you had to take the back off the toilet to flush, food was ok, no beer in your room fridge. These are issues consistent with traveling to Cuba. Otherwise, you get an amazing beach, moderate facilities, and an amazing trip. The staff may be interpreted as stand-off'sh, but once you show them that your not an idiot, they are awesome.
Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Not quite 5-star yet!
In terms of Covid, there were no issues and we were quite impressed that all staff, even the gardner working on his own, was masked at all times. They were more strict than we are in Ontario. In terms of the resort, being brand new, everything was nice and shiny but some construction mistakes or issues were seen after a bit of rain (flooding). Heard of some water problems and plumbing problems in some rooms, but we had none. Pool was disappointing as it grew algae every day and was very [... read more]
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Awesome!
I would recommend this resort to anyone! Great Beach! Great service! Food is your typical fare, you will not starve. Bed was great! The four la carte restaurants were amazing. The food was so good! I loved the little townhouses all around the property! We booked Superior ocean view and we got superior ocean view. Our walk out patio, ground floor, 5 feet from the ocean! Can't ask for anything better! Only wrinkle was Sunwing and the long delay in our flight home...
Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Resort almost not worth your money
So, we stayed for 7 days in April second half. The positive sides are: n ice nature, flower planting in area, sea water and water colour amazing, people very friendly. The negative aspects - inconsistent service, and supply with anything Cuba doesn't grow themselves. Restaurant, one, buffet style, once it gets dark outside, lighting is almost non-existant, can't see what youy put in your mouth. The serving counters are lit tho. Three restaurants that one needs a reservation for. Those [... read more]
Gran Muthu Imperial: Marginal
Service could improve greatly Food was marginal and not a stretch to say the hot dogs and fries were the best menu item anywhere Good facility and pools Bars were decent Rooms were good Beds comfortable Went to the Mexican restaurant and food and wine terrible
Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Fantastic Staff, Beach and Pools!
Our trip to Cayo Coco this April 2022 was great, staff all wear masks, guests are only asked to wear them around the buffets. Anybody planning to go to Cayo Coco for a family vacation, I would recommend!
Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Such Wonderful Staff
We love this place so much. The staff are so friendly and work so hard to make sure you’re happy with your vacation. We noticed a few shortages this trip, compared to pre-Covid, but nothing that really affected the quality of our stay. The Covid protocol was adhered to by the staff and guests, and I felt very safe there. The beach is fabulous, our room was clean, and the grounds were gorgeous. We will definitely go back again.
Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Not the same
My family went to Memories 4 years ago. We liked it a lot so decided to go back this year. It was not the same. We were told that the government now runs it and it was somehow let to run down. Never enough bath towels, water bottles or toilet paper in the room. The pool bar and beach bar ran out of alcohol?!? The food was, well still to be expected in Cuba but much fewer options. They ran out of food at the beach grill. Only once did they have hamburgers to pick up at that grill. The b [... read more]
Gran Muthu Imperial: Trip April 2022
My friend and I went to the Grand Muthu Imperial April 10-17 this year. 2 girls that work together to hang out and relax. We had a great time. Rooms were clean, service great. We were entertained and the staff was very friendly! The food was good, always something to choose from. They have the best roasted pumpkin! Omg and their ice cream! Yum, only time I eat it is when I’m in Cuba! The ocean and beaches are beautiful. If you a vacation with no faults go somewhere else and pay a ridiculous [... read more]
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: A wonderful week!!
This was our first time in Cayo Coco. The resort was perfect, the food was good, drink were good and the beach was simply amazing!!! After not traveling for 2 years, this resort was exactly what we were looking for… A nice relaxing vacation with a beautiful beach and wonderful staff!
Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Memories caribe Cayo coco
We were ther in January, 2020 and march 2022. We found that quite a bit changed since our last visit. The shows although still good we’re not they use to be. We found the food was ok but really lacking variety. The staff was still exceptional and helpful. The resort ran out of draft but provided cans, not quite as cold. They put nespresso coffee machines in the rooms but did not provide the coffee needed for them. Our room was fine but our friends did not have hot water, and our other friend [... read more]
Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: The Best Resort
My husband & I have been to Cuba annually since 2015. With exception for the past 2 years. Of all the hotels we have visited, Iberostar is the best by far. Such a quaint resort and close to all amenities. Staff is awesome and accomodating. Food is plentiful. Must try the grilled Lobster. Highly recommend visiting Playa Pilar. Will definetly be coming back.
Melia Cayo Coco: Great first trip at MCC
This was our first trip to the Melia Cayo Coco. It lived up to the reviews we read on Trip Advisor. Although small (250 rooms), and somewhat dated, it was well staffed, with amazing service. Plenty of options to eat with three A La Cartes, buffet, beach restaurant and the 24 hour poolside snack bar. The rooms were spacious and clean. We hope to return in the fall.
Melia Cayo Coco: Great Resort
Can't say anything negative about this resort. The food was good and the service excellant. The Cubans were very strict about masking and Covid procedures while inside. However, the tourists, about 95% Canadians were very lax when they they could be and both my wife and I tested positive for Covid upon our return to Canada.
Melia Cayo Coco: Love this resort!
The Melia Cayo Coco didn't disappoint. If you are looking for a small adults only resort this is should be on your list of resorts to visit. On top of the clean and convenient layout, the amazing beach, with the best food we have had in Cuba, the staff make this resort the best in all of Cuba. If you are looking for a late night party location, this is not the best option for you.
Gran Muthu Imperial: Newer Resort, Great Staff!
This is a fairly recently built resort, that’s well kept and in great condition. Location is beautiful, with infinity pool overlooking a scenic view. (additional pool behind) Very nice beach to left of the resort (not included in view from pools) The layout is convenient with everything close and easily accessible. The staff is what really makes this resort great for Cuba. They care about making your trip enjoyable, go above and beyond to help wherever possible. Can’t say enough good things [... read more]
Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Best Resort In All Of Cuba
The room was immaculate and everything was brand new. Our swim up room was lovely and the service was excellent. Our pool attendant would come over and move our umbrella to maximize the shade on our deck for us. The a la carte restaurants were great and the buffet had a small but great selection. The wine wasn't great at the start of the week but they got a new shipment midweek and it was significantly better. The grounds were very clean and safe. The snack bar had hand made pizzas to order that [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: Nice resort but serious water problems
The hotel was very clean, food was decent and staff overall was very friendly and the beach was AMAZING. However, we had major issues with our shower and getting our bottled water. Most days the shower had a very weak spray and was super hard to regulate. It was either scalding hot or cold; spent a lot of time trying to regulate it and when you finally did, the pressure was almost gone and down to a dribble. You had to remove it from the wall and lower it almost to the bottom of the tub so [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: Beautiful resort
Had a wonderful stay at this resort. Staff so very friendly. Food was great. The Cuban food was amazing. Only little downfall , our room card would not work. They came to fix it in good time. Had trouble with it on and off for the week. We managed. As for Covid protocol, they did everything very well. Masking while at the buffet. All staff wore mask at all times.
Hotel Playa Paraiso: Nice Resort, just a few issues
The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The resort was very clean and staff were friendly. The food was okay, typical for Cuba. I saw a few cockroaches in the buffet which I didn't like. There was not much in the line of entertainment at night and there really were no quiet spots or sitting areas if you wanted to get away from the noise but that really didn't bother me. They did their best in regards to COVID but not all guests complied and had to be told to put on a mask. The one thing t [... read more]
