Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Fantastic Experience

Beautiful resort with gorgeous grounds. Loved the ambient music throughout the buildings & main walkways. The food was wonderful and the service/services were top notch. I'd definitly return to this resort and would recommend it to anyone thinking about traveling to Punta Cana.

The resort and grounds were stunning. The food and drinks were excellent, especially the a la cartes. Lots of sunshine and heat. Definitely recommend but request a pool view room. The staff were very welcoming

The resort was more than we hoped for based on some very negative reviews. Wonderful views. Huge rooms. Food was good - a lot of variety. Staff were very friendly always smiling and helpful. Grounds and buildings were continually being cleaned and manicured by staff. There were two small beaches....sufficient for our needs, but, I am not sure if beach lovers would be completely happy since they weren't very big. They do have plenty of lounge chairs - best to arrive and claim before eight to g [... read more]et the ideal spots. There are a lot of stairs to climb which was to our liking. To be aware of: 1. BEWARE OF AIRPORT SCAMS - A man wearing the same uniform as our shuttle driver loaded all of our luggage on a trolley and would not let us take our own bags in spite of people asking to take their own bags. He told everyone not to touch them. He then forced our busload of people to follow him into the airport. Upon arrival at the West Jet counter he told us it was time to "Pay Up" He was very aggressive and people were pulling money out of their pockets to pay him. My hubby refused since he had already given the bus driver a tip and believed it was the same man. The man was bordering on abusive. We did NOT pay him. 2. West Jet Reps at hotel were not pleasant or helpful (they appear to be more interested in personal phone calls than helping people)..West Jet Check-In Rep - not friendly- no smile, no eye contact.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Had a Wonderful Holiday, but not a 5* resort

Having travelled extensively in my time, I enjoyed this resort. The grounds and rooms were spotless, although the rooms are in desperate need of an update. My husband has a bad back and he found the tram ride over to the other resorts difficult because of all the speed bumps. As such, we spent most of our time on at the Sian Ka'an. Also to a lovely young woman, Kenia, in the front Lobby, who went out of her way to find band aids for me!! We spent most of our time at the Cenote Bar/Pool and enjoyed the Entertainment Team activities in the afternoons. Would have loved to have Porto at the Chocolate tasting. Not sure we would return because of the tram rides vrs. back issues but would definitely recommend this property to others.

Lovely grounds, ala cartes fabulous. Service lacking. Big difference between day and evening service. Daytime staff helpful and friendly. Evening staff dismissive and not helpful. Restaurant staff was always excellent. Buffet staff at Ambar sketchy. Wifi intermittent. Transportation between Ambar and rest of resort not available after 7pm. Told my nephew to walk and he was on crutches Room service should also include alcoholic drink service.

Our room was gorgeous and the 24hr room service was amazing. Every single one of the staff seemed genuinely happy and eager to help with anything. Very clean and comfortable. We will absolutely return.

While my boyfriend and I enjoyed the pools a lot and the beautifully manicured resort, we found that most of the front desk staff were quite unwilling to help us with any questions or issues we had and didnt necessarily look happy to be there. There were of course a few exceptions by a number of the waitstaff, however overall it wasn’t super welcoming. Also while sitting at t [... read more]he beach or at the pool you will be bombarded by people trying to sell you excursions, photos, scuba diving, trinkets etc that by the end of the trip it grew tiresome. On the upside, the beach was beautiful clear water and nice sand. The food was great at all of the restaurants we visited exceeded my expectations. Every morning I had the luxury of getting a personalized omelette, which I loved. The maid service always left our room tidy and stocked with everything we needed and sometimes a cute towel swan. Overall the resort was gigantic the food was great and the country itself was beautiful, however the feeling of being unwelcome will stop me from coming back.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Resort was nice enough but staff was hit or miss!

My daughter(She is in her 20s) and I stayed at this resort for a wedding. The resort was nice enough but unfortunately our room ended up smelling like sewage. It wasn’t until the 3rd or 4th person I dealt with that something was done. Will at front desk was great but I can’t say the same about the rest of the front desk staff! Nite staff was poor especially when trying to get a shuttle to/from the Esmerelda to the Ambar it was ridiculous! Service in the buffet was either great or nonexistent. Restaurant service was awesome especially the Limbo; food and the staff were wonderful! The food overall was very good. Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Well worth every penny

We had a fantastic stay. We have been to a LOT of resorts and their staff is by far exceptional in both service and in attitude. The entire place is kept immaculate 24-7. We found the Italian restaurant to be our favorite. We would highly recommend this resort to friends and family. You will be well taken care of here...every last thing. Our safe would not open one evening and we had it taken care of in less than 10 minutes. For a resort this large, that quick of service is typically unheard of. [... read more] The trolleys available to take you anywhere you wanted to go on the resort was amazing.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Simply Beautiful!!!!

This hotel is like a little city within itself, no need to venture away from this gem. Beautiful beaches, lush grounds, friendly courteous staff and the pools are so clean. Trolley cars are everywhere to drive you where you wish to go but if you choose to walk, the landscaping is peaceful and so green.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing Resort

We spent a wonderful 7 days in February 2020 on a return trip to the Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar. What a pleasure to return and find the grounds beautiful maintained and many changes made to make the resort more Green from an environmental standpoint. Food excellent, accommodation great and staff very friendly and so competent. Strong recommendation to go and experience it for yourself.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Excellent resort in La Romana

The hotel ground and rooms are amazing. It is extremelly clean. The Don Pablo and the Italian restaurants are very good. The beach is nice and the water not as clear as Punta Cana as there is a river close by ending in the bay. If you take a chair near the Beach Club, closer to the ocean,the water is clearer.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Just What The Doctor Ordered!

Hotel resort is lush, tropical, and pretty peaceful. Highly dense foliage everywhere with nice touches throughout - special cocktails; infused water; excellent activities crew; varied nightly entertainment; excellent service everywhere; high class service at a la carte restaurants. Pretty snorkeling right on beach. Loved our week!!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Grand Bahia Principe EL Portillo

Great hotel. Most staff very friendly and accommodating. Great beach walk for miles snd right in town if your up to an hour sand beach walk. Great food and each night a little change into a theme night. Dominican, Mexicsn etc... Lots of lawn chairs but of course prime dpots are get fown earlier than later. Will return.....

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Nice resort

This is a very nice resort, with a beautiful beach. The rooms are ok, bed was comfortable good pressure in the shower. Food is ok, but buffet staff are very unorganized and they are always running out of dishes and glasses. I don’t think it there fault. They are under staffed in dinning room. We still had a good time, I would go back.

Perfect from beginning to end! Myself and a girlfriend purchased this trip through Air Canada vacations. Once we arrived at the resort, check in was speedy and efficient. We were taken to our room right away upon check-in. We had a ground floor, pool view. The room was clean, fresh and in need of no repair. Normally when I travel with another female I decline a ground-floor room, but this resort seemed different I felt very safe and secure at all times. An abundance of employees working to keep up the maintenance and beautification of this fine resort. We had a wonderful seven day stay. It was everything we had hoped it would be and more. I would return to this resort every year and bring my husband and 4 children next time.

No complaints at all regarding the resort.staff very knowledgeable and friendly..if they couldn't answer our ? then would find some one who could..Rooms were clean .Excellent variety of food..Beach clean ...possibly ( for first time visitors) remind them to put their beach towels on chairs or lounges early in the day if wanting to get a spot...seasoned travellers seemed to know the ins and outs of the resort.We both were would like to have know about a possible SCAM running and set up in the l [... read more]obby of the resort..

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Amazing Resort!

Just to say that all staff were amazing. Great hotel and they gave us an amazing room. The people working there are enjoying their work and were so friendly. Usually we like to try different resort but we're thinking of going back there next February. No complaints. I don't understand people complaining about a crack in the wall or buffet food. It's a resort where there's a lot of people going through during the year. You shouldn't be spending your time looking at paint chip in the wall.  [... read more] The most important is to have a very clean room and a great pool. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Good resort

This resort is a really nice facility and most of the staff make you feel welcome. We stayed in a corner swim-up room and we enjoyed the extra space and the tranquility of the pool. When we first arrived we were booked in a corner swim-up that was very close to the main pool. It was noisy so we requested to be moved to somewhere more quiet and reception relocated us immediately. There were some things however that made this vacation uncomfortable for us. The beach at the Ambar section is small and seating is very compact. We noticed all the loungers that were under umbrellas were reserved with towels, magazines etc. we could see some signs were visible to let people know that this was not permitted but people did it anyway. It was difficult to find a seat with shade any time we visited the beach. Because seating is so compact on this beach, non-smokers were subjected to smoke at all times. Because of this were were unable to enjoy the beach at this resort and this was very disappointing for me. This resort made some effort to provide a non-smoking area in the reception area, but I would suggest more needs to be done to provide non-smokers smoke-free spaces. Perhaps one of the swim-up sections could be designated non-smoking so people can relax outside their room in the pool and not be bothered by smoke. We paid a premium price to stay at the Ambar, we don’t drink alcohol and given the fact that we couldn’t enjoy the beach and had to accept smoke every day, I don’t feel we got good value for money. We would not rebook at this resort until these issues have been addressed.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Average resort

The nicest thing about this resort is its location. It’s the only resort in the area and you can take a long walk along a beautiful beach. Snorkelling in the shallow water off the beach was nice but we didn’t see an abundance of fish. The beach was crowded but there are a lot of lounge chairs and shaded areas under trees. The rooms were basic but I liked the firm mattress. Shower had poor water pressure. The AC was super noisy but the room also had a ceiling fan. Great selection of food a [... read more]t the buffet. Quality was pretty good. Buffet was very crowded and noisy. Had to wait for a table several times. Did not enjoy the Italian and seafood restaurants. Brazilian restaurant was fairly good. Cocktails at the resort were really sweet and weak in terms of alcohol content. Piña colada, for example, was made with a slushy mix and was terrible. Staff at the resort weren’t very friendly.
