Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Repeat Worthy Resort

Stayed at the Sol Rio de Luna y Mares in early Feb 2019. The resort was fantastic all the way around, the resort had a little something for everyone. The resort had 2 sections one being a little more quite then the other with a jazz bar and a laid back vibe, the other side was more upbeat and had most of the entertainment. Sol Turquesa Beach: Beautiful resort!

Memories in Holguin is a lovely resort! Several levels of pools and stairs that were landscaped and well taken care of. Staff was friendly and helpful and the food was plentiful! It was repetitive but not unexpected. Cooks were friendly and very willing to prepare the food our way. The beach was beautiful! Enjoyed our stay and would recommend this for a pleasant, relaxing vacation.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: I love this resort.

Everything and Everyone is so helpful. The grounds were kept nice. Entertainment was great. Food is getting better. The beach is beautiful. We have been going for 15 years now and will go again. Have meant a lot of friends.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Fantastic Holiday

Awesome describes this resort. The staff were all wonderful and so friendly. We did not stay in the Royal Service area. There is no need as this resort is beautiful and staff accommodating on the regular side. We stayed in building 38 which is half way between the pool and the lobby. We could not hear noise from either when the entertainment was on. The lobby is massive and nightly had either a piano player or a Cuban group entertaining in the early evening. We spent half our days at the beach where the snorkeling is great with just walking out a short distance. The other half at the pool where there was never a shortage of beds with fresh linen if you wanted them. The bars at both locations were great and there were waiters walking around to serve if you chose not to get your own drinks.i can see why they have many return guests. It is a great place to unwind and we would recommend this hotel to anyone in a heartbeat!❤️❤️❤️

Sol Turquesa Beach: Memories Holguín

I have been to this hotel 5 times now and this past week Feb 5-13 wow what a disappointment this place has gone from a 4 star to a 2 star. Diamond club is a total joke why both paying when just anyone can use the diamond clue areas. Broken phone, broken tv, the exact same things for breakfast lunch and dinner every single day. No bread hamburgers and hotdogs with no buns. The left over chicken from dinner is the protein you get for breakfast. No bacon or sausage. The Canadian flag flying out front is faded and torn total disrespect. I can go on for hours on reasons not to go here. Please believe me do not go here coming from a person who has faithfully gone here 5 times

Playa Costa Verde: Great resort

The staff were incredible during our stay here. The grounds were beautiful and the beach fantastic . The food was great! Miss this place already. Rooms were good. Would definitely go back to this resort!

Sol Turquesa Beach: Fun in the sun but Nothing fancy

Very family oriented resort. Always able to find a chair by the pool and beach. Food was surprisingly better than expected. Highly recommend the Rice Pudding!!! Staff was friendly and helpful! Wifi available in the lobby and always worked. Definitely would recommend. The decor was dated but if you’re not picky about that then this shouldn’t be looked over.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Had a good time!

Went with my husband and another couple. We had a bungalow room on arrival but did not have the best experience situated where we were, very close to the road and there wasn't an appropriate patio place. We went to the lobby the following morning and were given the opportunity to upgrade to adjoining rooms in the villa section, yes please!! It was totally worth it, we had ocean view rooms for very little $$. My friends did not have a toilet seat but we did. The water temp in the shower was  [... read more]a bit spotty during busy times but we did get hot water for the most part. The weather was phenomenal while we were there. This resort has something for everyone, it's very spread out. There is a party pool close to the main hotel and a quieter pool in the villa section. (part of that pool was closed for repairs). The pool in the bungalow section looked nice, if we were in a different bungalow, we probably would have stayed there quite happily! We didn't have a problem with the food offerings, again, there is something for everyone. The buffet in the main restaurant was busy but the buffet in the bungalow area was perfect. El Benny was our preferred breakfast destination, we ate there every morning! The staff was friendly and gals at the front desk were helpful. Guest services provided a couple of perks which was very much appreciated. The grounds were well kept and the beaches are amazing. I would totally come back again, we enjoyed our holiday at Club Amigo.

Playa Pesquero: Love this resort!

The hotel is well kept and the grounds are just breathtaking. The beach is beautiful and great for taking a walk. There’s 4 a la carte restaurants to choose from and the food is delicious. There menu has a good selection and they serve lobster if you like fish. They have big roast as well. The lobby is spacious with lots of evening entertainment. Around 3:30 - 4:00 they serve cheese, olives, pickles and prosciutto as a snack. In the evening a cart goes around with international liquor an [... read more]d cigars. The coffee train in the lobby makes the best cappuccino and espresso. The staff is should be commended for their hard work and great service. Can’t wait to go back.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Excellent Property

We visited this property the week of Feb. 2nd 2019. We found that it was a great property from the lobby to the pool our room and the beach. Entering the ocean could be challenging, water shoes were a big help, butt after a few trips in and you found the path between the rocks you were fine, and didn’t need the shoes. Lunch was available at a few places around the resort, including the main buffet, one at the pool and looking out over the beach and ocean. The room was spacious and comfortable, we stayed in unit 38 on the second floor in a corner unit, which was located about half way between pool area and main lobby and dining room. All staff very friendly and helpful, free internet cards available at lobby shop.we would go back and recommended this property to others.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Good times at Brisas.

We had some good times during our stay at Brisas Guardalavaca. The building is showing signs of age, but they do a reasonable amount of maintenance. The outdoor furniture is kept clean and tidy and the beach was raked every night. The entertainment team had activities for all ages every day with a good mix of traditional and modern music. Sol Turquesa Beach: Less then perfect!

We’ve been to Cuba at least a dozen times, and this resort really disappointed us. We were aware before hand of the flour shortages recently but it went way beyond that. I’ve had better food at 2* resorts. We also had the water shut off for a full day, you can just imagine the smell everywhere from not being able to flush toilets. Totally unacceptable. Playa Pesquero: Awesome

This was my fourth time to this Resort and although I was not disappointed in the Resort itself, it has gone through some upgrades, I was disappointed with the food selection. This Resort was taken over by new management recently and I'm hoping they're just ironing out the kinks but food wise, it has taken a downward spiral. As for the rest of the Resort, it remains the same. Service is great and all in in all it's a great place to go.

Playa Pesquero: Great Lattes!

Great Lattes at the train bar. Helpful staff, pool and beaches were gorgeous. Cheap wifi cards. Nothing special about the food though. Same as anywhere else in Cuba. Bring your own ketchup and spices!

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Un resort où l'on se sent chez soi

J'ai aimé ce resort car l'ambiance est accueillante et familière. C'est propre, superbe plage et on y mange bien. Ce que je n'ai pas aimé...pas de frigo dans mon bungalow comme annoncé dans les publicités. À part celà...rien à redire. J'en ai profité pour aller chez le très gentil et professionnel dentiste Miguel Rodriquez et 2 pairs de lunettes prescrites à Holguín. Que demander de plus... J'y retournerai....ça c'est certain! Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: A Few Problems

The hotel was fine the first 5 days - then they ran out of milk, flour (no bread or pizza), red wine and room towels. The staff was great, the grounds beautiful and the beach and pools were very nice.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Brisas Guardalavaca

Air Canada flight perfect, greeting at the Holguin airport perfect, was at the hotel 15 years ago and lots of improvements, food was good, beach was good, entertainers were not very involved in their duties but great place to go on a budget, enjoyed my time a lot

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: One of the best resorts I have stayed.

I would take a cabin room next time. Ala cart restaurants are only booked on sundays. Guest arriving after this date will only have the buffet restaurants. Scuba is only offered on a Monday. Playa Pesquero: Good

Hotel was nice...The rooms a little dated but clean. Staff was amazing and very accommodating. Food was good when made fresh for you at the buffet. Enjoyed the beach/pool bars. Coffe bar in lobby was fantastic. The beach was amazing. Kept clean. And our kids enjoyed the water activities..paddle boarding and catamaran. This was our second time there.

Playa Pesquero: Good Resort

Group of 14 people. We have been to Playa Pesquero 3 years ago and after looking around at other resorts to go to (only because we wanted to try something different) we decided to play it safe. Go to where we had a great experience before. Upon arrival we checked in at the desk and inquired about a room upgrade as we had been there before (same group of 14) They immediately upgraded us to larger rooms and invited us to a return guest banquet 2 nights later. The rooms are good but decor is date [... read more]d. We don’t really mind that as long as they are clean and in good repair. The food is good as well. A good variety at all meals of the day at the buffet. They have a few restaurants and bars in between the pool and beach that have hamburgers, personal small pizza, fish, tapas(finger food you can order multiple plates to make it a meal), etc. They do have a shortage of wheat right now in Cuba so if you want pancakes everyday for breakfast or buns on your burger it’s not going to happen. They always had bread for toast and they made French toast in place of pancakes and I had a deconstructed double burger with fries that was enjoyable. The pool area is very big with different levels of depth for swimmer and non-swimmer and the beach is awesome. Free accompanied catamaran, pedal boat use, other scheduled daily events. Still a good resort!
