Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: 5 star services

Oh, the beach, pool, music, dance, people...love Patriarca! My advice for purchasing souvenirs is in Varadero, not in the resort or the airport. Take advantage of the $5 pesos per day for unlimited trips to Varadero. Outside the resort you will encounter a washroom lady at the front for a fee to use the washroom. I realized later to get quarter coins for washroom use, or it will be too expensive to pee ( I paid a dollar at first). A quarter is a lot already for the locals to appreciate. Back [... read more] in the resort, unlimited drinks, wine, coffee, anywhere. Don't bother to bring a thermos as wherever you are there's a bar (lobby bar, piano bar, music bar, snack bar, pool bar, beach bar). One night my husband stayed at the lobby bar until it was closed at midnight. He came back complimenting the bartender on professional serving to the last minute, not showing any tiredness. The servers appreciated so much any tips received. One of them said "Sir, you are so kind!" when we tipped him specifically besides leaving an amount on the table. I wish to go back tell everyone that what makes me feel impressed is their services! BTW, we lost an article of luggage and the front desk knew how concerned we were, so when the phone rang st 11:50 pm the second night, we were so excited to learn that the luggage was located and delivered to the resort! We were there for the New Years Eve celebration. They offered their best foods besides decorating the buffet restaurant making us literally so touched as we saw how little the local Cuban had. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Lovely resort

Enjoyed the grounds, flowers, trees and shrubs and proximity to the beach. The resort was clean, staff friendly and helpful and food was pretty good for the most part in the buffet. The a la cart restaurants were less tasty-the only fault. Excursions were excellent, learned lots as tour guides were very informative.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Amazing beach and pool area

If you are looking for a resort with a fantastic beach and pool area this is the one. Food was better than anticipated. Lots of variety. Rooms need an update. Staff friendly. No complaints. Never seen water so clear and blue.

The most enjoyable part of the resort was the hotel staff -friendly, kind, easy to communicate with pleasant to be around. The resort itself is impressive with a beautiful lobby, clean pool, and gorgeous beach! The food was quite good at the buffet although after a week a little more variety would have been appreciated in the cold salad selection. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Fantastic customer service!

The resort is beautiful and the service in the lounge, the piano bar and mikes coffee show was amazing. We had a fantastic week. The weather was outstanding. Kudos to all rhe people who got the resort up and running again after the hurricane.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Incredible Getaway

Incredibly clean and all of the staff are very helpful and professional. We found a lot of the signage regarding restaurant hours or the location of the nightly show were incorrect and lead to a couple of minor disappointments, but definitely not a reason to not go. We enjoyed the beachside drink service and restaurant variety. The nightly shows were fairly entertaining (with a couple of terrible exceptions). Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Great Resort

Stayed at ocean coral and turquesa for a week and it was wonderful. the rooms are great and spacious, the beds are comfortable and the pillows are insane! would have taken them home if i could have. the beach is beautiful with white sand, and service on the beach! the swim up bar is great and speedy, and all of the restaurants were amazing. would recommend to anyone going!

Resort was wonderful! Privilege was worth every penny. Our butler,Ariz, took amazing care of us. We highly recommend the resort and the upgrade to privilege. Beautiful beach, beautiful resort and awesome service.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great Resort!!

Beautiful brand new resort with lots to do for everyone! Food was amazing and there were tonnes of options... Seems like a really great resort for families as well since there are lots for kids and adults to do. Wasn't a big fan of always trying to up sell on better liquor or wine at the restaurants, but I suppose that is how they make more money. I also thought that the spa was overpriced for what it is (the massages on the beach were much better). Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Wonderful Experience!

Lovely atmosphere, friendly service. Beautiful beaches and pools with drink services to each. Getting into restaurants for dinner was quite the wait but worth it once you’re in! Nightly entertainment was okay, some nights better than others.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: I had a great time.

I love this resort. The staffs were friendly, the room was big and clean. Food was good, we got to eat at a-la-carte restaurants every night. The food at the Daisy snack bar was excellent. My kids loved it. They enjoyed eating while swimming very much. The shows were good too. I loved the bowling. This is absolutely a 5-star resort. The only thing that I did not like about the resort was the beach. The beach was beautiful but there was a lot of rocks, but there is nothing we can do about it.  [... read more] Overall, this was an amazing all-inclusive trip. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: A 2 1/2 to 3* resort

Most disappointing were the rooms: poor lighting, poor a/c, coffee maker but no coffee or tea, refrigerator but with only 2/3 cans of drinks, poor toiletries such as no ear buds, shower cap, etc., toiletries won’t be replaced without asking, tv does not work, broken remote, towels have to be on the floor for them to be replaced, no pad or pen, etc.

I'm a loyal RIU hotel traveller and this resort provided all the amenities I needed. Wi-Fi all over resort and beach, room service and great food and service. Very clean and safe. The only thing that I would have liked was a little better entertainment at night

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: What a GEM

Grounds were well maintained. Pools were clean. Beach was very nice. Food was fantastic Drinks were plentiful (no hassles from bartenders) Staff was very friendly and helpful The only issue was the "Showtime Theatre" that was built near the rooms. This was somewhat loud and echoed throughout the courtyard where the rooms were situated; anyone wishing to turn in early was out of luck.

We had any amazing time at the Ocean Coral in Mexico. The room, food, entertainment, staff, beach and amenities were far beyond our expectations. This was our 7th visit to the Mayan coast but the 1st time to this resort. This is by far one of our favourite! We would go back in a flash to this resort!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Good Value

I took my grandsons (16 & 13) on their first trip south. We selected this resort for the beach and close proximity to Varedaro. Overall we were very satisfied with the value we received. Great beach, good rooms, good food, &great entertainment, Were pleasantly surprised to find out that their was no restrictions on the al la cart restaurants; you could go any evening.

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay at Ocean Riviera Paradise! The grounds were beautiful; very well kept; and clean. Staff was super friendly and engaging. We really enjoyed the food; especially our meals at Steakhouse and Blue Moon. We would love to return and will be recommending this resort to our friends and family.

Newer hotel. Great hospitality. Excellent surroundings.. great pool, bars and entertainment. Would suggest: workmanship in rooms not that great, bathrooms fitted with latest fittings but installed very poorly and least or no maintenance in the fixtures. Bath tubs, sink taps, standing showers everything needs attention but no proper check up and repair right away. English is a major obstacle despite maximum presence of Canadians in the resort. Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Ocean Casa Del Mar, Santa Maria, Cuba

This is the email I sent to the hotels General Manager on Dec.13 following our stay at the Ocean Casa Del Mar between Dec. 5 and Dec. 12. Good afternoon I just wanted to send you a message following our stay and our return home yesterday. First of all we did note that the food especially in the a la carte restaurant that was open during our stay was much better this year then our stay last year in November. The staff that we met and that waited on us where all 1st class. our rooms 0221/0223/0 [... read more]225 were kept clean and all of the rooms services worked very well. On the down side we were all bitten many times as were most guests at the resort by a over abundant amount of mosquitoes throughout the grounds. The spray that you use is most defiantly not a deterrent to them. Further yesterday morning a makeup mirror that was packed in one of our suitcases was stolen from our locked room 0223 when we went for breakfast between 7:30 and 8:30 prior to our departure from the resort at 9:00am. This is very disheartening after visiting Cuba close to 50 times over the past 25 plus years and never having anything stolen. We left many gifts for your staff as well as generous tips during our stay. It is unfortunate that one devious staff member can ruin it for all the honest hard working staff that you have. Hopefully you can find out who it was as we expect that this is something that they are doing on a regular basis. To date Dec.16 we have not heard back from the General Manager whom we personably met a the resort and who's email we have.
